"VMWare Fusion: A suitable solution for platform specific software"
3/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

I liked that I could swipe back and forth between my screens on my Mac to access PC-only programs, like Articulate Storyline. Copy/Paste generally worked well. I could access all my computer's files from it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

It takes up a huge amount of space and would "suspend" if I was going over bandwidth and interrupt my work. I'd clear up the requested amount of space and it still wouldn't work. Also encountered a glitch where sometimes I couldn't access Internet from the Windows application even though my Mac was connected just fine. Resetting the network wouldn't always fix it and often would have to reboot the whole system to hopefully fix it. Copy/Paste was also inconsistent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A must have if you use MacOSX"

What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

Some software is just not available for MacOSX and that's life, with fusion you don't need to suffer by not having it or get another PC or OS to have it available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

Great software but driver emulation still not there yet, hope someday it will :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

I had a computer refresh recently less than a month ago and one of the things I dread is doing the computer setup, exporting the VM from the old computer and importing it to the new was really quick and easy and best of all everything worked exactly as on my old Mac. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

My computer gets hot when running Fusion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for virtual Windows machines!"
5/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

I like that I can use Fusion to create both temporary and permanent VMs (using either the Windows Trial licenses for temporary or a full paid license for a permanent machine), so it's great to use the free trials for when I only need a temporary machine to test software for a few weeks at a time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

There's not too much to dislike! I do find that the fan tends to run louder on my MacBook when the Fusion VM is active, but then again, that could be because I haven't cleaned the dust out in about 3 years... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A necesity for every MacOSX user."

What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

It allows me to use several OS at the same time on only one laptop, the alternative would be using 2 laptops or partitions on my MacBook with the annoying downtime between reboots. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

Having an OS setup on VMware takes slightly longer than a native one since you have to set VMWare tools and configure file permissions between the host and the VM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A must have for every MacOS business user."

What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

Some programs are only available on Windows and that's life. With Fusion you can open those programs directly on your MacBook without needing another laptop dedicated to Windows so you can have the best of both worlds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

If your VM is encrypted with BitLocker the computer gets hot very fast and stays that way until you close it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy and fast to use"

What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

Great to run apps that are not available on a Mac. Unfortunately, I have to use software that isn't available on My favorite OS, so with VMWare fusion, I don't need to swap machines or OS to open a vsdx, just wait for 1 minute and open it in a virtual machine Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

The performance is not as great as running the apps natively but the difference is not as big, so not really a big issue Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Just the best virtualization software for MACOSX"
5/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

Works and integrates really well with Windows and Linux hosts, drag and drop two-way funcionality including cut and paste words and urls. You can run several VMs in your machine as long as your hardware is good enough to support it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

Setting up a new virtual machine, specially if it's a flavor of Windows can take hours. And setting up a separate network card is not trivial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's like having windows installed over a Mac"

What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

I can run all my windows programs directly on my mac, no need to change computers to run a windows only program like Visio. I can suspend it with click and continue later exactly where I left it without needing to start the virtual machine again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

When you suspend a VM for a lot of time for some reason the clock is not synced for a few minutes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
