"Unified HR Data, But a Steep Learning Curve and Clunky Search"
3/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

What I appreciate most is the unified data architecture. Having HR, payroll, and talent management all in one place eliminates the need for messy integrations. It ensures that when a change is made to an employee record, it reflects across every module instantly, which drastically reduces data entry errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

The platform has a steep learning curve for new administrators. Because it is so highly configurable, the initial setup and ongoing maintenance require specialized knowledge or expensive consultants. For casual users, the search functionality can sometimes be non-intuitive, requiring multiple clicks to find relatively simple tasks or documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Seamless HR Workflows with Workday"
5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

Workday is the Porsche of HRIS. It can do almost everything, and the best part is that our employees find it intuitive and seamless to use. Tasks and notifications are straightforward and show up clearly when needed. The workflows are easy to follow and very clear. On the backend, we can trace what has happened with any event and quickly see what’s still pending for the next step. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

Workday can be so robust that other systems struggle to integrate with it. For example, our company uses Absencesoft because it helps us manage leaves and accommodations in line with legal and state statutes, but integrating it with Workday can be challenging. Absencesoft, like many other software systems, can’t do much with the data once it’s been received. Workday’s data often needs to be manipulated before it’s “sent over,” which becomes time-consuming and ends up requiring experts outside of our HR team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Automation, Easy Navigation, and Helpful Support with Smartrecruiter Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

The automation is great, and the system is easy to navigate. I also really appreciate the integration with our ATS, Smartrecruiter. On top of that, the customization options within the system are awesome, and the support has been very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

The reporting portion is something I don’t like, since we have to build it ourselves. Also, I don’t like the inability to fix certain mistakes made in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient, intuitive, and great for everyday HR self-service"
5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

What I like most about Workday HCM is how it centralizes all my essential work tools into one intuitive platform. I can easily log my hours, download my pay stubs, and request time off in just a few clicks. The self-service functionality is excellent, giving me full autonomy over my personal information and HR tasks without any hassle. It’s rare to find an enterprise tool that is this user-friendly and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

The navigation can occasionally feel a bit convoluted. While the interface is clean, some specific information is buried under multiple layers of sub-tabs and menus. It sometimes requires more clicks than expected to find a particular document or setting, which can be slightly frustrating when you're in a hurry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Workday Makes HR Service Delivery Fast, Easy, and Well-Integrated"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I work in HR service delivery, and Workday is very easy to use—everything is set up nicely. I can quickly view employee information, including payslips and benefits. I’m also able to process many types of job changes and post jobs both internally and externally. It makes it straightforward to manage time off and leaves of absence as well. I can generate different types of letters, and I can track time and payments too. Overall, it’s the best HCM for what I need. It’s also connected to our other Microsoft tools like Outlook and Teams, as well as ServiceNow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

Security! Although it’s a good thing that people can have different security levels and their access can be limited, sometimes, working in HR, if you aren’t given the correct security you simply can’t do your job. For example, in Workday Learning, you need Learning Admin access to manage employees’ learning, but if you’re not granted that access, you end up having to rely on the internal Workday/HRIS team and go back and forth just to complete the reporting requests from stakeholders. "Streamlined HR Processes with Powerful Automation"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

What I appreciate the most about Workday HCM is how much can be automated. Routine HR tasks like approval, notification, and workflow can be set up to run smoothly without constant manual intervention. I also like the flexibility to create custom reports and tailored notifications, which makes it easier to get the exact insights we need and keep the right people informed. It saves time and reduces repetitive work while still giving us control over how the system supports our processes. Additionally, the ability to integrate Workday HCM with other systems helps reduce manual work and keeps information consistent across HR systems, making processes more efficient and less error-prone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

While Workday is powerful, some areas could be more user-friendly. Reporting is flexible but can feel complicated if you're not already familiar with the systems, and it sometimes takes extra efforts to get the exact data you need. Navigation can also feel a bit click-heavy, with multiple steps required for simple tasks. Users who are not technical feel it more complex. A more guided or simplified reporting interface would make it easier to quickly pull the insights we need without relying on advance knowledge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I really enjoy the ease and simplicity of using Workday HCM. The daily tracker feature helps me keep myself on track, ensuring that I'm accomplishing all the tasks and meeting my metrics. It makes the ease of my job really, really easy. The initial setup was also quite straightforward; it took us less than twenty minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

I think the automation could absolutely be worked on and reviewed, making it easier to do things in an automated fashion and being able to set different alarms and things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slow, Glitchy, and Hard to Correct Approvals When Changes Are Needed"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

It has all the administrative details regarding career in one place and we don't have to open many links for the same.

Consolidating the previous experience documents and certifications was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

It is sometimes very slow and unresponsive. Have seen many glitches in which changes made are not saved properly.

When correcting mistakes regarding absence, if we try to correct it, it is very troublesome to do so. It has many set of rules that doesn't allow changes once it is approved, although in some cases we need to correct wrong approvals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Modern, User-Friendly Workday That Makes Managers’ Day-to-Day Easier"
5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

I really like how easy Workday is to use. The UI looks modern and feels very user-friendly, especially for new users. Since Workday was integrated at our company, it has received a lot of praise from both new and existing employees. It’s also been very effective for our managers and has made their day-to-day work easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

There are times when Workday glitches, which can disrupt our managers’ workflow. I do appreciate that when Workday plans maintenance to address potential issues, it’s typically performed after business hours, which results in minimal to no interruption to our workflow. "Easy-to-Use Interface with Straightforward Workflows"
5/5
What do you like best about Workday HCM?

The interface is easy to use and quick to get comfortable with. The front page is well laid out, and the workflows are straightforward once you get used to the formats and how everything is organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workday HCM?

The workflows aren’t always easy to follow. I also really don’t like how the reports are laid out—they feel cumbersome to use, and it’s often hard to understand what information is being requested for input. The goals feature is a nice addition, but it isn’t always user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
