## Whimsical Reviews
  ### 1. Great Tool for helping you visualize data.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faraz A. | M, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Whimsical makes the process of creating flowcharts and documenting user flows quick and easy, but still lets you add as much customization as you need. The program's interface is easy to navigate, making everything easily accessible.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I am not a fan of the limited number of boards available in the free version of the service. Still, some formatting issues remain, such as text in different fonts in the same box.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, planning stages of projects tended to get messy, but with Whimsical, I'm able to better compartmentalize the many facts needed while setting up web applications. I love the ability to collaborate in real-time with other users because it allows us to see changes and make improvements on the fly rather than waiting to see changes and having to work around them.

  ### 2. Visual brainstorming made easy!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Whimsical makes it easy (and even fun) to visually brainstorm and map out product strategies.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I wish there were more color and shape options to choose from.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whimsical helps my pod plan out our work. We're able to visualize all steps required to get things done, as well as timelines across each check point.

  ### 3. Pretty, intuitive and just what you need!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Viena P. | Business Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

I lvoe that its design is so pretty and I can use it without having to learn too much on how to use it. It's intuitive, simple but have all that I need in an app.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

The pricing is quite expensive (for me) and I know that it's already pretty enough but I also prefer to have templates and colors I can choose from and their collection are mostly of solid colors.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems so far, I keep coming back to it because it's just so easy to use. I feel so comfortable using whimsical even when I have to pay to upgrade the plan.

  ### 4. Bring your ideas to visual world. Every idea makes sense in your mind, so why not the mockup?

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

For any of the first prototype, I think whimsical works the best. It has everything that you need quickly to add to your template. Be it a mind map, wireframe or any of the project

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I would love it if they introduce color palettes, sometimes the idea is great but the basic colors make it look ugly lol! (Not a blocker though)

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of not being able to reproduce your mockup quickly. By the time you are putting your idea to a sheet, it's gone. So you need a fast pace solution that also makes sense.

  ### 5. Simple to use for internal work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jarryd P. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Whimsical is one of the easiest productivity tools to be able to learn and adapt to. By keeping their features limited, but possible to use for a wide range of reasons, I always feel as if the platform offers all the things I need as a Product Manager. From Roadmapping to Wireframing, all the way to creating user flows, Whimsical is my go-to.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I would love for there to be more color options for my text, but that is an unneeded thing.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily I use Whimsical for Roadmapping and portraying ideas to other stakeholders within the business. I am extremely more productive using this tool versus others.

**Official Response from Hillary Pitts Miller:**

> Thanks for the awesome review, Jarryd!

Depending on what type of board you are in, you can adjust the text color options by applying a color theme to your content. More on this here: https://help.whimsical.com/article/615-themes-and-custom-colors

  ### 8. Improvements in finding tools on UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Whimsical is the best tool to draw and prepare marketing automation flows or organizational design hierarchy.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I struggle to find tools to make changes to the flow, For Eg - arrow keys boxes. Also, the arrow keys and the connections between dialogue boxes do not work in sync. I have to delete it and keep on joining them individually. The UI should allow me to link those boxes when I hover over those boxes. It also needs to add more creative emojis and text to make the content more fun.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work on whimsical to draw automation flows for my organization w.r.t sales team hierarchy, product and process flows for end to end excelent customer experience.

  ### 9. First time using Whimsical

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Its a great, visually engaging and intuitive tool

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

The free version isn't satisfying in terms of functions and duration

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was asked to join a Whimsical board by a service provider (designer)

  ### 10. Good for whiteboard and collaboration

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aadhya C. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

1. It is very easy to use. The onboarding of the user is simple and does not take much time. There are pre-defined templates that tell the user how to use the product.
2. It is fast and effortless to invite other team members to collaborate with the board.
3. It's rare to have a Doc integration inside a whiteboard tool which I really like.
4. There are plenty of icons available.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

1. It is not very fast when compared to miro and other whiteboard tools. It keeps lagging sometimes.
2. It shows there are 2-3 types of Windows frames in wireframes but there is no option to choose from. It always shows one which is pretty annoying.
3. There is no Stick notes option available white doing wireframes.
4. There is no option to import other sets of icons.
5. It does not have any "comments" feature where a user who is not the owner, can not even comment on any of the diagrams.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is good for creating low-fidelity wireframes in a faster manner. It doesn't require any technical skills. It has multiple templates available ready to use even in the free version. The connectors which are present in the tool are intuitive and easy to use. We can make the book public or private which solves the privacy issues and is easy to manage when presenting or sharing the link with others. It also has the ability to make live changes when collaborating with others.

  ### 11. Simple to use and theme is customisable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Collaboration between workmates was the best as people can work on it together. It is effortless. Very easily learnable and memorable and Allow for comments and feedback.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Inserting links is not that good, and even though the drawing is simple, editing diagrams can get frustrating. Mobile support is should be added.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Awesome tool for remote teams and workflow optimization especially working in a remote first company. And the fact that we can make comments is really helpfull as well.

  ### 12. A great workspace to create and share workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

With Whimsical I can design flowcharts, mind maps, and more documents, which I can share with the rest of the team and thus work together and collaboratively. It's great for team works.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Whimsical has some limitations, especially for people who are used to handling more complex software designs. However, for specific situations, it is an ideal alternative.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a UX / UI designer, Whimsical helped me create user flows faster and easier. In turn, I can share it with the rest of the team and edit it in real-time, collaboratively.

  ### 13. Fastest I've been able to wireframe or flow chart in a software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tommy S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

The interface is very intuitive and takes much of the hassle of basic formatting and design out of the equation. In other software, I spend as much time getting the wireframe or flow chart to look as "pretty" as I do getting my thoughts on the screen. Whimsical removes much of the painful formatting work and allows me to focus on truly value-added tasks in building wireframes and flow charts.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Documentation sharing and collaboration isn't very intuitive. Some times the copy/paste of images out of Whimsical can be a bit wonky. By and large, these are small downsides to an overall great software.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

If you flow chart and wireframe often, it is a spot-on tool. Great price for the value. It blows any other tools for similar use cases out of the water.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helpful from a product management and process flow standpoint. This has accelerated our ability to institute process, complete frontend designs, and provide documentation to our customers.

  ### 14. Great little nifty tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** YuXin Y. | Digital Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

I love Whimsical! It's really easy to use without being too overwhelming and is the perfect tool to help create clean-looking flowcharts and assist in documentation for user flows.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

There isn't a huge range of colours for boxes at the moment - only a limited selection of colours is available. Would be amazing if I had the flexibility to select my own colours

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whimsical for me is a lot more straightforward and produces nicer-looking flowcharts than other tools such as Miro. I love how the boxes snap neatly to the grid

  ### 15. Amazing tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

I loved the fact that it was very user intuitive and everything was so easily accessible.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I think i disliked the maximum number of boards accessible when not on a paid plan.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flowcharts and mindmappings to help better convey processes and plans.

  ### 16. Good program, great customer service

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

The program is easy to use and very powerful. They also have a great customer service team that was able to resolve any issue I ran across quickly.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

My team ended up using other products to supplement whimsical.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in games and we used whimsical to help plot.

  ### 17. Brilliant tool for documentation-supporting Infographics!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayan K. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Whimsical can act as a great supplementary tool for both tech and non-tech documentations like SOPs, PFDs. It really has the most perfect ease of usage, amongst its all competitors.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Sometimes there are issues with formatting, such as having multiple font-sized texts inside a single box. Such small features are still absent.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are extensively using Whimsical to draw PFDs & SOPs for Documentations on tools like Confluence, Notion.

  ### 18. Best tool for wire-framing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Wireframing
Product scoping

  ### 19. Incredible Tool For Multiple Needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor J. | Sales Rep, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

The number of visual assets available for you to use for different purposes, not just for wireframing, is incredible. I love being able to make mind maps and flows and be able to switch over to my wireframes within the same platform easily. The overall user flow of the main wireframing and mapping tools is very streamlined and makes for great planning.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

The only thing I think I dislike about the platform is that the interface of the folders is a little difficult to make sense of at first. Some of the ways that the folders, public and private, are grouped, tends to look cluttered when you begin to work on many different projects. However, once you get a flow going, it can tend to not be that big of an issue.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

It may seem like there's an overwhelming amount of features/assets but they really work in your favor and aren't actually a ton of work to get to know. I would also recommend taking some time to experiment with the platform before starting a full-on project with it.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before I began using Whimsical, planning stages would tend to get a little messier than they needed to be. Whimsical helps me better compartmentalize the many different facets that I may need to brainstorm while setting up web applications. My favorite feature is actually the ability to collaborate with other users in a live format so we can make changes to the wireframes and maps in real-time rather than waiting to see changes and have to work around them. That is great for remote work.

  ### 20. whimsical for easy flowchart

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

easy availability of most used tools and quick to share / publish

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

no ability to see the big picture (zoomed out) and still be able to keep a piece in focus (part zoomed in)

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

creating and sharing the flow diagrams

  ### 21. Collaborative Modeling Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

The real-time collaboration on building models and flows is beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

There is some lack of automation, and the mouse function to move around the screen isn't the strongest.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use whimsical for modeling out all kinds of projects and business flows. It allows us to collaboratively work on these projects to create outstanding visuals for development teams.

  ### 22. Good for low maintenance projects, very simple too.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Templates for lo-if screens get the job done. Templates for user journeys and synthesizing are solid too.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Downloaded work has subpar quality. Limited color pallet.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mapping out written ideas onto the screen for the first time gets accomplished on Whimsical.

  ### 23. Whimsical makes Workflow Diagrams easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

It is every easy to create workflow diagrams and then share the same with the team.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

1) Limited number of free boards that they provide:-)
2) I should be able to change the font size and type and not just mention S/M/L
3) Ability to crop the image that is imported

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

Explore the platform, it is very self explanatory and easy to use. You should be able to put together your first workflow diagram in a jiffy. No additional support or hand holding required.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Preparing workflow diagrams that help explain that how our product will work in the client's existing ecosystem and denote all the data points that would be exchanged between our system and the other system our system needs to communicate with.

  ### 24. The best charting software I've used to date

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

I found the options for colouring to be plentiful, the connectors do a good job of remaining connected to elements as you move them around...and the ability to seamlessly switch between the structure types for mixed-use diagrams was excellent!

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I do wish that it were easier to align/merge connectors between elements and make the arrows connect at consistent points each time. It doesn't matter much for internal work, but for anything to be presented externally it takes more time to make diagrams look good because of this. Having it be a toggle would be good, I think.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

Give it a go - unless you've heavily invested with other software due to integrations you won't be disappointed. There are no bad surprises to be had here!

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly solving problems regarding compiling workflows between individuals and teams so that everyone is aware of how many steps these processes entail and we can look at process managing them to reduce complexity.

  ### 25. Much needed software for Information Architecture

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karthick N. | Karthick Nitish, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

I was on a lookout for “that one software” which eased my pressure to deliver what I wanted for creating INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE and having tried out various other software’s which has been available in the market since almost decade didn’t actually deliver compared to what whimsical does. Especially the minimal tools offered which can almost do anything, starting from the User Interface of Whimsical, The bright default colours and shapes gives a modern touch, making sure even boring architecture look amazing.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Even though it has lot of perks,
1)it’s quite unstable in terms of connectivity and personally I have experienced this in various different broadband connections and systems.
2)Whenever you press the delete key, the art board you are working on will be redirected to the homepage of The workspace which is very annoying and you would literally hate the software for it.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

Definitely go ahead if you want a rich looking content in information architecture, wire framing and mind mapping.

You won’t regret a bit buying this software.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the complex architecture flows into simpler format both for creator and reviewer with interesting graphical input.

  ### 26. Really great tool for process/structure mapping

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2020

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I think the tool is great. It would be nice to not have limited options with text size.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Structure and process mapping for proving clarity to my team and a materials for future reference

  ### 27. The awesome tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Svetlana D. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

It is very easy to create product map, flowcharst and wireframes

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

i like all the features. the support team replyes very fast

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm creating a lot of maps here
the flows are described using whimsical services

  ### 28. great visualisation tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristiano C. | UX and Service Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Whimsical is a great tool which we can not stop using at work. Whimsical is perfect when you need to sketch quick and dirty user flows, diagrams and mind maps and all you care about is the speed at which you can produce it. never the less, whimsical also features few customisation and styling options which most of the times are just right to give the artefact a nice look. Collaborative working and comments are a great plus. overall I'm quite satisfied.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Whimsical could improve the styling options. although I think they are ok , i still think that a little improvement on colours, wrights and fonts would go a long way. Also I think that whimsical should add more templates to its product portfolio, as the competitors are doing.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

Whimsical is honestly great because of its ease of use. there is no learning curve. it is like you have used it for ages from day one. on top of this, it is also collaborative so you can be even more efficient with visuals that would otherwise take up a lot more time to produce. Free trial too is a great opportunity to experiment with whimsical and check how to best integrate it with the current workflow in your company.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whimsical help me get the point across and quickly visualise flows, complex information and relationships so that i can better communicate with colleagues and clients.

  ### 29. For a fast prototypation is one of the best solutions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giacomo F. | Interaction Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

I love Whimsical because is really straightforward and lets you create mindmaps, wireframes, flowcharts and sticky notes in a glimpse. The look&feel of the software is nice and there are enough customizations available with colours, dimensions of the text and shapes.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Sometimes you can find some bugs related to drag & drop and is annoying to reallocate the items on the board. There are very few free boards available. The export is not vectorial and is available only in .png. I think that are still missing key templates such as customer journey, user testing and benchmarks. I can't change the default font and I can't create custom shapes. Is not available yet the possibility to create custom templates that i'm able to reuse for different clients and projects.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

This is the best tool if you need a ready-to-go solution for UX fast prototyping.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to reduce drastically the time that I need to create prototypes that i'm able to show to clients. I'm also able to create a team with my colleagues and work at the same projects in realtime.

  ### 30. Perfect for wireframes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marciano P. | Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Wireframing in Whimsical is such a pleasure. I find myself just quickly mocking up ideas just because

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

It can get a bit slow when working with a lot of images

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

If you need to make wireframes for a living -- use whimsical.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a UX Designer and I used to do Wireframes directly in my design tool (a mix of Sketch, Figma and Framer) -- But Whimsical is so easy and focused on just wireframes that it's like drawing on paper

  ### 31. HUGE Whimsical Fan!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie B. | Design Manager, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

What don't I like?! The prototyping is amazing. The sticky notes, the flowcharts, the mind maps--I literally use it all! It's also been incredible in setting up and running my very first 100% remote design sprint, and I've been able to guide the team solely in this product. That's REALLY powerful! I am so impressed. Also love that you can copy and paste elements from different file types into one another. It's so fluid and intuitive. I have not one bad thing to say. I'd recommend it to anyone!

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Nothing I dislike, but perhaps one recommendation would be to allow layered file exports into programs like Figma. That would be AMAZINGGGGG!

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

Definitely try it! I can nearly guarantee you'll love it.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote design sprints
Documentation of user feedback
Documentation of product feature sets
Prototyping
Process maps
IA exercises

  ### 32. Easy-to-use online mapping tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

I like that the tool is online, just by opening a web page and logging in you can access to the tool. I like that you can create a team, different workspaces with different boards within. I like that there is also the possibility to have some private boards.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

I don't like that the free boards are very limited to a small number. I don't like that the export file type is just .png. I would like to have different ones, including .PDF. I also don't like that the set of elements (shapes, arrows, texts...) are very limited.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

Buy a plan

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly mapping complex things with flexibility, re-adjustable elements and the possibility to share it with others. It's very useful for quick and dirty maps.

  ### 33. Just became a new design tool I can't live without

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle W. | UX Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

It requires almost no learning curve. I recommend it to my friends and they start producing great wireframes/flowcharts/diagrams on their first try. It's designed so thoughtfully that you don't even have to think about most of the details.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

It's still pretty new and doesn't have all of the features of some other software like Lucid Chart.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

I use it as a designer, but at my company I've seen engineers and product managers use it and get a lot of benefit from it too.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product design. It's so nice, when trying to map out a complex set of problems/scenarios to account for, I can make a quick diagram and send out a link to all of the engineers, designers, managers/stakeholders involved in a project so we can quickly get on the same page.

  ### 34. an amazing new design and planning tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew C. | Senior Vice President - Product & Design, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Whimsical was introduced to me by my design team and has since changed my life. I used to use power point or google presentations to design work flows - programs like visio were too complicated/feature bloated. Whimsical makes it incredibly intuitive and easy to use to make work flow diagrams, with automated connectors and design tools.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Sometimes, trying to pull connectors to the spot you want can be difficult and you end up augmenting the slope of the line rather than actually moving the line - causing you to have to start over. Thus, some of the control details aren't quite refined yet but still much better than existing tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Whimsical:**

It's easy to try and just start by making a new work flow - that will help you understand how easy the tool is to use.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for business work flow diagrams and simple diagram designs I need.

  ### 35. Best flow builder out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew R. | UX Designer, Graphic Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

The UI is incredibly intuitive and created with speed and adaptability in mind.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Very little, I'd love to see some additional ways to connect my flows into actual wire frames that I create in a prototyping application. I've not found a lot of use for their additional products yet (Sticky notes and wireframe tool).

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's really easy to outline a high level flow for user journeys or application design. So I can help everyone in the room understand and agree on a direction without talking in circles without clear visualization.

  ### 36. Prototyping like magic

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Easy to use, good collaboration options and incredibly easy wireframing.
Can't even imagine how we lived before that. I have to admit that we didn't use any prototyping tools before that and went straight from paper and google drawings

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

The customer journey mapping is a bit clumsy and almost impossible to view from a laptop, surely requires a professional monitor. Obviously, it's not a problem for designers but a lot of stakeholders that give feedback struggling with that. They should figure out the scaling problem

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prototyping and wireframing by designers team and collaboration with internal clients. The amount of time from thought to prototype reduced drastically and that allows for faster iterations which is crucial for early stages.

  ### 37. Beatiful, simple-yet-powerful ideas tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

A lot of Whimsical "just works" – you create shapes, you connect them, things snap satisfyingly into place, and you can get your ideas down quickly and accurately. It's like a whiteboard, an infographic, and Sketch had a baby.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Some more smart snapping would be awesome once you start doing more complex things like aligning different shapes together, changing their sizes, etc. – it works, but needs some finagling.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Whimsical we've been able to map current vs desired states for product features, build a visual funnel showing users' journeys, and quickly build lo-fidelity wireframes to test out ideas.

  ### 38. Great way to wireframe and create flow charts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

It's so simple to use, the learning curve is nothing.

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

We're somewhat limited with the colors and typography.

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great way to get others to mockup their ideas without knowing how to use the product.

  ### 39. Interesting tool to share and collaborate on flows, wireframe and mind map

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benoît d. | Advisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Whimsical?**

Dead simple, clean and zen like UI: it makes it easy to start creating

**What do you dislike about Whimsical?**

Collaboration not so easy: finding how to share documents + creating a team work and so on is not straightforward

**What problems is Whimsical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A shared team workplace for graphical documents
