The basic features of their services do work - users are able to create their own apps and use Nexmo's services rather easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Vonage Communications APIs? Nexmo's so called 24/7 support is really bad. If you end up in a tight spot and need support during the weekends, you are really between a rock and a hard place. Our campaign halted for 3 hours during the most important day because Nexmo had put some restrictions to our account. Nexmo is also becoming quite expensive to use. During our use of Nexmo the costs for making calls doubled. Also, Nexmo has promised to get for example a quick and easy way to make our own "voice mail recordings" but at least in Finland you still have to use a TTS-announcement - which btw is not too good in Finnish. We also did not get a mobile number (we had to stick with a landline number) so we were not able to register that number and people we were calling were not able see who is trying to call them. In our case we were not able to spend enough money during a 24h hour period. This might sound quite funny that you cant control how much you are willing to spend during a day. The SMS service is by far the easiest to use, simple API tools available, and priced very reasonably. Recently, they've announced they will be charging to receive messages, not just renting virtual phone numbers and sending messages. To me that seems like double-dipping. I love the sleek, easy toned theme of the software, along with the simplistic home screen and displayed metrics that appears upon login. Recommendations to others considering Vonage Communications APIs: A wonderful tool that allows for maximum exposure to Video and Voice logs. In my line of work, we primarily use open tok for its inspector tool (Session Diagnostic Tool). This allows us to inspect full video and audio logs of our clients who utilized our online video software. When troubleshooting reported issues with live video, it is essential to know first hand what kind of browsers were utilized by each user, as well as the OS running, wish also allows us to generally identify device types (Mac PC, Mobile etc.). Alongside this, we also gain the knowledge of the area that the device was connecting from, as well as full views of Bitrate, Packet Loss and Latency data for each user's connection. Should you need a full run-through of the session, you can also see a play by play of the video and audio publishing and connection by expanding the Event logs or get right to the errors and users who experienced the errors, using the error log drop down. Additionally, you are also provided with the option to filter out text from the logs, which allow you to view only entries that correspond to your keyphrase, saving time and a headache. We can only pay 100 euros at a time, which in some short periods of the year is very low compared to our consumption, leading to multiple automatic reloads per day. This leads to dozens of 100-euro invoices, which only become available after quite some time, and which you cannot download, they can only be e-mailed to you. Nexmo has a great SDK that is easy to add to any project. If you need to quickly add SMS messaging to any site then nexmo is the ticket. I really like the price. For SMS messages they really do have the best deal out there. I liked how easy it was to get the first virtual number and then add more as we need them It's a super simple service. If you have a problem or something that is mission-critical then you will be stuck waiting for emails. I would like to see phone support or at the very least chat support. Also, they are great until you have a problem. They do have enterprise support and maybe then you would get phone support. I would say support is not very startup or indie developer friendly. In the last few days, I have been working on a new project. I paid money for the nexmo service and they suspended my account I am working with them to get it restored. We are also using it to verify forgotten passwords. It the future we will be using nexmo to allow us to have sms communication with customers. We have seen our customers respond better to SMS messages and we can quickly solve problems. We will be integrating this into our custom franchise management system. It's APIs are easy to use and set up. Low fees. Your own texting phone number for a low monthly fee. Logs for troubleshooting. Nexmo also offers voice messaging and other services. This is an issue not about Nexmo itself but rather the mobile companies: There is a daily limit on how many messages you can send out per phone number. If you exceed this limit, then phone companies could block your number and you wouldn't be able to send out any messages! The limit seems to be 100 text messages per day, with some people suggesting it is less. I use Nexmo to send sms for notifications of a site we are very satisfied! Through Api it is very easy to use the SMS service completely customizable via the dashboard. Fast and functional it does its job well. Intuitive control panel. All the macro categories are well organized. Work in this way is facilitated. The documentation is well written. Customer service responds quickly. I have yet to try the voice service, but I'm sure it will be as good as the SMS service. There is email notification when I am reaching the spending threshold. The Profile section is also well organized. The invoices can be downloaded after you make the recharge with paypal. I can add other users to my profile. Usage of SMS outbound messaging during non working-hour (that is the case for business-critical application) is not properly handled, because delivery receipt does not means SMS received in the destination device, but only that SMS has beenaccepted by the last station to be delivered to the device and, outside extended working hours (from 9:00pm till 8:00am net morning, always during festivity), actually less than 5% of messages lands on destinatary device, despite 95%success decleard by reports.
