I like that they are staying on top of trends in creating a simpler user face. New programs like Sway and Yammer is easier for the office stay in touch, and it keeps everything in one place. Being able to have one set of code to work on all windows 10 platforms is very useful and removes a lot of the tedious work. Thought there is a decent amount of support available, I think it would be beneficial for Windows to post another set of samples or videos. For example, when working with Pivots, we wanted to have our pivot at the bottom and the content above it. It took us FOREVER to find out how to do this, Microsoft mentioned that you could do it, but never said how. After awhile we were able to do it by playing with settings in the Pivot style, but it was quite the headache. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. The app which I work on, zomato, is an easy-to-use restaurant finder app that lets the users explore all the dining options in their city. It allows users to browse through updated menus, pictures, and user reviews to decide where they want to eat. I also used the bing maps integration to allow users to navigate to the restaurant. Having worked on a Universal Windows Platform application, the Windows 10 SDK offered a quick method to visualise information, and display it on the three device families (Desktop, tablet and phone). Using the MVVM structure correctly is very rewarding, and the XAML elements provided for resolution independent designing were pleasant to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Windows App SDK? The Windows Phone Emulator could not simulate location. Deploying to a remote phone would often stop working inexplicably and I'm still trying to get tech support on the matter. The Cortana integration library is not documented clearly enough, having me rely mostly on the samples provided on github. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Windows App SDK: At the time of writing, I consider the SDK to still be young. There are still a great number of bugs around, especially concerning the mobile platform, and not enough clear dates are mentioned on when these will be fixed. To me, this platform seems to be on the edge of either recovering and creating a great experience for developing and using alike or becoming a half-finished buggy mess before the next large upgrade hits restarting the same process again. I've worked on an power consumption monitoring app using the Fibaro Wall plug and Syncfusion's Line-of-Business library. It charts the information gathered. Furthermore I worked with the Phillips Hue Lights to test Cortana integration.
