I started using Whimsical for diagrams, but after they added Wireframe tools, it's become my go-to software for creating mockups. I can't praise it enough. Tools like Figma allow the creation of pixel-perfect mocks and prototypes, but I rarely need that level of detail. I believe in creating mocks that are just good enough to communicate, usually to get feedback. Anything more than that is not only a waste of time, it creates bias. You are much more likely to become attached to a bad idea if you spend hours polishing it.

Whimsical is nearly perfectly suited for my approach. They give you just enough tools and controls to create clear, attractive mock-ups, but in a fraction of the time it would take with Adobe XD or Figma.
