Easy to use but its only half baked -- lacking so many features and controls. Really basic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lots of bugs. couldn't use the system on an iPad rotated sideways. Sponsors and exhibitors are treated like different animals when sponsors are also exhibitors -- you have to duplicate the setup. a major lack of customization is prevalent throughout the system -- this of course leads to its simplicity. Cannot input more than 2 PDF on sponsor pages. If a faculty member uploads their video for you -- you cannot download it to edit it. Vendors cannot preview their page. and the WORST part -- if you don't like it and decide not to use it -- THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU -- I consider them to be a big bunch of scammers. I received the usual reminders about the upcoming conference and did not pay much attention - then I got the invitation to download the Whova app - and I was taken engaged right away! Once I created my profile, I was able to navigate around and find places to upload suggestions for local restaurants and hangouts for conference attendees from out of town. I was able to look through suggestions on engaging, list my contact information, review the people that would be attending the conference, and group myself according to what would bring value to my experience.
I have to say, being first on the leaderboard was a rush! I knew once more people engaged it wouldn't last, but I enjoyed the competition! It was fun to see who the real competitive people were - lol! It was really useful to know in advance who was attending so I could make sure to catch them in person. Being able to send a quick "hello" through the app made it possible to do so because they were looking for me as well.
Being able to create my own personal agenda and NOT have to keep up with a hard copy - that was wonderful! The shuffling of books, papers, and materials has always distracted me but this way all I had to keep up with was my phone. That was worth it by itself!
It was nice to be able to exchange contact information through the app because I did not get to speak to everyone and it gave me a chance to reach out to them anyway. Plus, when I got back to my office I didn't have to figure out which card went with which person because the app showed me their face. I am terrible with remembering faces with names and this was better than a cheat sheet!
Being able to set meet-ups and giving people the anonymity to decide if they were interested helped similar interests find each other.
The lost and found, the photos, logistics!!! Oh my! There was nothing bad about it. The convenience, the organization, the networking, the ability to disperse prizes - the ease of use and understanding - probably made it one of the best conferences I have attended (and I have attended 100's). I got so much more from the experience because I did not have to concern myself with the nuts and bolts of the conference. I set my own agenda, created my own relevant connections, and kept up with contacts afterward. I have already suggested it to several colleagues and will definitely be using it if I ever organize a conference myself!
Thank you for this innovation!! I see it changing the face of networking and conferences all around! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only down side I can see is that people stayed so engaged with the app they may not have been paying as much attention to the presenters! Good thing the app had places to ask questions from each session so people had to engage!
Maybe fewer emails and texts, but really, I didn't feel spammed as most of these type things usually do. Keep the emails and texts specifically relevant based on what the attendee engages with and you will hear zero complaints from me!!
I had to really get ticky to find these "dislikes" because they both have upsides to the downsides! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Whova is easy to set up and allows you to store all the information you want from the event in one place, pre-promote your booth and to communicate and follow up with prospective clients before, during and after the show. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While setting up my profile, you had to save way down at the bottom. A couple of times, I had to click over to something else and lost my work in the middle of my input. Also, I had to change the sizes on my marketing materials and images to be able to upload. But once, I got this all done, it was all there for prospects. One other thing was you can only do one promotion which is different than in the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First of all, Whova was really easy to use when planning my tracks at the conference. I used it to read about different panels and decides which I wanted to attend most. Then I was able to build my own show agenda quickly and easily. This ended up being really handy at the event because I wasn't always sure what room or floor I was supposed to be headed to so I would refer back to my agenda.
The other great part about Whova was how it connected me to other conference attendees. It not only allowed me to communicate with other attendees but it had predictive recommendations based on my work history and schooling. I ended up connecting with an old colleague there because I saw her name on the attendence list and shot her a note. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There seemed to be a section for different user led groups or away from the show organized events and it wasn't clear to me how and when to sign-up or how to best use the feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Whova made conference planning and networking a breeze. It helped keep me on track and on schedule. I didn't have to lug around a booklet or a scribbled piece of paper with all the sessions I wanted to attend. It's on your phone so you always have it with you. I just open the app and see where I'm going next. I also love that you can ask questions in the app, super helpful for us introverts!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's not that I dislike it, I'll just say there's a little bit of a learning curve to find things and participate. But I had the pleasure of using it for a smaller conference, which then made it super easy to navigate a national conference. I encourage users to put in the time to learn how to use Whova so they get the best experience! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Whova gives you an opportunity to connect with other conference participants in the app, create meet ups, add sessions to your own personal schedule, review conference materials posted by presenters and vendors, and keep notes on attendees you meet. It was easy to use throughout the conference and helped me find my way around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I preferred using Whova on my computer when I wanted to look through attendees, but would have liked to categorize saved attendees. I also couldn't export the list of attendees that I would be interacting with, which meant I did a lot of manual copy to be able to track my interactions for reporting purposes. The app was an outstanding resource that made attending the event seamless and efficient. From the moment I logged in, I was impressed with the app's intuitive and user-friendly design. Navigating the agenda was effortless, allowing me to plan my schedule with ease and set reminders for sessions I didn’t want to miss. The ability to access speaker bios, session descriptions, and room designations all in one place was incredibly helpful.. saved me a lot of time allowing for more 'Starbucks runs'
The app’s real-time updates and notifications ensured I was always informed about any changes. It was truly a game-changer for staying organized and maximizing my conference experience. I would highly recommend this app to any Conference organizers! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I didn't experience any downsides really, it was extremely user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Whova makes it easy to stay on schedule during events by not only showing the full agenda but also the list of what you picked for your agenda. I also like the small polls, insights, and topics that members can add since it helps people like me who are shy with networking. I have made some really good contacts by sharing my thoughts on a topic during an Whova sponsored event. I have used Whova during a few events in the last two years and using Whova is easier than other platforms to use while also being helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have not had any problems using the APP at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The App has so much valuable services to use. It was great being able to connect with people through the app, see all the sessions and their content, the photo gallery, and so much more!! Being able to have the documents provided by speakers is a great asset. I am hoping that we will be able to have access to the event for a short time as well as there was so much information that I want to be able to make sure that I received everything!! I used the app so many times before, during and after the conference! Very easy to use! I didn't have any issues with the app at all as it was easy to follow and as a matter of fact as I was looking for something, I was finding other features!! I can't think of anything. I really enjoyed it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Whova isI a very creative user friendly app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our organization is not focused on organizing events, however we will like to consider to create a space for regional gatherings. With that being said, I will like that this app will be available in different languages like Spanish, Portuguese and Haitian creole. Our organization is a Black-led organization that is based in the U.S.., but we offer programs in Colombia, Panama, Guatemala and Honduras. Our potential users do not have access to unlimited acces to the internet We will like to lock the price that has been offered by Mr. Winter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the simplicity of the Whova app! I love how easy it is to keep up with schedule changes, receive important updates, and to stay in touch with colleagues from around the state. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was a bit frustrated with finding the "new" notifications. I could tell there was something new but then had to weed through every section to determine what was in fact new. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
