We are able to take the results of these tests, present them to a client and in turn build a long term relationship with them. This also is added benefit for our current clients as it gives us furhter insight into their networks and where we can improve in terms of keeping them secure. vPenTest is also easy to setup and implement using either a VM or external machine running linux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about vPenTest? One thing we wish vPenTest could do is go out, scan a client's network, and identify all VLANS and subnets automatically. This is crucial for new clients that we are not familiar with. That way a company can hire us, we simply plug in the vPenTest agent and go without the need to contact the client, obtain information on their subnets, and then do the assessments. This is finding and solving common security holes and giving us an idea of items that present a vulnerabilty on a client network in which we may have not normally identified. It requires minimal setup and configuration, and finds some things that are easy to overlook, like a forgotten out-of-date machine that's not managed or on the domain, or basic network service policies. Some of the most important findings like a password of "Spring2020" are buried in the narrative instead of presented with the vulnerabilities. The scanner doesn't seem particularly advanced or in-depth. If your organization keeps a good inventory and reliably implements best practices, it's unlikely to do much for you. It's about Network penetration, real time pentest, and the recommendations on how to mitigate vulnerabilities, having a good reports, and if you have the Vulscan by rapid fire tools it can be integrated and can be used as VAPT. Friendly GUI, the implementation of pentest is easy, the customer support also helps us to navigate the tool more whenever we encounter a problem while using it. Within minutes you can deploy the Agent and create multiple tests. The reports are very detailed, there are even different ones for C-Levels, Techs, ... This was quite the experience, been managing a few networks over the years and always believed I was doing a great job and was secure. I then tested vPenTest and let it run and do its thing. the results amazed me. I found a few gaps and was able to with the guidence of vPenTest close them off within 48 hours of starting the test. From an MSP point of view, this allows me to approach new clients and point out the gaps in their security without investing many man hours into the audit and the client declines our work and we lost all the hours. this makes it a one-man job and only takes a few hours.
