You can assign works to specific people and provide additional details so everyone would be on the same page. The cost is prohibitive. We only purchased a small amount of licenses at our company because it's so expensive which is leading us to look for alternative tools. I like the fact that I can glance at my project & tell which tasks are being worked upon, which ones are finished & by whom. I also like the ability to give points to the stories in order to determine the complexity, tag them & package the whole project into multiple EPICS(a business feature). That fact that I can mark a particular story as bug/chore/feature makes it highly optimized for Software Development Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You need to understand few concepts such as stories/points/epics which are very specific to Pivotal Tracker which makes it little difficult for a new user. It also means that in order to use Pivotal Tracker effectively, you might need to have at least one team member who have had used this product beforehand or read pivotal help section comprehensively. But the thing is, it is these concepts that make Pivotal Tracker stand out from competitors & makes project management more efficient once you get a hang of it.
