  ### 12. WebStorm IDE Excellent!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yaniro B. | Bitcoin Crypto Currency Trader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

WebStorm makes available to professional web developers any new technology they want to use, as well as all the right tools:
Support for CoffeeScript 3.0 (including navigation, code wizard, refactoring, bug checking and more) to help you get the most out of the conciseness and readability of this JavaScript extension.
Integration with JSLint that allows new inspections to verify the quality of the code.
Support for Node.JS that will allow you to use the full potential of this IDE for editing and debugging JavaScript on the server side.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Worst of all is being a commercial product, with high prices depending on the type of license. It's not expensive, but comparing what you bring against free options like the aforementioned Komodo Edit may not be worth it. This aspect is complicated, if we develop with different technologies, because unlike other environments, if we use for example PHP, we will need PhpStorm.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

A very convenient feature is that it automatically saves the changes, so at the time of coding we have a less concern. As defects, the main one is that it uses a .idea folder to save your preferences at the project level, so we have to take it into account when cleaning it prior to distribution. The performance could be better too.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reluctant to the idea of an IDE programmed in Java, I must admit that compared to similar options Netbeans or Eclipse, the performance is very good.

  ### 13. Love webstorm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

full suite of applications that all behave similarly

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

still not as easy as Visual Studio in some aspects

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating websites

  ### 14. Excellent front end IDE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamad S. | Application Development Manager, Hospital & Health Care, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Real time debugging feature is very helpful. We do full stack, so this feature is helpful when adjusting the look and feel of the front end of our web apps. Sometimes you are off by a few pixels, and this saves time.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

jsp support is practically non existent.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit is facilitation of rapid development. We work on a variety of clinical web apps, and this tool speeds up the front end development

  ### 15. Webstorm

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2018

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Was developing front-end on Webstorm, created a website for my organization.

  ### 16. Absolutely love it!!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parikshith M. | Instructional Student Assistant, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

It is fast and since it is meant for non-compiled languages it has helped me catch any coding errors while development. Unit tests and debugging are extremely user friendly for most of the Node js application development which i have carried out.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

It doesn't have a community edition unlike say IntelliJ, which can make it difficult for students to use it.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Go for it if you want to have better coding standards. It can help you import ESLint too which can bring standard guidelines to the coding development. This was the best thing which happened to me as JS developer. This is a developers delight.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nodejs project was done using this brilliant IDE. The code completion features was fantastic and improved my productivity as I didn't have to refer to Google for the answers related to the languages and its semantics

  ### 17. Great full featured IDE for web development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Senior Web Developer, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

It has everything I need; easy refactoring, SVN integration, good code completion, helpful errors and messages

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Some of the warnings are a little too nitpicky, and I haven't found a way to turn off just some of them.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Absolutely worth getting

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we began transitioning our application from Flash to HTML5 we tried out a few different IDEs and WebStorm was by far the best. It's full featured and pleasant to use, and doesn't get in the way of coding too much while still being helpful.

  ### 18. Heroic IDE for Web Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaikunth S. | Graduate Research Assistant, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

I like the following in WebStorm:

Lightweighted Application
Easy shortcuts
Color Theme.
Code Formatting.
Seamless Version Control integration.
Useful starter boilerplates.
Method suggestions.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Only think i regret is that it is not free for use unless you are a student or paid user.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

If you are a JS or UI beginner choose WebStorm

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily Web development. Entire element is accomplished through Webstorm. Even micro-services or small code scripts are done easily.

  ### 19. Great tool but resource heavy and lighter options give it a run for it's money

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

I enjoyed webstorm a few years ago when visual studio support for web (html/js) editing was lacking at best. It provided a nice level of intellisense support along with refactoring capabilities and simple syntax highlighting/recognition that was not available in other tools.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

It is based on java and thus uses a ton of system resources to do its job.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

I would consider just using VSCode or another lightweight editor at this time. The cost/value of the tool is starting to lessen. Also since it uses so many computer resources to do its job, it can be a real drag on one's already heavily taxed development environment.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I found it incredibly useful for increasing my productivity developing for the web. It helped to avoid simple errors at the editing level rather than waiting until runtime.

  ### 20. The best IDE for web development in a team (Git)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

- It increases code quality and reduce dev time because of JsTestDriver
- Live Edit plugin to see live changes
- Search for all the actions you can perform (text search - Ctrl+Shift+A)

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Its relatively slow to boot and indexing takes time. Opens up a new project IDE everytime if I open a file outside current project.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Highly consider Jetbrains products if you're in a team environment using Git. Webstorms is highly useful for node applications development and react app development which I have personally tested.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm developing cloud based enterprise application. Its really helpful for a big application like ours to view everything as a single project and the git integration is highly helpful for instant collaboration. I never use external git commands when I'm in this IDE.

  ### 21. Good IDE for web developers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aishwariyaa I. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Easy to use. The content assist for different Javascript framework is awesome. The plugins are easy to install and use.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

It takes some time to get familiar with the options and there is no easy tutorial for them.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Very good tool for web developers

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using webstorm for my web application development. It easily syncs with Git / Perforce for version control

  ### 22. Great IDE for Front-End Development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David C. | Software Engineer, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Although WebStorm is feature-rich and takes a bit of time to get comfortable with (see below), it's quick and easy to get started with it's basic functionality. As you get more familiar and comfortable with the product, the additional development features really start to come in handy.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Like any good software these days, there's a lot going on. If you're a competent developer and comfortable with a editor or IDE, you'll be able to get off to a quick start with WebStorm. However, if you really want to get to know WebStorm, there's a bit of a learning curve (and let's be honest, you're paying for the license to get the most out of it). I used WebStorm for about 2 years and I feel like I just barely cracked the surface.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

If you're development focus is the front-end and have some extra time to get familiar with a big IDE, give WebStorm a try. If you're employer will pay for the license, why not??

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used WebStorm in my role as a Front-End Developer. WebStorm provided an easy-to-use interface with many features that came in handy for front-end development, all in one place. Once I got my bearings with the product, it certainly helped speed up my development process.

  ### 23. WebStorm is a good IDE product

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

WebStorm is useful for programming and writing code in an IDE. WebStorm has a lot of good features like good UI, good user experience, and it is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

WebStorm is not very popular, and therefore very few other colleagues use it.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

WebStorm is good for coding and debugging. It is a useful tool and good IDE. It is good for writing code. Also, it has good auto complete. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to write code or debug their code when there are issues. WebStorm is not free though, which is bad. I would not recommend paying for it if you have to pay yourself, because there are so many other options for IDEs to use that are free to download online.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writing code for software dev. Also debugging. Benefits realized include completing coding tasks.

  ### 24. Rare from JetBrains that is not good

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sameer P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Liked the auto-correct the most and the feature that let me move around the project easily and that is pretty much it.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Disliked most parts of it, it just does not provide proper web-related functionalities which JetBrains does for other editors. I wish it was better or may be its just me.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Not that good, try others.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used it for developing web apps. Had to go into a lot of issues and didn't have webstorm help me get out.

  ### 25. Powerful JavaScript IDE

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Handles Vue, React, Angular, and node. Easy to customize.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Not the nicest UI, bulky editing screen.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

When you're looking to work with multiple js frameworks, this is a very handy solution.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Error detection and code completion make this a very handy tool when writing JavaScript. Easy to switch between different frameworks.

  ### 26. Best Cross-Platform JavaScript IDE

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Everything seems to just work and it's constantly being updated.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

It can't self-update. You have to download the program and reinstall it (OS X)

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Just do it

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consistent development environment with a low learning curve but a large feature set.

  ### 28. The IDE For JavaScript Developer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Webstorm is built on the same platform as Intellij. To those who have used Intellij for Java developer, using Webstorm will feel right at home. I also like the rich set of plugins that are available for the vast amount of the Javascript technologies out there.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Could not really think of any. Really wish there is a free version of the software, similar to what they have for Intellij.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool really ease the development for Javascript. The support for the language is excellent, which allows building high quality softwares faster.

  ### 29. Great environment for all project development

**Reviewed by:** Shawn C. | Software Developer, Civil Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

The refactoring and library plugins are what make it really shine. I loved the jslint and jshint support that could be turned on as well.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

I never came upon anything I disliked once it was up and running. The load time though always felt a little long.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

I have not found another editor that I prefer over WebStorm for web development.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used WebStorm to get a website for an esthetician up and running quickly. WebStorm has everything I, personally, have ever felt I needed in an IDE for web development.

Nothing so far, everything has been great!

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clean, code

  ### 32. Just like IntelliJ Idea, only more web-development oriented

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Itai B. | SDK Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Well, for someone who has already worked with IntelliJ Idea, the IDE is very familiar. For those who don't - try it. It's a great IDE.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

Takes some time to know all the features, and the default shortcuts are different than Visual Studio, for example, or from Developer Tools window of a browser.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

If you can afford it, use it. If you can't, at least try the free version. It's a full fledged IDE, with debugger and everything, but closer in look and feel to a generic editor.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a one-stop-shop for all that is web-development related.

  ### 33. Great JavaScript IDE

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

Decent debugger, clean UI that's easy to use

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

I could just use notepad / Visual code, something more light weight

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

JavaScript dev, no benefits over other platforms

  ### 34. Full of functionalities but clunky

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

Slows down my computer and crashes from memory overload.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 36. Wonderful product for Javascript and rapid editing IDE needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

WebStorm offers some of the best code legibility and navigation features of any product I've used. It's clean, fast, and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

I've had some issues with very large files where the characters towards the end of the file started getting transposed. This was rare though and only for very large files.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

This is the sort of product that fits a use case for a particular user who wants to edit quickly, in a responsive editor, that mainly caters to Javascript and other languages that benefit from the syntax verification and things that JetBrains does very well.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid Javascript-style development.

  ### 37. Intimate knowledge of JavaScript

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

A bit slow and heavy compared to visual studio code.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

An excellent IDE for managing large projects. Ability to step through Javascript browser code using Chrome plugin. Expensive compared to free VS Code. Excellent integration with GitHub.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use WebStorm for all Angular 2+ development. Speed of development. W

  ### 38. A fully-featured IDE for web development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanya G. | JavaScript Developer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

The language support is fantastic, it supports all the configuration I need for developing complex web projects. The integrated support for external JavaScript libraries is a real bonus, so I never need to have more than one project window open.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

The code analysis can sometimes be a bit laggy, with changes such as an error correction taking several seconds to be updated in the editor.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

The customisations are really powerful. Take the time to set up your IDE just how you like it and you'll never want to use anything else.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps all my development-related tasks in one window, making it easy to see the status of the project at a glance. Developing libraries in tandem with the projects that consume them is very helpful.

It’s terrible when you want a IDE to get out of the way. You will get multiple alerts about plugins available for frameworks, plugins, packages, configs that you have on your project.

Set up your environment settings before using webstorm. You may hate getting so many alerts regarding the framework you are using.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With every developer using Webstorm, it speeds up our workflows individually but also when we are in pairs (we use the same lingo when referring to webstorm tools).

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

It does most of the items that we needed and was less complicated than Visual Studio

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

There is a free version so give it a try and see if you like it.

We use WebStorm to development Node.js applications and deploy them to AWS. It works well for this task.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick C. | Information Technology Architect, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2017

**What do you like best about WebStorm?**

The specific configurations make writing code much easier and the live preview for most languages is helpful.

**What do you dislike about WebStorm?**

The set up takes awhile. If you use several IDEs, the keybindings never match (not WebStorm's fault, of course). I haven't had an application yet that could exist, more or less, within WebStorm the way some more complex IDEs like Netbeans or Eclipse may do. We evaluated this product and did not purchase.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Try it out with your actual stack before committing.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accelerating software development, especially with web applications.

**Recommendations to others considering WebStorm:**

Try out many editors for the same code to determine ease of use for the user.

**What problems is WebStorm solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Write code in the editor. Benefits are same to other editors, but WebStorm offers language-specific applications such as PHPStorm.
