The most interesting thing about Webhouse.io turns out to be its interface, which has a fairly simple, straightforward and intuitive design that allows us to perform all our tasks in a much simpler, faster and more practical way, the fact that it allows me to achieve Much faster and easier all the documentation, code and apis that I need for my projects is something that is definitely quite useful to speed up my developments, in fact something that I also liked a lot is the fact that I can search for a safer and faster way on the dark web, which is something not many applications offer. What bothers me the most is the fact that to perform a search on the dark web requires authorization from the webhouse.io team, something that seems unnecessary to me. The api are easy to use and provide full control for language and source selection. It is possible to specify individual domains, though not new ones to my knowledge. The preview feature is fantastic for real time feedback to our clients. Overall, the web interface and the api have been very useful to us in assisting our own clients. So far, Webhose is the cheapest solution for getting this data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Webz.io? Not possible to add particular domains to be crawled at least from our experience. Historical data are not retained for us, so we needed to pay twice the same historical data collection. It would be useful to guarantee a personal repository to keep all historical data requests until the user explicitly delete them. As of Feb 2020, it is no longer possible to change the plan within the web interface and it is need the intervention of the sales representative. I think this is a great limitation for small companies like ours which are quite dynamic and need to adapt to the cash flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Webz.io solving and how is that benefiting you? Serving our client feed of news and blog posts about different topics and applying sentiment analysis on them. The preview feature is very useful to us as we can show real time search within our own platform. With other platform only a preview of the text are scraped and this is not good for our scopes. I have used Webhose.io as a data source for a cyber-security R&D project. With the help of Webhose have sourced the data from Darknet and combined it with Facebook, Instagram and other social media services. Unfortunately, R&D development that was based on Webhose data never went into production. Consultants from Webhose were still reaching out to us offering new business use cases and now we are considering a new proposal to our partners that will include new use case recommended by Yuval. Webhose services help our clients to know if news portals are talking about their businesses or relevant issues. What I like best about Webhose is that the customer service is excelent, if I have a problem they will help me ASAP to resolve it or explain why it is happening and what I can do about it. Then we had to reduce the length of it because of the HTTP request limitations, so we are making more generic queries, resulting much more results and therefore, having to make more queries to paginate that results and using more quota. We love Webhose and use it for the source of data for our content curation search engine. It works really great and fairly simple to set up if you are a dev. Thoroughly recommended for platforms or services looking for a done for you web scraper and data supplier for the purposes of content marketing/sharing etc. The cost of the platform is extremely affordable for one man bands or growing companies and the rate at which they index new content and data is very fast. The support team are pretty much available whenever I need them and they usually respond with a solution within 24 hours so it really helps knowing they are on standby, usually its something I have done wrong and not the actual API itself. The amount of data that comes in through webhose is massive, it's more than the other providers we tested. The Python API is quite useful as well. You cannot use your regular credits to get data older than 30 days but instead have to pay additionally if you want to access old data. Besides, the data is not enriched, i.e. you don't really know about the category (apart from overall page category). You also need to take care of deduplicating data yourself. Analysing news data for our clients. With webhose we can be sure that we have all the news data there is. Besides you can get data from other sources than news pages, i.e. discussion boards or blogs.
