Wasabi does not charge fees for "touching" your data (API charges) or for moving your information (egress fees). These charges can quickly inflate your storage cost, and Wasabi does not have them. Wasabi has also implemented "object lock" on storage buckets, preventing changes to the data files in "locked" buckets. This is an important feature when nothing must be allowed to alter files in a Wasabi bucket. Finally, it is straightforward to set up your Wasabi account. You can use the Wasabi web browser interface or third-party applications like Cyber-Duck to access your Wasabi account. There is a 30-day free trial period with no credit card required. **What do you dislike about Wasabi Object Storage?** I can't come up with a reason not to use Wasabi storage. It is cheaper and faster than its larger storage competitors. **What problems is Wasabi Object Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am using Wasabi for cloud storage of system backup images. My backup images are essentially "air-gapped" from my local network environment when using Wasabi. ### 2. With Wasabi, we were able to bring up all of our scale-out backup repositories from Microsoft to Wasabi SOBR for a small fraction of the cost we were paying before. We send a copy of all of our Veeam backups to Wasabi, and it still costs us less than the one backup repository we still have in the MS cloud. It is a perfect place for your long-term cold storage of backups without the substantial storage fees of the other guys. **What do you dislike about Wasabi Object Storage?** I can't think of anything that I don't like about Wasabi. It works well with Veeam and does it without breaking the bank! **What problems is Wasabi Object Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?** Cost savings is the most significant item. Storage fees with Microsoft were astronomical. With the savings, we purchased a new host server and bring things back from the cloud and still have our tiered disaster plan and still save in the short and long term. ### 4. But my favorite thing is the straightforward pricing based on storage utilization without the need to consider ingress and egress charges. **What do you dislike about Wasabi Object Storage?** Not a huge con, but reliance on AWS shows a single point of failure when AWS had DNS issues which caused major outages to providers relying on Amazon infrastructure. **What problems is Wasabi Object Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?** Off-site backup replication with long term retention in order to have a proper backup and recovery strategy. Additionally, this helps with local storage expenses since the more extended term retention is left in Wasabi. ### 5. They claim to offer 1Tb bandwidth for $5.99 which looks very promising **What do you dislike about Wasabi Object Storage?** Their false promise of $5.99/TB for attracting users. Let's say you buy 50TB of storage from Wasabi. When you do so, you think that since you are paying for 50TB which is about $300, you will also get 50TB of bandwidth because that is how they advertise it and mock AWS / Google Cloud and all the other major cloud providers. Here is where the game changes. Let's say you prepay for 50TB but store only 5TB, you will get egress of only 5TB. So, technically you end up paying more than what you pay for AWS & Google Cloud. They are very smart in misguiding people. They know that most of the time your egress exceeds your storage and then they charge you for the egress at rates almost equal to AWS & GCP. Don't fall for this trap. We did fall and lost our manpower in creating an integration just to find out it's all fake. Don't waste you time with WASABI. Go for Vultr object storage of Digital Ocean Spaces. **Recommendations to others considering Wasabi Object Storage:** Do not use WASABI if you are thinking its cheap. it is not is you have more egress and buying additional storage won't help at all **What problems is Wasabi Object Storage solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted to have a great pricing on egress and though WASABI was a solution. But it's not. ### 11. Why is deleted file usage not calculated the same way as regular file storage? The best thing to use lifelong and people can practice this for small as well as for big-scale occupation. It won’t leave whenever needed for better communication. Documentation and transformation are an awesome feature of this diligence. **What do you dislike about Wasabi Object Storage?** Cloud Storage is well-known for its file saving and securing ability, but if a single file needs to be found, then it must take time, whether the internet is slow or not but this feature is a little bit messy to manage. I can understand it for the free plan but is no possible to pay for it during the trial period, you have to wait and start to pay to have this function. This make possible to have the assets there and connect to your website.
