Workfront offers many promising features, such as Priorities, Canvas Dashboards, and Planning. The API is extensive. Adobe branding is a name that many outsiders associate with professional products. Unfortunately the UI / UX is quite outdated. It would be nice, if some newer Web-Framework would be used. Getting together necessary information requires a lot of clicks. In our context we need a huge amount of individual customisation. Each customer has different needs. Workfront offers many interesting approaches, but it is often unclear whether we are relying on a solution that will still be viable in the future. Many functions seem to have been neglected. This platform can provide a clear overview of ongoing projects and their associated tasks, making it easier to manage workflows, especially when integrated with backend automations. What do you dislike about Workfront? I don't find the charts and graphs in Workfront useful. The giant chart is particularly not great, and its user interface could be a lot more engaging. We were sold a picture that Workfront seamlessly integrated wtih the rest of the Adobe suite. It was also sold as a flexible system that could do anything you wanted. None of this was true in practice for our work. Our points of contact at Workfront changed several times in the two years we were with them, though they did try to be helpful and help us identify resources Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Workfront? So many things about Workfront turned out to be a disappointment compared with the product demo. Implementation through one of their recommended partners was very expensive and not all that helpful in the long run. We continued to pay managed services for more than a year because the system was so hard to use. The lack of flexibility was also a constant frustration. Labeling and things like that are very flexible, but the system itself does not work in intuitive ways. Our company and even our managed services partners were costantly trying to find workarounds to get the system to do the things we needed it to (things we now have found very easy and common in other project management systems). We tried to encourage, then incentivize, then force people in our company to use the platform for daily work and adoption was always very difficult and low because the system is so unintuitive and difficult to use. If you go with them, make sure to sign a short contract to make sure you are getting what you're paying for. Integration is expensive with Workfront, so factor in extra budget for that. In our experience, Workfront is not what they bill it as, even after great effort and expense is invested. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Difficult as h\*11 to find what you need to complete a task. Related attachments are in a completely separate tab, and must be downloaded before viewed. Search functionality is useless - even if you type the exact text of the task you're looking for. User Interface gets less and less useful with each release. Urgent tasks are near-impossible to find. Long-ago-completed asks re-surface. At work, we invented the Workfront Game. Each team comes up with 35 tasks, and writes each one on an index card. Team "A" then enters those tasks into Workfront. Team "B" dumps the cards into a random heap on the floor. The winner is the team that can find their tasks first. (The "Heap on the Floor" team is always the clear winner.) This is our department tool, so we are obligated to use it. To keep track of my WF tasks, though, I use a Trello Board. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Workfront solving and how is that benefiting you? It causes more problems than it solves, and generates more work than it saves. It is not unusual for me to spend more time in Workfront, hunting down the task details and related collateral -- than it is to complete the entire task. Overall the product has a ton of capabilities, and that is very appealing. We were sold on the ability for all users to have access capabilities that were suited to their needs and the ability to see everything on a single dashboard. There are lots of options for project intake, mapping, and tracking. The software can we customized to meet your organization's specific needs. The software works on both mac and PC and works on mobile. The notfications via email are a great aid to the overall program as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Workfront? This product has a huge learning curve and is not super intuitive. It takes a lot of training to get users onboarded and the workflows have repetitive steps. This product was too time-consuming for our team to use. The software is clinky and hard to navigate. It takes too much time to figure out where things are and to track status because of all the layers and complexity of how the software is mapped out. If your oganization has turnover you'll also have to deal with switching lisences over and training new employees often which can be a hastle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Workfront: The product left a lot to be desired. Overall it had a steep implementation and learning curve and was not as intuitive as we had hoped. If you are trying to have a lot of people using the product and don't want to do a ton of training, this is not the product I would recommend. I would be sure that the core team using this product is well trained to get the most out of it. WE had a hard time with this tool because we wanted to allow multiple teams to access to submit projects and they were confused and asking questions which led to email communications that negated the point of having the software. We realized we needed a more straightforward system that other users could figure out without needing too much training. If you have a lot of dedicated project managers that are using the tool exclusively, it could be great for your team as it has a lot of cool features and capabilities that can be customized. We wanted to use this product to help our project management process and have multiple stakeholders view and work on projects simultaneously. This product was ment to allow for better project intake and management. Workfront creates a snapshot of your projects in one place and allows you to see where all your tasks are at and who is assinged to what which is helpful for seeing the status of projects and reporting back to stakeholders. I did not like the amount of email notifications that would come through from work front. It was very annoying and even after I changed my notification settings, I still received way too many notifications that I ended up creating a rule in Outlook to send all workfront notifications to a folder.
