An easy to use management system that is a must have if you are working in a group environment. You can assign works to specific people and provide additional details so everyone would be on the same page. Our processes are much smoother as a result of using Pivotal Tracker, and tasks never fall through the cracks. It's a great tool for fleshing out tickets and everything associated with them: screenshots, acceptance criteria, etc. I actually really enjoy using this tool because it makes productivity great! We only purchased a small amount of licenses at our company because it's so expensive which is leading us to look for alternative tools. I like the fact that I can glance at my project & tell which tasks are being worked upon, which ones are finished & by whom. I also like the ability to give points to the stories in order to determine the complexity, tag them & package the whole project into multiple EPICS(a business feature). What do you dislike about VMware Tanzu Labs? You need to understand few concepts such as stories/points/epics which are very specific to Pivotal Tracker which makes it little difficult for a new user. It also means that in order to use Pivotal Tracker effectively, you might need to have at least one team member who have had used this product beforehand or read pivotal help section comprehensively. But the thing is, it is these concepts that make Pivotal Tracker stand out from competitors & makes project management more efficient once you get a hang of it. While working on my own startup, it helped me in streamlining my business features so that I'm more organized & also gave a good overview to my non-technical cofounder on predicting the feature delivery there by giving customers better due dates for upcoming features. What do you dislike about VMware Tanzu Labs? - Default settings very questionable. - Not possible to export tasks by filters - inconvenient search (e.g. JIRA can suggest similar already create tickets, while creating new ticket) - Need more linkable structure for tasks. E.g it is possible to create only subtasks of tasks, but sometimes need to organize tasks in dependencies, and all this need to do (sorting at least) manually.
