"Great, Simple, and Efficient User Interface"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

Great, simple and efficient User interface Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

It's pretty hardware demanding so you need to get proper hardware for win11 to run Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Windows 11 was created to reflect how people use computers today, where multitasking, remote work, gaming, security, and AI-assisted productivity are increasingly central. Microsoft’s goal was to deliver a cleaner, more modern operating system that runs smoothly across laptops, desktops, and touch-enabled devices, while also improving overall responsiveness and battery performance.

Features like Snap Layouts and virtual desktops make it easier to manage multiple apps at once, helping users stay organized and work more efficiently—especially on larger, modern displays. Windows 11 also puts a stronger focus on security, with requirements and technologies such as TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and biometric authentication intended to better protect users from current threats like phishing and ransomware.

For gaming, Windows 11 adds enhancements such as DirectStorage and Auto HDR, aimed at reducing load times and improving visual performance. Microsoft has also built in AI-based tools like Copilot to support searching, writing, and other productivity tasks. While many users like the refreshed interface and smoother workflow, others are critical of the strict hardware requirements, fewer customization options, privacy concerns, and the growing presence of AI features and Microsoft services throughout the system. "Sleek Design Boosts Productivity, but Limited Customization"

4/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I appreciate Windows 11's modern, smooth, and visually polished feel compared to previous versions. The redesigned interface with a centered taskbar and rounded corners gives it a cleaner look. I love the fast performance, especially on newer hardware, and the multitasking features like Snap Layouts make productivity much easier. The modern design makes it easier to use, reducing clutter and improving focus. Windows 11's wide compatibility with tools and software such as Microsoft Office, VS Code, Discord, and Chrome is valuable for productivity, gaming, and programming. The better security and modern performance improvements create a smoother and safer user experience. Finally, the initial setup of Windows 11 is generally simple and user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

I find the taskbar in Windows 11 feels more limited compared to previous versions because you cannot freely move it to different sides of the screen or customize it as much. Updates can sometimes restart the system at inconvenient times or introduce small bugs after installation. Additionally, the stricter system requirements can be problematic as some older devices and software may face compatibility issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Windows 11 improves my multitasking, gaming performance, security, and productivity. Its modern design reduces clutter and enhances focus, while features like Snap Layouts simplify working with multiple apps, saving time and boosting productivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Gaming Experience with a Sleek Interface"

4/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I love how Windows 11 runs faster than any other OS I have used and is very user friendly. The built-in security features are great for protection against viruses and threats, so I don't need any additional antivirus software. I really enjoy the clean and uncluttered interface, as well as the better gaming performance compared to other OSs. The clean and modern look enhances the overall user experience for me. I also appreciate the fast boot time, which is similar to a phone experience—fast and quick. Microsoft Teams being built-in makes it easy to jump on calls quicker and stay in touch with colleagues, which is a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

It uses a lot of RAM even when it sits idle and updates sometimes slow things down temporarily. The start menu is less customizable than Windows 10 and the taskbar cannot be moved to the top or sides anymore. Some older software and apps don't work well anymore. Also, the Microsoft account is required for setting up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Windows 11 is faster and more user-friendly than other OSs I've used. It has built-in security features, a clean interface, and better gaming performance. Its fast boot time and integrated Microsoft Teams improve productivity and ease of communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Workflow Manager with Initial App Setup but Needs Better Key Customization"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I like that Windows 11 initially installed all Microsoft-related applications, saving me time since I don't need to install my Teams app myself like Discord. It's pretty convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Keyboard shortcuts and keys are hard to use, especially when using my favorite external keyboard, which I have to set up manually. I have to use Microsoft PowerToys and the keymap tab, and I have to change F series keys to suit my needs. As a software engineer, I want easy shortcuts on my IDE, so I need support for manual key mapping, requiring me to use VIA App, PowerToys, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Windows 11 simplifies operating my Microsoft account. It saves me time by initially installing all Microsoft applications, so I don't need to manually set up apps like Teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Cohesive, Modern Upgrade That Feels Snappy and Intentional"

4/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

What I like best about Windows 11

Windows 11 feels calmer and more intentional than older versions. The centered taskbar, rounded corners, and cleaner Settings app make everyday work less visually noisy. Snap Layouts are genuinely useful when I’m juggling a few windows, and the overall polish makes the desktop feel more modern without getting in the way.

Signing in with a Microsoft account ties files, settings, and apps across devices, and things like Phone Link make it easier to stay on one machine while still seeing messages or notifications from my phone.

On recent hardware, day-to-day use—opening apps, switching tasks, waking from sleep—usually feels snappy. Features like DirectStorage and better scheduling for games and heavy apps help on supported setups. It’s not magic on very old PCs, but on a machine built for Windows 11, it runs reliably.

For many people, Windows 11 comes with a new PC or as a free upgrade from Windows 10 on eligible devices, so the direct cost is often low.

First-run setup is straightforward, and the built-in tips and “Get started” flows help new users find basics without hunting everywhere. For businesses, alignment with Microsoft’s update and management story can simplify IT onboarding compared to a mix of odd versions and tools.

Copilot and other built-in helpers are still evolving, but they’re handy for quick summaries, drafts, and “how do I do this on Windows?” questions without opening a browser tab. Search and recommendations are smarter than they used to be, as long as you’re comfortable with the privacy tradeoffs that come with cloud-backed features.

Overall, what I like most is that Windows 11 feels like a cohesive upgrade: nicer to look at, better connected to the services many people already use, and tuned for current hardware—without forcing a completely new way of working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

What I dislike about Windows 11

The Start menu and Settings still nudge Microsoft services, Edge, and Store apps in ways that feel more like marketing than genuine help. For me, that undermines the sense of a clean, professional desktop.

Search also continues to blend local results with web content and promotions, which makes it harder to keep things focused. Copilot may be optional, but it adds yet another surface area that not everyone asked for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I’m a software developer, so my PC is basically split between work and play. On Windows 11, what works best for me is the day-to-day workflow: multiple monitors, snapping windows into a sensible layout, WSL when I need Linux-ish tooling without leaving the desktop, and the ability to keep a browser, IDE, terminals, and Docker running at the same time without the OS feeling like the bottleneck. Gaming is the nice payoff on the same machine—solid scheduler behavior, straightforward GPU driver updates, and the Xbox / Game Bar features when I want quick captures or party chat.

What I still run into as a dev is the usual Windows friction: an occasionally inconsistent UI (new Settings vs. old panels), update timing when I’m in the middle of something, and defaults that push Microsoft services more than I need. None of that typically stops me from shipping code; it’s mostly extra housekeeping and small interruptions.

In one sentence: Windows 11 gives me a single, flexible machine where I can build software seriously and unwind with games, without having to maintain two separate environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Windows 11: Fast and Productive Environment for Developers"

5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

Windows 11 is the most stable and adopted version and has many useful features. The file manager's multi-window support has made it easy to multitask, open multiple windows, and manage different file operations easily. The multi-desktop feature too is very helpful for devs to operate different things in different sections. The Microsoft Copilot has evolved a lot and helps users in many tasks, generations, and support. The OS feels fast and snappy compared to other OSs. The onboarding too is fast and easy. Even if anything is broken, there are options to recover and get back to the previous state; support and backup options are great. For devs, the integration and support mean a lot, and we have to work with many tools, and Windows 11 makes it hassle-free and easy for any integrations. The WSL solves the Linux support issues, and there are many options to get your work done. I have had it for more than 6 years, and still it works flawlessly as if it were new. The performance and everything are the same as new. So it's worth the value. I had the windows already attached to my laptop, which made it easy to access and get direct support with my machine.

the most used features by me:

As a developer, I tend to use multiple desktops and split windows most often, saving me a lot of hustle and back and forth. Also, installing and configuring anything is also too fast and easy, saving me a lot of time daily. The passkey login too is a great feature, as I don't have to manually enter passcodes and can just use passkeys to log in anywhere. Task Manager makes it easy to troubleshoot or monitor the processes and software on my machine. The ecosystem of Microsoft is great for us; the backup by OneDrive, Microsoft 365, Teams, and everything works tightly together for my daily workaround. I use OneNote for my daily notetaking and all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Windows 11 comes with WSL, which is a great thing, but on my machine, the WSL is somehow not working and turns off with just a terminal flash. The WSL also needs some space, which takes my drive space for a terminal of Linux I need to use as a dev. So that Linux thing feels a little bit off, as a dev I have the most work to be done with Linux. If we get the Unix support in the box, it can be very easy and useful.

The WiFi and Bluetooth are also not so stable and sometimes make connection issues on my machine. Connecting my buds takes sometimes longer than expected, and the same goes for WIFI; the WIFI shows low availability even if they are nearby. And one issue I have picked is that if in my phone I have hotspot mode in WPA3-personal, the PC can connect to this hotspot; instead, I have to make it WPA2. This also makes it bad for it.

In my older PC, I have gotten blue screens too many times, which is a ridiculous and unproductive thing I had in my older Windows machine. The machine once had crashed too, and I had to change the version of my Windows that time. Earlier on my laptop too I had this scene several times, but after repair and version change things are looking and working great.

Also, I suggest this feature must be added:

When I bought the PC, I had done the onboarding, and while I had set the password there. Which, after a month, I forgot, and this made me unable to use any of the Windows features like Sheets, PowerPoint, and any of the suite. The OneDrive support and everything were locked by password. So I suggest an option of "forgot password" there, which doesn't void the support and license. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Windows 11, I had used Windows 8 and Windows 10, but 11 feels like a major update, and in 11 alone there are many updates pushed in 11 that were worth it. Earlier we had to open multiple file explorers for copy-paste or moving and had to go back and forth between the folders, which now has been solved by the multi-window support in tabs, saving time and efforts. The Microsoft suite too has improved a lot with the integration of Copilot; anything can be made in a snappy time and also with the use of inbuilt AI features, the generation capabilities are also very useful for emergent cases and meetings. Instead, purchasing another agent or model might cost more, but the built-in agent support makes it a saving in cost and great support too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Interface, Excellent Compatibility"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I really like the very intuitive interface of Windows 11 and how I can organize my tabs with settings to position windows and have better visibility. Also, I loved how easy it was to install and configure from the start, as it is very intuitive, guiding me step by step to adjust it to my needs. I also appreciate the compatibility with different programs and the ease with which I can connect devices like the Xbox controller, microphones, or headphones via Bluetooth. The adaptability with tools like Stream Deck and the buttons on my keyboard that work correctly is also great. Additionally, I feel secure with the security tools that Windows 11 provides to protect me from viruses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

The problem solver, since the audio outputs can have a lot of noise or not work correctly, and to fix the drivers I have to do it manually. I would like the solver to work correctly. I would also like to have more information about the drivers used. Sometimes, Windows 11 has issues with some After Effects plugins and fails when using those libraries or when connecting the Media Encoder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Windows 11 makes it easier for me to be compatible with my programs, its use is simple and the tools are abundant. The intuitive interface allows me to better organize my work and devices connect easily. Additionally, it offers integrated security tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
