## Windfall Reviews
 ### 1. Windfall helps me create an action plan with each donor.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

What I find most helpful is that the information Windfall provides is truly actionable. Their research gives me real, concrete insight into a donor, which helps me decide how best to engage with them and steward the relationship. Net wealth is useful, but on its own, it doesn’t tell me what a donor’s passions are—such as the other nonprofits, charities, and political activities they support. Since we have a lobbyist and several programs that address different areas, like science education and evidence-based medicine, it’s valuable to know whether a donor is interested in politics, social policy, education, medical research, or secular humanism.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I honestly can't find anything to dislike. I've always been well taken care of by Windfall.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We call them “hidden gems”: donors who have the capacity to give but lack engagement or a meaningful giving history. Windfall helps us easily identify these individuals and steward them more effectively.

 ### 2. Great for Identifying Major Donor Prospects

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chloé L. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall has been very helpful in revealing which prospects have the capacity to become major donors.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I'm not sure I trust the outputs every time. For one prospect, their Net Worth was listed at $16 million, but they told me they were unable to commit to more than $10 / month. So perhaps all their wealth is tied up in real estate? I'm not sure.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me focus my efforts on affluent individuals whose values align with our work.

 ### 3. Great Support, better targeting and stronger insights into our system.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry C. | HR Director & Data Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Provides a different way of looking at the data and gives us better insights into who we should be working on targeting in our strategies. Easy User interface which integrates well with our systems, along with the support which we get makes the process easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

At this point I don't have any negative things to say.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product/process has expanded how we build our engagement strategies for the organization.

 ### 4. Amazing Customer Service - Valuable Information

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica B. | Assistant Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall continues to have amazing customer service and never fail to answer my questions quickly. They are always willing to help me digest the information they provide and their data allows me to notice trends in giving and adjust as needed for our major donors.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

The cost can be a deterrent but it's very much worth the money.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our non-profit benefits from Windfall by receiving important wealth analytics for our affluent donors. While we know many of our donors' wealth potential, we do get surprised by affluent donors that have flown under the radar and need more contact made.

 ### 5. Clear Insights That Support Strategic Giving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Working with Windfall has been incredibly valuable for our organization. The platform provides actionable insights that help us better understand our donor base and make more strategic decisions. What I appreciate most is the combination of high-quality data and a supportive team. Their onboarding and support have always been excellent.
Windfall has helped us refine our fundraising strategy, identify new opportunities, and approach our work with greater confidence. It’s a tool I now consider essential, and I would highly recommend it to any nonprofit looking to strengthen its understanding of donor capacity and improve long-term relationship building.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Like any data platform, not every record is complete or perfectly accurate, so it works best when combined with internal knowledge and relationship context.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall helps us get a clearer picture of our donor community and understand where to focus our time and energy. Instead of guessing, we’re able to make more informed decisions about outreach and stewardship. It’s made our fundraising work feel more strategic and efficient, and it helps us have more thoughtful, well-timed conversations with supporters.

 ### 6. Transforms Donor Engagement with Rich Details and Easy Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lily S.

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

I like using Windfall because it is an effective wealth screening tool that integrates well with our CRM. I appreciate the level of detail it provides about high-net-worth individuals, which allows us to personalize our outreach efforts better. I also find it valuable to see properties owned, recent familial happenings, life events, and areas of philanthropic interest, as this helps us paint a richer portrait of our donor database to see them as real people. Additionally, the initial setup of Windfall was easy, and their customer service is great.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Windfall could potentially introduce pre-determined suggested giving amounts for each donor based on their areas of interest and net worth.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Windfall as an effective wealth screening tool for nonprofit fundraising, integrating it with our CRM. It provides detailed information about high-net-worth individuals, helping in personalizing outreach efforts and painting a richer portrait of our donor database.

 ### 7. Effortless Fundraising Insights with Seamless Salesforce Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aaron K. | Database Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Excellent tool that is easy to use, easy to connect to Salesforce, come with infinite lookups, and data is updated every Friday. Whenever I need information for our fundraising team, the information is there and up-to-date. Also, the few times I've used their customer service team, they've been responsive, fast, and extremely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

It can be hard to manually push a specific donor record to Windfall (though it's possible that the donor just doesn't have a lot of publicly available giving data, so that's possible)

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping with strategic targeting for our fundraising efforts, and specifically finding those low-dollar donors who might be able to increase their level of giving.

 ### 8. Efficient Donor Management with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas T.

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

I appreciate Windfall's straightforward integration, which made the initial setup simple and seamless for us. It was easy to follow the integration guide with our CRM, enhancing our workflow efficiency quickly. The customer service is exceptionally responsive, providing prompt assistance and resolving issues effectively, which feels more like a collaborative partnership than just a service provider. I found their training sessions on the tool to be thorough and helpful without being overly aggressive during our vetting phase, ensuring that we maximized our understanding and use of Windfall. The segmentation capabilities of Windfall are particularly valuable, allowing us to focus on immediate and strategic efforts such as Giving Tuesday, proving the tool's impact on our donor engagement strategies.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I find the time it takes for segments to compile to be an issue. The current process of data coming back takes a week, which we wish could be faster so that we could respond to donors in a segmented way within 48 hours of their first gift. A daily data feed would be really useful to have eventually to better suit our workflow.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Windfall to prioritize and rank donors, improving our fundraising strategy through effective segmentation.

 ### 9. Windfall is an excellent tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Performing Arts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall is a great tool for taking wealth screening into account for nonprofit development work. It integrates well with Neon CRM, and I have been impressed by their support and resources sharing best practices.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

A decent percentage of people do not match in Windfall, but that is baked into a system designed around accurate and high-quality data.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall has helped my organization consider which people and resources are in our community already and how we might connect with them.

 ### 10. Valuable Existing Donor Insights Allowing for Strategic Appeals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall gives us wealth insights into donors who have already connected with our organization in some way (current or past donor, volunteer, or event attendee).

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Windfall only reports on donors with a net worth of $1M or more. I think we could do even more targeted outreach if the baseline was a bit less, $500K or $750K, especially for younger donors still building wealth.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to target appeals and special proposals according to capacity, coupled with the nonprofit giving codes and past engagement with our organization.

 ### 11. Excellent for Discovering Hidden Donors and Streamlining Outreach

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamara G. | Director of Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

It is a great tool for finding hidden gem donors and lapsed donors. It helps me filter my pipeline and narrow in on who to focus my energy with outreach. The customer support has also been wonderful!

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I am still learning all the tools and wish I had time to learn the software better.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Choosing what donors to focus on.

 ### 12. Accurate, Readily Available Data—But Report Pulling Could Be More Straightforward

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Availability of data and accuracy of data.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Report pulling - not the most straightforward.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donor prospecting and donor research.

 ### 13. Really good product, excellent customer service support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie L. | Manager of Prospect Research & Portfolio Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The net worth ratings do appear to be accurate, for the most part, and attributed to the correct people. It is easy to self-serve lists for screening in the portal. Unlimited runs of data in the contract year is a big plus, so you can run lots of data, in big or small batches, as much as you want. They do provide various wealth markers (Y/N columns for ownership of multiple properties, or exotic cars, etc) in addition to the net worth estimate. It's data that is easily interpretable, and gift officers respond well to the simplicity of what it is -- pure wealth estimate. Customer support is always very responsive, and they are proactive in reaching out to schedule check-ins.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

The data output is just an excel spreadsheet, so it does feel like there is some definite process planning you have to sort out to make sure the data gets where it needs to go to be helpful and integrated into your other reporting. I forget if they have any integrations with CRMs -- if they do, that would be very helpful (but is also an additional cost). Windfall is also a little pricey considering it ONLY screens for people with $1 million+ net worth. So you have to supplement with other wealth screeners if you want a comprehensive picture of your pipeline from annual fund up through major gifts.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us segment our major gift prospects with clarity.

 ### 14. Amazing resource for fundraisers everywhere.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debra C. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

We were looking for a robust alternative to iWave, and one that integrated cleanly with Hubspot. Windfall checks all of those boxes, *and* the support team is amazing to work with. We've been using Windfall for a few months now, and just added another subscription to a different product. We've also canceled iWave and I doubt we'll ever look for another wealth screening tool again.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Honestly, I love Windfall, I love the team, and I really love how affordable the product is.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have over 50,000 small dollar donors, and we needed a way to quickly screen this large prospect list to figure out how to best deploy our major gift resources. Windfall fits the bill, and it integrates directly with Hubspot, and honestly, I can't say enough good things about Windfall.

 ### 15. Windfall is a great wealth screening platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parissa A. | Development Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

I am grateful for the wealth screening data points Windfall provides for our donor pool. I've come to rely very heavily on the set of fields we've opted to pull in on our donor contact records in Salesforce. It is very helpful to be able to identify prospects because they've generated this wealth screening information. It allows our development team to determine what group of people to focus on for tailored stewardship and engagement opportunities. We also really enjoy working with McCurdy and Lauren who are both warm, kind and extremely knowledgeable in the fundraising space and help us get the most out of our Windfall integration that we intend to use indefinitely!

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I don't dislike anything about Windfall, but wish that it could include age of our donors.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are allowing us to better segment our donor audiences and determine who to keep on our radar and steward more personally by way of prospect lists.

 ### 16. Windfall

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose C. | Director of Advancement Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

My organization has used Windfall for about 7 months, and this product has been extremely helpful for us as we look to navigate the most ideal donor prospects. Their initial onboarding was very straighforwad and implementing their product was very easy. Because of their services, we have been able to identify individuals that would otherwise slip under our radar. We frequently use Windfall in all of our reporting. It has helped provide us a more complete picture of what our population really looks like, and where to find them. The customer service has been superb as well! Seth is always available to quickly answer questions, and always guides us on the correct path. I highly recommend their services to any organization that is looking to boost their prospect pool and find high-quality donors.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

At this moment in time, I truly havent found any reason to dislike windfall.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had issues in the past identifying which individuals in our population to target for potential solicitations. Windfall has helped to identify which records are the best to reach out to with the data that they provide us.

 ### 17. Excellent wealth screening tool with added functionality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan C. | Chief Development Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

In addition to providing net worth, it provides numerous key datapoints such as political party affiliation, if they have a trust, have experienced a wealth event, etc. In addition it has LinkedIn built in which provides employer information and a link to their individual LinkedIn profile (other companies sell that as a standalone product!). It als integrates with our Salesforce database which enables us to combine it with reports and assists with segmenting our mass emails.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Would be nice if it provided a target ask range. Though some of the other vendors I've experienced who have this it isn't all that accurate anyways.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Numerous benefits:
1) It helps our regional development officers identify top prospects.
2) When donations come in online, I would normally glance over a $25 donation, but when I see they have a $10M net worth, they get an immediate phone call, which has lead to further increased donations.
3) We learn a lot more about the donor before going into the meeting and it helps us make the right ask.

 ### 18. Game-Changer for Data-Driven Fundraising

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlotte B. | Assistant Director of Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall is a powerful wealth screening tool that provides accurate, real-time data to help identify high-potential donors. Its insights go beyond raw numbers, offering a deeper understanding of wealth capacity. The platform is user-friendly, with an intuitive interface and strong customer support. Windfall remains an essential asset for data-driven fundraising. I highly recommend it to development professionals looking to enhance donor engagement and strategy.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Windfall does not provide data on individuals with a net worth below one million dollars, which could limit some insights.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall helps solve the challenge of identifying and prioritizing high-capacity donors by providing accurate, real-time wealth data. This allows us to focus our fundraising efforts on individuals with the greatest potential to contribute, making donor outreach more strategic and efficient.

 ### 19. Paradigm shifting tool. A real game changer for our organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yvonne J. | Director Of Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall has uncovered actionable wealth analytics that changed our organization's understanding of our constituents, their philanthropic interests, and their capacity to support our mission.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Un.like a number of other standard wealth analytics platforms, Windfall does not provide the usual donor profile report or giving ratings. However, you can use Windfall's data to pull together a customized report

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall is giving us valuable, specific, wealth metrics about the constituents in our CRM that helps us have a clear picture of who we are engaging with, what they're interested in supporting, and their capacity to contribute.

 ### 20. Game Changing Tool, Amazing Customer Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caroline R. | Philanthropy Partner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall brings endless amounts of valuable information to the surface about our current and potential donors. It is a perspective that has opened the eyes of our development team in a new way. McCurdy has been amazing to work with, she is patient and understanding guiding us as we learn all the potential benefits of screened data and best practices in how to use the valuable information.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Our team has not experienced any downsides with Windfall.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall has been able to provide a data-driven perspective of our donor pool and potential donor pool. These valuable insights have opened our development team's eyes on the many ways to use this information to meet our goals.

 ### 21. Thoughts about Windfall

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremiah B. | Director of Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

We've had a positive experience of Windfall integrating with our existing platforms, which resulted in information and access to some high capacity donors for our campaign

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

It's not a plug and play product. We've had to have many conversations within our team and with the product team to refine exactly what we're looking for. However, customer support has been outstanding and worked with us to find our answers.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall has helped us find several high capacity donors that we would not have connected with just through our general processes. Our non-profit school has three different campuses and each one depends on its own donors. The Windfall system is versatile enough to all us to talk our unique situation.

 ### 22. A great addition to our CRM

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Galen D. | Chief Operating Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

I love that the wealth screening and reporting is linked bi-directionally with our CRM (NeonOne). Being able to combine the data between Neon and Windfall into a single report provides great visibility into who realistically could give more. The NAICS interests of those in our database (identified through Windfall) also gives us insight into how to better target marketing and social media campaigns.

The fact that we can have the data automatically updated every week is great!

Connecting it to Neon was fast and easy. (We love NeonOne's CRM, too, so it's marriage made in heaven.

Having an assigned customer success manager has been wonderful. She's been extremely helpful any time we have questions, etc.

I love their pricing model, too...you don't pay based on the number of constituents in your database or on how frequently you synch the data. That keeps the pricing very reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I really can't think of anything. Simply put, it's a great product.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying the donors we have that could potentially give more. Combining that with the CRM data (LYBUNT, SYBUNT) helps us pinpoint who we should reach out to.

 ### 23. Excellent Customer Service, Valuable Partner to Reaching Goals, Great for small Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall has been a critical partner in helping our small shop with small goals reach historic new achievements. The platform is easy to work with, and the team is exceptionally responsive. The data has been reliable and very useful as we strategically designed new initiatives to develop a culture of philanthropy at our institution. Highly recommend.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

There is nothing specific we dislike. It doesn't measure international wealth, which is part of our community, but we knew that going into our contract.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us prioritize.

 ### 24. Windfall, excellent partners in wealth analysis and the creation of predictive models.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pamela B. | Executive Director of Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The team communicates effectively and thoroughly. They walk you through their process of model creation which helps establish a baseline quickly.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

All predictive model work is an ongoing work in progress and the learning curve is somewhat steep.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall is helping us sort new clients into those who are most likely to become donors to the organization.

 ### 25. Great propensity scoring tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam B. | Senior Director, Annual Giving, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Their predictive modeling has saved our organization time and money, while increasing our yield from low engagement populations.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

We have no downsides to report almost two years into our engagement.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a large population of individuals who have a low engagement level with our organization. Their model, built on our data, has helped surface those most likely to convert in the next twelve months. They have helped us better invest our resources to improve our yield from those constituents.

 ### 26. A best practice in prospect development and campaign segmentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan C. | Development Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall is an essential tool to uncover high net worth donors and fuel a consistent prospect pipeline. In addition to precise net worth, they provide real-time philanthropic insights and wealth attributes that help fundraisers make data-driven decisions.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Its challenging to evolve how we leverage/prioritize certain insights given the current (and ever changing) economic climate.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They help support staff with prospect research, event planning, and segmenting for donor communications.

 ### 27. Great wealth screening tool for fundraising!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob E. B. | Author, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The entire support team was very helpful through the entire process. I like the simplicity of the results returned (a net worth estimate and a giving likelihood score), and the fact that they build fully customized models that they are willing to tweak over the course of the subscription. Also, they are willing to investigate any particular issues we've found with specific records. All and all, we are very pleased with this product!

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

We haven't found any real downsides yet. The implementation has been an easy, thoughtful process.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall has helped us to narrow our prospect pool and focus on the best prospects.

 ### 28. Quick Turnaround with Accurate Results

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Philanthropy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

I appreciate that we have unlimited submissions. Which also allows me to submit one constituent as needed. As for the results, we never have to wait no more than three days for the results and they are easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

We don't have any dislikes or suggestions.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes I'll have a list or individual to submit. However, I need an ID for the submission. Our Rep has assigns ID(s) to push the request through. He also said he could show me how to assign IDs to complete the mapping.

 ### 29. The wealth screening tool you need!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Capacity screening and the Windfall analytics.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Nothing at this time. We have been happy with the product thus far.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A year ago we switched to Windfall from another screening service our organization had been using for years. There were many complaints about the old product and Windfall has solved all of them and more. First, the turnaround time for Windfall data is 1-2 days max versus the other product that sometimes took 2 -3 weeks. Second, if we chose to, our organization could submit a data load for screening every day. We enjoy the possibility of being able to keep our data "fresh." Third, we have been able to idenitfy additional information about prospects in our database based off of the information Windfall has sent back (i.e, ABC donor owns a plane, has a family foundation, etc.). In addition to the new wealth indicators identified, Windfalls' Money in Motion trigger has been beneficial to our development team. Last, but not least, is Windfall's customer service. They have, in my opinion, the best cusomter service of any product we use.

We have enjoyed Windfall so much that we are actively looking to expand our contract to include the Career Intelligence and an Integration to our new CRM.

 ### 30. Super Customer Service and a great Product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leslie T. | Prospect Research Manager, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Ease of use, accuracy of information, super customer service, quick answers to questions, many useful resources such as case studies, webinars, user guides, I could go on and on! Also have to mention that Kyle, Eric, and Marissa are oustanding collaborative partners, knowledgeable mentors, and all-around great people!

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Windfall is not an "automatic" system - you can't just look up somesone and get an answer immediately. It's a submission process and Windfall takes the time to give you verified and accurate information. As the primary contact and primary user, I understand the system, but that is something that others have trouble understanding. The only other downside is that you get so spoiled with the great information provided, there is a bit of disappointment when a match isn't returned (although that is completely understandable!)

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a very large, robust, and generous set of constituents and Windfall provides information that enables us to appropriately segment donors for assignment to relationship managers. It also gives front line fundraisers confidence that an ask is within a range that is attainable.

 ### 31. A game changer for major donor qualification

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The seemless integration with our CRM makes this an easy to use tool for all of our frontline fundraisers. We also really appreciate the propensity to give model and the strategic insights it gives us for making the best choices in our donor cultivation. Customer Service is phenomenal and the information security protocols are top notch.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I don't have any downsides of using Windfall.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a influx of donors when there is an emergency in the news and its often difficult to qualify them unless we have windfall data. We also have a large amount of lapsed donors who now can be qualified for outreach to reactivate.

 ### 32. Windfall: Exceptional Wealth Screening, Predictive Analytics, and Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher B. | Director of Individual Giving, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

In a crowded field of wealth screening providers, Windfall distinguishes itself with its unique predictive analytics, enabling organizations to efficiently identify and qualify donors most likely to make major gifts. What further sets Windfall apart is its outstanding customer service. They work closely with you to ensure that you’re getting the most out of the platform, maximizing its potential for your fundraising efforts. I highly recommend Windfall for development offices of all sizes.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

There are no downsides to using Windfall.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall is helping generate major gift leads, and assisting with donor identification and qualification.

 ### 33. Great screening tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall has been great at quickly and easily providing massive screens of our supporters to append helpful information to help us identify prospects within our existing supporter lists. It's not nearly as expensive as similar products and has enabled us to get info directly into our database (this took a little effort on our end, but no in a prohibitive way). We run screens monthly and their customer support has been stellar if any issues have ever come up.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I do wish there was a direct sync with our CRM, but it's not dealbreaker for us.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It reduced the burden of entry to information like wealth indicators due to it being a lower cost than any other competitors I'm aware of.

 ### 34. Windfall Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danita H. | Manager Philanthropic Prospect Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall offers a multitude of data points for research specialists to utilize in confirming wealth/capacity for their prospective donors. It's a fabulous tool for those in prospect research/development and offers many options for analysis and detailed perspective.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

As with all research and analysis tools, not everything can be uncovered via data mining.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Windfall primarily as a tool to determine prospects which can be further researched and utilized to discover possible relationships with my organization that could be enhanced and further engaged.

 ### 35. Windfall is an exceptional partner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danilyn W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

We started using Windfall for wealth screening in the late 2010's, and they have quickly become one of our most trusted vendors. We've found that Windfall offers a high degree of accuracy, insightful triggers, excellent customer service, and a partnership unlike other vendors. Through our experience, we've expanded our services from Windfall to tackle other solutions (including career intelligence and propensity data). Windfall has been especially accommodating to our organization's needs and feedback (desired product tweaks/expansion, data quality concerns/insights, customization (where appliccable)). They are always listening and improving based on customer feedback, further demonstrating their committment to the highest level of service and partnership.

Another added benefit worth mentioning is that Windfall is a subscription-based company, meaning that they do not charge per record, so we're able to screen our entire database each time. Regular full database screenings have led to better insights overall since we're able to measure results consistently on the same population.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

There's not much to dislike! As a few others have mentioned, households (parents + adult children) are sometimes grouped together, but Windfall is transparent about their processes and considerations customers should have in mind when using the data.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enhanced insights into pipeline movement.

 ### 36. Solid data and great customer service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Very responsive support team, for both technical questions and advice on how to use the data.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I dislike that, as a nonprofit, we can't afford to add on all of the available features and data points.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall helps us get a sense of our supporters' capacity and areas of interest. We can use Windfall data to prioritize donor cultivation, segment our mailing lists, deduplicate households, and generally get a better understanding of who our consituents are beyond our direct interactions.

 ### 37. Windfall Vendor Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tessa F. | Director of Research Strategies and Emerging Markets, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall has been a great vendor to partner with on Wealth Screenings. I have found that their wealth estimates are accurate/reasonable for the most part. We do extensive verification and I have been pleased with the results, particularly in expanding our understanding of who may hold $20M or more in estimated net worth. I like the simplicty of the data and the excellent customer service we recieve. It is not a stand-alone research tool so we suppliment other providers for verification but my confidence in WF's data is high.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Windfall requires other data providers to screen individuals for specific assets, however, we were aware of this from the beginning. Therefore, Windfall is likely not a turn-key solution for other shops and may be pricey as it does not eliminate other tools. Additionally, researchers should be aware that false positives are possible based upon children at parents' address and other considerations. We have developed processes to ensure our data is clean and accurate.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall's net worth estimates gives us additional insight in to the potential net worth of individuals. One place this has helped has been with people who live in midwestern states but are wealthy and their real estate assets are comparitively low to costal prospects. I have appreciated their matching processes. We do not get a data return for individuals whose net worth estimate is under $1M, however we also ultilize WF's propensity to give scores. This allows us to optimize pools of people who we may not spend individual researcher time to vet. We are rolling those PTG scores out to our development officers for their prospecting purposes.

 ### 38. Helped elevate our approach to individual givers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie G. | Director of Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Our organization is fortunate to have long term, loyal supporters and we have been able to prioritize outreach with the help of Windfall's data. It was easy to implement and start using. Their customer support is outstanding - I always get a quick reply. We upload monthly, but use the data in our day-to-day operations.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

At this time I do not have any complaints about Windfall.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall gives us the ability to verify capacity and work with individuals whose giving aligns with our mission.

 ### 39. Great tool for prospect research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerad T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

We've had a great experience with Windfall—the product and staff are top notch. The platform is very easy to use and, anecdotally, the quality of wealth data seems to be consistently higher than other services we've used in the past. We found it particularly helpful for our campaign prospecting efforts, as the net worth model works well for estimating/supporting multi-year pledge asks.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

The only negatives I can think of are cost (Windfall is a bit more expensive than other wealth screening services, which can be tricky for smaller organizations managing competing budget priorities) and inability to run one-off screenings. Otherwise, no complaints.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we have a relatively small shop, having Windfall to guide our portfolio management and campaign efforts has been incredibly helpful.

 ### 40. Great tool, excellent customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debbie M. | Director of Prospect Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

I have had the absolute best customer service from Windfall. Our dedicated rep, Katie, is so helpful and incredibly responsive. Other team members we've worked with have also been great, and any minor issues we've had have been resolved very fast. I've used a lot of wealth rating/tools in the past, and I have by far gotten the best service from Windfall.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

The only downside I've found to Windfall is that it doesn't have a dedicated portal to work in, where you can play with the data a bit like some other tools offer. However, we knew going into it that Windfall didn't provide that, and still find the tool to be very worth it and the data we get is very high quality!

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The greatest problem Windfall has solved for us is that it analyzes our ENTIRE database, and not just a small segment. This has allowed us to look at prospects we would not have included if we were forced to choose a segment of our database to screen. It helps us prioritize prospects for review.

 ### 41. Windfall is easy-to-use, affordable, and powerful.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Museums and Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall provides us with an important layer of data to use alongside our regular asks. Knowing more about the wealth of our constituents helps us customize our ask by using different strategies for wealthier constituents. It also makes asks easier when you already have confidence that a donor is contibuting to similar causes. While it's not going to do deep research into each of your constituents, it can help you prioritize and focus your own research into donors who have much greater capacity. It also helps with data stewardship in the sense that getting a full-confidence match saves you time when you may need to do more independent research otherwise.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Windfall does not have many downsides to it. I would like better online resources from the platform (webinars, case studies, etc.) to share with leaders and board members about how this data can be used better. I also wish that it integrated directly with my CRM.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding our constituency better and prioritizing high-level asks only to those who have capacity. It saves us time on prospect research and other donation related needs.

 ### 42. Fantastic partners with an exceptional focus on customer success!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig L. | Executive Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

We have been "clients" of Windfall since pretty early in their development as a company. I put "clients" in quotation because they truly are one of those companies that could be better described as a "partnership". They check-in regularly regarding the quality of their work and do listen and make changes based on our feedback. They even proactively provide us with quality checks and recommendations for improvement in our own dataset and processs in order to help ensure that our screenings are as effective as possible. When we started with them it was on a limited basis with only the basic offerings but as we have identified more and more strategic initiatives as an organization we have increased the data and services that we are getting from them and are always looking for ways to leverage Windfall more.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

There is not much to dislike about Windfall as they typically address needs and concerns quickly and if there is a gap in service they typically provide a roadmap to a potential future solution that you can plan towards.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More complete and quality information on high capacity prospects.

 ### 43. The people at Windfall have always done what they promised to do!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The helpful people. Lauren is great. She has been an excellent advisor.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

I can't think of anything I don't like. No downsides

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to identify the affluent people who might want to donate.

 ### 44. Satisfied Windfall Customer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The unlimited screenings and the accurate wealth screening information

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Nothing, very pleased with our relationship

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us located our most successful members of our community

 ### 45. Data seemingly more accurate than competitors, but no one-off look up function

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall has worked well for us as we screen donors for wealth and philanthropic giving capacity. The data seems to be more accurate than other similar tools we have used, and it has not been a problem for us that it only screens net worth ≥$1,000,000. The connection to our CRM seems seamless, and customer service has been good.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Windfall doesn't have a platform for one-off look-ups (as some of its competitors do). While the CRM API works well, it would be nice to be able to look up individuals here and there between data uploads. I've also noticed that there are individuals for whom Windfall does not have data. While I understand (and am okay with) their model of only providing data for those with a net worth of ≥$1,000,000, it seems there are others for whom there is no data.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall is giving us data on donor net worth, which may translate to philanthropic capacity. We have found that this data seems to be more accurate that other competitors we have used in the past. The data helps us to appropriately calibrate ask amounts.

 ### 46. Superior tool for prospecting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel P. | Senior Advisor, Prospect Research and Strategy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The customer success team takes every step to ensure data modeling is carried out accurately and effectively. They translate complex ideas in data science so that development teams can implement the results with ease.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Our partnership is coming up on one year, and I've had zero negative experiences in that time. We had some implementation growing pains, but those were strictly internal -- and Windfall worked with us along the way.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our donor database is massive. We've used modeling products in the past but were turned off by the lack of transparency. Windfall has worked with us to identify principal gift prospects and design an actionable cultivation strategy.

 ### 47. Actionable insights, helpful staff

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Research Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The Windfall staff are extremely helpful and eager to help clients make the most of their data. The tool is easy to use and we've been able to enhance our existing data significantly through our use of the product.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

As a Blackbaud CRM customer, building a new home within the database for our Windfall data has been a bit of a struggle.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall allows us to corroborate existing screening tools or correct screenings that may have been inaccurate. It also provides supplementary information through it's many "triggers" and the job title and company information it is able to provide to our institution.

 ### 48. What's not to love about Windfall?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

Windfall not only has the best data but will always be there to help you along the way! The data they provide allows you to maximize your database and set up a solid development plan.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

Is having too much data available to you a bad thing? Is having your every ask completed a bad thing?

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windfall has helped us learn more about our donors and prospects to refine our connecting points and create better relationships. They also assisted us with our digital fundraising, specifically our online ads and were very helpful as we went through problems on our end!

 ### 49. Windfall Review from Newer User

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danita H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The data breakdown is very helpful to us as we are shaping our Grateful Family program.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

The data provided is very helpful but because the information set is proprietary it's sometimes difficult to confirm the data.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are screening patient families and assessing their net worth to determine if a donor connection can be found and a relationship created that goes beyond patient family.

 ### 50. An invaluable service for my membership organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Director of Systems, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Windfall?**

The speed of updates, the ease of connectivity, the attitude & professionalism of their team, and the accuracy of their data.

**What do you dislike about Windfall?**

In general, there are no dislikes after 4 years of a partnership.

**What problems is Windfall solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to effectively build a major donor development plan with high capacity individuals. Now the data is doing the heavy lifting and donations are coming in.
