What do you like best about WordPress.org?

I find WordPress.org to be incredibly user-friendly, as setting it up for my blog at Majestic Beauty Outlet was not difficult at all. Everything was clearly explained, which made the initial process intuitive, including adding my business email and connecting everything as needed. From the outset, WordPress.org has promoted my niche effectively and has been instrumental in creating more visibility and promotions for my website. The platform’s capability of organizing blog posts, creating titles, and facilitating campaign creation has significantly benefited my content strategy and ensured my concepts are clearly understood. I appreciate its unique and creative approach, which is why I would rate it a 10 for its comprehensive support in managing my blog. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The most flexible and powerful platform to build any type of website"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

What I like most about WordPress.org is its flexibility to create anything from personal blogs to complex e-commerce or membership platforms. The wide range of plugins and themes makes it possible to customize almost every aspect without coding, while still giving developers full freedom to build custom functionality. Its huge and active community ensures constant updates, tutorials, and forum support. Plus, being open source means you have full control over your site and your data, without depending on a closed platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

The same flexibility can also be a drawback — if not managed properly, the site can become slow or insecure due to outdated or incompatible plugins. It requires regular technical maintenance, and for larger projects, you may need to optimize hosting and security. There’s also a bit of a learning curve for users who have never managed a CMS before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ultimate Flexibility"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

What I appreciate most about WordPress is the freedom and control it offers. I can completely customize my site without being limited by platform restrictions—whether that's selecting my own hosting, installing any themes or plugins I choose, or directly editing the code when I need more advanced functionality. It truly feels like I own my website, rather than just renting space on another platform. This flexibility makes it much easier to scale, add new features, and design everything exactly as I imagine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

The main drawback of WordPress is that its flexibility also means you take on more responsibility. Because it’s self-hosted, you’re in charge of managing updates, backups, security, and site speed, unless you hire someone to handle these tasks. For beginners, the learning curve can be CONFUSING when dealing with plugins or custom code. If something goes wrong, there’s no built-in support team to help—you’re left to troubleshoot issues yourself or search through forums for solutions. This can feel overwhelming if you don’t already have a technical background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Integration and SEO Make WordPress a Standout Choice"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

WordPress is easy to use and can be integrated with many other apps like EventBrite. It also allows SEO functionalities. As there are so many companies using, it is easy to find tips, videos, tutorials and forums for any questions you might have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

In the beginning, it can be a little complicated and not so intuitive to use. There are no drag-and-drop options, and to build the pages you have to preview to check the changes. I also find that the way the blocks are structured, somentimes you can't find the option that really fits your website best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Security Vulnerability Management

The platform’s popularity creates attractive targets for malicious attacks, requiring vigilant security monitoring and regular updates. "Why WordPress Was the Perfect Choice for Building Our Website"
What do you like best about WordPress.org?

When we set out to build our platform, we needed a CMS that was flexible, scalable, and SEO-friendly—and WordPress checked all the boxes.

WordPress made it incredibly easy to manage dynamic content like advisor listings, service pages, and location-based SEO entries. With the support of plugins like Yoast SEO, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and Elementor, we were able to customize every aspect of the website without writing complex code from scratch.

The multisite functionality was another major plus, especially for projects involving repeatable templates across different regions or clients. It allowed us to scale fast while keeping content structured and easy to update.

Performance-wise, with the help of caching tools like WP Rocket and LiteSpeed Cache, the site loads fast—even with hundreds of pages.

From design to deployment, WordPress proved to be an incredibly powerful platform, especially for content-heavy and directory-based websites like ours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WordPress.org?

While WordPress.org is incredibly powerful and flexible, there are a few drawbacks we've encountered:

Plugin Dependency – Many essential features require third-party plugins, which can lead to bloat, compatibility issues, or even security vulnerabilities if not maintained properly.

Performance Optimization Needs Manual Effort – Out of the box, WordPress isn’t the fastest CMS. It takes careful optimization (caching, image compression, minification) to ensure top-tier performance.

Security Responsibility Falls on You – With great flexibility comes responsibility. Unlike hosted platforms, WordPress.org requires you to manage your own backups, updates, firewalls, and malware protection.

Steep Learning Curve for Advanced Customization – For beginners, making heavy design or functional changes (like custom themes or CPTs) often requires coding knowledge or developer help.

Admin Panel Can Get Cluttered – Especially when many plugins are installed, the backend dashboard can become cluttered with menus and notifications, impacting usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
