Their test configuration is really great! personally, I find it really good because the low effort to configure tests to run against remote environments. When I was learning JavaScript, WebStorm provided a fantastic IDE to get started; syntax highlighting and identifying issues was incredibly helpful for a beginner. There was also a range of other features in the IDE that I used on occasion; I didn't get to make full use of it as my primarily IDE but I knew it was always capable of more and that's what I loved about it. VSCode provides everything WebStorm offers and I personally find it a little faster when starting and loading a new project into the IDE. Recommendations to others considering WebStorm: WebStorm is great if you are already familiar with the Jetbrains ecosystem, otherwise, there are better/free alternatives like VsCode. If you have purchased as part of the suite, then you will likely benefit from the value it offers. For a beginner/hobbist learning/implementing any frontend tech stack, you might find you are overwheled a little with everything WebStorm offers. It allowed me to stay within the IntelliJ ecosystem where key bindings and the editor were familiar. This was incredibly useful when switching between multiple languages and editors. I mean everyone likes dark mode. Probably my favourite feature is Node.js integration. It makes it very easy to run, debug and test units for Node.js apps. The IDE itself kinda reminds me of the Android Studio IDE which I dislike because of the colors. It's probably just some getting used to but it's bugging me somehow. I used to love webstorm for its integration with javascript and html. Its code typeahead feature is quite useful. Auto alignment is useful feature and the point that it can read your jscs file and align the code for you is quite useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about WebStorm? The only thing I dislike about webstrom that it is another skill, things are not automatic for example in case you want webstrom to read your jscs, tslint etc you would have to configure them. I was hoping webstrom to read them by default. Even after reading them the default code style is different from JSCS, you could set keyboard strokes to mimic ctrl-alt-l feature but it is not same as default code style. WebStom team supports latest javascript and frameworks features. - easy to setup. If you reinstall the OS - you you can setup WebStorm very fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about WebStorm? - is crashes regularly on my Mac. And I can't submit a crash report from we WebStorm ('send' button is disabled). I enjoyed webstorm a few years ago when visual studio support for web (html/js) editing was lacking at best. It provided a nice level of intellisense support along with refactoring capabilities and simple syntax highlighting/recognition that was not available in other tools.
