This was particularly pertinent during COVID-19 when the Rwandan government adjusted the restrictions on travel to ensure our team was able to make well-informed decisions. Though spending half an hour customizing my own scripts to track every new web site is just taking too much time. Visualping keep track not only text but also web elements on reatailer pages and being able to select areas visually makes it much easier to use and more flexible than other alert tools. **What do you dislike about Visualping?** Personal tier prices are rather high. At a hundred dollars a year, I'm not sure if all my alerts collectively can save me that much money. VisualPing notifies me of changes of any significance of my choosing, and usually emails me within a few hours of them occuring. It also highlights what is different, so no matter how subtle, it'll tell me what is new. **What do you dislike about Visualping?** We track about a dozen websites perfectly, but one of them is problematic in that the spacing changes all of the time. This triggers a false VisualPing update. The problem is relegated exclusively to that website though. **What problems is Visualping solving and how is that benefiting you?** The NSA will make changes to its classified destruction guidance without any announcement or fanfaire. This have huge implications on our industry, and after being caught totally offguard back in 2018, we signed up with VisualPing. Now I am made aware of any changes within hours of them occuring, automatically. You should check it out; it doesn't matter if you're a product marketer, content marketer, or working in any role across the marketing function in any industry. Here are my two cents on it. I'm working in the higher EDU space for a U.S.-based business. Yes, it's crowded and comes with its own set of problems. Everyone's doing their best, and everyone has the best resources at hand. So, how do I make sure I'm one step ahead? By getting continuous intel into my competitors in real-time. I want to stay informed about every fresh article, new product or service offering, or even minor alterations to my competitor's messaging as soon as they are available. This happened recently, I received an email from Visualping telling me about a new category called, "Student Life" that popped up in my competitor's navbar. I instantly checked the SEO implications for it and understood that it was worth chasing this new keyword. I researched similar keywords and found a couple of topics with loads of potential to bring traffic. I shared this update with the business team managing the EDU vertical. They too were interested in chasing this tail. Voila, we had a new blog vertical with a strong magnetic pull for college students eager to read tips to make their lives better. Moreover, I have set up monitoring for our own website. There are many internal teams working on the EDU business. So, sometimes, it's difficult to stay updated on everyone's agenda. It's chaotic working with seven different teams. Visualping was really helpful in keeping track of changes on the website for everyone. **What do you dislike about Visualping?** I wouldn't exactly say downside, but yes, the product needs some improvements. Recently, I received an email from Visualping telling me about the changes that were mere UI transitions of the "Suggested Blogs" section on the website. **What problems is Visualping solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have worked extensively with startups in the past, but working in corporate is new to me. The product itself works very well in providing passive landscaping and monitoring of websites, and the number of features and options to monitor specific parts of a page, navigating through pop-up menu's and overlays, and options for frequency and notifications are great. I have very little negative to say about Visualping - it has been an absolute blessing to our workflow and reduced the amount of overhead and time spent doing this landscaping work manually. It has MORE than paid for itself! **What do you dislike about Visualping?** It is hard for me to identify things I haven't enjoyed about using Visualping. There is a bit of a learning curve in using the service when it comes to getting around notification overlays, pop-ups, etc. - but their customer service team is quick to respond and provide insights and solutions to these sorts of problems. When we first started using Visualping, the UI was a bit slow/laggy in some of the features, but they have since addressed these issues and I haven't run into any issues since then. **What problems is Visualping solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use visualping to monitor various websites where we typically obtain data in order to be informed as soon as possible about when new data is released. This took a massive amount of time and energy to do manually, scolling through hundreds of websites looking for updates and changes - now we just get notifications in Slack to check any detected updates to webpages, and even have the option on only receiving notifications when specific keywords/terms are detected. ### 17. Visualping has a ton of options for creating alerts. As the name suggests it can check for visual changes, which is what makes it unique and is a method that can work when all else fails. There's also the ability to monitor text or HTML elements for changes, and you can further tweak by adding clicks, scrolls, cookies, refreshes, etc. I run several monitors on Visualping to help me with my own personal workflows. **What do you dislike about Visualping?** The visual element is a blessing and a curse. It's nice to be able to select the area of the window or the text you want to select, but sometimes it would be easier to target the raw HTML or text. Visualping doesn't offer much for monitoring tables of information with multiple pages, which can get a little annoying. I've also had to retire some Visualping monitors in favor of things like Retool, because what I want is for RPA to action on a change and not just an email when it happens. **What problems is Visualping solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are things I need to action on when something changes, such as updating a publication. This way I don't have to manually monitor the websites. It sends me an email and also gives me a link to the website. It is extremely useful and I love it! Setting up the sites that I wanted to monitor was very easy and intuitive. It's also nice because you can setup just part of a webpage that you want to see changes on, it's very customizable. I haven't used any of the actions but they look like they are really strong too. it alows for keyword alerts, which is what I mostly use. I've used it for monitoring my personal website, as well as other websites to see if things become availible ( e.g. camping, or reservations ) With some simple setup you can get it to notify your phone or email **What do you dislike about Visualping?** It took some configuring to get visualping not to notify me again when my keywords were removed from a page. e.g. nexus reservation, I had a location ID entered, and when It was on the page I wanted to be notified. I would get a followup notification a few hours later when it had dropped off as well. **What problems is Visualping solving and how is that benefiting you?** Visualping simplifies monitoring websites, so I don't need to write my own script to check on a website, I haven't used the scripting options, but they look like they would be powerful enough to log into a website so I could check things with that as well. ### 23.
