They are constantly adding features, creating more efficient ways to use the program and providing learning opportunities to use more of the features, stir up your creative juices or just find a better way of doing something. Add in that the AI voices sound more natural than so many of the other options out there, and you have a great tool for fast, easy and professional looking videos, no matter your needs. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** With any software, there will always be the little things that drive you nutty; Vyond is not immune to this. Ultimately, Vyond is way easier to use and has better features than other platforms we tried. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** I think the character library could use some upgrades. Currently, the styles are quite limited; it would be fantastic to have a larger selection of modern, high-quality cartoon characters. Additionally, having more layout and scene options would be beneficial, particularly for compliance, technical, and soft skills training. This would provide us with much more variety and flexibility when creating content. The AI animation feature can feel a bit repetitive. Characters keep doing the same moves or gestures too often. The drag-and-drop interface and timeline editor are intuitive enough that I can storyboard a short training video without needing a production background, and I appreciate how quickly you can turn around content that would otherwise take weeks with a traditional production crew. Being able to upload your own assets is a real plus, and getting started with the tool was fairly straightforward without needing formal training. The template library and knowledge base cover the basics well, though more advanced workflows like custom asset management could use better documentation. That said, I do think there are meaningful limitations. The character and scene libraries feel restricted, and it can be challenging to recreate certain workplace scenarios with the diversity of poses, expressions, and environments that L&D work really demands. One of my bigger frustrations is the lack of integrations with other video tools or content platforms. There's no easy way to import larger video clips, which means Vyond can't truly serve as a standalone video editor for an organization. I'd love to see direct export options to LMS platforms or the ability to pull in footage from other sources so it fits more naturally into a full production workflow. The character and scene libraries still feel too limited for the kind of work I do in learning and development. When I'm trying to recreate realistic workplace scenarios, I often run into walls with the available poses, expressions, and environments, and it ends up taking more time to work around those gaps than it should. The customization options for characters have improved over the years, but they still don't offer the level of detail needed to make scenes feel truly authentic or representative of diverse workplaces. Vyond lets me skip all of that and build those scenes myself in a fraction of the time, which means I can be more responsive when the business needs something turned around quickly. It also helps me tackle sensitive or complex training topics in a way that feels approachable. Things like de-escalation techniques, patient interactions, or compliance scenarios are hard to demonstrate through text alone, but animating them makes the content more engaging and easier for learners to connect with. Like I can have someone standing and giving a thumbs up, but that's not available for a sitting person. The zoom function winds up not being terribly useful because of how pixelated the scene gets if you're zoomed all the way in. **What problems is Vyond solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps animate scenarios so that we don't have to try to take video. The character creator also allows us to make versions of our team to still have us "in" the videos. The initial setup had no problems, which is great. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** I really don't like the publishing process. I would like to be able to click 'publish' and have it go directly to my downloads folder. But I have to wait for an email telling me it is ready for review and then I have to ask it to publish again for it to make it to my downloads folder. That extra step is a pain in the butt. I also don't like that each new publish opens a new tab in my browser. One thing that would make it easier to use is a search feature for character apparel so I don't have to go through every single clothing item before I find the one item I am looking for. All of these are easy to incorporate with other tools we use such as Rise and Storyline, and import into our LMS. The Vyond UI is fairly intuitive and easy to learn. I've been able to find tutorials and support materials to help me create everything I've done in Vyond. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** The main issues I've had with Vyond thus far are that the timing of objects is a little clunky. I wish things text used on slides would be on the timeline with the audio for easier adjustment. Animations are quite useful for providing context at a human level within many types of training videos. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** Two major issues are with the recent AI Avatar characters: 1) Unlike the regular Vyond animated characters, you can't edit and 'regenerate' the character's TTS for these new AV avatar characters. Instead you must re-shoot them over again which makes no sense and is very time consuming. It's extra challenging because it's not so easy to identify which clip is which within the Vyond Library for your video, especially if you are pulling in graphics and other TTS backed content plus getting them back into the main timeline. 2) Another issue is with the TTS, it is now having issues with consistency of its pronouciations. For example the word 'refiner', it will pronounce it correctly in a sentence and then a sentence or two later will pronouce it differenty. Whereas in the past I might phoentically spell the word but it would be consistent in how it would pronounce it in all places. Something has changed with the TTS (maybe the vendors), yes they sound more human like with most pronunciatins, however having inconsistencies has introduced a new type of problem that I can't easily get around. **What problems is Vyond solving and how is that benefiting you?** Vyond animations allow us to create animated narrations of content that provide context to our training videos. ### 20. Great for short animations **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Mark H. | Senior Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2021 **What do you like best about Vyond?** There's a lot of templates and pre-made characters, scenes, props and actions that make putting a video together much easier than having to start entirely from scratch. **What do you dislike about Vyond?** The nature of animated video means you spend most of your time doing voiceover acting; it would be nice to be able to create different types of videos (4k aeriel footage etc) where you can provide voiceover context, rather than speaking for a specific character. **What problems is Vyond solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've used Vyond to create awareness videos for Mentoring in an attempt to drive adoption of the Mentoring scheme within my organisation. The videos are different and engaging and have successfully captured the attention of my target audience. ### 49.
