Ease of use and functionality. Users can share photographs, user engagement etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Whova? Very poor customer service. Not transparent pricing structure. User interface on the app is not very inviting. We were double billed by WHOVA for the Sponsorship package. We initially paid for 10 sponsors and then upgraded to 20 by paying a difference. We then wanted to upgrade with the same logic to the unlimited sponsors by paying the difference. To our surprise, we were asked to pay the full price of the package for unlimited sponsors and WHOVA would not apply a credit for the 20 package sponsor we had paid for. This is a double billing practice and not an ethical business practice. What was more disappointing is that we had to pay an additional $2000 on the day of the event and we were held hostage on the last day. Our numerous phone calls and emails even to the sales rep as well as his supervisors have not been returned or reponded to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. The promise of Whova is much more than the delivery Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Whova? Whova was one of the worst mistakes we made as a small events team looking to include some virtual options to our Covid-era repertoire. I found their sales team to be wholly misleading in the functionalities they offered as found on our checklist which then meant we misled our regular sponsor customers on the basis of the provision they would receive and are now paying the price post-event. We found their support unhelpful, bordering dismissive and the functionality of their platform for many of our attendees was such that a great many had to watch it off-site. They recommend you use Zoom (‘you can get away with the free option too’) which quickly becomes obvious you will need to spend hundreds extra (upgrade to webinars), a hidden cost. Then when it didn’t integrate great with their system, they tell you “that’s a Zoom problem, nothing to do with us”. There are conflicts between Zoom and Whova (eg. using the same emails on both causes malfunctions); speakers logged-in on both get thrown out of Whova; speakers can’t see live video feed on Whova; attendees get other attendee messages that they can't access and Whova pass it off as their internal marketing messages in contradiction to the email notifications, etc. etc. Other aspects are outdated such as specifically timed polls or having to manually type them live, mid-session. And now they advise they don’t (contrary to a fundamental tickbox from our earliest conversations) allow producers or sponsors to know who attended, watched particular sessions or visited the sponsor and exhibitor pages or downloaded their content! Key ROI leads completely missing in action. That which is an industry-standard they try to brush off as a ‘privacy’ issue. Pay a little more if you need, avoid this organisation. Easy to use but its only half baked -- lacking so many features and controls. Really basic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Whova? Lots of bugs. couldn't use the system on an iPad rotated sideways. Sponsors and exhibitors are treated like different animals when sponsors are also exhibitors -- you have to duplicate the setup. a major lack of customization is prevalent throughout the system -- this of course leads to its simplicity. Cannot input more than 2 PDF on sponsor pages. If a faculty member uploads their video for you -- you cannot download it to edit it. Vendors cannot preview their page. and the WORST part -- if you don't like it and decide not to use it -- THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU -- I consider them to be a big bunch of scammers. They claimed to have tech support. I think they need to look up tech support in the dictionary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Whova: We had a very poor experience with Whova. We chose them because we thought their tech support would be useful for our virtual event. Boy were we wrong! My IT partner spent several hours setting up our event only to realize the links did not work. We tried to get tech support from Whova. They were unresponsive and completely unhelpful.... and frankly utterly useless. We decided to dump them and try the event on our own Zoom account. It went off very well and we wondered why we even tried to use them in the first place. After we tried to get our money back, they took over a month to get back to us. And to make matters worse, then blamed the issue on zoom. Incredible. Worst company and correspondence ever. Beware and do not use them. It’s much easier and less expensive to use Zoom on your own.
