## Workfront Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful Task Management, Confusing Interface

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I find the kanban board feature in Workfront nice and easy to use for specific projects. It's critical for our daily scrum and for me personally as a daily task tracker. It helps me keep my commitments in check, complete my leadership goals, and still take on new opportunities to help peers and customers. With the kanban board and project tracker, I can see a realistic view of my committed and free time to avoid overcommitting. I can also track and generate reports on barriers to completion, specifically items blocked by others, and escalate as needed.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The UX is not great. It is very hard to find anything. The taxonomy and nomenclature is not easy to follow. It feels like a lot of assumptions were made that people already know what they are doing when this was built rather than assuming people need assistance. Creates a longer than should be required onboarding experience and even after using Workfront for many years it is hard to find a lot of things or tell what items belong to which project. Additionally, the notification emails are excessive and don't "say" anything. Use some of this fancy AI to give me a summary or filter out if this email is really an email I need. Yes, I understand you can set notification options, but still... it's frustrating. Labored. Significant learning curve.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront optimizes my tasks and workloads, helps establish realistic timelines, provides team visibility, and tracks trends. The kanban board is critical for scrum, task tracking, maintaining commitments, tracking barriers, and generating reports to prevent overcommitment.

  ### 2. With great power comes great possibility for making life overly complicated.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Workfront is incredibly thorough, and very customizable. You can really tailor projects and portfolios to fit any structure.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

With all that custom capability comes a LOT of over engineering. Executing simple projects in Workfront can quickly turn into a slog of tasks and roadblocks.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Workfront for project management across a mid-size marketing org. It does typically keep us on track, as long as individual contributors keep their tasks updated. The notes/update feature is helpful to leave comments, and it's great to be able to search through our historic projects.

  ### 3. Organized Task Management but Cumbersome Interface

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I find that all the details for tickets are in one place, which is nice. It makes it easy to communicate with other members involved in any given ticket. I also find the different tasks within a project useful because you can see the entire scope of the project and not just the parts that you're involved in. I just like it because it's very organized.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

I find the user interface to be cumbersome. And I think it could benefit from a revamped UI similar like, a Jira. Not very easy. It's very cumbersome.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workfront to centralize ticket details and improve communication with team members on tasks. It's useful for seeing the entire project scope, not just bits I'm involved in. It's very organized.

  ### 4. Comprehensive Features but Difficult Interface

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like that Workfront has a lot of functionalities and that it generates reports. The reporting feature is helpful as it allows me to monitor team performance and understand where resources are spent. It also enables me to see who is working on what and how much they're doing, which helps in allocating work evenly among the team.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The interface is not intuitive and it's not easy to navigate. The search is also difficult to use. It would be great to be able to filter more in the search and bring up more accurate results. I want to search by date or date range and sort results by date.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront keeps projects organized, sets deadlines, and allows me to monitor team performance. Its reporting feature helps allocate work evenly by showing who's working on what and the workload distribution.

  ### 5. Comprehensive Tool with Room for Agile Enhancements

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clint C.

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I use Workfront for bringing marketing campaigns to life from end to end. I like Workfront because it acts as a connective tissue between teams. The thing I like most about Workfront is the granularity it gets down to. I value the content block creation with tagging implementation for tracking. I also like that Workfront ties to Adobe Analytics, Campaign, and Target.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

I would love to track things at a 'campaign' level end to end easier and be able to apply Agile/Story point methodologies.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront acts as the connective tissue between teams, bringing marketing campaigns to life from end to end.

  ### 6. Needs Better Integration to Streamline Cross-Department Workflows

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hansel L. | Team Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

As a project management platform, it enables us to keep everything organized within a single tool. This is especially valuable these days, since the abundance of different tools can often make our work more complicated.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

It lacks some features and compatibility with other platforms, which makes it difficult to improve workflows across the various platforms used by different departments as much as we would like.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This addresses a major integration issue that comes from using too many different apps and tools within the same projects or departments. It also offers various perspectives on a single project, allowing you to maintain an overview from a bird’s-eye view while also giving you the ability to zoom in and examine the details closely.

  ### 7. Workfront is a little complex

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aman K. | Consulting Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

The migration from our old project management system turned out to be more complex and demanding than we had anticipated. Overall, it's a good product, but there are a few nuances that have required us to seek extra help from developers, since the "out-of-the-box" functionality didn't fully meet our needs. However, with proper training, both administrators and end-users are now able to use the platform as intended.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The UI could definitely be improved, as it currently feels quite rigid in its configurations. However, when it comes to proofing and approvals integration, there are many positive aspects. The proofing tool, in particular, stands out for enabling strong collaboration on content, which is a significant advantage.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product offers solid functionality and performance, supported by a strong level of services expertise. Its roadmap and future vision are promising, and the company appears financially and organizationally stable. Workfront is effectively addressing our needs and providing tangible benefits.

  ### 8. Effective Workflow Tool with Integration Challenges

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arthi K. | Digital Experience Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like that Workfront keeps cross-functional teams aligned and acts as one source of truth for the approval process. It streamlines our approval process.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

automating with other systems

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workfront for creative digital asset workflow and project management, streamlining our approval process and keeping cross-functional teams aligned with one source of truth.

  ### 9. Great for Task Tracking, But Needs Better Automation

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

When used effectively, this tool helps me keep track of my own tasks, their statuses, and due dates, as well as monitor the tasks assigned to my colleagues within the team. As both a project manager and team manager, I also appreciate the ability to view a high-level snapshot of a project's overall progress.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

I wish the tool offered automation for certain tasks, like estimating time spent based on historical data from similar projects, rather than requiring me to track my time manually—which I don't do very well. I've also heard from leadership that it's considered an expensive tool to maintain, and they are exploring other options. Additionally, as a new hire, I found that the learning curve is quite steep. There are so many features, and the interface feels cluttered, which can make the experience overwhelming.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this tool to track multiple course development projects, both my own and those of my team members, at various stages of progress. It also helps me monitor the work of colleagues in other units with whom we collaborate closely.

  ### 10. very efficient

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yoyo W. | Content Creator and Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Super helpful for organizing media projects and requests in one place and made it easy to track progress and deadlines with my team
- it provides clear visibility on who’s working on what especially on a 5-10 people team setting
- Helped prioritize tasks when juggling multiple campaigns/events
- Improved collaboration between departments (e.g. marketing dept with finance)

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

- sometimes it can feel a bit overwhelming with so many features and it takes extra clicks to find what I need
- notifications can get cluttered if there are lots of projects
- Mobile version isn’t as smooth as desktop (which I use mobile a lot during work than desktop!)

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront helps me stay organized by keeping all media requests and projects in one place, which makes it easier to track progress, meet deadlines, and collaborate with my teammates.

  ### 11. Workfront Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caitlyn S. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like that it truly is an end to end platform. It doesn't overpromise and under deliver. I enjoy the aesthetic overall and find the dashboard particularly useful.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

My main constructive criticism would be that it doesn't offer as much customization as I'd like to see for this type of platform. I'm also very impatient so improved load times would be a priority as well.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate the tracking/task tools as well as the AI assistant feature. I'm always wary of these integrations because the functionality isn't always there but it's been positive so far.

  ### 12. Takes time to get used to and learn all the intricacies

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** D C. | Studio Artist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like that we can have multiple business units filtering into one queue and that they can be color coded for that unit. I also like that I don't have to manually move a project when it is done. I mark it done and it moves back the the Project Manager.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Workfront took is taking long to get used to, you need to have at least 3-4 windows open to navigate per each job which makes it difficult to navigate when working on multiple projects. It is still in its infancy stages here but over all I guess it is fulfilling the business needs. It need improvement in some areas. (Please make it more user friendly.) The hard part was learning all the intricacies of the product.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all three of our business units in one thread and source.

  ### 13. Honest review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nina B. | Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

1. It works with other Adobe products. If you’re already using tools like Photoshop or Illustrator, the integration is smooth.
2. The customizable dashboards are a big win. They give me a clear, up-to-date view of where my projects stand, who's working on what, and what deadlines are coming up.
3. User-friendly the platform is
4. Plus, the automation features help with task assignments and tracking deadlines.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

1. there is a bit of a learning curve when you’re getting started. It takes some time to get the hang of all the features, but once you do, it’s well worth it.
2. Another thing that could be improved is the mobile app. While it’s handy for quick check-ins, it doesn’t offer the full functionality like desktop.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a Project Manager working with a group of designers, Workfront helped me keep track of their to-dos and deadlines, ensuring everyone stayed on task and projects moved. It made it easy to manage workloads.

  ### 14. Workfront, good tool, bad scaling

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

Marketing optimization through effective reproducibility provided by the templates. Solid automation of proofing workflows, excellent integration with the AEM assets allowing for rich meta data useful for reporting. Access to resource planning.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

It is honestly hard for me to understand the workflow things.

  ### 20. Good Project Management tool for teams but I have login issues all the time.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I need to request passwork reset and often times, I need to get admin's help to reset my password, which is inconvenient.

  ### 21. Great at Task management, but...

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varun S. | Marketing Campaigns Project Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

- Simple user experience
- Overall the product has a ton of capabilities
- Straight forward and easy task management

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

- The proof window/function is completely broken.
- Not very intuitive, complex and clunky. Example: the documents in the sub-tasks do not roll up to the main task's document section.
- A lot of bugs and proofs fail all the time.
- Too many email notifications. Can change all settings, but Workfront will still flood your inbox.
- Inconsistent experience in each browser. Example: The task URL will appear as the name of the task when copied through Microsoft Edge whereas it appears are a regular URL when copied through Google Chrome.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is excellent at task management. It sends a notification when there is a movement/status change in predecessor tasks. But it is not an Agile Project Management tool.

  ### 22. Not the best tool to work with

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ada B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

The best thing about Workfront is Centralized project management, also file sharing and real-time chat make it easier for teams to collaborate. It also allows integration with a number of software

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Workfront's interface and workflows are a bit complicated, which can make it challenging to use effectively. The cost is also on the higher side with limited customization properties

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to manage the task and keep track of the deadlines. Also, I can view the task progress in the form of Gantt charts and generate reports and do an analysis based.

  ### 23. WorkFront - lots of clicking

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Workfront provides a platform that allows projects to be tracked, monitored, and finalized.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The Task, Milestone and UX are not great to use. The discussion options aren't easy so a third party app is needed.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront allows projects to be launched, monitored and tracked.

  ### 24. Robust application, not so user friendly

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

At the first glance, it seems like everything could be sorted easily. Not really! Of course, it depends on the type of projects you handle.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Takes time to familiarize with the interface.
A lot of additional and unnecessary options.
Tagging the people for every comment is tedious.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Great one-stop app to learn for managing your multiple projects

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One-stop solution for efficient project management, that keeps track of a project right from the start, status of the project, versioning, reviews, updates and storage of files and even condition of the project.

  ### 25. Gets the job done but notifications aren't great

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

It's easy to give feedback on documents, with various tools to circle, outline, write new copy, upload images, write comments.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The interface is not intuitive not find projects, view requests, find documents, really anything. I've only gotten comfortable because of the sheer number of times I've used it.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Workfront to create new, and update old sales enablement content with our creative design team. It's getting the job done to push brand-approved content out

  ### 26. Keeps everything in one place

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like how stakeholder can review things and leave comments in the system.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

I don't like how you have to add someone everytime a new person wants to submit a request.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used workfront to streamline project workflow.

  ### 27. Task management tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel R. | Marketing and Events Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Marking tasks as Done is a great way to visualize how far along a project is.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The requirement for a deadline is not realistic. Sometimes dates will be earlier or later and it is challenging to specify a date in the beginning stages.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront is helpful for users who struggle to self monitor their progress. I personally felt this added more time when I'm already project managing well.

  ### 28. Great once you have everything set up

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Good view of all employees bandwidth's at once and ability to color code depending on the project.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

I could see it being a bit messy to get set up and manage. It's best if there are dedicated PM's or people managing/organizing the set up for an entire team.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No huge problems. I think the largest hurdle is just getting used to the interface and integrating your projects. Benefits is you can see everything at once and see colleagues work - Great for work transparency.

  ### 29. Workfront has been a good, but not great tool.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabe C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like the "Open Proof" feature. It's easy to leave targeted comments on designs, and the "Approved with Changes" option is a gamechanger. I also appreciate being notified via email when proofs are ready for me to approve.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

It's hard to communicate with the designer within Workfront. Comments left in the updates section are often missed by the person working on the project. It hasn't been an easy system to navigate with competence.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Make sure to become very familiar with the Workfront system so you don't lose track of any projects. Provide a clear outline of the application when you onboard new employees.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront is allowing us to collaborate on designed elements in our recent transition to a fully remote workforce. It's also been helpful to see design requests from prior years all in one place.

  ### 30. Decent Tool with A Couple Major PitFalls

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

* Logical organizational data structure
* Lots of surface-level customization possible

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

* WorkFront is constantly releasing new versions and function changes so learning and managing the program is an ongoing process that detracts significantly from the real work of our business
* WorkFront's frequent new version releases seem to go through no beta testing first and often have large functional errors. Instead the customer is forced to be the beta testers, which again detracts significantly from the real work of our business.
* WorkFront tries to make one single system cater in depth to too many different businesses---The result is an overly complex system where only half the core functions actually apply to a given business, and there's few ways for users to streamline it at that core level.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

* Project scheduling
* We went paperless by capturing project data in the WF system

  ### 31. Workfront is okay

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

The ability to tag defined teams in tasks is nice. I also enjoy how easy it is to update the task titles from the subtasks tab of the parent task. The templates are also nice.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

While I enjoy the amount of control Workfront gives on privacy settings, it does take some extra steps to ensure that people who have been added to tasks can see the available in the documents tab of the tasks.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Consider the capabilities you're looking for in a project management tool/if you'd like proofing options built in (those are nice!)

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront helps us with project management. It's easy to update dates to set reminders, as well as collaborate with various team members directly within tasks.

  ### 32. Difficult and confusing to use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** TUONG T. | Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

SSO integration that allows for logging in with existing AD accounts.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

It's a tedious process to submit a ticket.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to manage all of our projects in one location. The software is hard to use and makes users not likely to input their projects on there.

  ### 33. Workfront Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kendra W. | Media Relations Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like that all of my work is organized in one place - it's all listed so I can see it in one place. I also like that I can see the names of other team members across the organization who are involved in the project.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Sometimes I don't receive the notifications from Workfront. So, it's difficult to see when I've received a follow-up message or documentation from a coworker that I need to move on in a project. That's caused a few stalls on projects.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

One thing our organization has done that complicates things is that we are using multiple platforms to communicate - Teams, email, Workfront, etc. If you're going to use this, pick one method of communication. Otherwise work tends to get lost.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to collaborate and communicate across departments on common projects. We're able to share documents among ourselves so there is only one latest, greatest copy.

  ### 34. An Okay Proofing Program

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily K. | Concept Designer, Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

It's nice to collate comments on a tagged file, although that's certainly not unique to Workfront. The ability to "resolve" comments and check them off is helpful for circling back and making sure that all comments have been addressed before proceeding, and the automated email reminders to clients are helpful for nudging them to approve/comment.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The site can get cumbersome, and it can be difficult to find files that I'm either an administrator on or were requested to approve. I also have issues with resolving comments, and it's inconsistently available when I log in to files. Additionally, my account sometimes will not allow me to upload proofs for comment, which is the only reason I use it.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for signoffs on large graphic batch files. It's helpful for multiple reviewers to be able to see each others' comments, and to create threads for the same issue instead of all separately making the same comment.

  ### 35. Great project manager, OK UI

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul P. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I use Workfront daily with one of my largest clients. It's great for keeping a large team of virtual or other workers on track with projects -- as long as somebody is in charge of managing it well. It's a good tool for seeing where a project is on track or falling behind, again, as long as it is managed well.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The user interface is only OK, not great, and has a fairly steep learning curve from my experience. It can also generate a tremendous amount of email, much of minimal or no use. It has multiple settings to control this from happening. But adjusting the dials and tuning things until it's "just right" can take longer than it should.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to manage a large number of projects that are being developed simultaneously by a large network of workers, whether they are full time employees, contractors, or vendors, and no matter where they are located in the world. Many of the members of my team are in India, with many others in multiple time zones in America, Europe and elsewhere. Workfront helps manage these projects and to keep them on schedule. It works well when you have one person, or a small group of likeminded individuals, managing the system at the high level. If you have too many managers set up with too much responsibility for each one, you can run into trouble.

  ### 36. Good for proofing print collateral, not always the best for digital and website assets

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

User-friendliness enables transparent feedback, works well for time-sensitive projects that have a lot of stakeholders

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

It's not always website/cms friendly, proofs can be unpredictable in how they populate

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes working with cross-departmental teams simpler and more manageable, offers automated stages for efficient project management

  ### 37. Lots of features... maybe too many

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah B. | Marketing Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

This is a highly customizable project management software. Good for teams with lots of different people working on projects.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The software is pretty slow, cumbersome, and difficult to use. Our team did 20+ hours of training just to get it set up.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows our team of 12 marketing professionals to juggle project requests from 50 external requestors. Reporting lets us see our results and project statuses.

  ### 38. Workfront

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Most of what you need in one place. Ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

When PMs create projects, they do not do it in a consistent manner. The email notifications come in either constantly or not at all. People hold up projects because the information is not being conveyed because the system does not work properly. The PMs should be able to create a project in a consistent manner. The fact that they do not shows that the system could be improved.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

While far from perfect, the product does what it needs to do.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront solves out task management problems.

  ### 39. Gets the job done, but buggy and hard to navigate

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like the ability to tag people so that they know when to look at something. I also like the way that the comments are structured similar to how they would be on a social media post. The platform does help keep projects organized—if you know what you’re doing and how to navigate the system.

I also appreciate the ability to search previous projects--it helps keep track of old versions of marketing pieces, especially if we need to find an old version of a sales piece.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Workfront was difficult to learn and get used to navigating. It also tends to be buggy. For a while, if I was using Internet Explorer, it wouldn’t let me tag people. They fixed this. Once in a while, email notifications will stop working- so you have no way of knowing if there’s a project update you need to review.

Sometimes the platform can be a bit slow to load as well. It can also be a difficult thing to get a freelancer up and running on our Workfront, and they aren't able to post proofs right away unless one of our in-house PMs adjusts some settings.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Take as much training as you can for your specific Workfront user roles. Also, make sure you post updates to projects/feedback under the correct tasks. Also make sure that you don't post updates to the original request link, because then it won't show up within the actual live project.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving for project management. It has been beneficial for keeping projects organized, on time, and tracked.

  ### 40. Complicated

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

I like the proof HQ feature. I like that designers can upload their designs and other members of the team reviews them by marking up the proof.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

I dislike that how there are a lot of screens. It takes so many clicks just to do a simple task. I feel like this makes things hard to learn.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Do more user testing on the interface.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to have a more transparent work flow allowing our partners (clients) to be informed of where their project is on the timeline. Also to be more organized with projects. I think some of the benefits are having the ability to create project outlines and have players come in at their step of the project.

  ### 41. Higher learning curve than Basecamp, Trello

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah H. | Account Director, Public Relations and Communications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Easy to stay up-to-date on tasks, notification emails are prompt and as a result, redundancy is eliminated in pinging people via email or chat. It's easy to attach documents to requests and create a unified view.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Doesn't seem engineered toward creative projects. I very much prefer the single view that Basecamp provides and the visual appeal of the Basecamp sign in page.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Consider the use case before considering Workfront as a one-size-fits-all product management solution for your company.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a former user of both Basecamp and Trello, I required zero training to pick up either of these tools. Workfront requires, well, work to get up and running. I prefer a single view of a given task, but the fact that conversations can take place in both the documents and overview tab leads to confusion. Workfront is only as good as your team is at tagging you.

Workfront also requires you to be very, very organized to see utility from it. If a task is not nested properly under a project, for instance, it can be impossible to find. The search functionality helps in this instance, however, this does increase the amount of time spent digging instead of being productive.

On the other hand, the request format does allow for natural back-and-forth between our internal agency and those requesting a project. Trello is deficient in this instance, and is almost too flexible. I still love Trello for personal and team to-do lists, but recommend Basecamp over Workfront for creative collaboration.

  ### 42. Workfront- Frustrated User

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

The interface is pleasing on the eye. Easy to open email links and edit/ approve when coworkers request it. Due dates are clearly outlined. Color coding for various comment options, easy to understand. Easy to view comments once submitted.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Hard to determine workflow. Never know if I must approve, what I have out waiting to be approved or what I have submitted/ if it has been viewed/ seen. Looks easy to use, intuitive, but when you attempt to edit, approve, comment, etc, it's very cumbersome and confusing to navigate and determine if you have done what is asked of you on a project by project basis.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Request training/ webinar options so new users can understand how to use (both input and review) what is being asked of them. An overview of the company usability occasions and how to correctly navigate the tool. I never received an overview of the tool capabilities or option to use a mobile version. Request a "new user" orientation webinar and sample scenario for new users to work through to learn the functionality of the tool on their own PC.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At The Fresh Market, we used it to ensure correct information in weekly circulars (pricing, product images) and promotional events. We requested signage for special one off in store events. ie 25% off department blade signs. We communicated information about special promotions (product information, price, special details) to be used in in store/ online marketing.

At GNC, we used the program to approve promotional signage and verbiage. Verified correct product images, pricing, dates etc. Used to request off shelf signage tags for promotional periods.

  ### 43. workfront review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Workfront has been a game-changer for our company. By utilizing the system I have a full picture of what is happening in our organization. I am a firm believer that I must understand the work before I can manage the work

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The amount of options available can certainly be overwhelming, but Workfront staff will bend over backwards to help you understand and make the most of your implementation and ongoing system improvements.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workfront has done a wonderful job building an entire community for their clients to share information, tips, and best practices with each other. I am always impressed to see how much interaction there is, not only between Workfront users, but also the input from Workfront staff who actively join in on the conversations to offer insight or advice.

  ### 44. I recently helped to integrated Workfront into the Marketing department at my company.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Workfront makes the communication process much more transparent when routing proofs for comments / approvals. It keeps all of our documents organized within the project. Comments are always visible so you don’t have to refer back to old threads.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

There are too many clicks between Workfront and Workfront Proof. The two systems should integrate better. There are also too many notifications being sent. The mobile app is very limited - should be able to convert requests to projects via mobile app.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of my biggest issues with Workfront is that Workfront Proof does not link up with Workfront. They are two different systems which means that every time you route a proof, or give approval you have to do so in both systems. A lot of clicking.

  ### 45. Workfront Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

It seems to operate well enough for when multiple cross-functional teams are required for the completion of one project

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Frankly, in my opinion, the alerts or comms side of this software platform does not work well enough for the fast-paced environs this software is likely to be utilized most/best in

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

I believe this software will improve, but for what it is I believe there are other, better tools on the market currently.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I go back to this, in that it seems to operate well enough for when multiple cross-functional teams are required for the completion of one project

  ### 46. Worthwhile based on your specific tracking needs.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Workfront allows in-line editing and quick adjustment of your timecards. It also has a powerful issue tracking ability which we used a lot at our company. Although I appreciate that Workfront was often happy to add custom functionality into the tool for us, we did have issues having those additions made without it being made clear to our team that we may be denigrating other parts of the tools performance by adding too many fields. We didn't have any support in determining whether an upgrade was going to be helpful in reality.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

It's more expensive than other technologies. It also has very limited functionality in terms of billing and resource management. Attempting to use this tool to solve those problems results in significant additional effort on behalf of your account / project management teams.

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

Make sure you know exactly what you want of a project management tool. If you don't need to invoice out of this tool, or allocate resources to the work, then this is a great option. Be aware that their solution consultants can't help you determine whether a customization will actually improve your use of the tool, only that it's possible.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It does allow for quick creation of new projects. Its issue tracking functionality is better than similar functionality in competitive tools. It has a mobile app which is extremely valuable when, at a company such as ours, we're often moving between buildings on campus, interacting with remote employees, etc.

  ### 47. Good product. Not the best service.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

The ease within the software’s proofing process. It is easy to upload, comment, and move projects through the proofing process.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The unwillingness of support that work front provides to a customer that doesn’t subscribe to their entire project management suite of products. I know of companies they give great support to that use their entire suite of project management products. My office does not and it takes an extremely long time to get any support or help in streamlining our processes.

Colors in PHQ don’t always match indesign, photoshop files. They aren’t drastically off but sometimes there isn’t an accurate depiction of color. Doesn’t happen all the time. Normally only 10-20% of projects.

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed of getting projects proofed in a digital format.

  ### 48. Workfront LEAP 2019

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather V. | Business Analyst/Project Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

It is very feature rich. I love the time tracking which provides insight into actuals which allows us to see how well the team is estimating their work.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

Cost! We are a non profit organization and without an adequate discount we are not able to grow the user base and increase adoption!

**Recommendations to others considering Workfront:**

If you wish to have integration consider the price tag of Fusion. $20K is very cost prohibitive for this functionality!

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned above, the time tracking is giving us insight into actual hours spent which is very enlightening when estimates are so much higher.

  ### 49. it is an efficient and practical tool to maintain the management of work

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ana s. | is an excellent work option because it allows you to share and discuss ideas , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

It is a very practical software, its functions are very useful to manage projects and collaboration with other work teams. All this in a very dynamic and effective way that allows you to increase and improve the performance of your collaboration and give another point of view to the development of your projects

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

is a very efficient tool that is rare to look for the bad side but for me this aspect is that it is a bit expensive but it is worth the price and that its learning curve is a bit complicated and it takes time to understand it in a way that is efficient

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a very beneficial tool because it facilitates the management of projects with a solid training, support which allows to improve considerably the performance of your team

  ### 50. Helps Streamline Process, Create Accountability

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Workfront?**

Workfront is great from a process standpoint. Previously, there was no way for us to quantify creative work, evaluate workloads of the creative staff.

**What do you dislike about Workfront?**

The software definitely takes some getting used to. There's a good amount of onboarding that usually takes place to learn the terminology

**What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

rkfront allows for an orderly intake process using its custom forms (a questionnaire) that allows the project manager to identify the exact asks that are being made.
