When To Work is easy to set up by end-users and requires no IT implementation for easy use cases. From our standpoint, it doesn't feel like an enterprise system. The security settings and integration support appear to be a bit lacking. That isn't a show stopper for our use cases however. I like that you have so many options for vowing your and your co-workers' schedules. You can see it visually by week or month, and you can choose just your shifts or everyone's shifts. It is somewhat annoying to trade shifts because even if you and a co-worker have agreed on an arrangement, you can only submit a request for supervisor approval and not just orchestrate the exchange. This is great for multiple employees with changing schedules. The software makes it easy to switch shifts and change shifts if need-be. Very basic and easy to use. It is so easy for employees to set preferences, request time off, and trade shifts. The bulletin board and direct message features are a great way for the staff to communicate on a work website, instead of needing to exchange phone numbers. I really like that the program sends me an email when my shifts have been updated/posted for the next week. I also like that it shows me other shifts that are available for picking up if I ever have to time to pickup some more shifts. It’s super easy and clear to read everything, whether it’s when I’m working, how many hours I’m working a week, or when I could possibly pickup shifts. I dislike that sometimes the shift trade board looks a little jumbled up and crowded, making it a little hard to read sometimes. WhenToWork has helped me solve the problem of figuring when, where, what uniform to wear, and what time it is that I have to work at. If I ever need to double check to see if I’m wearing the correct uniform, I can just check WhenToWork because my employer puts it on there as well when my weekly schedule is posted. My favorite aspect of When to Work is the ease of use. It is very logical how to do each thing through both the online website and the app. As a manager and scheduler, I like that I can save templates of schedules that I repeatedly make and that I can autofill those shifts without much thought. The ability to check schedules both online and on your phone is useful in that it provides a variety of ways to easily access ones schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about WhenToWork by TCP? My only complaint with When to Work is that lately not all shifts have been showing up on a person's schedule when using the app in only certain "views". A shift will show up on a computer and in some phone views, but not on the home page or upcoming shifts page. When I'e communicated this with When to Work support they tell me that this happens because the app has not refreshed. However this doesn't make sense, becuase no updates have been made recently when this occurs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Prior to utilizing When to Work, my organization had a set monthly schedule that was not responsive to changing event needs or a person's specific time off requests. Using When to Work with a weekly schedule has allowed us to solve this problem. It does not add much addititional time to the scheduler's day either. Employees have clearly communicated shifts with no discrepancy over who is expected to work when. This has been a great improvement for our organization! I can separate my student workers by area they work, schedule them however far in advance I want, send out messages to select groups or everyone at once, and so much more. I wish I could select multiple shifts to delete at once, instead of having to do it one at a time or delete the whole schedule. I also with there was a drag and drop option for moving shifts. It'd make it so much easier than having to go in and manually change the beginning and end times. I would also love if WhenToWork could create something that allows students to use the program to clock in and out. This would cut out a lot of extra work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering WhenToWork by TCP: If you are just starting out with WhenToWork, make sure that you are utilizing the saved schedule feature. It's been a huge help to me. I can save different schedules for during the school year, breaks, intersession and holidays. It makes it so much easier to just make the schedules once, then fill them in with different students.
