Woocommerce subscriptions fairly easy to get started with, especially if you are familiar with woocommerce, which can be a bit wonky at times. As with woocommerce and most of the available plugins, the more plugins you have, the slower the page load speed and potential for plugins to not play nicely with each other. But, unless you know how to custom code, plugins are the only option. It's really not an issue with the subscription plugin per se, but the woocommerce platform itself. The plugin is somewhat limited in features for a business that requires alot of customizations, and it isn't intuitive on how it manages the subscriptions separately from the initial order. We needed a plugin to help us manage a rental program - the first shipment is a physical product and the subsequent billings are virtual. I like the ability to integrate my WordPress Website with WooCommerce without too much hassle. The plugin installs quickly and is relatively easy to set up. I think there is room for improvement there. For the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin it provides the basic needs for a subscription website without a lot of bells and whistles. The integration with woocommerce is straightford since it's by the same authors that wrote WooCommerce. It supports basic and some advanced subscriptions that cater to a majority of people. The high price of nearly $200 to use the plugin is steep, but I understand that this is how the developers make money seeing how WooCommerce is free. It's not too bad, though. You can build a subscription website without joining a cookie-cutter WYSIWYG editor with a monthly fee! Start charging your own monthly fee for consulting, online services, classes and more. If you are familiar with WooCommerce and have an intermediate understanding of HTML and basic CSS, then this is for you. WooCommerce Subscriptions plugs into WooCommerce seamlessly, there is a fee, however its worth the buy. Here's why? Generally, most subscription platforms do not deliver on binding with the parent software like the proprietary stuff. I usually don't recommend a paid plugin, but this one integrates so well that its really not worth the knock off versions. Eliminate the integration headaches by going with their version. The customizations are straightforward, the coding is minor, and the out-of-the-box features are genuinely useful. My clients seem to be happy with the purchase and I am happy building it out for them. Web design, E-commerce, and Subscriptions made easy. Wordpress, WooCommerce and WooCommerce Subscriptions. Similarly, for the life of my, I couldn't figure out how to set up upgrade/downgrade even though i set up referential payments on my paypal account.
