They don't inform you beforehand that you will be charged that much. And they charge a lot. I deleted all my buckets. They still charged me because I had an account with them, so I had to pay a minimum. So not using any of their services, but still charged. How incredible is that? What do you dislike about Wasabi Object Storage? Their charing model is awful and unfair. I deleted some backups - ending up storing nothing (0 bytes!) on them - they still billed me every month. Wasabi Object Storage is a managed storage service with excellent customer support, its fast and flexible data transfer and affordable storage cost; it is 80% cheaper than Amazon S3. Its storage security features are top-notch, which is very important when we store our information in the cloud. It also allows us to activate and configure protection against ransomware. The Wasabi plan I use charges me an additional fee when I delete files within three months of uploading them. I can back up Synology to it. Data restoration works. It's so cheap! I moved my data over from Amazon AWS. I back up about 100 websites and a handful of Synology NAS. The data costs were getting to the point where they were becoming problematical. Wasabi does everything AWS S3 storage does but at a fraction (and I mean a small fraction) of the cost. The implementation of it is quite simple. I generate users, buckets and access keys, use these for websites or NAS backups. So far I can't find anything I dislike about this service. As previously stated, AWS storage was costing a lot more than this. I was exploring alternatives, such as backing up to my office NAS. That had problems. I'm making myself responsible for data. And it doesn't solve the issue of where to back up my own NAS. Wasabi solved these problems by providing a secure, cheap and easy to use cloud storage solution. Allows for easy backup storage using the S3 interface with a GUI to manage the bill and IAM based authentication. The simple user interface allows your view the bill day by day of files added and deleted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Wasabi Object Storage? The price model is great but the billing is close to AWS S3 Glacier without the retrieval time and cost to retrieve. In lieu of the retrieval time and cost to retrieve they require files be stored for 90 days and you would charge for the storage of the file during that time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Wasabi Object Storage: It's the same interface as Amazon S3 and allows for fast file storage with no retrieval. Wasabi is great at having cheap reliable storage available through an s3 compatible endpoint. It supports real access policies and even has data retention rules built in. We found that uptime and speed of accessing data were not suitable for production, we always had to run the storage behind a CDN and ended up moving our primary storage to the CDN itself keeping wasabi as a backup.
