"A must have for every MACOSX user"

What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

Not all things run on Mac sadly and from time to time I need to run Windows-only programs like Visio and while I do have the license and another pc to run it, it's just better to only use one pc for everything instead of overcomplicating it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

Some programs really don't like to work inside a virtual machine, no matter how hard I try there are some issues with things that use special drivers to work just does not run and some that run really slowly, but for the other 95% of the time it's just amazing software. And to be fair it also does not run on Virtual Box or any other VM container Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Is a good tool to avoid having two laptops"
5/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

It works as expected 97% of the time, with the exception of some Wireless Tools that some coworkers need and some drivers every other software worked exactly as expected. It can even run a separate network connection for every VM, really useful when the VM has intranet permissions but not the host machine. Good general support for everything to make it seamless to copy, paste, and transfer between host and VM and even between VMs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

It runs toasty even on a cool day if you have anything intensive on the machine and most important you can't use hardware acceleration for things that normally benefit from it, like BitLocker so if you have to protect the VM with BitLocker that means that is going to run on software and that is CPU intensive. "The best software for Virtual machines in MacOSX"
5/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

It runs Windows, Linux, switches, routers, and WLCs without issues or extra config, as long as you know what you are doing it's really easy to follow through with the configuration and if you have VMs already configured importing them is really easy.

Another great thing is that you can set restore points in case you want to try something that you are not sure if it is going to work, restoring takes some minutes, but makes sure you aren't wasting your time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

It can get my Macbook really hot even when the only thing that I'm doing in the VM is idling like in the native OS, it sets the cores to run at higher speed all the time. I don't matter if that happens in a Desktop PC but that means that if not careful it can drain my battery really quickly while idling with a VM open, besides that I think Fusion is pretty much perfect for what it does. "Buggy, trying to upgrade you often and very sly"
1.5/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

Vmware Fusion helped me to use Windows on my Mac in the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

Every Mac OS X system release is a lottery. Whether Vmware Fusion will continue to work, whether it will be updated or a company will make you an upgrade offer.

I had a version 10.1.6 and it started to show a black screen on Mac OS Catalina. I searched for solutions, and find that I need to install a trial of version 11 to enable security settings in my Mac. And then to delete it and download back a version 10.1.6. Just because developers don't want to make a small patch that will just ask that security setting and think that most users are stupid and won't solve this problem and will upgrade again.

I did Install version 11, but when I tried to download 10.1.6 from the official site I got an error "Your download request has been received and is under review for download eligibility."

3 business days someone sly from VmWare will hope that I will upgrade instead of my right to download particular version from the official site.

Shame on you, VmWare. You are dealing like a scammer to get my money for nothing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Functional But Not User Friendly"
2.5/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

The biggest thing is that it allows the user a completely immersed experience within the virtual machine. For example, we run a version of Windows 10 through VMWare off of a Mac, and it's as if there were only the PC functioning on that window. For functions that need to be done on a PC (we use an old recruiting software), it's very helpful to have an entire virtual machine to run off of rather than just the program (like through Microsoft RD).

Another plus is that documents can be dragged easily (most of the time) between the PC desktop and the Mac desktop, so that interface is relatively seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

There are a number of downsides. The biggest is the strain on the computer's power and processing. The program is hefty, and that is felt across the board on the computer. Additionally, the combination of VMWare and EMAS Recruitment Pro is inefficient, as EMAS needs to be restarted constantly when the user navigates out of VMWare for too long. That could be specific to that particular combination, but I have not had the same problem with other, similar software.

Additionally, the network connection isn't consistent and I constantly have to change back and forth between the sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A necessity for business MacOSX users"
5/5
What do you like best about VMware Fusion?

It's really flexible, you can assign only 1GB of ram and 1 CPU for a VM or assign all the resources to a VM depending on the needs of that particular VM, with the right settings you can run 5 VMs without any problem as long as enough resources are available Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about VMware Fusion?

License is not cheap, but let's be honest if you can afford a MacBook there is a really high chance you can afford the license price of Fusion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
