I find WooCommerce not user-friendly, particularly during the initial setup, which was difficult. I struggled with adding product descriptions properly. Additionally, I am extremely frustrated as WooCommerce holds my money for extended periods, which feels like they're holding it hostage. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2025

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

WooCommerce integrates seamlessly with WordPress, making it a natural choice for users already familiar with the platform. It's highly customizable thanks to a wide range of plugins and themes. The interface is user-friendly, and managing products, orders, and payments is straightforward, even for non-technical users. Being open-source also gives you full control and development freedom.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

your store grows in size and complexity, WooCommerce can become resource-intensive and may slow down without proper optimization. Some essential plugins can be quite expensive, and relying on third-party extensions can occasionally lead to compatibility or update issues.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WooCommerce solves the challenge of setting up a fully functional online store without needing advanced technical skills. It allows me to manage everything from product listings to payments and shipping in one place. Thanks to its flexibility, I can tailor the store to fit my exact needs, whether it's adding custom product options or integrating with marketing tools. This has saved me time and money while giving me full control over my eCommerce business.

  ### 6. Something that I have been using for years now. It is great but can be finicky

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anshul N. | Technical Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2025

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

Ease of customization and a ton of plugins that go around with it.
You can use plugins like Woo-payments to manage the payments. It also attaches to third party payments like stripe which is easy to integrate. It also has feature to select drop downs and integrate different specifications or sizes. Listing different SKU's is an easy job and also you can use fibo search for better search results. I tried the PRO version for sometime that is great. Also, you can use it with plugin like trackshipment to make sure what are the charges according to product dimensions and weight. Overall it is better than shopify.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

It is slow and some plugins that go with it are pricy.
Also, I feel like that they made woocommerce a bit more pricy for some extra plugins that are made by woocommerce. Good part is that you still have third party extensions which are not too reliable though.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) It makes dropshipping easy as you can combine it with something like Aliwoo and it will integrate and you can directly import products to your woocommerce platform which is great.
2) As it has great use of API, It is great if you are a programmer and if you want to manually pull out the data.
3) It also helps me a lot that there are too many free extensions that can be used and does the job.
4) I work with Fiverr and I make sites for my end users and this platform is used more than shopify. People come to me to migrate from shopify which is a great opprtunity for me and the end user.

  ### 7. “WooCommerce + VidShop = Next-Level Shopping Experience”

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2025

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

WooCommerce is highly customizable, integrates with almost every payment method, and has a massive plugin ecosystem. With VidShop, I can create engaging product videos that triple my sales conversion rate—something I couldn’t find in any other free plugin.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

The learning curve for beginners can be a bit steep, especially when configuring multiple plugins together. Some premium extensions are pricey.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It handles everything from product management, payments, and shipping to customization, making it possible to build a professional e-commerce site quickly.

For me, it has removed the barrier of expensive development costs and given me full control over my store. By integrating it with VidShop, I can now turn product videos into direct sales channels—making the shopping process faster, more engaging, and increasing conversions without extra technical headaches.

Woocommerce is easy to integrate, easy to use, and simple to learn. Is such a great service to help keep track of products on your storefront and to manage your sales. The best part is it's a breeze to upload your product catalogs. No matter where you need to integrate Woocommerce there's a good chance it is available and easily integradable. Facebook, WordPress,Mailchimp and Salesforce are just a few that all work seamlessly with Woo.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

I dislike that we had not heard of WooCommerce sooner!
On certain channels you do not hear about them ( atleast I hadn't back in the day).
Nowadays maybe they are mentioned everywhere? All I know is I regret not finding them sooner.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us be able to sell our product and services all over the world and be able to accept payments easily.
It manages our inventory and configures our shipping plan.

**Reviewed by:** Brinda M. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

I was working on development of e-com website of my startup, i was don’t have enough funds to hire someone. So finally I decided to create e-com store website by self. I watched some of YouTube video, and I learned the how create e-com website using WooCommerce, and it was damn easy.

After learning basic stuff, it didnt take more then 48 hours to make it live. WooCommerce is known for simplicity and easyness for me.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

WooCommerce's mobile app is not perfect yet, order notification and many other features are not working properly. If they focus on launching great mobile app without any premium subcription then it will be very good for small startup founders.

It's easy to setup and use, especially if you are already familiar with the blogging platform. There is also an extensive collection of plugins and addons that can be utilized to customize and improve your store. There are also many plugins for Wordpress that nativly support Woocommerce as well.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

If you rely on plugins for your e-commerce stores website that are premium the monthly or annual costs can begin to add up. Some of the free or lifetime purchase plugins stop being developed resulting in a need to be looking for new solutions. It can be difficult to know what to use to expand functionality while keeping costs down. Make sure you really think about your store, what functionality it will need, what plugins will be needed, and what the total costs will be. If you don't need to rely on a web developer to do all this it can help keep costs lower.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use WooCommerce to host our e-commerce store and maintain our product database of over 100 different skus.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim N. | Chief Administrator, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2019

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

WooCommerce has become the standard go-to ecommerce plugin for WordPress. Simple setup with an automated wizard process, and an intuitive interface, with massive expansion capability make WooCommerce my preferred solution for quickly creating and managing online storefronts. Importing and or duplicating digital or physical products are quick ways to populate store inventory. I especially like the ability to automate the sales process and seamlessly deliver digital products to my ebook customers without any manual intervention whatsoever. The vast array of free and premium add ons available for WooCommerce allow me to quickly deploy ecommerce sites for myself and customers. As a web designer, I really appreciate the easy learning curve my less technically adept website customers have when I'm teaching them how to add products, fulfill orders, and manage their new online store using WooCommerce. I wish I would have tried WooCoomerce sooner!

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

Support is sometimes lacking. While live chat has been implemented, expertise and responsiveness is not top-notch. Thankfully, the product documentation is extensive. The inability to export all store settings makes deploying a live store from a development site more time consuming than necessary.

**Recommendations to others considering WooCommerce:**

Setting up a basic WooCommerce store is simple and free.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I develop e-commerce websites faster with WordPress and WooCommerce. We are also automating processes with automatic delivery of digital products and seamless bookkeeping integration.

  ### 30. WooCommerce makes it easy to edit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua D. | Director of Marketing, Partnerships, and Website Logistics, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

I am familiar with building and editing websites in many formats and woocommerce makes it super easy to edit and adjust settings, edit pages, products, coupons etc, all on the back end with an easy to use graphic user interface. I have shown people with no coding experience whatsoever how to edit pages and products and have had them successfully do so with ease. I use woocommerce everyday and the ease of use and integration made transistioning easy. The ease of implementing new plugins. It has many positive features, I have even shown my customer support staff how to edit products so they may implement updates to descriptions as needed to clarify for customers.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

When pulling the analytics, there are sometimes that it is easier to use a plugin for particular organizations or multiple products etc. rather than relying on only the native analytics feature. But this is an easy fix and many analytics plugins exist to easily implement to improve the options for reports if needed.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it easy to have a website that multiple users can interact and edit simultaneously to maintain the website with ease while being easy enough that even those with no prior website development experience are able to navigate and learn how to as well.

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

WooCommerce was so easy to implement for our site, we use it everyday to manage the site and make it easy to keep up with. It has some of the best features we have had on a site manager and its integration has been necessary for success at this point. Any issues we have had, their customer service has always been willing to lend a hand to help fix as well. In my opinion, its the easiest software to use for the site.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

The customer service has taken a bit to respond a time or two but addressed our issues once they did.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us be able to have the whole team help to manage the website and make edits on the fly with little to no website building knowledge. It has helped our site be more effective and hit better sales ever since being implemented.

**Reviewed by:** Dr Andy T. | Founder, Owner, and Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2024

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

Installing WooCommerce on our WordPress site was straightforward. Setting up WooCommerce for the first time was a breeze, thanks to the intuitive nature of the forms in the WooCommerce settings.

The WooCommerce plugin has proven reliable in over two years of use; we have not experienced any glitches.

WooCommerce works seamlessly with the LearnDash learning management system and PayPal. We had been using LearnDash and PayPal before WooCommerce - we needed an e-commerce solution ompatible with both of them, and WooCommerce fit that bill perfectly.

Email notifications to both seller (us) and customers are highly customizable.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

WooCommerce meets our needs for an e-commerce solution - I cannot think of any downsides to this software.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an e-commerce solution that was compatible with our preferred learning management system (LearnDash) and payment processor (PayPal). WooCommerce met this requirement.

WooCommerce is cost-effective because it is free and open source.

  ### 36. Still the best no-code option for your ecommerce

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francesco G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2024

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

-An infinite number of extensions for basically any need
-An open source environment where you can add your own customizations to their code if have the necessary technical skills, or somebody with them.
- Plug and play virtually any payment method: super easy to use and implement.
-Solid code, continiuosly reviewed.

If you know nothing about CMSs and Wordpress you might want to start your ecommerce with something else, otherwise Woo is the best pick around. Seriously, we've been using it for the last 10 years and there is no match, also when it comes to outsourcing customizations: the dev community is much larger than with any other similar product.

Oh and of course since WP makes 30% of the internet, virtually any data platform out there will have connectors to sync your WOO data.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

The extensions are all priced with a SaaS model, sometimes pretty high, and you do not get much customer support. Which could be frustrating if you are a newbie to the WP echosystem.

**What problems is WooCommerce solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is one of the best plug and olay soutions in the open source CMS universe to create an ecommerce.
The core plugin is totally free, and if you just need to sell physical or virtual products wothout any specific needs, you can be ready to go in as little as 20 minutes.

You can collect payments with most payment gateways, including apple and google pay, which also take very little time

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eva E. | Geschäftsführer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2023

**What do you like best about WooCommerce?**

I use WooCommerce as a robust integration with WordPress. In general, the software is user-friendly and a shop can be operated and run as a non-developer. Its wide range of customisable features and extensions make it ideal for my e-commerce needs. Due to the large community, you find quickly help or resources like training videos or forums.

**What do you dislike about WooCommerce?**

While WooCommerce excels in versatility, its complexity can, especially during integrations be overwhelming. I would not recommend implementing without experience. You need a lot of additional plugins and also some clue about local regulations in e-commerce as WooCommerce is an international tool and you need to customize it with configurations or with additional modules to make it compliant. Don´t underestimate the costs of setup and operations.
