## Whereby Meetings Reviews
  ### 1. Easy and Reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I teach my yoga classes remotely. I chose Whereby because it is so easy to enter the room with one click from an email or text. I love it because I do not have any hassles with student access, Sometimes I get into some self-created issues right before class. So far the room settings and device settings get me out of trouble withing 15 seconds,

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Very little. However, my one and only email to tech support got a robo reply that I would receive an answer to my problem within 2 days, I never got that answer. Eventually I solved the problemon my own, but I still think I should have received some help from tech support.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a veteran yoga teacher with about 12,000 hours experience in the classroom. Because of my age and the covid pandemic, I will no teach in the club where I have taught fir 21 years until there is an effective vaccine for covid 19. So I have been teaching remotely for 6 months. With some hardware upgrades and a Whereby subscription I am teaching high quality classes from home. I think remote yoga classes are the future, Yoga is not a high income business, so remote teaching really keeps the overhead under control. Having these reliable remote classes is a asset for retaining the club memberships current when the club is struggling to stay open,

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Richard - thank you so much for the review. I'm pleased that Whereby is proving a useful tool for your teaching.

Apologies for the issue with the tech support in the past. If you have any issues in the future please email support@whereby.com and we'll make sure you get a prompt response.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 2. Whereby is easily the best video conferencing service I've tried

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregory D. | Translator Spanish to English, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

It's extremely easy to use and they are constantly updating it with new features.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

I wish there were a way to upload pdf documents audio samples.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you are looking for a video conferencing service, Whereby wins hands down in terms of ease of use. In fact, many of my students started using it in their own work after using it with me. Also, if one needs to connect using the mobile app, it is extremely easy and works just as well as the desktop version. Apart from that, everything is very self-explanatory and sharing other web pages or things on my desktop is quite easy. If you are finding other services frustrating, give Whereby a try. The free version works well and then if you have a need for different rooms and larger groups, the paid version is very affordable.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helped me tremendously in my teaching. The connection is very good and it is very easy for my students to join me. In the past with other services, a lot of my students became frustrated trying to join me and we wasted a lot of time simply connecting. With Whereby it's extremely easy and I've almost always had good connections.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Gregory - thank you for the kind review. I'm pleased that Whereby has been a useful aid to your teaching. I've passed on the feedback about uploading pdf documents audio samples to the team. I know it's something that is already on their radar, so keep an eye out for it.

  ### 3. The simplest solution - not just for pandemic times

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marek M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Ease of installation and operation, reasonable price. Especially in the early stages of the pandemic, we had to quickly find a solution that would connect with our contractors and team members working in the home office without any problems. Learning new applications and configuration is almost always troublesome, especially for people with little IT knowledge. This worked out especially when we had an hour or less to meet without an agreed videoconference program.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Screen sharing option can be troublesome for new users. The "window in window" effect is a source of consternation. Competitive applications solve this in a different way and it may be possible to improve it without losing the simplicity of the application itself. The option of accessing the room with a pin and not just knocking would be useful, as only the administrator can unlock the door. Alternatively, the option of delegating the right to open the door could be created.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you're looking for a solution that's as easy to get started as possible and as reliable as possible, Whereby is certainly there for you. *** If you're looking for a solution that's as easy to get started as possible and as reliable as possible, Whereby is certainly there for you. *** If you're looking for a solution that's as easy to get started as possible and as reliable as possible, Whereby is certainly there for you.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The necessity of (especially unexpected) connections with new clients. Whereby is by far the easiest solution we have ever met. Just a link and a few clicks to connect. At the same time it is practically reliable and works well at low internet speed. The pandemic has permanently changed the way we work, partly enabling the home office, and has forced us to prepare for situations when our office becomes virtual. Whereby is one of the basic tools to make it easier.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Marek - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'm pleased that Whereby is proving to be a useful tool. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team.

  ### 4. The easy solution for videoconferences

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rune S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

The Whereby solution is so easy to understand since it mirror a physical meeting room. You tell the invited people where it is (the address) and decide if you want the door to be open or closed (then they need to knock on it to be let in). Once inside, you may decice to lock the door before you start or keep going, you can share screen content with a few clicks and it all works very well. The chat function is ideal for sharing supplementary info, links, short comments/expressions without interrupting the one who speak.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Not much! But I suppose the tiles with video could potentially be made a bit larger, and the lock/unlock function could be available directly on the screen somewhere (top right or the lower toolbar) with only 1 click (not 3). Before anyone else enter the lock/unlock IS available via an active text link on the screen.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Check it out! You may be suprised how good it is!

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot less travel, meetings get more structured.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Rune - thank you for leaving a review. I'm glad that Whereby is proving to be a useful tool. I'll pass on the feedback to the team.

  ### 5. A big fan of Whereby, extremely simple and a joy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

love how simple it it is to use, not requiring an app to use it. I've used it for countless meetings, presentations, catch-ups with friends and family, fun quizzes and more. It's great that someone can just join via a custom shared link no matter what device they are using.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

The only issue I've had is that I use this with a small new business and very small team. It would be great if my business partners could start a call/room but I'm the only one able to do that. We'd need a Team account and that is overkill in terms of other requirements and cost.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using Whereby for about 10 months now as was immediately drawn to it by it's simple and well considered approach. The ability to personalise each room is great too, a nice way to add business branding or personality to the call or presentation.

It's also become a conversation starter as less people I currently know about Whereby so they always ask.

  ### 6. Great app, but taxing on my hardware.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh M. | Website Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

The audio is solid, and the video quality doesn't waver. if you have a strong internet connection, Whereby is a great choice.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

It's pretty taxing on my system. I have a 2015 Macbook Pro that I use for work, and we joke around that it sounds like a plane trying to take off. They only software that tends to have that effect is Whereby and Adobe Photoshop, Zoom doesn't even lock my system up the way Whereby does. We're about to switch over to Google Meet, because it's free for G Suite users and doesn't tax my/our systems nearly as much, but I'm hopeful that Whereby will be able to fix their system resource issue so we can switch back.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now that we have to work remotely, Whereby is a good option to keep us all connected. We have a department of 10-11, depending on the meeting, so the middle business tier handles everything we need.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Josh - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the product team.

In the meantime, if you experience any other issues please email support@whereby.com and the team will look into it directly.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 7. Easy to use and reliable VTC tool with superb features, there is no need to look somewhere else

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. Konstantinos T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Quick and easy joining for external users, stability
The new features such as 50 person rooms as well as the very realiable recording feature bring added value to the table. Share screen and chat functions sums up the positive experience. In some cases, when connecting via mobile phone the experience is similar: Connection stable, sharing is possible and sound quality is high in 4G+ networks. The price is reasonable for the provided service.

Users can use established rooms without the admin present.
Last year realibility and interoperability experienced some problems, those were fixed now by the Whereby Team

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

not supported by older browsers, some users experience problems with mics
Only admin can record. An option to delegate to a team member might be a good addition
Chat features like "raise hand" should show longer in the user icons, so that the moderator can recognized what member seeks to speak to the team.
Admin should get option to mute mics and video of members that stayed online but forgot to mute mic
An log file of user login in should be added to the admin site, so that the Admin can see how joined while he was not present or in a different room. Also while in the admin panel, show which room is occupied to the admin

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

This is the best and most easy to use option in the market currently.
Norway as host country of the company also indicates high security standards

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing reasearch projects
Online courses
Online experiments
Online research paper discussions
Sharing presentations and explaining content
Discussing with academia and customers
Showing work steps to new staff members that have now the ability to learn through visual training and education

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi there - thanks so much for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team.

In relation to the mic and video controls of participants on a call - the room owner is able to mute/disable the mic and cameras of participants on the call by hovering over their feed and selecting the option after clicking on the three dots.

You are able to delegate a team member to screen record with our Business Plan if that would be a useful feature.

I hope this helps.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 8. Easiest High-Quality Video Conferencing Platform Out There

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben M. | Associate Product Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

One of the best things about Whereby is how easy it is for other people to join meetings. While the user maintains control of the conference room and can adjust security settings to their liking, other members of video calls don't need to download any other software to join. Rather than the complex login and setup of Zoom, Whereby offers just as high-quality video but makes it so much easier to use!

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Rooms that have been deleted seem to still technically "exist." So if you create a room and then delete it, but try to recreate the room at a later time, the room may be marked as "taken." It would be great to completely remove a room and know for certain whether it's been claimed by another user or is just still in the system.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you're looking for an easy-to-access, high quality video conferencing tool with all of the security features and integrations of a platform like Zoom, Whereby is definitely for you.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for a high-quality video conferencing software that could generate an easy link for clients to join and would be easier to access than Zoom. Whereby fit the bill on all accounts!

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Ben - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'm glad that you are enjoying using Whereby!

In relation to what happens to a room once it's been deleted - once a room is deleted any users can recreate it, so if you are unable to re-create a room, it will be because it has been re-created elsewhere.

I hope this helps.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 9. An easy-going online meeting solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefan N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Hassle-free, no login required connection.
Easily shareable link.
Ability to create multiple rooms (open or locked).
Optimal screen sharing functions and integrations.
Mobile app.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Limited members per meeting (12 people in basic paid plan).
Limited expansion (50 people per meeting in premium paid plan).
Recordings not included (requires extra fee in basic paid plan).
Crashes on old systems and browsers.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Whereby is a friendly and smart solution for your everyday online meeting needs that makes personal, family and business conferencing easy. Though it is not designed to provide for large groups or big conferences, the service is a reliable choice if you just want to connect, hassle-free.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whereby helps me with nearly all of my everyday online meeting needs, for both work and life connections. It is a simple enough service with the essential tools for conferencing that I use for work meetings, client consultations, social gatherings, study groups and more.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Stefan - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team.

  ### 10. Simple and easy option that just works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damian M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I'm a consultant that works across a number of clients and projects, and uses a number of video conference tools. I've found Whereby to be the simplest, most reliable option for my meetings. I can create a room for each project, and the simple URL reduces the pain of scheduling a meeting every time. We just jump back in. The integration with Miro is the closest online experience to standing around a whiteboard and I find myself using it a lot.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Two minor gripes, the number of "rooms" on my small plan (I'm a sole trader but currently across 4 projects and would like to create a room for each to avoid embarrassing meeting room crashing), also when I go to share my desktop I get the infinity window which is always a little jarring.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Use it if you want a simple and low friction collaboration tool.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple, low friction video meetings, I'm finding my clients wanting to use my Whereby link rather than schedule their own Teams / Google / Zoom meetings. By calling "Let's jump on to Whereby" sooner we get things answered quickly.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Damian - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team.

To help prevent the infinity window, just make sure that your room isn't visible in the area or application that you're sharing.

Hope this helps!

  ### 11. Whereby is the easiest, most accessible video chat platform I have used. I love it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick H. | CEO & Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I love that a user doesn't have to download software or log into an account. They can instead jump into the call immediately. The updates to the platform have been very thoughtful and always work as I expect. Everyone I bring onto a Whereby chat starts using the product for themselves and their business.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

There are some small UI adjustments that could be made. For instance, occasionally when my room is locked a user won't realize they need to knock. Making that more obvious to the user would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Try it. It's really quick to get into a room and chat with someone else. If you pay for the Pro version, make sure you take time to understand the features. The interface is so simple it can be misleading with how much customization is actually available to you.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Whereby when running my business to meet with clients, contractors, etc. I believe clients are impressed by how professional and easy the process is. Additionally, I use Whereby to conduct podcast interviews... over 400 so far. It's worked smoothly every single time.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Patrick - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'm really pleased that you are finding Whereby a useful tool. I've passed the UI feedback onto the team.

  ### 12. Whereby is easy to use and customizable, with great integrations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

- No learning curve: I can just send a link, and no sign-up or Google or Microsoft account is required for my guests to join. This makes planning meetings easy and quick, and the technology literacy threshold low.

- Great integration with YouTube and Google Sheets and Docs: we can watch videos with the sound synced and clear, and edit documents together right in window, and all of it is very intuitive.

- Great customization options that provide guests with a sense of individualized space. This in contrast to the black box of Zoom.

- I also love that I can delete and create new room names and I'm not locked into the same three room names/URLs for all time. This also adds to the sense of individualization that helps guests feel welcomed and seen.

- Having the ability to lock or unlock rooms provides a sense of security but also the flexibility of making it very easy for guests to join, or even use the room to catch up if I'm not there.

- The integration into the Google Chrome browser is a nice touch too. With one click I can navigate to the menu of rooms I have and then select and open the one I want to use.

- I have yet to start using Trello but I like that I can see it's already integrated into Whereby, for future projects.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

- I have experienced some buffering and video quality issues, on average more than when I use Zoom. Not sure if it's the capacity of the server or the distance, as I'm in the USA and I think Whereby is in Europe.

- It would be nice to have a breakout room feature on the pro account. There are some meetings I host where breakout groups are an essential part of the process, so for those I have to use Zoom.

- A scheduling feature would also be a huge bonus -- if that exists, I haven't noticed it. Then it would be easy in-app to see who's using the room and when.

- Basically I would like Whereby to have all the features Zoom has so I can stop using Zoom!

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

I can't speak to how well it works for larger groups, but for those looking to set up meetings with clients that have a more personalized touch, I think this is the way to go.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Google Sheets/Docs integration in Whereby is a delight because instead of just sharing a screen, you are porting in the document itself, so each guest in the meeting can individually scroll up and down in the sheet to view something and aren't locked into the host's view. People can also edit individually and simultaneously, all while staying in the Whereby tab. This makes collaboration instantaneous and crystal clear.

I also love the video viewing feature because sometimes shared sound in a meeting can be a dicey proposition, and with Whereby you simply paste the video URL into the chat, prompting the page to ask if you would like to share it, and then it takes over sound for the whole room for the duration. Everyone has access to stop or pause the video.

The emoji options are also more robust than in other meeting platforms I have used. It just helps return a sense of fun and humanity to the prospect of distanced working and living. For this reason, I use Whereby for personal meetings even more than I use it for work meetings.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Kristen - thank you so much for leaving a review. Really pleased that you are finding Whereby a useful tool. I've passed on your feedback to the product team.

  ### 13. Easy video chat and sharing of docs!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heidi J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

We began using Whereby before COVID-19 hit the USA. However, after that, our offices were closed for the safety of our employees and we went 100% virtual. We first had three video rooms in Whereby but within 6 months, we expanded to 5 rooms. We were fortunate enough to be able to hire summer interns and they had their own video room to collaborate and meet with our managers - it worked out great! Having the ability to share our screens and switch back and forth with views is very helpful. Thanks Whereby!

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

We sometimes experience a slowing of navigation while we are on video-chat. This could be due to bandwidth of local internet connections but if there's anyway Whereby could assist with that, it would be very helpful!

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We hold daily, weekly and monthly company meetings on Whereby. Having the flexiblity to jump into a video room and share a document saves us time and money, avoiding the need for endless emails or texts. We've also even held virtual company happy-hours which helps provide team-building opportunities when our staff can't meet in person.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Heidi - thank you so much for leaving a review. I've passed the feedback onto the team.

If you find yourself having any other bandwidth issues, please email the team directly at support@whereby.coma and they will look into it.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 14. Whereby is Perfect for a Growing Startup!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert A. L. | System Engineering Tech Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

My startup has been using Whereby since it was known as appear.in. We have always liked Whereby because it is extremely intuitive, runs beautifully in a browser, and is very affordable for a small startup on a budget. We also love the fact that we can customize the look of our rooms as well. We have added company logos and backgrounds to our meeting rooms which has given it a very professional feeling.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Running the software sometimes can use up a lot of CPU on a laptop and in turn drain a battery very quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

The plan that allows you to create 12 person rooms is very reasonably-priced. My team is considering upgrading to the "XL" package that would allow up to 50 people in a room at once but that does come at a higher cost.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My startup uses Whereby exclusively for our video chatting needs. We have multiple rooms for various use cases and have found the price point to be extremely reasonable for our needs.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Robert - thank you for leaving a review. I'm pleased that Whereby is proving to be a useful tool for you and your team.

I've passed on your feedback to the team.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 15. Easy-to-Operate Video Conferencing Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arjav R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Whereby is affordable, has an intuitive interface, and compatible across multiple systems / hardware / software types. The ability to invite individuals with a URL, instead of through multiple invite screens / procedures, also allows me to invite meeting attendees with ease.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Whereby does have minor lag / latency issues with video and audio calls, but this is also in rare situations.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Prior to using Whereby, determine your available budget for video conferencing; then see how affordable Whereby is as a service. Additionally, the video calls are high quality, audio quality is clear, and you are able to use the service with multiple team members in a room. The ease of sharing meeting invites from Whereby (via URL) allows you to schedule and conduct meetings very quickly, without needing to adopt or learn new programs or processes. Overall, consider using Whereby if you want to transition to a remote conferencing software without disrupting many processes at your workplace currently; this product will be easy to adopt, enables multiple team members use the service with ease, and will enable greater collaboration in the workplace.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whereby enables me to video-conference with up to 12 people at work at a much more affordable cost than other video conferencing software. As mentioned, the software is compatible across platforms, which allows coworkers to use this service with ease. Additionally, since the service does not need to be downloaded as a separate software, I'm able to send the link to my older family members to use with ease!

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Arjav - thank you for leaving a review. I've passed the feedback onto the team.

If any of the lag issues persist, please feel free to email support@whereby.com and we'll look into it further.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 16. Instantly connect with anyone just by sending a LINK

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adithya S. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I like how flawless and easy it is to setup and get going. You can brand your Whereby page with your logo and brand colours if you are on their paid plans. I would just like to see a feature or ability to control the other person's desktop or screen while on screen sharing.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Nothing to be frank, it has everything that remote company or team can ask for. I say this because I have been a user way before it was rebranded to Whereby

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

At times like these where companies and teams have gone completely remote, video calls and meetings are necessary and Whereby is here to make it easy just in a few minutes to setup and connect with just one link. Try the free version and you will surely move to a paid plan.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting with team, clients and partners just through a link that does not require any software to be installed.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Adithya - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'm pleased that Whereby is proving a useful tool for you and your team.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 17. No need for apps or software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

When engaging with clients for the first time, whereby is excellent as we do not have to spend the first five minutes of the call trying to explain about downloading software or apps and also where can they find their password to download apps, etc. With Whereby they are straight into it and first impressions are essential.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

I suppose this is a problem with all video systems, if your client is on a mobile the signal might not be great on 4G. I wish we could change the domain also for the video call, so that it would be in our own domain name. It is just better from a branding point of view.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you want a simple to use system for calling clients especially clients who might be great with technology then whereby is an excellent choice.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have moved all our sales calls online. In the past we would of had face to face, but with Covid 19 that became a big issue. We took the big step of engaging with clients solely through video calls and it has worked out very well. With Whereby our clients love the simplicity of it and especially the idea of a room to go to. It is easy to recommend it to a client for them to use as we say it is just like going to a room for a meeting in your business, except it is online.

  ### 18. Very easy and straightforward solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter H. | Co-founder & COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

It's very easy to have a video call with or customers/leads, as we just need to send them the link and no further software or plugin installation is necessary. The buttons and features are very intuitive. Being able to customize the interface and icons is also very nice as we use it in commercial presentations, making it look more professional.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

It sometimes does not work as expected on other browsers then Chrome (IG Edge). Maybe a banner with a disclaimer would help our customers. Having it translated to other languages would also be great as we are a Brazilian Company and many customers/leads don't know english at all. Sometimes either audio or video get buggy and some users need to exit and rejoin.
It would also be helpful, while presenting my screen to get some audio or visual feedback when somebody exists or joins the call or sends a message, as there were some occasions I was presenting something, the other side loses connection/exists and I keep talking without knowing something went wrong.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

It's easy to use, very straightforward, good pricing.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of online presentations and trainings, so it becomes a quick way to appoint them and quickly start them (as there is no installation or configuration needed on our customer/lead side). As it's also very intuitive our non-tech commercial team also manages how do use the features without needing to contact our support team.

  ### 19. Best in Show

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caron L. | PCM owner - Project Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I love the simplicity of Whereby. Its browser access with no download or sign-up gives an easy to troubleshoot experience. I can also make branded video rooms available to my supported clients. I like that is still evolving.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

There was a time when Whereby indicated the number of attendees in each room. When running parallel rooms this was helpful to review the rooms with people in. That has gone. As a side note, the shared link graphic can not be customised. For me, it's not a problem but businesses I referred to Whereby have found this problematic.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

For easy entry, no-nonsense video meeting spaces look no further. Real simple for the tech fearful. Click and connect. It just works. If it doesn't there are only a limited set of problems the user can experience. It's usually the browser not being Chrome or Firefox.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Especially with other video conferencing platforms needing sign up and download, I need a help desk to troubleshoot attendee access issues. Whereby is perfect as it's just a link. I use whereby as my go-to video meeting space for my business, for project meetings and small networking events.

  ### 20. Whereby is awesome!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raphael R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Its easy to use and fast to connect.

Browser based with all functionalities (sharing screen which is a must) and easy to share with those who aren't too familiar with video conferences (we know how stressful it can be to teach someone who isn't used to this kind of technology and systems how to create their accounts and guide them through the whole process of connecting).

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Nothing I really dislike, but it would be awesome to have more seats per room, sometimes 12 is not enough and I have to use other softwares (Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

But having to do so, makes it more complicated, like on ZOOM, to be more secure, is recommended that we force a passcode, and that the user connecting is currently registered or event has previously registered for the meeting. And we can see how this can be annoying to those who aren't familiar with technology.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

I highly recommend you to at least give it a try, you have nothing to lose. You can even combo having Whereby and other video conference systems, and decide on which you are using next depending on your demand.

It is very easy to use and get used to!

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since the start of COVID-19 every one at the office started working from home, and the daily communication got a bit complicated only through phone calls and e-mails.

We needed something easier and faster to connect and use on demand. Even though we already had our Whereby license, we started using it a lot more.

So daily communication between members of the company, divided in teams so we can use all the 3 rooms we have at whereby at once, in an very organized manner.

Its easy to use and fast to connect. And also very secure, specially being able to simply lock the room at any moment we feel like.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Raphael - thanks so much for leaving a review. I've passed the feedback onto the team.

Don't forget that our Business Plan allows for up to 50 participants.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 21. Whereby is an essential tool for my business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

One of the things that struck my clients when they showed up to their first meeting using Whereby was that I had customized both the login screen and the background to their company. On top of that, I had claimed the meeting room naming it after their company. They were impressed with the attention to detail before the video call even began.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Early in the development, I would have a few issues with Whereby recognizing my specific external microphone. After an update, it was completely fixed. There really isn't anything I dislike at the moment.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Try it, you'll like it.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During the pandemic, Whereby has been an easy solution to in-person meetings. I hop in and out of different Whereby rooms all day. Through this I am able to make a personal connection that is very much needed in these unusual times. My clients are grateful to have time to catch up and actual see each other, share screens, and review works in progress.

I have even incorporated it into family game nights to interact with family members in other states.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Brian - thank you for leaving a review. I'm glad that Whereby is proving a useful tool for you and your team.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 22. Most intuitive online meet up option

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

We usually offer a pleatora of courses and tutoring meet ups online and since the outbreak, the most stable and reliable platform has been Whereby. We are based in Chile, and other options like Meet, Jitsi and Zoom had a lot of connection troubles. Regarding sinchronization, other apps have problems with more than 6 guests. As you don't need to install an app it's also very easy to set up for newcomers and people that's not into web conferencing.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Sometimes if the user has a lot of input and output options can be tricky to set them correctly (if they don't pay attention to the set up lobby before entering), the same happens when they have another tab thats using mic or webcam and they don't notice before entering the room.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Try to use the SDK pack for further integrations

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting courses and talks just sending a link, works effortlessly and sets apart the set up hassle almost enterely.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Sebastian - thank you for leaving a review. I'm pleased that Whereby is proving a useful tool.

I'll pass on your feedback to the team!

All the best,

  ### 23. Great value for money on video chat solutions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel U. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

- Easy access through browser
- Fair price for what's offered (sessions for up to 12 people, sharing screen, sharing files, chat window, turn on/off buttons for camera/mic)

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

- From time to time the video quality drops or it freezes (especially when sharing screen). Audio/video delay is also an issue sometimes.
- It could be easier to share files (direct sharing, not only through Google Drive).
- There could be an option for selecting audio sharing as well (e.g. if I'm playing an audio on my laptop, there should be an option to allow me to share it with the guests).

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Great value for money when browsing video chat solutions. Whereby has come a long way since they started as Appear. They have implemented many useful features in the past few months, which shows they're constantly working to improve.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our in company classes are now being held online with Whereby. It's more affordable than other services.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Daniel - thank you for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the product team. The team is actively working on an Audio Sharing feature so keep an eye out for it!

  ### 24. Best team meeting SW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando F. | Online Marketing Consultant for Internationalization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Extremely simple, no installations, immediate login

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Only four people can meet in the free plan.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Give it a try! It is really helpful

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At my company we use Whereby for our daily meetings. Since COVID we have to work from home, so we meet three times a day. In every meeting we discuss workload, next steps, problems found, and so on. We share documents on Drive and use Whereby to show our screens. We've noticed our productivity has increased compared to office working.

Another advantage: I had an online business meeting with eight people of the higher management of a company to present our proposal. I was invited to join them on a well known meeting platform. When the meeting started, my account didn't work and I couldn't join the meeting. People became nervous and the meeting was going to be called off. I asked them to meet me on our Whereby account. In two minutes everyone was in our room, although no one knew Whereby before! The meeting was a success and my responsiveness was highly praised.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Fernando - thank you for the kind review. I'm pleased that Whereby is proving a useful tool for you and your company.

  ### 25. Whereby is NOT your average video platform... (Zoom into a different kind of video Meet!)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan W. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

First off, Whereby doesn't work like some other video conferencing platforms we've tried. It's the digital equivalent of a conference room. You can setup a specific URL for a room (whereby.com/company) and folks can just drop by. It makes it really easy to have spur of the moment meetings without even having to send an invite. You can share the link with clients, team members, whomever. And they can just pop in! Of course, you don't always want people to just drop into the middle of a meeting (any more than you would want them popping into a physical conference room), so Whereby allows you to lock the room and forces people to knock to enter. It's a nice feature when you are discussing something sensitive.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

We had a little trouble now and then. Specifically, we had some audio/video issues. The Whereby support team was quick to jump on the problem and offer to help resolve them!

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's changed how our team uses video conferencing. Without having to share passwords, meeting IDs, etc., it makes video conferencing as easy as dropping by someone's office. Everyone can have their own rooms, making it easy to drop in and chat about whatever. No configuration. No invite. Just a quick message to join my room and poof! We're having a meeting.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Daniel - thank you so much for your kind review. Very pleased that Whereby is proving a useful tool for you and your team!

  ### 26. Whereby is easy to use for newcomers and teachers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roosevelt C. | ESL/EFL Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

The ability to record locally and to manage my online classes is a very cool feature. Then, I just have to upload them to a video streaming service and it is good to go. Besides, no need to log in makes it easy for my clients. I also like the sharing features which allow me to share Youtube Videos, Google Drives files and more!

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Not to complain so far. The tools are easy to use and the learning curve is not steep. It could include a virtual whiteboard which would be very neat.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

When you think of simplicity and reliability, use Whereby.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Due to the pandemic, my clients use Whereby as a first choice for distant education. My clients do not have to come in person and the teaching services have continued besides the social distancing. As I schedule meetings with my students and clients, they are just one click away to my online conferences.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Roosevelt - thank you for your kind review. Glad that you are finding Whereby a useful tool!

We do currently have a virtual whiteboard integration called Miro located in the share tap on the main screen. I've attached an article below which explains further how you can access the virtual whiteboard - https://whereby.helpscoutdocs.com/article/475-integrations

Hope this helps,

  ### 27. Great service for a low price

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Enrico S. | Amministratore, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Is Whereby is a very good service? Yes, it is! Simple, effective, and made my life much easier with my customers. No more need for programs like skype or zoom to bloat my PC or customer's PC. Everything runs in the browser window.

As a small business owner, I can create up to 3 rooms with custom URLs. This means, while I'm with a customer, my business partner can talk with the rest of the team.

The rooms can be big and, in the past months, having a 12 people size room was a big boon even to stay in touch with my friends and family.

The chat is nice and I like the floating emoji reactions. While this seems like a secondary function, it becomes very important when you are a lot of people and you cannot talk all at the same time. After all, conference calls with more than 2 people always tend to be very chaotic.

There's also a recording function (that I never used, so I cannot vouch for it), the ability to share from different sources (like Google Drive and YouTube), and the ability to lock room (so someone has to know and identify before coming in).

I've been a Whereby user for a long time, both free and paid. I've been following its evolution and I've got to say, I'm very satisfied. It's still not perfect, for sure, but it made great improvements in the last few months.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

The things I don't like are very "puny". Small things that would make Whereby even better.

Let's start from the big one. Servers aren't always fast. I know, sometimes online calls are slow due to the participant's internet connections. However, sometimes, the connection is slow for everyone in the call. I don't know if the servers are just far from my country (Italy) or if the number of people makes the room slower for everyone. So, for certain, I would optimize the resource management and bandwidth.

Onto the small things now ;) :
1. I'd love to customize the room's background with a single, flat color (no need to upload an image). It would be faster and enough to customize rooms
2. the new UI of the backend is not optimized at all for desktop and laptops. Personally, the Appear.in interface was simpler and sleaker.

And that's it with the flaws. I really had to scrape the barrel to find things I dislike in Whereby ;)

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Try the free version. It has most of the features you would have in the paid version.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier to stay in contact with friends, family, customers and partners.
Easier to use anywhere
Doesn't require installations
It's not in the hands of big corporations like google.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Enrico - thank you so much for the kind feedback! I'll be sure to pass it on to the product team.

  ### 28. Very easy to use! We use it for online lessons with one to six students

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdiel L. | Mr, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

It is way the easiest video call software we have found. Whereby is very simple to use, and there is no need to log in for our students to take their lesson, they only need two clicks: first the students open the created link, then they authorize the webcam/mic, and they are in. Also, the interface is really easy to use, which has allowed us to just send a link by email with a few instructions. Students like the simplicity. Our students have also found it useful that the interface includes emoticons, chat, and a Youtube videos on-screen sharing option.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Sometimes it gets a little slow here in Argentina, but it is probable related to the connection in this country. We could definitely use a connection improvement.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Try it once and you will see how easy it is. It is great for meetings if you meet with multiple people and cannot afford to explain each one of them how to use the tool. You just need to make a room and you are set. It is very easy to use. Use it for meetings with small groups.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have found a solution to teach lessons online, which has allowed us to find new students besides the ones that come to the institute. Besides that, we have been able to re-schedule missed lessons and eventually meet with future students. We searched across multiple websites and didn't find a video call software so easy to implement. By using the pro version, we made several rooms; each room has their own easy-to-understand url address, so students can even enter the room by typing the address on theyr browser bar..

  ### 29. A natural video experience for team connection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Of all the video tech I've used in the last few months, Whereby feels far and away the most natural to interact in. It might seem subtle, but the level of personal connection I get compared to other tools is noticeably stronger, which really matters when you're fully remote. Overall it's a smooth, clean experience with "just enough" features. It's my absolute go-to for one-to-one and small-group meetings to get a natural feel.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

It's great for team meetings and chat, but if you need to do a show-and-tell session for a wider audience you can only have full interaction with up to a dozen people.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Very easy to sign up and give it a try and you can upgrade if you need more features. Well worth adding to your toolbox.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've done a lot of one-to-one sessions with team members on a bunch of different teams. We've been able to talk about hard things and process difficult situations without the technology taking up space in those conversations. That quality of interaction becomes really important when you can't be there in person.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi David - thank so so much for the kind review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the product team.

  ### 32. Wherebye follows the KISS rule (keep it simple)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor C. | CEO y CTO en Bookipro, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Simplicity, We usually have videoconferences everyday with customers and after evaluting zooms, skypes, jistis and others,f we decided to license Wherebye for its quality, simplicity and price. Customers don't have to manage users, passwords, google accounts... they just need an URL to connect and go into the meeting room. If you want you can close the room so they have to knock the door. As simple as that. Then inside you can have meetings with many peole, share screen, share aps and many other things you won't require. You can also customize with your corporate image your meeting rooms.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Nothing at all. Everything is ok........

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

I'ts a very useful tool if you don't want to lose 15 or 30 minutes on every meeting with partners trying to connect.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In some computers (old ones) when you have a WB session with screen sharing the web navigation is very slow. It perhaps consumes a lot of bandwidth or resources.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Victor - thank you so much for the kind review. I'm glad that you are enjoying using Whereby.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 33. The best videoconferencing platform overall - period

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oscar T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

That you can just send a link (permanent) and anyone can connect super fast to call. I've even used it to help my 74-years old mom have a birthday party with his brothers and sisters (older than her) without any technical issue (asking them to install an app or opening their computers would have been impossible) Also, the sharing feature which it won't only comprise the screen but some other apps as well (such as Google Drive, YouTube videos, Trello boards or Miro whiteboards) enables better collaboration with the video call participants. Video quality is rarely a problem and mobile usage usually means not many trade-offs between the desktop experience.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

That most companies use Zoom, Teams or G Meet for videoconferencing so perhaps enterprise-grade features would be something that helps everyone use this instead of the legacy software suits. The other thing that I find somehow complicated, is when sharing the room's link with people using iOS devices. It asks for installing an app from the Appstore, but it end-ups not being necessary. Another thing that I don't like, is that when you share a YouTube video by using the special feature, it mutes everyone without telling them of so. But overall, I think that Whereby is one of my favorite pieces of software that I've lately discovered.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you are using Whereby for enterprise use, make sure your rooms are locked

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whenever I need to connect with parties outside my company in a fast fashion I use Whereby. Or if these other participants aren't tech-savvy.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Oscar - thank you so much for the kind review. Glad that you are enjoying using Whereby.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 34. Easy to use, nice features and good performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susanne K. | Managing Partner readycheck Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

No installations, easy to use by customers, more than one screen can be shared at the same time (different participants), good UI ensures you share and still keep a good oversight. Offers "in-build emojis"!

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Works perfectly with Chrome and with Safari as well, doesn't like Firefox and Microsoft Browsers. And I literally hate that they removed most of the emojis from the menu when they got "more professional". It would be great to be able to switch backgrounds for one rspeicific room and not the whole package.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the smallest business package and therefor can offer customers and regular participants their own rooms - that makes a lot of things very easy, allows for transparent names/links for that video conference rooms. At the moment all 20 rooms are in usage. Our customers really like that you don't have to install anything and that it's really easy to share screens and exchange stuff in the chat.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Susanne - thank you so much for the feedback. I'll be sure to pass it onto the team.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 35. The best tool for meetings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo d. | Consultor en tecnología, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

In these times, what I appreciate the most is the speed in which one can set up a meeting and the rest of the participants can connect without cumbersome steps.
In my day to day, I really enjoy being able to share a screen in such a simple way and not having to use applications as the tools that dominate the market require by default.
I really appreciate that the tool is constantly evolving and that it works from practically everywhere. We have noticed many details that were added from the moment we made the first contract and that always makes me feel good as a client

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Screen sharing on some laptops is CPU intensive, I wish to have an option to create dynamically channels to have meetings with externals, otherwise, I have to create an delete rooms to prevent externals re-entering to my rooms. with some external happen that they come back and says me: is a good tool!! but they don't understand so good that /channel is my channel :). I know that I should use the protected room but I really apreciate no additional step or protections to enter

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Of all the tools on the market, I have no doubt that Whereby is the tool that best understands the usability and dynamics of meetings in agile environments, we are dedicated to making software and we feel that whereby is made with our same passion.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In times of COVID19, my small business is doing home office and I have meetings with my collaborators through the tool. The most valuable benefit is practicality.
I have been using the tool (free) since I had another name and when the pandemic broke out, I did not hesitate to hire the business plan because I already knew the benefits it gave me to facilitate my day-to-day life from a distance.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Eduardo - thank you so much for the kind review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team.

  ### 36. Why I can't imagine working without Whereby :)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Klaudia S. | Właściciel, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I love the fact that students don't have to instal anything on their computers and that they do not have to create an account. All they have to do is click on the link I give them and we can start our lesson right away. It is very important especially with students of older ages who often are computer illiterates. While having problems with loggin onto other platforms they could join my meetings on Whereby in no time. They really appreciated it.
I can play a YouTube video inside the room without having to go elsewhere. I can also work on Google documents with my students within Whereby. We can co-create a document so it works perfectly with all kinds of projects.
So actually there's no need to use any other tools.
I also like the fact that I can lock the room, so there are no gate crashers on my lessons. There is a nice option of "knocking" at the door, so if someone wants to enter they have to be approved by me.
Another useful option is the timer which is displayed throughout the meeting so you can keep the track of time.
What I appreciate is the fact that once a month Whereby sends "what's new" email informing about the lastest improvements - and the truth is they improve all the time.
While working with kids I often use emoticons which makes them pretty happy. (I wish there were more emoticons available).

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Actually, I love everything. I like it so much I decided to upgrade from a free account to have more functions available. Of course, I wish all these functions were free, but I absolutely understand nobody works for free ;) I would like Whereby to improve playing YouTube videos as it is desirable that when I pause the video on my computer it is also paused on my students' computers.
Sharing screen is another useful option - you can either share the whole screen, a single card or any application. On other platforms it does not work that well.
Maybe if the external links could be opened in the room would be helpful but to tell you the truth I am trying to find any other faults and I have hard time doing do. :)

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

It is by far the most user-friendly platform.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to look for an external whiteboard, because everything is included. The board we share is available for everyone, so we can collaborate and have all kinds of interaction that you can imagine.
I really tried many different platforms, but I will definitely stick to Whereby during oncoming school year as it is THE most convenient tool I have ever used.
Due to the quarantine and all the coronavirus stuff all my problems with working online have been resolved thanks to Whereby and I am really grateful for that.

  ### 37. Whereby is everything video conferencing should be

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

One of the things I really appreciate about Whereby is that it has a very easy signup process – as well as an easy login process. Our users and guests don't have to wait around for anyone to show up – you are automatically connected. And you don't need to be signed in to a specific Google account (this can be a challenge if people are using multiple Google accounts). With Whereby, you avoid these challenges.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

I find it frustrating when sharing my screen or a Keynote/PowerPoint presentation that I can't also share the sound from my Mac. When displaying videos, you want the sound to go through as well. However, that's probably due to a technical limitation on the computer's operating system, and not because of a limitation in Whereby.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Really think about the user experiencing that you are displaying to your customers and colleagues. By using Whereby, you are making it really simple for everyone to connect with you for online meetings and calls.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team uses Whereby as our digital office space. We find that it works equally well for meetings with clients and colleagues, and people we invite to join us on Whereby normally comment on the great user experience. With other online meeting solutions, you normally have to spend a lot of time signing up, logging in, waiting for the organiser and so on. That's not the case with Whereby.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Frank - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team. The team are actively working on audio sharing, so keep an eye out for it!

  ### 38. Nice and easy interface but with a few bugs. Overall the experience was pleasant. Will recommend!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

The interface was very nice and clean, not as busy as zoom's. I could easily set up rooms and change the settings. The color scheme was very nice and pleasing to the eyes as well. Simplicity is Whereby's greatest strength. Also the pricing is very affordable and doesn't break the bank.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Although a great app, it has some few issues: audio was poor, entering the room sometimes messes up your microphone, it happened a couple of times. All i did was to refresh or use my earphones on my laptop. Another issue was the fact that for some reason couldn't share my screen. Whenever i tried, it would kick me out of the room and close my browser. It happens with all browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and the new Microsoft Edge. Sometimes i had to refresh my page to keep chatting. Also seems not to work well with poor internet connections, there's seems to be a lag or latency, especially when sharing your screen. My internet is super fast so i was surprised by this issue. On the other side, the mobile phone works perfectly, i never had issues with audio and sharing the screen was very easy.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

I recommend they should give it a try, but as stated earlier, Whereby has to increase their capacity. If they manage to do so and offer competitive prices, they can easily be up there with Zoom and Google Meets.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily set up meetings and chat instantly with my business partners. Unlike Zoom, setting up a meeting does not take much and i do not have to deal with id's and passwords. Thanks to Whereby, i can solve our clients issues effectively even during the pandemic. I just wished the company could expand and have rooms for over 100 members.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi there - thank you very much for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass on the feedback to the team.

If you experience any more issues, please email support@whereby.com and the team will look into it further.

  ### 39. Whereby crushes the competition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alicia T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I have used Whereby for about 4.5 years now, going back to when it was Appear.in. I own and run and online school, and we use Whereby for our live classes! My teachers and I love Whereby for many reasons. First off, we love the customer service. When we have had families who aren't very tech-savvy, or we have had some minor tech issues during live classes, we have contacted Whereby, and gotten friendly, quick, effective advice/help. Secondly, we love the security of being able to lock our classrooms, as well as the ability to see and hear every person in the room. We have never, in all of our years using Whereby, had a negative experience in a classroom. Third, we love the chat box and emojis for teaching. The kids can interact, either by using the stickers, typing in chat, or going on mic. They can share their work from their cameras. It's the PERFECT classroom, and none of the terrible tech issues you experience with Zoom, or other high profile online platforms.
We are Whereby users for life!!

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Nothing. It's the perfect platform. I suppose there is always room for tech issue improvement, but we are very impressed with the few issues we have had.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Don't waste your time with any other Live platforms. Whereby is easier for your users, has excellent customer service, and won't let you down!

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are countless.
Accounts are very easily set up, and my families are not overwhelmed. Even the least tech-savvy person can join a Whereby room in seconds, and understand how to work everything, in a minute or two. Bravo for simplicity!!

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Alicia - thanks so much for the kind review. Really pleased that you are finding Whereby a useful platform to host classes.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 40. Super simple to use for both hosts and attendees

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J. Santiago V. | Director of Sales, Americas - Consumer Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Very easy to join. the interface is simple. Video is more stable than other services. Connectivity to Miro board, trello and Drive is great!
It is also baby boomer firendly: just click on the link and play, no downloads and maybe an extension when necessary; otherwise is pretty straight forwards.
New capabilities to mute other attendees has also made it better to manage large rooms when the format of the meeting is more conference like.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

there can be lattency issues when working with overseas teams. I'd like an option to blur my cam's background. The name is confusing. It works best on desktop not mobile browsers. Although a big fan of the in-browser nature an app would be good if your need to use your phone instead of computer or tablet.
It would also be great to have a menu wher eyou could see all the chats where you are invited and see if there is someone there. Something like discord but with video. That would be a great way to control hopme office-ing.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

if you need a quick way to video call but your company has many firewalls whereby's in-browser nature makes it fast and easy to use.
I use it for smaller meeting room coversations of up to 12 people and it work really well with the new features where you can mute people.
I hear the service is good but I have not needed to use it. It is way cheaper than the competition.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

managing teams overseas, in face communications allow for better interpretation of communication. COVID19 has pushed us to work from home and Whereby was an important tool in keeping team effectiveness. I am even starting to use for family calls.

  ### 41. Solid and very reliable video conferencing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gav G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Whereby is simple and easy to use. It doesn't have loads of unnecessary, over-complicated features. It does one thing very well: video conferencing. The video virtually never breaks up or freezes, and the audio is always clear.
You can 'own' a room name (or more than one). So the URL link to join is easy to remember, unlike most other video conf services.
With a paid subscription you can add up to 50 members to a room, you can customise the 'waiting room' and the background of your meeting room which is great for branding.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

On rare occasions a client has had problems joining and getting the system to work. We advise people to use Google Chrome browser where possible as this always seems to work fine.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Even pre-Covid we undertook the majority of our work remotely, so we use Whereby daily to discuss projects with both partners and clients. It has become our normal method of communication and we rarely use telephone conference calls any more.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Gav - thank you so much for leaving a review. I'll be sure to pass it onto the team.

All the best,
Josh

  ### 42. The easiest conference tool out there - but still lagging behind competitors for video functionality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick A. | Chief Growth Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I've used pretty much every video conferencing tool out there - Whereby is definitely the easiest, fastest and most convenient. Join the meeting with 2-clicks, branded and easy URLs and no bloated start to the video conference. It also allows for unlimited meeting times compared to Zoom and other tools which is nice. Pricing is very accessible and when you upgrade you get some time personalization such as custom logo and background color (though none look as good as the main one).

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

It lacks a lot of the features that other tools have such as organizer controls, smart backgrounds, advanced screenshare with annotations, collaboration features and advanced user permissions. In addition, very few tools integrate with Whereby out of the box - it would be great if we can create meeting rooms with one click from G suite or Slack for example.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Get it for the ease of use but go with other tools if you want a video conferencing software which will become the backbone of your organization

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to have a simple video "space" similar to a virtual watercooler and Whereby fits the bill due to the branded URL, easy joining, and unlimited time. We actually have a room that is always on which colleagues can join whenever they want. After trying Zoom, Google Meet, Uberconference, Webex and Slack's video call, only Whereby was the tool that worked for this specific need which is why we ended up upgrading

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Nick - thanks so much for leaving a review. I've passed the feedback onto the team.

  ### 43. Easy to hop-in

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theodor K. | Deal-flow Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I like the fact that you can set up multiple rooms and customize them. The fact that you don't need a separate application is a definite bonus. Sharing a single tab was quite intuitive. Integrations with Google Drive, Miro and Trello look great, but I have yet to take full advantage of these.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

When doing screen-sharing, it seems to take a lot of computer RAM and my MacBook Pro tends to overheat.

It's not ideal for webinars as you cannot mute other participants. I have participated in multiple webinars on Whereby and the host just has to lay the ground rules for everyone to mute themselves. Often it does not work so smoothly as some people forget the rule, others join in later with loud noises in the background etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Make sure to choose the right pricing package that errs on the side of letting more people attend. You don't want people not fitting the room.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having client meetings where it is necessary for both sides to share screens. Also whenever there is a scheduled team call. The benefit is that people do not need to download external applications. I like the simple way that recording works and all the recordings are automatically saved on Whereby's system.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Theodor - thanks so much for leaving a review. I've passed on your feedback to the team.

  ### 44. Amazing video conference product really easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francesco M. | CEO and Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Whereby is one of the easiest software for videoconferencing that I ever used.
I used it a lot during the covid 19 lockdown for my company in Italy to make meetings with customers and employees. I particularly like that it doesn't require to install anything on the computer, neither an app nor a plugin, and it just works sending a link. It's really useful that it could work also on mobile devices without installing the app. Screen sharing always works as it should with a couple of clicks.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

It doesn't work very well on Safari (mac) but it doesn't give warnings about it, so sometimes we had to ask the other participant to try to switch browser during the conference because they weren't able to hear us. Another issue is the administration that belongs just to the "master" account, it could be useful to manage a team to give administration rights and to choose the password for the rooms.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

Buy it and use it! it's the best on the market for this price.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to make meetings with my customers or employees. I prefer this solution versus other comparable software because it doesn't require to install a plugin or an app on the computer and allows to connect as a guest without logging in or registering.
This is mostly useful to engage customers and other people that are not belonging to my company because "it just works". We use it a lot also to show our product remotely to the potential customers (inside sales).

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Francesco - Thanks so much for leaving a review. I've passed on your feedback to the team.

  ### 45. Easy to use solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

It is a super-easy platform for invitees as they do not need to download any kind of software if using Whereby from their desktop computer. All they need to do is click the link. I particularly like the option to (easily) customize the meeting rooms with images and/or a logo.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

As a moderator you cannot mute/unmute individual attendees or the entire group. This is challenging in particular for larger groups when you have to ask attendees often several times to mute their mics. We also have issues sometimes with guests who have low bandwith. It appeared in our tests that these callers experienced challenges more frequently than with other platforms.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you are looking for a solution that has very little barriers for your attendees / callers, then Whereby should be among your top choices. We have been searching for a solution specifically with that in mind as we had so many issues with the need to install software. Frequently, people had no permission to install software or certain parts of it were disabled by network administrators. With Whereby, we rarely have such issues. We find it only challenging for people with low bandwith: in those cases other solutions might be better.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Whereby as our go-to solution for video conference calls and smaller meetings/presentations. Since we are heavy users of VC services with our stakeholders, an easy solution is very helpful. With Whereby we were able to reduce the number of calls with tech issues on the other end of the line.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi there - thanks so much for leaving a review. I've passed on your feedback to the product team.

If the issue with bandwidth persists, please contact support@whereby.com and they will look into it further.

  ### 46. Whereby is a Quick and Painless Video Conferencing Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** olivia L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I LOVE that it's not an app users have to download. They simply go to my link and BOOM - they're in! Additionally, I can brand the waiting room and the actually conference room with my own branding and imagery. This presents a polished experience for my clients.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Whereby seems to mess up my internet 1 out of every 5 times. It's possibly a higher demand on my internet, I guess? But I have to refresh constantly. It's a small price to pay. I also don't love the name...I know they re-branded, but I never know whether to say "Where-By" or "Where-bee."

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

The free plan is great, but the customizations come with the paid plan. Also, simply place a link into your scheduling software and users don't have to type in anything at all!

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't love how demanding Zoom is - you have to have an app AND it's under so much scrutiny for privacy and more. Whereby is not like this. You simply give clients a link and then you are immediately in a call with them! This is crucial to an easy workflow.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Olivia - thanks so much for leaving a review. I've passed on the feedback to the team. If the issue with the internet persists please email support@whereby.com and the team can look into it further.

And it's pronounced 'Where-By' in the traditional sense - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGp9X9t3gPs

  ### 47. Why I prefer Whereby over ZOOM anytime

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oliver B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

Best thing about Whereby is the easy availability. You can use an APP but can go without any installation whatsoever ... just enter an URL into your browser and you're ready to go.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Some of the advanced features (like really large rooms) have an unattractive price tag for me. I would like to use Whereby to host classes as well but I'm not willing to pay the price asked. Maybe think about an educational discount?

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you want to check out an easy to use and super fast tool without any installation hassle try Whereby. We started using the free version and very quickly switched to become a paying (and happy for most of the time) customer.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Whereby has always been a part of my business life - not only since COVID hit. We use it to collaborate and also to act as a replacement to Discord and Roll20 - both services people also use for fantasy roleplaying. We use Whereby instead.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

  ### 48. I love it!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

It's pretty easy to brand, from the logos and backgrounds to the actual "domain". The simplicity of use is amazing and it's a very effective tool for meetings presentations and calls.
I believe we could have better tools for branding the site because sometiumes the background and the windows behave weirdly so the actual page brandon doesn't look as good as it could be... but that's not a really big deal.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

Maybe the "knock" button should be clearer so people that gets in to our private room for the first time knows what to do.
I also think that having clearer notifications when everyone's in, for example for the chat, when someone puts a link could be better, here are some ideas:
- detect website links, attached photos and organise them in the chat window so everyone can have a quick look at them every time without having to scroll all the way up and look for them
- send the attachments and links via email (as if appear in had taken notes for the meeting) to the participants who want to receive them.

I think there should be an "online" or "offline" button or marker so you can know whether that room is being used or available at that given moment.... it has happened to me that i schedule a metting with people in a room just to realize it's busy.

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I have been using it since 2018, and since then the software has only been improving. It is easy to use, you don't need to download anything for customers to access, just a browser and of course, the internet is working. I can share screen, talk by video, there is chat and even emoji for whoever wants. The possibility of 3 rooms when paying, was great amid a pandemic to share internal meetings and with clients.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

it's not that I don't like it, but I believe that the possibility of recording should be included for those who already pay the whereby monthly fee, and not be an extra value. And of course, if I had the possibility to use it as streaming it would be fantastic!

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

since 2018 I no longer need to hold face-to-face meetings, since the whereby is extremely stable! I don't spend more time traveling.

**What do you like best about Whereby Meetings?**

I like that opening the video chat room is a simple as typing in my custom url in my browser. Don't have to worry about additional software.

**What do you dislike about Whereby Meetings?**

I sometimes experience lag or video delays but it may be the performance of my machine slowing things down.

**Recommendations to others considering Whereby Meetings:**

If you want an easy video chat solution, whereby is a really good option in my opinion. I've been using them since they were called appear.in and use the service weekly for multiple types of meetings. You don't ever need to go fishing for a meeting link in your calendar again. You can just use bookmark the room link or type in the easy to remember url that you create. I love having rooms that are named like whereby.com/insertyourprojectnamehere with matching branding inside the room.

**What problems is Whereby Meetings solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for weekly team calls for a variety of projects. There's a great google doc tool where we can video chat while simultaneously editing the doc.

**Official Response from Josh Pafford:**

> Hi Mike - thanks so for the feedback. I've passed it on to the team. If the lag issue persists please feel free to contact support@whereby.com and they will look into it further.

All the best,
Josh
