"Versatile and Customizable, But Hardware Issues Persist"

5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I really appreciate the versatility of Windows 11. There's little you can't do on Windows. If you need a program to connect an iPhone to a Windows PC, you could figure it out, unlike on a Mac where connecting an Android isn't straightforward. Windows 11 is customizable in just about every way, and if you find pain points, you can usually work around them without avoiding warranties, though it might mean reinstalling Windows. I also found the initial setup effortless, basically just clicking buttons. With the stellar hardware I have, the performance of Windows tends to be very good, handling video and Photoshop work well without stressing my machine. It's a highly versatile and very often supported operating system, unlike some others out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

I find the hardware variation with Windows to be a bit challenging. You don't really know what your Windows PC is going to be able to do. It could range from being very powerful to pretty much worthless. Unlike Apple, where any Mac you pull out of the box is at least going to be good for the average user, Windows computers require dealing with drivers and dependencies. Also, RAM optimization on Windows isn't ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Windows 11 is highly versatile, widely supported, and handles hardware well, offering good performance for tasks like video editing and gaming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Transition, Robust Features, Minor Hardware Hurdles"

4/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I find Windows 11 incredibly valuable for my engineering courses, coding in Python, and 3D modeling on software like Spaceclaim. The snap layout tool is a game changer for coding, allowing me to arrange my Python IDE, programming manuals, and mathematical proofs efficiently in one window. The native support of WSL2, or Windows Subsystem for Linux, is extremely convenient for running Python scripts in a Linux-based shell without the need for dual booting, solving the sluggishness and file system incompatibility issues I faced before. The file explorer's tabs are very useful for navigating through my engineering projects and CAD directories, making it easy to switch between them without opening different windows. The new AI and hardware compatibility capabilities are great for reducing the time needed to render images and videos. I also appreciate the modern and uncluttered design of the user interface. The initial setup was smooth and user-friendly, which allowed me to return to my work quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Even though the operating system is very efficient, the hardware requirements such as TPM 2.0 may be quite limiting for some students who may have relatively old but powerful laptops or computers. The customization of the start menu is also quite limiting when compared to past versions; it would be nice if the size of the pin section could be modified or the recommended part could be stripped away altogether. Moreover, although WSL2 works well, it may sometimes consume too much RAM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Windows 11 boosts my productivity with stable engineering simulations and CAD software, and its Snap Layout optimizes my coding workspace. WSL2 addresses file system issues, and AI compatibility speeds up rendering. The file explorer's tabs simplify navigating CAD directories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My Multitasking Workflow"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I like the improved multitasking features the most. Snap Layouts make it easy to organize my CRM, email, and student files side by side, which keeps my admissions workflow fast and efficient. For example, I use multi-view when I need to keep a report open while working through an admissions workflow in our CRM (VIAS). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Windows 11 pushes frequent updates, and they sometimes interrupt work or require restarts at inconvenient times. They do have options on setting times but a lot of times it seems to forget the update window or it will encourage you to update it towards the end of the day instead of updating overnight/later hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Windows 11 solves the problem of managing multiple admissions tools at once. Snap Layouts let me keep my CRM, email, and student files neatly organized on screen, which helps speed up application processing. Windows 10 could do something similar, but it wasn’t as clean or as accessible. Windows 11 makes it much easier to work this way, especially when I’m using multiple screens. "Windows 11 best operating system"

5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I really liked using Windows 11 in many aspects, meaning when the update was released on September 20, 2021, I saw significant changes both in terms of graphics and speed. Microsoft did a masterpiece. I had installed Windows 10, and they did an upgrade, obviously with PCs that met the requirements, and everything was improved starting from security, etc. In the work environment, almost all devices use Windows 11 as the operating system. It is very smooth and lightweight, and in case of errors (blue screens), it manages to correct them on its own. Moreover, it is perfect in all its aspects, excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

What bothered me was the fact that having the license for Windows 11 Pro, the PC, with protection on the "C" drive, encrypted all the files completely. Therefore, I had to set up 2 partitions in the BIOS: one for Linux and the other for the Windows operating system with all its folders. I was prompted to enter the key at startup to unlock the WINDOWS drive, which was very annoying. Fortunately, I had the key on a USB stick, otherwise I would have been forced to format the drive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problems that need to be solved in Windows 11 are with MICROSOFT EDGE, a very slow search engine. The Microsoft Bing search engine is very annoying; I don't find it functional at all. For example, if you search for something, it gives you fewer results than well-known engines, in addition to the fact that it heavily burdens the operating system by running in the background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Software Support at the Cost of System Control"

1.5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

The best part of Windows 11 is the polished UI and the Snap Layouts feature, which makes organizing multiple windows very easy. I also appreciate the universal hardware support; I never have to worry if a printer or a new webcam will work. The integration with the broader ecosystem of professional apps is also a major plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

My primary pain point is the heavy system resource usage and background telemetry, which negatively impacts overall performance compared to a lean system like Debian. From a UX perspective, the presence of pre-installed bloatware and ads in the Start menu feels intrusive and lowers the professional ROI of the OS. Furthermore, the lack of granular control over forced updates disrupt my daily workflow, and I believe the onboarding process would be much improved if Microsoft offered a more minimal installation option that respects user privacy and allows for greater system autonomy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using Windows 11, I struggled with hardware compatibility and the lack of native support for industry-standard professional software. Windows 11 solved this by providing a universal ecosystem where every peripheral and application from Microsoft Office to specialized drivers runs immediately without manual configuration. This benefited me by eliminating the hours I previously spent troubleshooting software workarounds or searching for alternative tools. Having a ready-to-go environment meant I could focus entirely on my output rather than system maintenance, resulting in a significantly faster onboarding process for new projects and ensuring 100% compatibility when collaborating with clients who use the same ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I shifted to Windows 11 mainly for my daily work, and overall it’s been a good experience. I run multiple things at the same time like Chrome tabs, WhatsApp, Excel, and sometimes VirtualBox for testing (I use Kali Linux inside it). The system handles multitasking quite smoothly. I personally like the snap feature because it helps me arrange windows quickly when I’m working on different tasks together. Also, the overall look feels more updated compared to Windows 10 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

One thing I noticed is that some settings are not where I expect them to be. It takes extra time sometimes to find basic options. Also, when I was setting up VirtualBox, I faced a few errors and had to troubleshoot them manually. It’s not a big issue, but not fully straightforward either. What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

For me, it helps in managing multiple workflows at once. I’m involved in hotel operations and real estate work, so I need to switch between tasks quickly. Running business tools along with testing environments in VirtualBox without major lag is a big plus. It saves time and keeps my work smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its most useful aspect is the multitasking feature like snap layouts, along with Pro features like BitLocker and Remote Desktop. Overall, It's fast and secure, making it excellent for both work and daily use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

I am using Windows 11 Pro, and what I didn't like is that, due to its new layout, finding certain settings has become difficult, and the start menu feels a bit more limited compared to before Windows version. Additionally, updates sometimes introduce issues or bugs, and some features feel useless (widgets) or require too many clicks to use. Overall, it is good, but there is still room for improvement. "Smooth Transition, Boosted Performance with Minor Glitches"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

I find Windows 11 to be very user-friendly and helpful for day-to-day activities. The performance and security improvements are noticeable compared to the previous version. The UI looks great, and I appreciate the built-in apps like the Snipping Tool, Photos app, and Accessibility tools, which aid in performing daily tasks. The Snipping Tool helps in taking snapshots of issues during test activities, and the Photos app allows me to edit and highlight problematic areas effectively. The transition from Windows 10 to Windows 11 was very smooth, and the initial setup was very easy, with the ability to schedule updates conveniently. With Copilot AI, task becomes easier to complete. What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Sometimes I see BSOD after overnight use of Windows 11. The only problem I see so far is, Windows 11 hangs sometimes if we continuously use it. At the end of the day, without shutting your laptop, if you close, the next day we see the BSOD problem sometimes, which is really not satisfactory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

I find Windows 11 user-friendly for day-to-day tasks, with better performance and security. Built-in apps like Snipping Tool and Photos app help annotate issues. The UI looks great, and the upgrade provided great performance improvement over Windows 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Neat, Well-Organized UI and Easier Multitasking in Windows 11"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Windows 11?

Windows 11 is much better now than earlier editions of Windows. I’ve noticed that multitasking has become easier, and the interface feels neat and well-organized. Accessibility also seems improved. There are lots of user-friendly additions too, like Focus Hour (just one example), along with several other features that I’ve really liked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Despite all the UI enhancements, I feel that Windows 11 is a bit slow, especially when opening File Explorer. Also, every time I have to set up a Microsoft account, which feels unnecessary. In previous versions of Windows it wasn’t forced, and this adds a delay when starting up for the first time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Its enhanced multi-tasking capabilities have increased my productivity. In earlier versions of Windows, security was a major concern, and I had to buy bulky software. Thanks to Microsoft for improving the security layer in Windows 11, I’m almost worry-free now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
