## Waydev Reviews
 ### 1. WayDev: Powerful Insights!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JD R. | VP of Product Strategy and Transformation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Waydev?**

WayDev makes it simple to gain meaningful visibility into your IT organization — whether you're on the engineering team in GitHub or just interacting with Jira. What stands out most is the collaborative support: the team genuinely partners with you to tailor the tool to your workflow, making setup feel effortless. The platform itself is responsive and flexible, letting you dial in configurations quickly so you always have the insights you need to truly understand and support your teams. This is something I use daily.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

Getting your team members mapped correctly and your data views configured to expectations takes a little time upfront — but once that initial setup is dialed in, the experience is consistently smooth.

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a clearer picture of how my teams operate and where we could drive efficiency, which WayDev helped me solve. The range of integrations it offers has been key, giving me the comprehensive visibility I was looking for.

**Official Response from Alex Circei:**

> Thank you so much for the thoughtful review and for sharing your experience with Waydev. We really appreciate your kind words about the visibility the platform provides and the support from our team during setup.

We know that getting team mapping and views configured the right way can take some effort upfront, so we are especially glad to hear that once everything was dialed in, the experience became smooth and valuable for your day-to-day work.

Our goal is to help teams get a clearer understanding of how engineering operates across tools like GitHub and Jira, so it means a lot to hear that Waydev is helping you improve visibility and identify efficiency opportunities.

Thanks again for your trust and partnership.

 ### 2. Clear visibility into AI Adoption, finally tied to real outcomes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristian M. | CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Waydev?**

Waydev gave us something we were missing for a long time: a reliable, data-driven understanding of how our engineering teams actually operate. The integration with our stack (GitHub, Jira, CI/CD) was seamless, and the platform immediately started surfacing insights we couldn’t get before without manual work.

What stands out is the depth of analysis. We can track delivery speed, review cycles, and quality metrics in one place, but more importantly, we can understand why things are happening. The AI-driven insights and the ability to ask questions directly in the platform instead of building dashboards manually is a big step forward.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

There is a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, especially when trying to align internal definitions (like what “productivity” or “impact” means for us) with the platform’s metrics. That said, once configured properly, it becomes very intuitive. Some teams initially questioned the data accuracy, but that was more about understanding how metrics are calculated rather than actual issues.

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Waydev is solving our lack of visibility across teams and helping us move away from subjective evaluations. We now have a consistent way to measure engineering performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve planning accuracy.

It also helps in leadership conversations. Instead of debating opinions, we can rely on data when discussing team performance, investment allocation, or delivery risks. This has improved both execution and alignment between engineering and business stakeholders.

**Official Response from Alex Circei:**

> Cristian, really appreciate you taking the time to share this, especially the depth of feedback.

What you said about “finally understanding why things are happening” is exactly the problem we set out to solve. A lot of tools surface metrics, but very few help teams connect those signals to real outcomes or decisions. That gap is what we’re trying to close with Waydev, especially as AI becomes part of the development process.

Glad to hear the integrations and early insights were smooth right out of the gate. We’ve invested a lot there because we know time-to-value matters.

On the learning curve and metric alignment, you’re absolutely right. Defining what “productivity” or “impact” means internally is not trivial, and the platform often surfaces that misalignment early. The good part, as you mentioned, is that once those definitions are clarified, everything becomes much more intuitive and actionable. We’re continuing to improve onboarding and guidance here so teams get to that point faster.

Also appreciate you calling out the initial questions around data accuracy. In most cases, it comes down to transparency in how metrics are calculated, and we’re putting more effort into making that clearer directly in the product.

If there’s anything we can do to make this even more valuable for your team, we’re always open to feedback.

Thanks again for the trust.

 ### 3. Finally a Clear ROI Layer for AI in Engineering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandru P. | Managing Partner & Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Waydev?**

What stands out is how Waydev connects AI adoption to real business outcomes, not just activity metrics. We can see which developers and teams are actively using AI tools, but more importantly, how that translates into faster delivery, shorter review cycles, and higher throughput. The dashboards are clear and leadership-friendly, which makes it easy to communicate progress and ROI without digging through raw data.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

Some of the AI-related insights could benefit from more customization, especially when trying to tailor views for different stakeholders like engineering managers vs. executives. It’s powerful, but sometimes you want more flexibility out of the box.

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Waydev, AI adoption was mostly anecdotal. Some teams claimed big gains, others were skeptical, and we had no consistent way to measure impact. Now we have a unified view across the organization. We can track adoption trends, correlate them with performance improvements, and make informed decisions about where to invest more in AI tooling or training. It has helped us align engineering and leadership around a common, data-backed narrative.

**Official Response from Alex Circei:**

> Thank you, Alexandru, really appreciate the thoughtful feedback.

You captured exactly what we’re trying to solve. Connecting AI adoption to real business outcomes, not just activity, is at the core of how we think about engineering intelligence. It’s encouraging to see that translating into clearer ROI and better visibility for leadership.

On the customization point, you’re right. As teams mature, the need to tailor views for different stakeholders becomes critical. This is something we’re actively improving, especially with the new AI-native experience where you can generate and adapt views through natural language instead of fixed dashboards.

If you’re open to it, I’d love to connect and learn more about the specific use cases where you felt constrained. That kind of input directly shapes how we evolve the product.

Appreciate you being part of this journey.

 ### 4. AI Adoption Telemetry That Proves Real Engineering Velocity Gains

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel P. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Waydev?**

The highest value Waydev provides is moving our engineering org past vanity activity metrics. We're actively rolling out AI-assisted coding tools across the stack, and Waydev gives me hard telemetry on adoption rates mapped directly against PR cycle times, deployment frequency, and overall throughput. I don't just see who has the plugin enabled; I see the empirical delta in velocity. As a founder, the fact that I can pull these dashboards up in a board meeting to justify our SaaS spend on AI tooling—without having to build custom ETL pipelines to aggregate the data—is a massive win.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

The out-of-the-box reporting for the AI telemetry can be a bit rigid. I want more granular control over slicing the data

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a "black box" problem with AI tooling ROI. Half the engineering team swore it 10x'd their output, while others were skeptical, and our release cadence looked relatively flat. It was entirely anecdotal. Waydev gives us a standardized observability layer across our repositories. We can now scientifically correlate AI tool utilization with actual merge rates and cycle time compression. It allows me to allocate capital efficiently—we know exactly where to double down on AI licenses and where we need to invest in developer training instead. It forced alignment between engineering and leadership using a single source of truth.

**Official Response from Alex Circei:**

> Gabriel, this is a great breakdown, thank you.

You’re pointing to the exact shift we’re seeing across engineering orgs, moving from “who is using AI” to “what measurable delta AI is actually driving.” Mapping adoption directly to PR cycle time, deploy frequency, and throughput is where the real signal is, and I’m glad that’s proving useful in your board-level conversations.

On the reporting side, your feedback is spot on. Rigid, predefined slices don’t work once teams start asking second and third order questions about the data. We’re actively addressing this with the new AI-native layer, where you can slice telemetry dynamically, down to repo, team, language, or even contributor level, without needing to preconfigure dashboards.

If you’re open to it, I’d be interested to understand what specific dimensions you want more control over. That’s exactly the level where we’re investing right now.

Appreciate you taking the time to share this.

 ### 5. Optimizes Team Performance with Ease

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoran M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Waydev?**

I use Waydev to track team performance, track the delivery, and understand bottlenecks in the development process. I appreciate the transparency it brings, allowing everyone to see how they perform compared to the rest of the team while providing managers with a high-level overview of the team's performance. I really like the contributor insights feature, as it brings a lot to 1-1 discussions and helps individuals set goals to improve their performance. Additionally, I find the breakdown of the development cycle insightful, showing where the team spends most of their time.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

I think custom reports could be more flexible, and it would be nice to have the feature to compare teams with the average of the rest of the company.

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Waydev to track team performance, understand development bottlenecks, and gain transparency in the team. I like contributor insights for improving individual performance and appreciate the breakdown of the development cycle for better time management.

**Official Response from Alex Circei:**

> Thank you for the thoughtful feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It's great to hear that Waydev is helping bring transparency to your team's delivery process and supporting more meaningful 1:1 conversations through contributor insights.

Your note about custom reports and comparing teams to company-wide benchmarks is very valuable. Improving flexibility in reporting and giving leaders better context across teams is something we're actively exploring as we continue evolving the platform.

Thanks again for being part of the Waydev community and helping us make the product better.

 ### 6. Seamless Setup and Insightful Dashboards

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fadi M.

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Waydev?**

I like Waydev for providing clear visibility into our engineering organization's performance. It helps us track development activities across repositories, monitor pull request merge time, and calculate team velocity effectively. The clear quantifiable DORA matrix numbers give us great insights to cut down hidden bottlenecks. The ease of integration is a huge win, and onboarding was smooth. Once everything is set up, we get a dashboard out of the box that provides a top view of project performance, plus the ability to create custom dashboards. The dashboard also eliminates the need for manual calculations and reporting, allowing us to make actionable decisions more quickly. Adding users from the dashboard was straightforward, and we were good to go without much delay.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

At first AI summary took enormous time to load and didn't provide much information.

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Waydev to gain visibility into our engineering performance, track activities, and calculate team velocity. It provides quantifiable DORA metrics to identify bottlenecks and the dashboard enables quick, actionable decisions without manual reporting.

**Official Response from Alex Circei:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re glad to hear that Waydev is helping you gain clear visibility into engineering performance, uncover bottlenecks through DORA metrics, and reduce manual reporting through out-of-the-box and custom dashboards. It’s great to know the onboarding and integrations felt smooth and delivered value quickly.

We also appreciate the feedback around the AI summary experience. Early on, performance and depth were not where we wanted them to be, and this is an area we’ve actively improved. Loading times and insight quality have been a strong focus for us, and we continue to iterate to make AI summaries faster, more actionable, and more context-aware.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback. It helps us keep pushing the product in the right direction.

 ### 7. The only tool we found that makes sense of AI in engineering

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anelya G. | Member, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Waydev?**

The AI visibility layer. Being able to see adoption, usage patterns, and correlate that with outcomes is incredibly powerful.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

Some of the AI-related features are evolving, but the direction is very strong.

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can now justify investments in AI tooling with actual data. It helps us double down on what works and eliminate what doesn’t.

**Official Response from Alex Circei:**

> Thank you, Anelya, really appreciate the thoughtful review.

The point you highlighted around the AI visibility layer is exactly the problem we set out to solve. Adoption alone does not matter if it is not tied to outcomes, and we are seeing more teams shift their focus from “who is using AI” to “what impact is AI actually driving.”

On your feedback regarding evolving AI features, you are absolutely right, and this is an area we are actively investing in. Over the past months we have shipped several updates, including deeper AI adoption metrics, improved correlation between AI usage and delivery outcomes, and more advanced insights into how teams are leveraging agents across the SDLC. We are also expanding our DX and feedback layer to give more context behind the numbers.

If you are open to it, I would love to walk you through what is coming next. A big part of our roadmap is making AI impact not just visible, but predictable and actionable.

Overall, Waydev has been a valuable tool for driving data-informed conversations and improving visibility into our engineering processes. Recommended for teams looking to gain actionable insights into developer performance and workflow efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Waydev?**

One area that could use some improvement is the Developer Experience (DevEx) surveys — they still feel a bit raw and could benefit from more flexibility and depth. Also, the number of available metrics can feel overwhelming at first, though it becomes manageable once you focus on what really matters to your team.
I’d also love to see more flexible dashboards that allow combining tangible data with subjective insights (for example, using the SPACE framework). In case of many integration, contributors management may be a bit more time consuming than it could be.

**What problems is Waydev solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Waydev helps us turn engineering activity into clear, actionable insights. It bridges the gap between day-to-day development work and business visibility by tracking DORA metrics, PR activity, and team performance trends. This enables us to make data-driven decisions, identify bottlenecks early, and improve processes in systematic manner. It’s been especially valuable for fostering more objective, transparent discussions around productivity and team health.
