**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

One of the benefits of working with Western Computer is their webinars and user group summits. I find that having users of the same platforms collaborate and bring ideas together is a big plus.

I have my go to product managers and developers when it comes to certain projects, and I'm really looking forward to the growing team and added support this will bring.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

It can get pricey however we've found a good balance internally to mitigate this concern.

**Recommendations to others considering Western Computer:**

Having a technical background helps with communicating with any developer. Having a background of Navision and Business Central base is also a big plus before starting to migrate over or when adding custom extensions.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since we are in the wine and liquor industry, it requires a lot of customization to Business Central. By having Western Computer provide their 365 Wine Trade, we are able to get up and running more quickly.

  ### 2. Competent on the surface, but can put you out of business in a hurry (Not kidding)

**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

The people were generally kind. That kindness didn't translate to competence.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

I disliked having to work 16 -18 hour days for a while to help fix issues that never should have occurred. That was a rough couple of weeks.  The Months after that weren't much better. I enjoyed working for that company too before it went under.

**Recommendations to others considering Western Computer:**

Don't use them for major projects. Probably also best to never provide them admin credentials to anything.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The company I used to work for partnered with these guys for many years at arm's length. They were invited one day to help with the ERP migration and warehouse operations migration to F&O D365 (which itself is a joke of a product). Prior they were helpful and have done good work.  They helped and all seemed well up until launch.

At launch nothing worked quite right and things were dead in the water for weeks and couldn't ship orders. It was impossible to catch up for months. Customers were very upset. 

Their turnaround time for requests before and after was not the best. We were constantly having to beg for some attention. It was quite often that a custom piece of software we asked for had to be reworked as their developers were on the opposite side of the world and it was a game of telephone for them internally.

One of the consultants on the project would jokingly say in an attempt to reassure us, "Nobody has gone out of business....yet haha". Well, they technically can't say that anymore.  A company employing 150+ people tanked over the repercussions of this. That's not even the best part.

Turns out the buyer of the assets of the old company had Western Computer login to their newly purchased servers/services without permission, sabotaged the system, and locked them out. Western Computer successfully tanked one company and almost took out a second due to pure vindictiveness. 

My opinion is to steer clear of them for any major projects. Small, one-off stuff, sure. Don't hitch your wagon to them though. 

So to answer the prompt more directly, there was no benefit - it was a detriment to me professionally and personally.

**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

I believe that Western is our IT service provider.  The network is stable and there have been no issues in daily operation.
Installing a working version of MS Dynamics is not easy.  Our company uses it daily and it works well.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

Email responses take days to a week to come back.  Sometimes it is clear that the information requested in the email was not read or understood.
One of the key holdups is that Business Central needs to have the key identifying information put into the program.  A barcode reader will not link to the item scanned if there is no such key.  I would have expected an expert in the system to know this and point  it out at the begining of the project.

Requesting to close a project without delivering a working version of a program is silly.

**Recommendations to others considering Western Computer:**

I would advise others to carefully write down their user requirements in the scope of work so that the deliverables are clearly established.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Western is helping to implement Warehouse Insight and Dynamic Ship.  The project is over a year old and I have been involved for about 2 months.  Im told it was supposed to take no more than 6 months.  Neither Warehouse Insight or Dynamic Ship are fully operational.  There is no benefit at this point.

  ### 4. Western Computer offered guidance & expertise throughout our migration from NAV5 to Business Central

**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

I appreciate the approach Western has taken with our upgrade. We were facing a new implementation with most of the vendors we interviewed, before signing up with Western. The upgrade approach has been a great benefit to us and helped determine which customizations we would need to bring forward.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

I wouldn't characterize my experience in this way. Discovery, development, and deployment of our customizations have taken longer than expected. This has been the case with most development projects I have been involved with in my professional experience. That said, it did feel at times as though our team at Western was juggling other projects. Again, it was an expectation that a complicated project like ours would have setbacks and delays before we started the project.

**Recommendations to others considering Western Computer:**

I would urge other potential customers to make sure they are REALLY ready to begin their project. Identify why you are upgrading or implementing a new system. What are the indicators of success? Do you have your processing documented? Identify staff members you can count on to follow through on requests made by Western, other third party vendors, as well as your other staff members. Western does guide you through this process, but even though we felt ready to proceed with this project, there were times I felt my documentation of business processes were woefully inadequate.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had been using an ERP well past its EOL. Our current system, Dynamics NAV 5, was highly customized and integrated throughout the rest of our enterprise systems such as our website, EDI, and extranet applications. Western was able to help us define a path forward, including helping us modernize and bring forward many of our customizations into Business Central. The open architecture of Business Central allowed us to quickly integrate with the rest of our enterprise applications, including supporting older systems. In effect, this project allowed us to put a new engine into an aging sports car. We will be able to modernize the rest of our enterprise around our new ERP.

**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

The people - I worked extensively with Lynn Li and she was exceptional in the time and detail she offered to help us effectively and efficiently transition to the new accounting system. She gave us so much of her time and was always there to help us through whatever obstacles or roadblocks we encountered.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

No complaints. The only issue I had was dealing with the higher up project managers that didn't seem to care about the specifics of our group and didn't really engage much with the project

As long as you get to work with Lynn Li you are in great hands!

**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

Purpose-built add-ins specific to our remanufacturing industry were a big plus. The current team we are working with are all great folks.  Helpful, communicative, professional.  I enjoy colaborating with them.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

There has been a lot of turn-over in our collaboration team, which has been frustrating at times.  However, I will say, the team we have assembled now is a great team.  Also, we have some very unique business processes that are hard to quantify at times.  As we discover new nuances we missed early on, pushing the go-live date has has been contentious in the past, even if I was the one requesting an extension.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are upgrading our existing GP/CRM system to Business Central with add-ins purpose built for our industry.  These add-ins have eliminated much of the cumbersome and problematic customizations in our current environment.

I have been happy with the response time even if it is not the response I would like to see.

Things that seem like simple fixes (add radial button) require multy hour development quotes.

Global was helpful recently in helping us with Sandbox maintenance which has helped our testing ability.  We are moving into reporting which is an open ticket now.

I made a mistake on a order in BC and someone was able to quickly get in a meeting with me and help me solve my issue.

Each of the consultants we worked with at Western Computer had a straight-forward, solutions-focused approach with valuable input on the decisions we made as we collaborated on the best direction for the process.  Solutions were able to be implemented in a short time frame to keep the project moving forward.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

After we brought the system fully on line, there were times when it was difficult to reach the consultants.  With the fast-paced environment in which out production facility operates, every minute is critical.

**Recommendations to others considering Western Computer:**

If a company is considering Western Computer as a solutions provider, I would recommend a close look at all operations before contacting Western to ensure that the desired solution is fully understood before the solution is developed.  While time spent understanding the process is value-added activity for all involved, doing the work ahead of time to truly understand your needs would allow the business to impement their solution in a time frame that minimizes waste while in development.

The Western Computer team worked closely with our SME's to commission an ERP solution for manufacturing and warehouse operations and provided insight into improvement opportunitites across the entire value stream.  Western offered their insight and expertise in all aspects of our business and helped us create a path toward full ERP integration.

They are able to handle any of the small hiccups we have with BC, to the more complicated issues we have with our test enviroments or bugs as a result of upgrades.

If you want to outsource your CRM needs, I can easily recommend Western Computers.

We don't have a large IT staff (I'm it), so we like to work with partners for our Microsoft tools. Western Computers has a friendly and knowledgeable staff that knows CRM way better than I do. They also stay on top of all of the updates and changes behind the scenes, so I don't have to.

**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

Prompt and friendly service.  I have worked personally with the CTO and he bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

In the beginning personel turn over made it difficult to implement projects, however it seems they have ironed that out.

**Recommendations to others considering Western Computer:**

If you need help supporting Microsoft Navision via a 3rd party company, western is top notch when it comes to finding and implementing solutions.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Western supports our company with Microsoft Navision. We have 2 IT staff on premise and are stretched thin when it comes to support.  Western is prompt and knowledgeable with their support

Quick to respond to issues and knowledgable about the system. They also will make sure your issue is fixed as best as possible.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

Nothing, really. Most of my issues are with Microsoft, and Western can't control that.

It's a good solid helpful company

Western recently helped me retreive a specialized email template that goes out with our invoices. It had been deleted in error, and they were able to help me find it so we could continue to send it out with our BC invoices.

Our consultants - Felix Morales and Alan Lyczkowski. They are always willing to help us and fix the bugs on the spot.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

Nothing really to mention here. The small one couls be the time zone difference. which at the begining made scheduling our meetings difficult.

Helping us with transitioning from QuickBooks to Business Central. Creating reports templates in BC that are similar to those that we used in QB

**What do you like best about Western Computer?**

The people. The people are super friendly and helpful. When they do not have an answer they tirelessly look for the answers to help solve any issues that arise.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

Sometimes I feel like the reps might be a bit overloaded. Then again our setup has been very problem filled. We have had a lot of things arise that they've never seen before so we are all learning together with this.

**Recommendations to others considering Western Computer:**

If you want reps that are great to work with and are not monotoned then these are the ones to go with. They strive to help get everything flowing well and work one on one with you with any issues that arise.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Western Computer is helping us to move to a new accounting system. Working through all of the little issues that arise and helping implement the new software.

A ticket is typically picked up and a quick call is had to show and get the support staff started.  I feel like this is the best and most efficent way to handle troubleshooting versus over email back and forth.

Depending on the ticket and assignment, it can be a while before you hear anything back.  Although recently that has not been the case and timing has been better.

Our Nav software has issues from time to time whether its insurance releasing holds or retainage messed up due to credits.  Recently was able to get a program change to the construction loan module that has saved a lot of heartburn.  We also have many upgrade and issue with Builder MT that they help coordinate and intervien when necessary

I was very surprised by their responsiveness.  We tried reaching out to several other resellers, but were consistently 
either put on hold, left messages that still remain unreturned, or were given a 2-day turn around for a response.  WD's response via chat was immediate and was followed up with a phone call while the chat was still going on.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

I am a new customer, but so far I don't have any dislikes.

They took my problem seriously and bent over backwards to get me situated as quickly as possible.  My sales rep, Shane, kept me in the loop about what was going on during the entire time he was working on it for me.   Their turn around time and service far exceeded my expectations.

Once I was established in their portal, they took the time to walk me through the administration of my account.  They are also  making sure that I take advantage of free services that are part of our setup.  Shane also explained my various options related to licensing and how I can maximize the ecomony of it by purchasing the most relevant licenses for my needs.   I really can't express how happy I am with the service.

We had a license expire for a critical piece of software.  We were unaware that it was expiring becuase our old reseller didn't alert us.  I needed a new license immediately to meet critical deadlines.

They are quick with support tickets and the turn around time on speccing and implementing new features is great as well. They're Business Intelligence Analyst Dan Williams is extremely knowledgeable and is willing and eager to teach anyone who wants to learn about Power Bi and other reporting and analytics tools. Sici Lopez on the Support team has been a really great addition to the team over the past year and has helped us resolve a ton of issues with Business Central and NAV and has been a great trainer for our Product Manager.

The costs of licenses for their propiertary extensions like 365WineTrade are a bit steep even though they are very powerful and have become core functions of our business so I understand the value they bring.

While the costs for certain licenses may be a bit steep the level of service vs hourly rate is a really great value for the quality of work and service you recieve. The staff is all extremely knowledgeable and willing to teach and explain issues for future troubleshooting which is becoming more and more of a rarity in the see of Microsoft Partners as more companies want to keep you on the hook for support.

We have been working with Western Computers for over 20 years and they have helped us implement, migrate and maintain our ERP systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Dynamics NAVision 2009 and earlier. The transition to Business Central was a huge change for our company as we had worked with our current accounting program for over 10 years and had additional applications working with it. The best part of working with Western Computer was how knowledgeable they were not only with Business Central but also with the accounting aspect of the business. The support was fantasic and every question was answered and explained. I felt that I if I needed anything during the transition, I had someone able to assist me.

Western is an efficient company to work with for new system implementations. I would recomend having a full set of company proceedures & workflows to allow western to best understand your company needs and help develop and implement the best system possible.

Western  has been assisting in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics D365 and WMS module in 2023. Assisting with Shop Floor Exectuion and MRP in 2024, along with our D365 implementation in India. They have been effective at assisting us in training for the new sysems and assisting with developing our processes based on new abilities of the systems we are now using. The Western teams training has allowed me to become a far more effective user of the system. Its allowed me to develop new capabilites and processes in the system even after the training is complete. Has really helped us transition into a more modern digital production facility improving sho floor visibility and efficency.

Western Computer is approachable, consistent, support is highly knowledgeable and  invested in learning your business.  Some Microsoft partners will shoot down development or modification ideas, while Western Computer team is open to listening to the business case and providing their recommendation. Service level is consistent with support requests are acknowledged almost immediately.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

Western Computer could improve service offerings for F&O Testing. Microsoft is releasing new versions and quality of life updates often, as a result testing can become a challenge for F&O admins. Testing becomes especially important with customizations. Rather than submitting support tickets, it would great if Western Computer could keep track of their customization, code changes and proactively test inbound updates by account.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Western Computer has been critical in our D365 F&O implementation and development. They've helped resolve challenges around reporting, scan gun menus, and worked with our internal tech teams to develop business specific customizations. Western Computer has also done a lot of work helping us troubleshoot disconnects between configuration and business process. Most recently they were able to help troubleshoot and resolve an issue where manufacturing inventory transactions were not consuming the correct raw materials. Within a few hours Western Computer support replicated and identified the issue, tested a solution along side our team, and guided us through the resolution. Western Computer's approach of working together with our team on resolutions has helped our IT team learn through experience.

**What do you dislike about Western Computer?**

They pretty much did the bare minimum in getting us setup, and we've found later after using the software for a while that they cut some corners and didn't train us thoroughly which has caused a lot of headaches down the road that we needed to get some custom development in order to work around.

**What problems is Western Computer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They helped us roll out Microsoft Business Central, upgrading our old Navision on premise setup.

We've been through 3 project managers and countless consultants and still have not been able to migrate from NAV2018 to Business Central

I had the unique opportunity of stepping in midway on a CRM implementation with Western Computer. As both an exectuvie sponsor and operational lead I had the foresight a changing our approach to settling for an out of the box solution, and requested many changes that would better suit our teams sales operations. The Western Computer team handled these change orders both professionally and ease. This help our organization develop the best solution possible while eliminating any uncessary friction. I would recommend Western Computer to any company that had a need for their expertise.

Western Computer helped is implement a full service CRM through Microsoft. The CRM allows us to effectively track prospective client communicaitons while automating as many tasks as possible. This allows for high volume lead generation while keeping our sales team as lean as possible.

Everyone at Western Computer was extremely organized. They often predicted our questions before we could ask them. The developers were skilled enough to make most of our custom requests happen.

Our team worked with Joselyn extensively, and she was enormously helpful and friendly. We had an excellent experience with customer service, particularly with clear communication and turnaround speed.

There wasn't really anything to dislike.

They make us feel like we are not a number.  All their personal, including Tom Bardos take our calls any time and their response time is incredible.   
I work directly with one their programmers, Benito Hernandez and he is amazing.

Honestly,  I  can not think of anything.

The list will be incredible big!  
They have ben our partners for 20+ years.
Let say the came on board to clean up a mess another partner left for us when we implemented NAV 2.0
From there on they have been holding our hands on every single project we had.  
Probably one of the biggest one that comes to mind is helping me to Make SAP and NAV work together.
Jhon Collins even traveled out of the state with me for more than a week to accomplish this task.

Sometimes it is easier to do a working session with a developer. Some developers will do this, others try not to and it can prolong the resolution of a problem

We used Western for an ERP conversion and are now in the managed service phase.
