What do you like best about Vuforia Engine?

With Vuforia it is easy to create AR experiences for both marker and markerless AR. When only using the Ground Plane feature (ability to recognize ground in order to place 3d models on it) Vuforia is completely free which is great for Indie developers or personal users that want to experiment with AR. What do you dislike about Vuforia Engine?

What problems is Vuforia Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Vuforia I was able to create a mobile app which lets the user place different 3D models onto the ground. This was fairly easy to implement since Vuforia provides a great documentation and a Unity SDK which is kept up-to-date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Vuforia Engine?

The vuforia intergration with Unity is very easy to figure out and use. I mostly use it build mobile apps for fun. All of my projects are personal projects. The sole purpose of my projects is to introduce Augment Reality to the people around me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Use of vuforia for Image target detection and Virtual buttons"

What do you like best about Vuforia Engine?

Consumed service to detect the image target and project information on top of it. Use of virtual button to interact with the plane as an image obstruction to give the feel of immersive experience in an AR Business card. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vuforia Engine?

Target detection is not that precise. as you get with ARCore on ARKit as well as anchors need to be fixed manually, which loose track even in if the lighting condition is good.

The way of importing the database to the project could be changed in the way to help the user to ease this work, maybe like how AWS has pem files.

I would like to see Vuforia sdk in a from of api with direct access to the services if possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Vuforia is best for people starting with AR it's handy to use and on platforms like unity easily integrates with AR Core, which is more than enough to carry out small-medium level projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Vuforia Engine solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am trying to create a business card application which prompts the user to insert their details on a web page and select a Layout for their business card, with an image an avatar and option animations and videos. which then are transferred to Unity application which allocates them with a space in the 3d plane gets the design and plot and bundle up as their key-value pairs which the application scans the business card project all the data stored on AWS ec2 instance about the user with their all details.

I found using animations and implementation of 3D text and images handy and one-off with vuforia where i say video quality can be improved and the mono audio plugin should automatically detect the audio.

I am taking the same idea further to build an app that scans QR code and give the information about the product and project 3D model of the product in real environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Vuforia Engine?

It has clear documentation. Easy managment service. Supports several types of ar targets. It easy to add to Unity projects with built-in plugin.

Price policy is not evident some times.

Privacy policy is not very clear. I tried to understand limitation of developer license for long time and had to consult with other developers and resources

It is unable to edit existed cyclindrical targets.

I created AR watch applications. I tried to use cylindrical target to use as a virtual hand but it was not very accurate as hand is not ideal cylinder. With small target it has some jittering in my case

"General experiences with Vuforia"

What do you like best about Vuforia Engine?

I use Unity to develop my AR apps, Vuforia is extremely easy and fast to work with, generating target and importing it in Unity can be done in a couple of minutes and the rest is how good you are in Unity.

overriding the target events is really easy, basically, it is one of the best frameworks to start AR with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Vuforia Engine?

the basic plan of Vuforia does not have a lot of features compared to pro version, but not it will leave a WaterMark on the camera in basic plan, this watermark could have not been there and the difference that would make people to pay for pro version could have been the amazing new features, not to eliminate the watermark. What do you like best about Vuforia Engine?

As Vuforia uses computer vision for image tracking. Creating and tracking of objects is faster and efficient. We also like that Vuforia is platform independent due to the API it provides to the Unity engine Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As Vuforia is marked based, most of the computations required are less so is the time complexity. Vuforia is very handy to integrate with all kinds of operating systems without any missing dependencies. If you are new to developing AR; Vuforia in Unity should be your choice. Vuforia lacks behind when working on complex task. Placing a 3D object with ease on any surface in any illumination conditions increases complexity which cannot be handled by Vuforia.
