What do you dislike about Wix? While the platform is incredible overall, if I had to point to one area for improvement, it would be the mobile app experience. The Wix app is great for managing my business on the go things like tracking analytics and responding to inquiries but it doesn’t provide the same creative freedom or deeper editing tools as the desktop version. I’d really like to make more advanced design tweaks directly from my phone; as it stands, for major layout changes and detailed customization, using a computer is still a must. Before using Wix, my biggest hurdles were the steep learning curve and the high cost of web development. Wix solves this by bringing professional-grade design, hosting, and business tools together in one accessible place. For me, the biggest benefits are time savings and independence. Rather than waiting days for a developer to make a simple text update or swap out a product image, I can handle it myself in seconds. Wix values design above all, it seems Wix was built so that everyone can make their dreams of having the best website come true, integrating features that make the website complete, store, booking, hotels, restaurants, etc. Although performance remains the Achilles' heel due to its infrastructure and how Google measures it, but that's another story that maybe Wix will look at in the future, the price keeps rising even though almost nothing has changed in the last two years, the price has really punished users because before everything was included, now everything is charged separately, even the smallest features are charged separately and now Wix is indeed the most expensive on the market and it's not even the most complete in solving things that others have as standard, it has integrations with external apps that simply make everything even more expensive, customer support has declined significantly, incorporating AI has been the failure of support, there are no longer logical responses to simple problems, developers think that the customer or anyone is an expert in writing what they think or want and that is a fatal mistake. It is moving away from its all-inclusive promise and getting closer to an all-paid model, now nothing can be done without having to pay more, there are no competitive advantages compared to others, only the disadvantages that Wix over the years has not wanted to resolve, because it is clear that their programmers are not clients and only attend to interests and not to real solutions needed by real clients. Before, they listened to us through Facebook and it was great, they gathered us for hours of talks where you learned everything in a simple way, they asked us real questions with a real interest in solving problems. Now they only ask you to throw out a question that no one answers and that no one cares about in an app that no one is motivated to use. As a platform for building and running a store, Wix is functional - the product catalogue, checkout flow, and editor are all competent. The app marketplace concept is good. This is my fifth poor support experience with Wix, and the one that has made me seriously consider migrating my entire business off the platform. An app sold through the Wix App Market broke my store's Add to Cart button on the day I paid for it. 18 days before I discovered it. The app developer confirmed in writing on 9 June 2026 that Wix billing had already agreed to process my refund and was tracking it daily. I have that email. I waited seven weeks. Nothing arrived. On 26 July I spent over an hour in live chat being passed between three agents. Manuel had not read any of my messages and had to be told twice to read the supplier's email confirming Wix had already committed to the refund. I was promised escalation to a specialist refund team. The following morning, Kate (Premium and Policy Specialist) sent a copy-paste form letter citing Paragraph 6.4. Non-refundable. No exceptions. No acknowledgement that Wix's own billing team had already committed to the refund in writing. Olena then asked me to provide a screenshot I had already supplied in the live chat the previous day. Five interactions. Five identical outcomes. Agents who don't read your messages, promises that go nowhere, and form letters that ignore the specific facts of your case. Wix is supposed to solve a straightforward problem: provide a complete, reliable e-commerce platform with a marketplace of trusted apps that extend its functionality, backed by support when things go wrong. For the platform itself, it mostly delivers. My store runs on Wix, my products are listed, and the checkout functions - when third-party apps sold through their own marketplace aren't blocking it. That is where the benefit ends. When an app sold through the Wix App Market broke my entire store's checkout, Wix provided no meaningful support, hid behind a blanket non-refund policy, and ignored written confirmation from their own billing team that a refund had already been agreed. The marketplace model only works if Wix takes responsibility for the ecosystem they profit from. They do not. The problem Wix is not solving is accountability. They will take a percentage of every app sale made through their marketplace, and when those apps fail catastrophically, they will cite Paragraph 6.4 and wish you a good day. I have lost money through a broken checkout, lost more money pursuing a refund that was already promised, and lost weeks of time I will not get back. The platform works.
