Vyond has a wide range of characters, scenes and props to work with, and it's easy to upload extra image, video and sounds for use as well. The cusomisation options are great, including the ability to match brand colours, upload brand fonts, and even add branded elements to character clothing. You can add custom voiceovers or use AI voice, and the level of the ultra-high quality voices surprised me. The AI features also make it easier to use, including the ability to generate photorealistic AI avatars. The combination of these makes a cost-effective alternative to organisations hiring video/voice actors, and also makes updating content simpler (it's easier to recreate an AI avatar or voiceover when the Code of Conduct gets updated next year than it is to try and track down the original voice actor and get them to re-record) .The recent change to allow all users AI credits is a great improvement, adding flexibility for all users to take advantage of those features. There's no need for animation experience - if you've done any kind of basic video editing then the interface will be pretty familiar, and even if not I can't imagine it would take you very long to get to grips with it. I purchased my Vyond agency licence and within a few days had produced an animated explainer video for a paying client that they were very happy with - it's that easy to hit the ground with! **What do you dislike about Vyond?** Whilst you can choose from a range of three animated styles (Classic, Contemporary and Whiteboard) it would be great to see extra styles added, and even with the huge range of assets more characters, props and scenes would always be welcome! However, the ability to upload your own elements, create your own characters (including uploading photos to generate characters) and even add custom character animations via video capture help with this - and with more AI features in Beta to produce custom props in a given style, this is improving all the time. **What problems is Vyond solving and how is that benefiting you?** I primarily use Vyond to create engaging learning materials and explainer videos for my clients. It takes a fraction of the time that creating a from-scratch animation in Adobe Creative Cloud, and the ability to choose a common look and feel in the characters, props and scenes provides a very professional consistency to the videos, whilst the range of said elements and customisation options offers lots of flexibility. There are also frequent webinars offered by Vyond to provide ideas, best practices and to demonstrate new features, so great for continuing to build your skills with the tool. Whilst it is not the cheapest solution for producing animated videos, I have used a cheap solution in the past and you most certainly get what you pay for - I'd certainly say Vyond is very good value. I recouped the cost of my annual subscription in the very first engagement I used it on. ### 14. It's a fairy straightforward and easy to use. You can get up and running pretty quickly. It has a lot of features too. I really appreciate that the customer service team is responsive, reachable and genuinely listens. They take feedback into account and they are approachable. The product is always improving too. You can easily use Vyond for a quick filler video, or get really in depth and use custom colors, branding, etc. Good tool in the arsenal. Really easy to insert the video into e-learnings. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** They need a better way to sort, categorize or otherwise organize and describe voices. It's impossible to listen to them all, why not have description tags like "deep" or "high pitched". They also need to be able to use phonetic spelling better. And more consistently across voices! I use one voice, spend hours getting the phonetics right and then use a second voice and I have to start from scratch!!! I haven't integrated but seems like you can export and upload to other software with ease as an MP4. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** Pheonetic library is needed, with the ability for the cpations to remain without needing updating. We can always use more female AI voices - there are a couple, and several decent males. Sometimes there is a lag in the web based paltform where you sit a wait. I also want to see functionality added where logo's can work on hardhats (they don't for us), more construction or hvac specific scenes but you can make your own scenes and save them. I wish it had the ability to select multiple tracks and make longer or shorter when doing so, and/or a play to the end so you don't need to individually drag them - it would be a huge time saver for me. I also like the contemporary characters more than the business friendly - my guess is the contemporary are newer. I've found at times they have less features that then the buisiness which to us seems cartoonish. The AI text to video is good but not good enough for us to use - yet. You can't add link to my knowledge - if you want them to go to a webpage or link to a file, you'd need to add it after somehow. I use this program all the time in my current role as an instructional designer and it's simple to complete video projects. One example is that grouping can't be done on objects that are cropped and that can make things complicated for some animations. **What problems is Vyond solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vyond is a tool that allows us to create videos with characters. WIthout this program, I don't know how we'd create the instructional videos we need for our e-learning courses as we're remote workers and filming in-person (or paying someone to film themselves) would be too expensive. When I reached out to the team they were able to immediately address my questions, acccess the project I was working on and make recommendations. I've also found that the Vyond is easy to integrate into the programs I use to build trainings. For example, adding a video to Articulate is really easy. Editing is easy, for someone who had never used the program before I was able to play around with the program and easily create a video. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** There are a few things, the ability to edit the action moves of a character is a big one. While there are a variety of action moves, if I need to make changes to those moves there isn't a way to make those changes that I was able to find. The inability to change a lot of the voices (tempo, tone, etc.). While I have the enterprise level access which provides the ability to make changes, a lot of the voices I would like to use (due to the more realistic sound) does not allow for editing. **What problems is Vyond solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggets things it solves for is the text to voice, I'm extremely exctied for the upcoming changes (the ability to download just audio files). Its almost impossible to time a scene to coordinate alongside an action animation. If I am using an animation of someone raising their hands and I want an object to appear when its done, I cannot "freeze frame" view a specific moment on the timeline to know when to action completes, I have to watch it carefully and adjust. Love that we can customize characters for stories. Love that the editing is very easy to learn and yet allows us to edit the smallest things. The new AI capabilities are a good way to get started on a new video; however, I still start from scratch for most of my videos for training. I like that I can add background music and turn down the volume settings for when a charactor (or narrator) is talking. The AI voices (text to voice) are continuing to get better and better. Some of the AI voices are awesome and sound like real people. Some of them don't. I also love the "add camera" features that keep the motion going. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** A bit pricy if you don't use it a lot. Make sure you're going to use it a lot before buying. We use this very often to add interesting stories and explainer videos to go into our eLearning. If you don't have the Enterprise version, which we do not, it doesn't give you WellSaidLabs with your subscription. We looked into getting that feature, but found out if you get it, it still doesn't give you all the editing capabilities for the AI voices that WellSaidLabs has as a standalone product. So, we decided not to get the Enterprise version because of that. **Recommendations to others considering Vyond:** Vyond does offer a free trial for you to try it before you buy it. It is a great tool if you want to spice up your eLearning with more interesting animated videos. You should be able to think creatively in order to use this tool to its fullest capacity. Vyond is the tool that you can use to take your eLearning to the next level. It's tops in the learning and development industry. **What problems is Vyond solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Vyond to make scenrio videos to explain concepts, explainer videos, scenario videos, and soft skills training for Amazon. I typically add these to my Articulate Rise courses, but sometimes I use these as standalone videos. So much cheaper and you can do more than if you used professional video to tell the same story. I've used Vyond for animated videos for new hire training, process training, explainer videos, and upskilling training. It is easy to make interesting videos with Vyond that will keep the learners' interest. ### 41. I use it for various types of content - to create a brief explanatory video that I post in a leadership group to introduce a skill focus, to walk through scnearios that are embedded in training courses that range from health and safety, ethics, and how to conduct field investigations. The illustrations are polished a professional and are helpful to discuss serious matters where you do not want to record real people (ie. talking about an incident). We frequently use the character creator to create an employee's likeness - our finance group explaining how we make money in a monthly series - it is close enough so that people can make the connection, but far enough that if someone were to leave, there are no major issues with the character remaning. I am an adjunct professor at a local university and Vyond is one of the tools we cover as an authoring tool option - it is always a big hit! **What do you dislike about Vyond?** I would love to be able to change the color of clothing items and have the ability to add logo badges/patches on clothing. Stock footage or canned boilerplate just won't do it. Vyond finds the sweet spot of ease and efficiency of use with the ability to change and customize any aspect of the video that I need. I've made my last 20 or so videos completely inside of Vyond's platform, and I expect I'll keep using this for a long time. The one great feature I'm using more and more is the ever-expanding template library. This offers artifacts, thematic groups, and other unique items that are easy to integrate into other projects either as a whole or in pieces. The fact that they keep adding new templates in a range of different styles means its easier to be more creative as well instead of falling back on the same comfortable features. Overall, I'm thrilled to have found Vyond, and it's become my go to tool for most video creation. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** Vyond does have a small learning curve, but it's nothing compared to Adobe After Effects or other animation software I've used. Also, the new AI item creation options are more of a promise of things to come than something really reliable yet. Of all the times I've tried to make something, I think I only ended up using the AI generated artifact once. Because the out of the box characters, backgrounds, sounds, music, and even ai-scripting are robust, you learn as go. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** Vyond's timeline, transitions, and other video editing features are extremely limited and there is no way to expand some of these features by adding plug-ins.
