Compataility is mindblowing that you can plug as many random components you've got together and windows will run with it, no problems. Compare with apple, who only have to deal with their own hardware. Every feature you can think of is supported in some way, from lockdown-kids mode to enteprise workstation managed completely remotely all over the world, you can integrate windows very easily into any IT setup. Customer support - excellent, not only can you google most problems but eventually get Microsoft support people to help 24/7. I'm using windows 10 almost every day (see dislike points) and Windows used to be my main daily OS for about 20 years. **What do you dislike about Windows 11?** The UI changes between Win10 and Win11 are the worst. The UI now combines all the windows from an app into one icon. To switch between you have to hover over and select from the thumbnail. No option to switch back to the previous behaviour, and to serious miltitaskers, this is a real time waste. I used to prefer Windows combined with Linux subsystem for tools, but since the UI now is almost identical to OSX, and mac hardware is much better (although more expensive) I really don't miss it now I use the Macbook Pro most days and Windows once in a while. Assume you have a choice of OS, I would say it's Win 10, OSX, Ubuntu, ChromeOS. Modern software requires this operating system at this time. There's no support for Windows 7 anymore. I really dislike the big navigation pane that comes popping up when one hovers over the windows icon. It's clunky and not at all useful for me. I'm used to using Windows 7 and found it comfortable. It does not require any technical ability and in fact, makes it really difficult for the average user to mess something up accidentally because they don't know what they're doing. Because of this, the average user is pretty clueless as to what is actually going on behind the scenes. **What do you dislike about Windows 11?** There are many reasons that I dislike Windows. The main one is the amount of vulnerabilities rated 7 and over on the CVSS scale is shocking and frankly should not be allowed. If it was an open-source and free software I would definitely understand but it is neither of those. **Recommendations to others considering Windows 11:** Don't. It is as simple as that. The initial switch from Windows to either MacOS or Linux will definitely be hard for most people, but it is absolutely worth it. It doesn't feel like much of a step up from Windows 8, at least not in terms of making personal or work use more productive or intuitive. The aesthetic is better than pre-8 versions of windows, and I like how it is built to be used with a touch interface. **What do you dislike about Windows 11?** It comes preloaded with a ton of unnecessary apps that slow down the computer, which I had to go through and delete at work. I also do not like the way apps are organized in the Start menu. I wish I didn't have to search everytime I wanted to use a program and pin it to my taskbar or cram it onto my desktop to have access to it. ALSO I updated my ASUS laptop with WIndows 10, and it destroyed it. It won't go past the initial screen with the ASUS logo on it. Apparently, even though I was prompted to update my version of Windows, it wasn't compatible with my hardware. Thanks Windows. **Recommendations to others considering Windows 11:** As I said, I feel Google offers a better integrated platform for collaboration and file sharing. If I worked in a company that was related to arts and media, I'd recommend Macbooks instead of Windows 10 as well. **What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some of the apps for Windows10 are helpful for organizing my tasks, like Wunderlist. But, honestly, I wish we all used chromebooks because I find they are faster, better for file sharing and collaboration with the suite of Google Apps made for the chromebook. ### 29. There should be a way to recover your data if you lose any of the latest two. **Recommendations to others considering Windows 11:** If you're going to use it, you better print your key and keep it somewhere like really safe, usb flashdrives or files can get corrupted or lost, but a piece of paper can be easily saved in a very safe place so you can access your files when needed and keep them really secured. **What problems is Windows 11 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Protecting sensitive info, creditcard info, personal photos, documents, etc. ## Windows 11 Discussions -
