## vPenTest Reviews
  ### 1. vPenTest delivers on their promises

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark S. | IT Assistant Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

I have used vPenTest at a previous place of employment. Having been successfully implemented and found to have met our compliance requirements it was recommended at my current place of employment. Side-by-side comparisons were done objectively against top competitors and despite one of the competitors having a good relationship with one of our top management officials, the results were undeniable. Onboarding was done in one session. The dashboard is self-explanatory and there was no need for further customer support. Even though I used the product before in a different environment, there was initially a slight hesitancy/fear to run the penetration test with fears that it may be disruptive or break the functionality of our systems. We have a highly complex network. The penetration tests have been run for two consecutive months thus far without issues. The product's findings were easily integrated with the output of VulScan vulnerability scanning platform. The extent of the findings and the resolutions steps have been highly comprehensive. The reports generated have met the stringent requirements of our compliance body. I have no issues in recommending this platform.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

As the software is not agent based i.e. not installed on each system to be scanned, scans are dependent on being able to be reached from on-premises server or via VPN. As our workforce is hybrid/WFH (Work from Home), using VPNs at home and allowing dynamic IPs were not feasible. Scans can only be done while system is brought into one of our branches which are connected site to site VPN.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is meeting our compliance requirements. It is able to identify issues not easily visible by the naked eye, especially given the wide range of servers and systems on our network. Manual inspection and monitoring would have been a tedious and time consuming process.

  ### 2. MSP-Ready Automated Pentesting with Clear Reporting and Easy Deployment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik J. | Partner / Technisch Directeur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Automated pentesting with continuous scanning that’s MSP-ready and supports compliance needs. Reporting is clear, deployment is easy, and the platform scales well as requirements grow. Recurring testing delivers consistent results, helps identify vulnerabilities efficiently, and remains cost-effective overall.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

The testing feels limited in depth and is mostly automated, which leads to false positives. There’s no real manual testing, and the overall scope feels constrained. It also lacks customization options, the analytics are fairly basic, and exploit validation is limited. Overall, it feels less advanced than an expert-led pentest.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helps with vulnerability detection and continuous security testing, while also supporting compliance readiness. It improves risk visibility through scalable assessments, reduces manual effort, and encourages a more proactive security posture. I also appreciate the standardized testing approach, which can contribute to improved audit outcomes.

  ### 3. Accessible, Repeatable Pentesting—Still Needs Manual Review for Real-World Risk

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justice R. | IT Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

I like that vPentest makes penetration testing feel much more accessible and repeatable without needing a full manual engagement every time. It gives clear findings and helps point you toward what actually needs fixing.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

One thing I dislike is that some results still need manual review to understand the real-world risk and priority. It is useful, but it is not a complete replacement for a skilled tester.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vPentest helps solve the problem of finding security gaps before attackers do. The benefit is that it gives us a clearer picture of exposure, helps prioritize remediation, and makes it easier to show progress over time.

  ### 4. Smooth Onboarding and Easy, Efficient Security Testing with vPenTest

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Furniture | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Our experience with vPenTest is still in the early stages since we’ve only recently completed onboarding, but the implementation process was straightforward and well supported throughout. So far, the platform seems easy to use and offers an efficient way to run regular security testing without the complexity that often comes with traditional penetration testing engagements. The onboarding team was responsive and helpful, which made it simple to get started and clearly understand the value of the solution.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Since we’re still early in our adoption of vPenTest, it’s hard to point to any meaningful drawbacks at this stage. So far, most of our experience has been focused on onboarding and the initial setup, and that process has been positive. As we spend more time using the platform, we’ll develop a clearer view of its full capabilities and whether there are any areas where additional features or improved reporting would be helpful.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vPenTest helps us automate and simplify security testing, making it easier to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. Although we have recently completed onboarding and are still in the early stages of using the platform, we see it as a valuable tool for maintaining a proactive security program and reducing the effort required to perform regular security assessments.

  ### 5. vPenTest Makes Continuous Security Validation Easy to Understand and Act On

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

What I find most helpful about vPenTest is how it transforms penetration testing from a slow, manual, specialist-heavy effort into a continuous security validation platform that’s easy for the business to understand and act on.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

The least helpful aspects of vPenTest tend to show up at the edges of what automation can realistically cover. It’s very strong for scalable validation and attacker simulation, but it’s weaker in areas that depend on deep human intuition, creativity, or business-specific context.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vPenTest helps organizations continuously validate their real-world attack exposure and focus on the vulnerabilities that truly matter, prioritizing them based on exploitability and business impact.

  ### 6. Comprehensive Security Tool with Quick Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent D. | IT Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

I appreciate vPenTest for its detailed and automated diagnostic capabilities, which thoroughly assess my network for vulnerabilities, enhancing overall security compliance and facilitating smoother insurance audits. The report generation feature stands out, providing comprehensive insights post-scan that greatly aid in effective decision-making and timely security discussions with clients. The interface is commendably clean and user-friendly, allowing me to focus more on applying necessary patches rather than navigating through configurations. Its initial setup is remarkably straightforward and swift, enabling my team to generate our first reports within a week. Additionally, the quick turnaround by the support team further emphasizes its efficiency, making it a reliable tool in our cybersecurity arsenal.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

I find the deployment process for vPenTest cumbersome, especially for multi-site clients with multiple Local Area Networks (LANs). This complexity can be a significant hurdle, as it involves managing numerous networks across various locations. Although it’s recognized as part of the product's nature and the environment in which it operates, this aspect could benefit from improvement. Specifically, having a method to swiftly deploy virtual machines (VMs) to each site could alleviate the challenges associated with setting up dedicated servers on hosts, streamlining the deployment process and minimizing the workload.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use vPenTest for security compliance and insurance audits, benefiting from its automated diagnostic tool that scans networks for vulnerabilities. Its clean interface saves time on configurations, and quick report generation aids timely client security discussions.

  ### 7. Effortless Setup, Client-Friendly Reports

**Reviewed by:** Nick F. | Customer Success Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

I appreciate vPenTest for its ease of setup, which significantly simplifies the deployment process for different clients. This allows for a seamless onboarding experience and reduces time spent on technical configurations. The clean and well-organized reports are another standout feature, providing a clear summary for clients while also offering detailed technical insights when needed. This dual reporting structure is invaluable for communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Overall, these features make vPenTest a reliable and efficient tool for prospecting new clients and providing a solid security baseline for current clients.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

I find the terminology used in vPenTest sometimes confusing, especially for clients who are not well-versed in technical language. Additionally, some of the findings need to be clarified by myself, which adds an extra layer of explanation that could be streamlined.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use vPenTest for prospecting new clients and enhancing security for current ones with easy setup and detailed reports, simplifying the pen test process.

  ### 8. Efficient Automated Pen Testing with Clear Guidance, Though Less Depth Than Human Testers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

What I like best about vPenTest is its ability to automate external and internal penetration testing, providing actionable security findings without requiring deep in-house cybersecurity expertise. It delivers clear, prioritized remediation guidance and continuous testing, making vulnerability management more efficient and cost-effective.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

One drawback of vPenTest is that, as an automated penetration testing platform, it may not uncover the same depth of complex business logic vulnerabilities or creative attack paths that an experienced human penetration tester can identify.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vPenTest helps us identify and prioritize security vulnerabilities before they can be exploited, reducing cybersecurity risk while saving time and resources through automated testing and clear remediation guidance.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This solution helps us identify potential security weaknesses in a structured, cost-effective way. It supports ongoing risk reduction and enables better long-term security planning.

  ### 10. Effortless Customer Management with Clear Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linus A.

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2025

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

I find vPenTest invaluable for securing network infrastructure for our customers. It significantly eases the task of maintaining an overview of security issues that need addressing. I use vPenTest to secure network infrastructure, easily manage multiple customers, and get clear reports, streamlining security issue oversight.

  ### 11. Affordable, Efficient Pen Testing with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Halion A. | Director Of Client Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

I really appreciate the ease of setup and deployment with vPenTest. It's fantastic that I can initiate a test within just a few hours after a client request, which is a significant improvement over the traditional penetration testing methods that could take days or even weeks. This quick setup is especially helpful when clients need solutions quickly and efficiently. Additionally, the quality of the whitelabeled final report is outstanding. It goes beyond merely listing findings; it provides a comprehensive workflow process that explains to clients exactly what was done during the testing. This not only enhances clarity for the clients but also adds a level of professionalism to the services that we offer.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

I find that vPenTest often struggles with identifying hostnames of IPs. This issue persists despite the fact that the necessary data should be accessible through a simple IP scan, leading me to believe there might be something malfunctioning or missing in the scanner's operation.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use vPenTest to offer affordable penetration testing to clients, providing quick setup and deployment and comprehensive reports that explain workflows, unlike traditional expensive and time-consuming tests.

  ### 12. Comprehensive Reports with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Network S. | Senior Network Engineer, Information Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2025

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

I love the awesome report feature in vPenTest. It is very complete and detailed, which helps me immensely in summarizing the main causes of security issues and pointing out the security weaknesses for each type. It also aids in evaluating the overall security system effectively. Additionally, the initial setup was easy for my team, making it simple to integrate and start using the software without hassle.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

I am not satisfied with vPenTest's inability to expose firmware vulnerabilities of network devices. This is a critical aspect of assessing network security, and the software does not highlight firmware vulnerabilities such as outdated firmware or provide recommendations for upgrading to newer firmware.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use vPenTest to check network security, find cybersecurity issues, and get comprehensive reports that highlight security weaknesses and evaluate the system.

  ### 13. vPenTest review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve V. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

What I like best about vPenTest is that it gives us continuous, on-demand penetration testing at a cost that makes sense for a mid-sized manufacturer. The dashboards make it easy to communicate risks to leadership, while the technical detail is thorough and actionable for my IT team. Unlike a traditional pen test that’s just once a year, I can re-run vPenTest after changes to our environment, and it validates real exploits instead of only flagging vulnerabilities. It’s reliable, easy to use, and provides both executive-level insights and technical remediation guidance.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

What I dislike about vPenTest is that while the reporting is thorough, some of the findings can feel repetitive between scans if issues aren’t closed quickly, which makes it a little noisy. Also, while it’s excellent for automated penetration testing, it doesn’t completely replace a traditional human-led pen test in areas like social engineering or very advanced attack simulation. That said, it still gives us a strong level of coverage and value.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What problems vPenTest is solving for us are the cost and timing challenges of traditional penetration testing. A once-a-year manual test was expensive and left us blind in between. vPenTest lets us run penetration tests on demand and continuously monitor our environment, which means we can quickly validate changes, spot issues early, and show progress over time.

It also solves the problem of translating technical security findings into something business leadership can understand. The executive dashboards give me an easy way to communicate risk and progress to management, while the detailed technical remediation steps help my IT team resolve issues faster.

The benefit is that we now have consistent, repeatable penetration testing that fits our budget, strengthens our security posture, and supports our compliance and audit requirements without relying solely on external consultants.

  ### 14. User-Friendly Tool with Effective Vulnerability Detection

I found vPenTest easy to use even as someone new to the field. It helped me shore up our defenses effectively. The whole experience with vPenTest was smooth. Setting it up was pretty straightforward; I just had to fire it up myself since my coworkers had used it before.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

I know this is niche, but finding help videos for my specific attempts were hard to find, but again, I understand I was looking for more walkthrough style things.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use vPenTest to find vulnerabilities in our environment. It's easy to use, even for someone new to the field, helping us shore up our defenses.

Automated, just requires a few steps and then it will do the rest for you

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Sometimes I feel it doesn't cover everything that a real pentest would do.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal and External penetration testing. Typically we would have to do this with an external company but with VPEN we can just do it internally

  ### 19. Solid Pen Testing Platform with Great Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Consider it as a tool to augment regular Vulnerability assessment test. You can do more periodic test (weekly/monthly/quarterly) and get in-depth result to confirm if there is a major vulnerabilities need to be fixed. It is not a replacement for regular pentest (the one that is done by skilled tester), but surely it would help your security posture.

Integration is pretty easy - no complicated setup.

Vendor is very responsive - customer support is good.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

It is not total replacement for competent, human drive penetration test services. This product is created based on penetration testing, but will not be as creative as highly skilled pentester yet.

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

vPenTest by Vonahi has been a great asset to my organization. It was so easy to get off the ground, easy to use and automate, and the knowledge it brings to me and my team helps ensure we're secure.

We use it at a regular interval via scheduled assessments or spin up a one-off when we make a big change to our infrastructure. Being able to scan internal networks and from the outside really gives us a great insight that we can leverage for greater securty.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

I'm not the biggest fan of how they do their licensing, per IP. This is mostly an issue when you're first getting started and want to scan everything! But, as time goes on and you develop your own schedule, it's not that impactful.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to use external third parties for PenTesting once a year. The cost of one external PenTest for one location is a big portion of what we pay for Vonahi that gives us way more options and allows us to run many, many more tests. vPenTest has alleviated the costs associated with traditional third party PenTesting with no loss in functionality, information, or outcome.

  ### 28. I have had a mostly positive experience with this product.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Detailed reports of each test provide a great resource in determining what actions to take in mitigating vulnerabilities. The product is easy to use and easy to setup.
I enjoy the variety of reports that provide variable views of the issues presented.
The product was easy to setup and easy to use. There is little headache over scheduling assessments and selecting the options.
The dashboard provides a nice overview of the PenTest trends and easy access to the most recent reports.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

The delay of results for assessments seems unnecessary for short term/less important Tests. I wish I could still review a simple report the day the test concludes, even if the report may be inaccurate.

I have had issues with scheduled assessments failing to run on the scheduled date. I would then have to reschedule for the same day in order to make the scan run as intended.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This product helps give us a look our weak points in our security while also providing mitigation/remediation steps for vulnerabilities.

  ### 29. Vonahi vPenTest - Best bang for buck

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

My 3 favorite features of Vonahi are the detailed deliverables that can be further investigated, very specific control over scanned IPs, and the ability to schedule scans so far into the future. (A bonus would be the price compared to conventional pentesting)

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

My gripes about the product are as follows. I wish there was more human interaction to confirm findings or describe them. It would be nice to have a dedicated account manager to ask directly. I wish it had a personalized AI LLM that could help diagnose for future tests.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being the sole IT employee makes it diffcult to keep up with security vulnerabilites, vPenTest helps with scheduled tests to find areas I can easily miss from day to day. Having the ability for automated tests while I work on other areas is a great addition to our IT dept. This greatly reduces the threats that go unoticed.

  ### 30. As an MSP, vPentest is a great value add for our customers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David J. | CCO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

it gives true insight in the security aspect of customer's infrastructure and offers us as an MSP the possibility to better support customers and extend our product portfolio.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Untill now there are no downsides for us.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Untill now we needed to hire external company for every PENtest, now we are able to do (pre)tests on our own.

  ### 31. Maximizing IT Security Through Automated Solutions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roann Z. | Technical Solutions Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Users can tailor their pentests to focus on specific areas, devices, or systems, making it flexible for different environments.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

vPenTest excels in automated, recurring, and network-focused penetration testing, organizations needing more specialized, or advanced capabilities may need to supplement it with other tools or services like Web-App Application Security Testing, In-Depth Mobile App Testing etc. to cover the full spectrum of cybersecurity testing.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vPenTest enables organizations to schedule tests as frequently as needed, ensuring continuous monitoring of network vulnerabilities. The platform provides real-time alerts and reports on vulnerabilities, allowing security teams to respond faster to threats before they are exploited by attackers.

  ### 32. Easy to use PenTest Plattform for MSP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manuel H. | Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Easy to use plattform to create PenTests and get deep security insights into customer (or internal) network, server and client infrastructure.
Within minutes you can deploy the Agent and create multiple tests.
The reports are very detailed, there are even different ones for C-Levels, Techs, ...
In case you need, the Vonahi Customer Support is always availble (for support issues, integration and implemtation).

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Since we are providing everything in the German-Speaking area, a translation option would be great.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Performing PenTests for new and existing customers to get a deep technical insight in the security of the infrastructure.

  ### 33. Easy to use and deploy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Easy deployment on ubuntu agent
Easy setup of scan
Scan detects a wide variety of vulnerabilities

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Scan seemed to run a bit slower than other products
Internal and External scan can't be run in one scan
Doesn't seem to be a way to schedule regular tests

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a deep overview of network vulnerabilities and risks in the environment and how vital it is to remediate them.

  ### 34. Automation of Pentests with useful Insights

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Bascially the easy of use and configuration. It takes only a couple of minutes to set up.
Scans can be done internally as well as externally providing useful information on vulnerabilities and weaknesses.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Some of the reports are quite large. Which is not necessarily a bad thing but as an MSP we have to go through it and to make it easier for our endcustomers to understand. So more options where the main findings are presented would be good.
Another thing is the language, which is currently only possible in english.
German would be great for us as an austrian company

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It basically helps us to gain a useful insight into the infrastrucutre of customers within minutes or hours. A conventional pentest would take much longer and it is great to get rid of low hangig fruits.
SO we used it for a risk based approach making it affordable for our customers.

  ### 35. VpenTest is up and running

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

vPenTest can be configured to test the areas of our network we are ready to test as well as allowing us to schedule test when we are ready. The implementation process was quick and easy. We are going to be using this tool on a monthly basis.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Hard to determine what exactly caused a failer or make sure it's running because it runs in the background.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure our network is secure.

  ### 36. Automated pentesting with Vonohi vPenTest

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

The best things about vPenTest are the simplicity of setup, the ability to get a test running quickly, and being able to schedule recurring tests.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

The most serious drawback I can find so far is that it is automated pentesting, which is still very new... I'm not sure how readily compliance organizations and cybersecurity insurance companies are going to be to accept these automated results in leiu of traditional hands-on pentest results.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing pentest results at a much lower price point than we could ever get with traditional pentesting.

  ### 37. A good scanning software that requires a bit of configuration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** matthew m. | Information Technology Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2023

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

The reports are easy to read and it is easy to test.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Nothing really stands out as a dislike but rather just maybe a UI overhaul to make it a bit more intuitive.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to provide these to our clients on a yearly basis and it is easy to run multiple times for the sites you create.

  ### 38. Easy to Use PenTesting for MSPs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruce R. | Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Since vPenTest is automated it is easy to implement and use. Support has been great. Also, it has good margins due to its reasonable cost structure.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

For internal pentests, you need to setup a VM or setup a device to connect to the internal network. For the VM, intermediate to advanced knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V is needed to setup the Ubuntu server. Its easy once you do it a few times but could be a challenge for less experienced users.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to vPenTest we would have to outsource all aspects of Penetration testing. We can now perform these services in-house and charge a decent markup on the price we pay for the software.

  ### 39. Must Try

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

It is easy to set up and support is really great if you need them. Also a very cost effective solution. The reports are also great in the way they break them down to multiple reports depending on your position at the company.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Nothing much. Everything is clear and in place

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To scan internal and external network. From there, I can check the report and mitigate teh vulnerability

  ### 41. Good platform for security Testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Good platform to form the basis of a pen testing platform, having all of the basic elements covered saves time and effort.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

RPi support is limited on new hardware and the reporting customisation could be made much easier.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basic Pen testing workload and testing is handled and reported on

  ### 42. Great Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

was dismissed when approched support re false positive/lack of proper evidence in 1 test

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With vPenTest, organizations can proactively mitigate risks and safeguard their digital assets against evolving cyber threats

  ### 44. vPentest- Great for small and huge businesses but nothing in between

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristian A. | Network Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2023

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Scans are very comprehensive. The tool is simple to use and can be deployed very fast in multiple environments.
Scans can be scheduled and their pricing fits great for small and big businesses alike.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

The human factor is missing so some vulnerabilities may slip through the cracks due to it lacking any creativity, hopefully with the advancement of AI, this issue will be mitigated.
A HUGE downside is the pricing model, no medium size MSP will be able to make use of the limited scans/month and make the cost worthwhile. No small business wants 3/4 scans a year, most will do 1 if they want to at all. The default max IPs scanned needs to increase to at least 500 to make this worth it's starting price.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not all businesses can afford to pay a huge amount of money for a penetration test, so for any small business with under 50 or so IPs this tool works great as you can fit in multiple scans a month.

  ### 45. Smooth Process

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2024

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Easy to use, powerful and accurate penetration tool

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

Only english reports available. Have to Google translate or rewrite the reports for our french-speaking customers

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As MSP, vPenTest is giving us the ability to be more proactive and correct issue before they became really one

  ### 47. Great Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

testers can simulate attacks from various locations and devices

vPenTest can be conducted without causing significant interruptions to your operations.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

It's important to note that the effectiveness of vPenTest, like any cybersecurity practice, depends on the skills and expertise of the testers and the thoroughness of the testing process

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vPenTest is to identify security vulnerabilities within an organization's systems, networks, and applications. These vulnerabilities could be exploited by malicious actors to gain unauthorized access, steal data, or disrupt operations.

Network review for insurance and certification

  ### 49. vPentest

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2023

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

It was extremely easy to setup customers and schedule tests on the dashboard.
Internal and External Pentesting is straightforward, easy and efficient. As an MSP that values automation, vPenTest was built for us!

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

It lacks customization, tuning and aggressiveness. It’s designed not to break the client’s environment, but there are a number of areas it needs to evolve with to dig deeper.
The report turnaround time could be slightly better
The support team is great and always available to help.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security Visibility into my clients infrastructure

  ### 50. Easy to use and understand

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jerry K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2023

**What do you like best about vPenTest?**

Easy to set up. Easy to understand the reports.

**What do you dislike about vPenTest?**

It can take a while for results to appear. The rule of thumb from the vendor is that final reports can take several days to assemble so it can make it difficult to set expectations with the customer on the duration of the test.

**What problems is vPenTest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an MSP, we needed a pen-testing tool that is easy to commoditize and deploy to customer environments. vPenTest is easy to set up in a VM and the licenses can be easily transferred for one-off engagements.
