This means that developers can work in their preferred language or even take the opportunity to learn a new one. With access to thousands of plugins and extensions, developers can enhance their workflow and accelerate both their work and learning. Additionally, Visual Studio comes with built-in Git integration, making it easier for teams to collaborate. Developers can work on separate tasks and then use Git to merge their contributions seamlessly. The platform also benefits from a strong and active community. When you have thousands of extensions or plugins installed, the operating system can start to lag. Additionally, finding the specific plugin you need can be challenging due to the sheer number available. As a result, developers often end up downloading either all of them or none at all. One of the main advantages I've found with Visual Studio is its ability to handle multiple projects, each with their own required plugins. This allows me to work on several projects in parallel without feeling overwhelmed. Another significant benefit is its auto-completion feature, which not only speeds up my workflow but also helps me quickly find the exact logic or code I need. The major reason for me to use Visual Studio over Rider will be native support of some c# tooling which would be missing in Rider or organizational constraints to only use Visual Studio It will not be my go-to editor in C# world, but there would be some niche tooling support exclusively available to Visual Studio which will make me use it. I also highly appreciate its integrations with SQL Server and its support to be as a migration tool (SSDT). This is a direct tooling coming from Microsoft team which makes it easier to handle that. I always feel that Visual Studio is a very bulky code editor while IDE's like VS Code or Rider exists. Startup takes time and even code editing sometimes makes me slower due to the sluggish and in accurate intelli-sense compared to others. UI/UX is also a bit outdated for me and is still stuck in the old days. Code base navigation is also something which I personally find challenging in VS compared to Rider or VS Code.
