It is a lightweight tool that enables users to easily create new text documents or modify existing ones. The application is designed as an alternative to Notepad, by offering a wider set of features. The software is a general-purpose editor and useful for anyone who regularly works with text documents. Its analysis module can be valuable when quick statistics on text documents are needed. The ability to compute word frequencies can allow users to easily spot and quantify repetitions. Text Edit Plus comes with a clean and simple interface that newcomers will find very easy to grasp. The application can load text files, such as TXTs, CSVs and HTMLs. It provides an arsenal of features for text manipulation. It's also free to use. What I like the most is that it gives you the option to choose a dark theme over the interface, which is really helpful if you're a programmer as it will reduce the strain to your eyes when you're sitting in front of your monitor for hours. You can run multiple text files in tabs and it has various built-in keyboard hotkeys to smoothen your experience. **What do you dislike about Text Edit Plus?** My only dislike is that Text Edit Plus doesn't have the necessary features that are catered to programmers. For instance, there is no syntax highlighting, so the text editor by default doesn't highlight and alert you of any syntax errors you may have missed. **Recommendations to others considering Text Edit Plus:** I certainly recommend Text Edit Plus as it is a lightweight tool that works as intended. It's still a huge upgrade over the traditional Notepad and the dark theme can definitely be more visually appealing to work with as opposed to a bright white screen. **What problems is Text Edit Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Text Editor Plus on my laptop for programming purposes. The dark theme for the interface made me choose this software over others as it allows me to continue working for longer hours without eye strain. In addition its weight is light. **What do you dislike about Text Edit Plus?** I would like an FTP tool to be incorporated. In addition, some add-ons cause the editor to freeze. For any developer looking to change publishers, I would definitely recommend it. I recommend it for its tools for HTML and PHP. **What problems is Text Edit Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Text Edit Plus is a very complete editor, and has several features to program in php and html simultaneously, which are a great help for my daily work.
