## WordPress.org Reviews
  ### 1. The Perfect Platform For Bloggers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma I. | Lifestyle blogger, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2025

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

Easy to implement. Allows you to take control for your website, add plugins, design the look of your site. I like how you can monetize your site on org, and it offers support from many different areas.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

Lots of updates to new versions that can change the ease of use.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I originally started on wordpress.com, but wanted to monetize, so moved to wordpress.org

  ### 2. Flexible, stable and highly scalable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emmanuel B. | Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2025

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

The best thing WP can offer is open source, followed by total customization and control. You'll have access to many interesting plugins where you can manage your site with total freedom. The best thing is that they have a huge community of developers, which reduces costs.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

From my opinion there are some weaknesses that I can list: security issues, performance if you're not able to optimize the product and too much dependence on third-party plugins. This can cause problems for smaller products without much technological infrastructure.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing and working on large-scale content with dozens of writers is easier with WP, not to mention that the vast majority of journalists are used to the platform.

  ### 3. Great for Blogs, Hands-Off Agencies and Advanced Users

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan S. | Marketing Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2024

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

WordPress does blogs well; it is cost-effective and relatively user-friendly. Agencies have built automation to instantly build a basic website for their clients with little to no effort, and advanced users, such as the Canadian Grand Prix of Formula 1, have made highly customized websites that look good. It's easy to integrate other software such as Givecloud, Keela, Mailchimp or other products that allow you to embed code into different websites and Wordpress supports the Head code and page code necessary for each.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

WordPress requires constant monitoring for plugin updates and compatibility and is much harder to design than other options. I've used WordPress frequently, and it is usually more time-consuming to do an identical task than in other builders. This is not necessarily Wordpress's fault but the Plugin or Builder that is being nailed onto Wordpress after the fact.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides a website for clients to host content.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eben S. | Search Engine Optimization Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2024

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

One of the best things about WordPress.org is its flexibility and control. It’s open-source, so you can customize nearly every aspect of your site with plugins, themes, and custom code. This freedom is ideal for users who want complete ownership of their website and the ability to scale it uniquely. The wide range of plugins lets you add advanced functionality (like e-commerce, SEO tools, and membership features) without building things from scratch. And with a vibrant community and extensive documentation, a wealth of resources will support you along the way.

A drawback of WordPress.org is its steep learning curve, requiring users to manage hosting, security, and updates themselves. It also relies heavily on plugins, which can lead to compatibility issues and security risks if not properly maintained.

WordPress.org solves the problem of website customization and scalability, offering users full control to design unique sites with advanced functionality through plugins and themes. **What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

The switch from regular edition to Elementor is sometimes clunky and designs tend be not transfer.

Having a website that someone without deep HTML understanding can edit is key. It has allowed us to do a lot of the website work inhouse.

**Reviewed by:** Pitter N. | Data analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

There are many things I like about WordPress but what I most like about this CMS is that unlike other CMS you can customize almost everything for your website with WordPress and find every features you want in the plugins. This is how open source projects successful over the years.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

Surely WordPress.org software is free itself, but if you want to create a mid size professional website using WordPress, it will cost a lot! Bestie hosting and technical expanses, everything in WordPress cost you money! From premium themes to every necessary plugins can accumulate, leading to higher overall cost that make you consider other options.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you want to use WordPress for a weblog or simple website, I can say because WordPress install almost automatically, so you don't need any technical knowledge to install or run it, and again it save you from a lot of frustrating and confusing technical expanses with using all the plugins and thems it provide for you .

I love how easy it is to use, how great the community is. It's great for creating everything from simple websites with only a few pages to large involved websites, e-commerce sites and blogs. It's a great tool I use daily as a website designer and developer.

The Wordpress community is also great if you have any issues or need support. There are also so many plugins to cover pretty much anything you may need to do. You don't need to be a developer and understand code to create beautiful websites in Wordpress.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

I dislike that certain features such as easily being able to assign specific roles to users isn't a built in feature other than that I think it's a great tool.

I also dislike how they have handled the whole Advanced Custom Fields plugin by force take over.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a great tool for building websites and creating user friendly, designs that work really well from both a front end and back end perspective.

  ### 35. Fastest and cheapest way to launch a website, ecommerce store, community forums....

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raja B. | Proprietor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

Making the most of PHP programming language, open source WordPress is heavily optimized for cache and other web development processes. As a resut, a website on WordPress consumes minimal resource. Whether it is a blog or an e-store, community forum or learning management software, WordPress has readymade plugins (free and paid) for almost all prevalent business use cases. Something that can take months and years to develop in-house can be accessed here instantly.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

Some use cases where speed is of paramount importance such as stock trading apps can be best done on C. For scientific applications, Python might be better suited.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my personal blog, I find WordPress the best CMS. Adding ecommerce feature takes a few clicks with activating WooCommerce plugin. For accepting payments, it takes few more clicks to connect with your PayPal/Stripe/PhonePe accounts. So as a web developer, I single-handedly use WordPress for my own needs while also recommending to my friends, relatives, and cients. When I have additional time, I customize front-end using my knowledge in HTMl/CSS/JavaScript. Or start working on adding functional features honing my PHP skill that can be later even distributed as free plugin to all WordPress users through WordPress.org plugin repository.

WordPress.org eliminates the need for expensive custom website development by providing a free, open-source platform.

  ### 37. Build your website without coding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily B. | Adjunct Faculty Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2025

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

The fact that I don't need to be a coder or understand coding to build a website, blog, and store. It is easy to use, design, and customize exactly how you want your website to be.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

Navigating from one element to another, even on the same page, isn't super easy or smooth. It would be great if you could drag and adjust things in a little more detail.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me design and manage my blog.

  ### 38. Easiest and the cheapest way to launch a blog or an ecommerce store

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tohibullah M. | Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2024

**What do you like best about WordPress.org?**

With zero programming language, one can launch a website (be it a blog or an ecommerce store or a community forum) within half an hour. Heavily optimized to consume the least bandwidth and hardware resource versus other platforms.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

Might not be the most secure way to launch a mission critical site where stakes are high, such as a banking site. PHP language with which this open source CMS is made is not as refined as Python when it comes to programming design and syntax.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For launching our websites and e-stores, WordPress CMS by WordPress.org is our first choice. Being open source, there is no proprietary restriction. Codes can be accessed and modified as per the needs. Obviously there is a hosting cost. Being heavily optimized for caches and other techniques, hostiing cost is minimal versus other platforms. Not to say this CMS is optimized for SEO.

Wordpress.org is a top-notch website builder that offers its users a great deal of design features, highly optimized tools, automated plugins, and versatile functionality. I like this tool because it offers numerous customizable themes and designs and free WordPress plugins.

**What do you dislike about WordPress.org?**

Well, Wordpress.org does not align with the suitability of beginners. I dislike one thing about Wordpress.org because if you want even the small & simplest things to your template you need to learn how to edit HTML,CSS, PHP ,etc. In a nutshell, you need to learn coding as well to play with template designs.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most wonderful thing about Wordpress.org is its free service and open-end platform. In other words, it helped us to build content management system for our web developers.Even new web designers really had a helping hand by using this platform at my agency. Due to its customizable themes and designs, it really helped our designers to make and extract designs as per their wish.

While I generally like what the Gutenberg project has added to WordPress, the coding style it has adopted has become somewhat unfriendly to the way I prefer to code. If you don't do things "The WordPress Way" you'll start to run into problems, and the documentation is still pretty sparse.

**What problems is WordPress.org solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients come to me to build attractive, performant, and easy to use websites. WordPress enables me to spin these sites up relatively quickly, while still delivering high quality and professional results.
