I don't particularly appreciate that there are different charges for different features when accessed through other methods. For instance, if I type in a case or citation and click on it from the Dropbdown search menu, I will be charged less for pulling the case than if I pressed enter or the maginifying glass button in the search bar. As is the case with all legal research platforms, it can be expensive. They offer different types of plans/accounts to combat this issue, but it is still pricey. This is their biggest downfall. Laurie Fitzgerald is just awful. Out of blue she is our new "rep" and accuses me of one of my legal secretaries being an attorney (so they can gouge us and increase our monthly fee). Then she decides to send a certified letter lying by claiming after months of negotiating (she approached me literally only three weeks ago) and she wants to increase our rate from $5,998 per month to $12,914 per month! Westlaw has a usable interface, with its colors and subtabs making categories and subcategories easy to find. Their cases are automatically listed in order of most relevant and cited, versus other leading research brands which simply list the cases in order of most relevant to your search. The statutes interface is less usable, as it takes more time to search for the relevant statutes than what I've experienced with other leading legal research brands. Although Westlaw provides the Rutter Group treatises, it's more difficult to either get to the treatise and/or find the relevant provision within the treatise you're looking for. The interface is very clear and well-organized, not too cluttered like other platforms tend to be. Also, the citing references feature is well-organized and makes it easy to find supporting material and to trace a line of case law. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One feature I wish Westlaw would add would be more international law case law, such as being able to view international cases (ICJ, ICC, other countries) with a citation system. Some projects require using international sources, and having an easily accessible source-code/citation to reach it quickly would be a make difference and allow me to finish my work faster. Westlaw is not organized in a visually stimulating way. It would be helpful to add different colored highlights to search terms to narrow down which parts of a document are relevant to your research.
