Sometimes server is getting slow and unable to process the VMs

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As of now everything working good

  ### 2. Great product but SSO is a bit cranky. Sometimes the SSO breaks and it is difficult to repair this.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Very handy tool for managing the virtual machines.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The SSO is somewhat difficult to keep steady. It breaks up and it is not easily repaired.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Give end user the control of their virtual machine. We couldn't give users of course no access to vSphere, so vRealize definitely solved this.

  ### 3. VMware Cloud Foundation Proof of concept and first impressions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William B. | Lead Infrastructure Architect - Hybrid Cloud , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2020

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Traditionally a VMware environment can be difficult to manage with it comes to software upgrades. With the integrated SDDC Manager it allows you to perform consolidated upgrades off all the components in the system using VMware validated software releases.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The VCF platform can be an expensive system with licenses that can be up to $20,000 per core (!!!). I would also like the VCF product to be able to scale down to a smaller size. It currently does not make sense financially for my customer to run VCF unless you do VXRACK or are running it on many dozens of nodes. We had 6 sites with 4 to 6 nodes each (HPE DL380 Hardware) and VMware advised us that the VCF solution was "too big" for what we were trying to do. We absolutely love VCF, it would be perfect to have out at my customer but it seems to be too large for many companies here in Norway, which tend to be more SMB sized.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

I would highly recommend VCF to organisations looking for true private cloud. It seems they have brought the "OpenStack" experience to the SDDC world.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We ran a proof of concept on VCF at a large Telco customer here in Norway. We were trying to build a true consolidated SDDC platform which included easy software management in a validated design. Consolidated management, the SDDC Manager, Consolidated Upgrades.

wavefront is a very unified system that contains functions that provide fast and automated responses to all my applications and that I like that I can create important alerts, intelligently adjusted by advanced analysis, besides having only the option that provides an incomparable visibility in all our cloud-based services.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The good service of this product that has provided this monitoring software in my company has been a great help and the truth is that we are quite satisfied with all the services it has given us since it provides for those users who do not know how to use it Online videos demonstrating how to use the truth, this is great since not everyone knows how to use it correctly.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

  ### 11. Proactive Operations Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

It integrates out of the box with VMware products, and once you deploy it, it starts to collect data, after 1 week you will start to have historical data. The more information it collects the better it predicts and the more accurate the reports become.
There are a lot of predefined reports that fits the majority of the daily operations. Reports and dashboards varies from simple list of VMs and their resource usage, clusters capacity to custom dashboards with external generated data.
As an example you can have scripts collecting information about physical switches availability and upload that information to vRealize Operations using the Text File Adapter, this way you can have a visibility of your full network (virtual and physical)
There is also the option to create interactive dashboards enhancing user experience and providing richer output.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

It can be a bit confusing to manage all of the features that vRealize Operations has to offer.
It has a lot of dashboards already built in that matches the majority of the needs, custom dashboards can be added or extensing existing ones to add further detail, but sometimes it may get a bit confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

It can be very expensive, there are cheaper solutions, but may not be easy to integrate if you use mainly VMware products.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a tool that was able to gather historical data, generate reports and have monitoring capabilities included.
We have the majority of our alarms being generated from vRealize Operations.
With vSphere 6.7 vRealize Operations can expand the DRS capabilities, by taking smart decisions when moving the vms between clusters, (Predictive DRS).
Having the workloads balanced across an entire data center eliminating hot spots and helps maximizing hardware investment.

  ### 12. Most featured centralized management tool for your data-center

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yasas Sri S. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

1) Central management of all of my ESXi server nodes.

2) DRS to balance computing workloads with all available resources (ESXi nodes).

3) HA to minimize the application down time since it has the ability to restart the failed VM on another ESXi node.

4) Snapshots - enables me to do any modifications to my VMs and revert back with in seconds if any thing goes wrong.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

VMware vCenter license cost little bit more

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to manage all the VMware ESXi server in different physical locations using one console.

  ### 13. vRealize Suit provides network insight

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Biplab S. | Application Architect, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

vRealize Suit provides real-time insight to the network traffic between the VMs. Querying the tool is super user friendly. If someone has doubt regarding the connectivity between two VMs that should not exists as per the functional requirement, he could query the tool to know the amount of network traffic and the ports between which it is happening. That may reveal some infrastructure level traffic flows which is not an explicit application level functional requirement. This helps deciding whether that flow could be blocked without breaking a working software system.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Sometimes it takes an awful lot of time to return the result of your query.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I worked on a NSX implementation project. Sometimes after implementing an exception rule, end users still complains about connectivity issues. vRealize Suit comes as a great investigating aid that provides the insight of the network traffic.

The AWS depeloma and virtualization tools management is very important for me. Just pretty straightforward. I suggest also using cloud-based trend micro software. You can safely access the cloud to protect yourself against threats such as WannaCry, Erebus etc.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The flexibility and use models are limited and the management of the VMware is limited.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

New streamlined access hybrid cloud service. Recommend that you seek to easily control or modify the cloud company network using this software-based architecture.

For cloud-related applications in the DoD we use VMware Cloud Foundation. In any part of the world, we have easier and more reliable access to information and data. This replaces the sharing of data via USB, CD or e-mail.

  ### 17. Fantastic Monitoring Tool!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher F. | Cloud Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2019

Wavefront offers an extensive catalog of monitoring tools for all sorts of resources and metrics. It includes integrations into tons of well known application and application providers, and allows a lot of custom hooks to track pretty much anything you can think of.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

It's a big complicated to really set up certain things, but so is what's being monitored, so it's not a major gripe.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We host a number of clouds and infrastructures for customers, so we're using Wavefront to both internally monitor our own clouds, but also to provide customers with the abilities to monitor what we host for them as well.

  ### 18. My experience with vRealize Suite

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

1) Network insight is a very powerful tool for troubleshooting but expensive. It has a 360 view of your entire environment (virtual, physical, public cloud).

2) Operation manager is for Datacenter optimization. It can detect idle or powered off VMs so resources can be claimed, it can rightsize a VM (add/remove resources), it can balance your clusters based on technical/business intents, it can do capacity planning and so much more.

vRealize Automation will provide end users with a selfservice portal so they can deploy applications way faster and without talking with anyone.

Log insight and vRealize business are not my favs.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The vRealize suite can be expensive. It’s vSphere centric but that does not mean it can be extensible.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

vRealize makes sense when you have the whole suite not individual products.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Network insight for troubleshooting physical network and virtual network using NSX. vRA to provide self service portal to end users. vROPS as the main tool for Datacenter operators.

  ### 19. vRealize Automation - its days are numbered

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

It took us a while to get on board and setup.configure vRA to dramatically reduce the amount of time to provision servers but now it is rock solid and addictive as more and more teams do not want to let go of vRA.

There is a very high learning curve to the product but it is very powerful as it can talk to pretty much any app/software as long as you are willing to put in the time to integrate.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

This is not an easy to use, friendly software where it is click here and click there. So, enter at your own risk to setup time and effort to get your systems integrated with it but then after it is done, you will not want to change so easily since again so much time and effort has been put it in.

Needs major update but I believe VMWARE is going to discontinue this product.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Requirements and learning curve are high, so be prepared to invest time and money. And once you fully invest, spend time and money, product might be discontinued. But, thats my opinion.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All aspects of Server provisioning
Server automation
Automation with other systems
Integration with other systems

  ### 20. help with all our monitoring needs and the predictive analysis of the product is mostly a hit.

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2020

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The UI is easy to use and easy to learn for beginners. The customisabiliity is another advantage for advanced users.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Not much i would say. except for probably getting locked with a vendor.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of use cases built where we use vROps to trigger vRO flows to fix issues in the environment.

  ### 21. Nice produc which for sure needs further development

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The orchestrator has integration with various products like VMware, powershell, active directory, dns, different hardware platforms and etc. With its large set of actions it lets your devops tem automate many tasks in your environment.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The clustered setup is far away from perfect. Some plugins are not well designed and do not like clustered setup. VMware support does not know the product quite well and usually the solution is to upgrade or found the by yourself.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating server provisioning tasks and reporting.

  ### 22. fast and secure environment

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahendra K. | Associate Software Engineer, Computer Games, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

it provides integrated cloud storage and networking platform, which is easy to use

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

pricing is too high, not affordable for small scale industry

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

need to decrease pricing and improve a lot of features which are lagging

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

cloud storage performs, my company uses it. rich user-friendly environment to deploy the application in the cloud and maintain it one place, without relay on third-party applications

  ### 23. vRealize Automation Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I like how easy vRealize is to setup in the environment. It used to be much more complicated back in the day but now with the use of a scripted appliance deployment, this is a breeze.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I dislike that vRealize has not matured into more specific VM related metrics. For example, we need vRealize to be able to help diagnose and troubleshoot Linked Clone metrics like, login times, application launch times, profile management and group policy loading time. We have had to look for third party software to help in this area.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vRealize helps us have a better outlook/view into our VM Environment from a provisioning and health perspective.

  ### 24. fire and forget, your job is done !

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

it is very easy to integrate and automate with most of the third party tools using SOAP and REST api,
VMware have lots of inbuilt plugin options which save your effort to integrate tools and co-ordinate with them.
and very good SNMP triggers, helps you to monitor anything like champ!
1 tool and multiple connections , multi-site controls , 1 stop watch and monitor
Thanks VMware to make things easily work in era of private cloud :)

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

  ### 25. vm ware cloud foundation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Textiles | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Everyone has been helpful from the beginning. All levels of the business who have interacted with the VMWare team have been impressed by their professionalism, courtesy, and alignment to the business.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

You are bound by VMWare and once you are pledged to one of their solutions you are wrapped up in to purchasing others. This is the same with a lot of vendors but in particular VMWare I have found. It is a great product though.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Make sure you are familiar with VMWare. Do some surveys of other users in your industry to prove it is recommended and if possible, do a trial.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 26. vROPs can monitor the Whole Infrastructure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russell H. | VMware Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

A very customizable solution. It allows admins to create custom dashboards, views, reports, etc. to help keep their environment in check. Many 3rd party vendors also offer great solution addons for vROPs to allow other hardware and software to be monitored.
VMware has also recently started supporting application monitoring for both Windows and Linux OSs. This allows admins and end users to be able to see dashboards, reports, and get alerts tailed for their applications and application stacks.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

There is a learning curve to understand the interface. VMware has worked hard to make it easier with each iteration though.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Make sure to try out the application monitoring and Server application discovery.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vROPs can monitor all virtual and physical environments, allowing you to monitor an entire SDDC and all of the physical infrastructure associated with it.

Our On-Prem data center is completely virtual environment. We are using vSphere for our all host. Currently, we are using vCenter Server 6.5. Most best feature in vCenter Server is a service that allow you to manage your all your virtual infrastructure in a single platform.
It has multiple features do I love that, like Dashboard is very simple to understand.
With OS template in vCenter in short time you able to make new Virtual Machine as your requirement,
Single Sign-On (SSO) this feature is allow you authentication against multiple user repositories as your Active Directory. Also host profiling is good feature.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

In previous version in vCenter 6 has client applications for vCenter management which is more easiest to current web based version of vCenter 6.5
Secondly, need to minimize cost for small environment who running just 2 or 3 host.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

vCenter server is best for enterprise virtual environment. A single vCenter Server can manage thousands of VMs. Less your man-recourse and time with vCenter, Also you can batter manage your all host machine’s resources with vCenter.vCenter server provide good visibility of your server performance

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 29. To achieve Automation in Private and public cloud

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

vRealize automation is very powerful for Iaas and SaaS. very easy to configure blueprint using canvas. and it can integrate with different endpoint, ITSM and identity management tool.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

We have checked vRealize automation is not capable for PaaS solution.and there is no auto healing for virtual machine.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

To automate the infrastructure, this is best tool

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have realize many benefit of vRealize Automation, fast virtual machine provisioning, NSX integration, multi tenant environment.

  ### 30. It just works...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg G. | SQL Database and Business Intelligence Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2018

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

For me, it's ease of use. I'm not the primary administrator, but 6.0 and the included web client provides me all of the resources I need to do my job without headaches. I'm the company DB/BI manager so I have a small subset of VMs that I manage, but I can't remember a time where I've had to spend any time on a forum or with support because vCenter wasn't performing.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I see where they're going with the web client, but I still prefer the thick client. While all of the feature set I need is in the web client, it just feels slower than the thick client. The primary admins of our VMWare environment dislike the web client enough to not upgrade to 6.5.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

If you have more than 1 or 2 hosts, it's worth it to get vCenter so you can get the high availability and time savings it provides. Even if you haven't considered it in quite some time, check out the current version...it might be time to re-evaluate.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have 8 hosts to manage. We needed a single interface to go where we could manage our infrastructure and provide high availability. The benefits I've seen are that I can do everything I need to do without surfing through 8 hosts and having to schedule downtime of my SQL servers when infrastructure repairs need to be made.

  ### 31. Vmware

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalia R. | Technology Teacher Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

With VMware, you will be able to virtualize machines, which is really useful for creating a test environment with multiple operating systems, for example, or even for a real production environment. The interface is very intuitive, and you will quickly learn to create virtual machines with different technical capabilities. The way it manages resources such as main memory (RAM), hard drives, central processing unit (CPU), and network cards is excellent.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The problem with VMware is the high economic cost of the commercial license required for its use. It is possible to find equally valid and similar alternatives in performance in the world of free software, which are free.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Highly recommended for its ease of use and excellent management of different virtualized environments that hardly drop in performance.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is used to have different machines for practicing in client-server environments with Windows 12, and also to create servers with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Students can create private network environments and learn to manage them without the need to resort to a real network infrastructure, which would be much more costly.

  ### 32. Great tool if you need it

  ### 33. VCenter has changed how we work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I love that fact I can go from host to host just by clicking on the drop down, I don't have to have a number of different tabs open to switch between them I can just access the one vcenter instance to control them all

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

it isn't easy to setup, it took us a couple of months to get a good understanding of it and integrate this with SSO and a new of other features. the SSO did come very useful but it take alot of work to setup and Vcenter documentation wasn't that easy to follow

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

being able to control all of our hosts from one area, I was able to setup a live migrate between the hosts to move VM's around that needs to stay on while restarting the physical host it's been a game changer for us.

one company achieved more in two days with CloudBolt than in two weeks with vRA.

  ### 35. works as advertised

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** animesh m. | Technical service delivery Mgr Dataceter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

We are using vCenter 6.5 to manage over 1000 servers mostly windows. Creating templates makes it very easy to deploy servers in minutes. Dash board is great to manage the VM's as well as monitoring. Great reporting tools as well.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Not many issues I can think of. I do prefer the older versions over the web based which I find it little harder to browse.. initial setup and configurations could be difficult for some folks.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Great product to manage and support for your virtual environment. I would definitely recommend you plan good before the implementation

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

managing day to day operations and monitoring the virtual environment. Running reports on capacity and resource usage.

Best cloud product. Less price. We Can store wide range of data. Very best cloud software. Using VMware we can use it from anywhere at anytime. Very best solution for cloud storage.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

It is best but if we forget to log off it consumes a lot data. The software is very good, not much complaints about the software.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Very good software

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This cloud solution is perfect. Can use it from anywhere at anytime so it solves many problems.

  ### 37. Vcenter touches everywhere

**Reviewed by:** orhangazi y. | IT Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I have a lot of configuration options on vcenter, from a virtual machine to ESXi HA Cluster. Its user interface is very friendly and easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

It is a bit expensive compared to other vendors.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

You won't regret to choose Vcenter.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its centralized structure with only one interface, you can configure anything on the environment.

  ### 38. Powerful industry leading VM Management suite

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua D. | Application Support Engineer II, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Being able to quickly and efficiently manage VM tasks is crucial. Managing deployment/backups/updates is all incredibly simple. Snapshots make roll back and disaster recovery a non-issue. Reporting and monitoring tools allow us to view our environments at a glance and set threshold standards for performance and operation.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I've personally not encountered anything that I dislike. My experience utilizing vCenter has always been a positive one. For the bugs I have encountered, support was able to quickly walk me through correcting them.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management and administration of over 60 virtual machines/servers. The ease of use has been incredibly beneficial for us in terms of necessary tech hours.

  ### 39. vCenter Control for all

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul C. | Self, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2018

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

vCenter is a very easy to use system that lets admin users take control of their virtual enviroment, permission levels can be setup to limit access to users / groups and the system even allows AD sign in, within the vCenter you can control, setup and configure all your virutal machines, storage spaces, networking setups and lots more

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Easy to get confused and lost if not aware of what you are doing and due to the power of the system incorrect usage may cause downtime, sometimes the system 'assumes' you are doing stuff without question such as clicking to reboot or stop a VM, sometimes the system just does it as requested

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Def woth using VMware VCenter to control your virtual VMware systems, massive benefits can be obtained from this system, such as automatric fail over on physical host faults and alike

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vCenter is a mega bit of software, installed often on a physical machine but in later versions the vCenter can be put on its own VM and this provide a massive host of benefits but problems may be encountered if you have incorrect setups, I would recommend you hire a VMWare consultant if never used / setup before

  ### 40. The Future Is Here!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Military | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I love VMWare Cloud services. They are at the forefront of cloud innovation technology, and have come a long way since their initial roll out. I really enjoy the speed and accessibility of this software, as any platform can connect anywhere in the world with ample internet speeds.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

There is currently nothing I have found that I dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation. The pricing can be a subject of criticism, but for what you get in terms of service is unparalleled in the cloud tech community.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

It is the best cloud service on the market! I would reccomend VMware Cloud Foundation to any organization looking to resolve cloud-related issues.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are actively using VMware Cloud Foundation for cloud-related solutions in the DoD. We are seeing faster, more secure access to information and data anywhere in the world at anytime. This is replacing data sharing via USB, CD, or e-mail-based techniques.

  ### 41. vRealize revolutionizes resource allocation to VM's

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

with vRealize Operations Manager you don't have to rely on the user to tell you what resouces a VM needs, vRealize Operations WILL TELL YOU and it will tell you consistently. You can look at historical data as well, which is nice if a system does a high volume hit on the VM once a month, but you can never pinpoint performance issues.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Some of the reports are a bit clunky and hard to follow. Once you get used to them you should be fine.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

There's no other product on the market that compares to this one, for what it does.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to save on VMWare licensing costs, server hardware costs as we didn't need to run all VM's with 4 core / 16GB of RAM. Maybe most vm's needed 1-2 cores and 4-8 GM of RAM. This helped save a large amount of money.

  ### 42. VMWare lessens hardware needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wanda B. | IT Manager, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2018

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

we are able to consolidate hardware and provide needed servers for our agency. It also helps with management of those servers. we have also been able to cut our over all cost to manage the servers including migrating servers as needed and building new servers in VMware vs physical servers. We reduced the need for a consultant to build every time we needed a new server.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

The pricing structure for us as we are a not for profit and would like to have more features but we can not afford to do so. We use a lower version and do not have Vmotion which would enable us to move from server to server again this is because of the cost of the upgrade.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

If you are interested in consolidating physical hardware, using higher end more effecient servers plus having a user friendly interface this product should fit the bill.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

consolidated 15 physical servers on to 2 servers, this allowed us to manage our agency farm in a more efficient manner. It also helped with our return on investment because we were able to purchase several high capacity / higher end servers to replace the older lower end, lower preforming servers.

  ### 43. Part of the best virtualisation software on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian T. | Infrastructure Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2018

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I like the HTML 5 web client that comes with vCentre. That you can manage your entire server infrastructure using your favourite browser. All VMware products are very reliable and robust.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I don't like the fact that the login needs a domain like @vsphere.xxx which in many situations the person setting up the vCentre environment will forget to document. Price is a bit high.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

If it is within your budget you have no reasons not to implement a VMware infrastructure.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

vCentre is part of our disaster recover environment where we always have a spare host on site that contains replicas of the live servers.

  ### 44. Good all around management / monitoring tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Lead System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

As an operations person, I like the straightforward and wholistic views of our environment. The environment I'm in is not huge, but to be able to spot troubled VMs, and infrastructure, like datastores, is extremely helpful. Looking into the cloud integrations and business planning features, it seems well rounded for larger shops

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Doesn't get as deep into hardware integration as I would like. Would be nice to manage, say, storage from array to datastore, but that might be a lot of integration to ask for.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visability, operational management, alerting, monitoring

  ### 45. Great product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Very great virtual machine management. Highly recommended. The user interface is great. Very useful if you want to consolidate your physical servers, which helps save space and energy.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Not much to dislike about this product. I have nothing to comment here. It just works and really does it's job.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

Do your research but don't forget about VMware, they are leaders in virtual technology.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consolidation of physical servers. Server health management.

  ### 46. VMWare’s vRealise Orchestrator has solid features and ease of use, but we found it hard to deploy.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dusan D. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2018

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

vRealise is extremely capable and flexible. It can complete daunting tasks that’d take a long time with a lot of other solutions at a blazing speed. It’s scalable, and locally ran, right on one of your machines, making it very versatile, and fully self-managed inside your system. The hardware requirements it asks for aren’t too high.
The software also has great support for a broad spectrum of plugins, making it even more specialized for certain tasks.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

vRealise is hard to deploy on very large scale systems. It’s not its fault tho, but rather, some people find it rather complicated to get used to at first. I’m talking the part of the team that aren’t strictly related to IT, and still need some level of automation. It is also rather hard to come by, being only a part of VMWare’s other suites.

**Recommendations to others considering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF):**

If you’re looking for a stand-alone solution, you might want to skip the Orchestrator, but if you’re already using VMWare’s enterprise solutions, the vRealize Orchestrator will fit right in your IT architecture.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned above, vRealise Orchestrator helps with a lot of tasks that need automation, cutting down the need for people who constantly operate such tasks. It offers solutions to operate multiple clouds, which we implement on our website. It really is a great tool that solves some important IT tasks easily!

  ### 47. Vcenter managing esxi servers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renato J. | Analista de redes N2, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I really like this software because it makes it easy to manage ESXi servers like: application updates and configurations of Esxi server cluster environment.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I don't have any problems with this software.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we were able to centralize our servers.

  ### 48. vCenter is the best (only) orchestrator for ESXi boxes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler W. | DevOps Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

vCenter works pretty well for managing multiple ESXi boxes. In reality, it is the only choice you have. It's easy to add licenses, hosts, create clusters of said hosts, add datastores, etc. The new HTML5 gui is pretty great!

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Here's what I dislike about vCenter:
- There's now the desktop vSphere client, the web (Flash) vSphere client, and now, the web (HTML5) client. None of these are 100%. They should've focussed on one client and made it awesome.
- Managing permissions for who can deploy VMs, access datastores, etc. is painful. Be prepared to spend a week of your time on getting permissions right.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can manage several ESXi boxes and datastores via vCenter - all of my items in one place. This has saved me an incredible amount of time!

  ### 49. vRealize Automation-On premise as well cloud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

vRealize Automation automation suites best for onprem as well Vcloud automation.Solved lot of manual work like create/delete snapshots periodically.

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

Nothing as such all features looks great!

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using custom automation based on sdk to manage snapshots for monthly patching, using vrealize solve our issue.

  ### 50. Managing clouds with Vrealize

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joan M. | CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I like the idea that Vrealize is a software platform designed to help IT administrators like myself build and manage hybrid clouds. There are 3 different tiers offering more advanced levels as you upgrade

**What do you dislike about VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)?**

I found this to be a bit complex and the price is somewhat steep for a smaller organization.

**What problems is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When first using Vrealize we saw in the beginning a useful tool to manage and secure our hybrid clouds..
