**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

There are many things which I like about Visual Studio Code.
1. The first one is being able to code in many languages all in one single text editor. I can have support for multiple languages along with the intellisense and other extensions support for the same.
2. The integrated terminal makes it easier to work on the code as well as run bash commands all within a single window. This largely improves the productivity as well.
3. Being able to customize the editor's looks to my suiting is also a very valuable feature.
4. Extensions for everything: I can download extensions for intellisense, for CI/CD, for code enhancements and tooltips, for theming, etc.
5. Integrations: I can integrate CI/CD pipelines, task management tools, cloud services along within a single text editor.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

The fact that visual studio code is memory heavy is the only downside I found in Visual Studio code. On systems with low memory and hardware specifications, it is usually very difficult to make use of the Visual Studio Code to the full potential.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Visual studio code helps to run code for multiple languages. This comes very handy in cases where I work on frontend as well as backend development and don't want to have separate softwares to run code in different languages.
2. Support for extensions for different languages: Intellisense, Linting, etc. support for multiple languages makes it easier to debug the code in multiple languages as well as also further speeds up the code writing process with the help of intellisense.
3. Integrations: I can integrate the tools such as Github, Jira, Bitbucket which basically allows me to work on the development as well as continuously deploy and integrate all within the same editor. It's support for git also allows me to quickly review my code and work on the changes/deployment as needed.
4. Integrated Terminal: Opening a project directory and working on the project while simultaneously working on the bash commands without the need to opening a new terminal helps with avoiding the problem of having multiple windows open and thus Visual Studio Code provides me an all in one coding tool where I can manage multiple aspects of a tech project all within the same coding tool.

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

The best thing I like is its marketplace which have all the extensions, debugging tools which are required. Its better than other IDEs. It is also open source. The UI is so good that it make beginners also to use it easily.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

Nothing to dislike about it. Everything is good as of now.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I generally use VS code for my terraform scipt. As the scipts are very long sometimes its hard to manage but VS code has made it easy. The auto suggest is the best features. While writing the code it also shows what is the use of the module which I am using and how to use it, it shows everything in descpription. The Problems section tells me where the code is wrong which helps in debugging. The terminal is very fast it displays the output very quickly.

  ### 36. Highly customizable and innuitive code editing software for any professionals!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcell C. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

Vscode is very user-friendly and has many features, such as syntax highlighting and integrations to hundreds of apps. Furthermore, it allows thousands of free extensions and improves your overall speed on the go, themes, tools, and whatever you need; the extension store always gives you what you are looking for. The customer support is done through Github; since it's mostly community-managed, it is always great; you can count on anyone. I use it daily, as I am a web developer mostly working with frontend, especially TailwindCSS and VueJS. Installation or the Ease of Implementation itself is very quick and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

SSH Support should be built-in; additionally, sometimes the app itself can be crazy on the resources, once you start to use more extensions.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily load up workspaces and load up multiple projects in the same editor, allowing me to switch between really quick. Additionally, it offers great themes and syntax highlighting even for night jobs. Of course you need extensions to make the most of it, so out of box it might not meet your requirements, but you can extend it freeily and easily.

  ### 37. VS code has become daily tool for remote work, well designed and with the right tools for developers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerardo H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

Since the launch of VS code the tool was made to fit on any computer, it was built for developers with all the features that an environment needs, It is lighweight and supports many add ons to improve the experience. One of the most important feature that personally I like is the incredible customization options, You can customize your environment to any compliance guide, if your company has rules for new code and standards like max number of identention you can easy manage these rules on the VS code environment. I have preconfigured my VS code to have a legible and clean code. I would add that It is not intended just for code but for txt and logs auditing also.

I love debugging tools, I can make many tabs with CMD or PS in one window. Then breakpoints are easy to identify and once you run your code you can check your global and local variables in a new tab. And all of this in a Lightweight IDE

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

I don't feel confortable with versioning tool, I think there's space to improve, I encounter this feature a little bit confuse, but that's my own perspective, then you can add editing options or autofill with your own code.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work as freelancer for many end customer, then I have to develope in Python, C/C++, each programming language has their own IDE, but with VS Code I can develope in any language using the same IDE. Many of my work I publish is on GitHub so VS Code also offer control version, debugging and run tools and specially Co-pilot.

VS code as part of development Its easy to develop and integrate but with upgrade it has many compactibility issues in application and also sometimes it has performance issues which can be rectified through analysing the code.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major benefit I felt was its cross platform compatibility that helped to to collabrate in any system and its debugging feature is another plus in VS Code.

There is nothing that I dislike about Visual studio code, everything looks for code development.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Writing large code manually in notepad or other editor is quite challenging because we may create syntax error, symentic error etc So VS code help us through this by providing auto suggestion, syntax error etc.

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

Visual Studio Code combines the simplicity of a source code editor with powerful developer tooling. It features a fast source code editor, With support for hundreds of languages that are useful in software engineers day-to-day use.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

Visual Studio Code's dubugger is complex based on applications and sometimes Some time extensions works very weird due to which it hangs and after running for a long time become a little heavy.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed an editor that isn’t just for one language and it doesn’t slow me down when I code. I have to context switch regularly so I expect my own brain to be the slowest element, not the IDE

  ### 42. Best IDE out there.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sujal P. | Software Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

I love the multiple language support. I don't need to install seperate apps for coding in some particular languages. I absolutely love the UI and ease of use. Version control integration is something that makes me choose VS over other IDEs out there.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

Few things i dislike are, No support available. And no choice over maintenance schedule of servers

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We really benefit out of VS because of its cross-platform compatibility. Making it easy for my team to collaborate. It allows every single member of my team to stay on the same IDE because of its version control support and availability of various plug ins and extensions.

  ### 43. Best way to code

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel S. | Librarian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

I love that it is simple (or as simple as you can get without losing features you need to do in depth coding), and that there are so many usefull extensions. There are some amazing extension that allow you to be able to code easier with others as well as checking your code in general. There are also useless fun ones (such as the pets) that add to its appeal. I use it anytime I need to code and it is easy. I don't recall if it was hard to set it up intially with my github, but I don't think it was. Even if it was hard, it is still worth it!

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

I honestly can't think of anything. I wish there was a quick cheatsheet for the different commands in the terminal, but that is more likely a me thing. I need to learn those better since they are universal. So not really VS Codes fault, that one is on me.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps my code very organized and helps me remember the next step in the code if I forget (since I am still new to coding). I have tried other programs and this is the best by far. If I do have to use another text editor, I will usually copy it into VS Code to fix it before I put it back where I need it.

  ### 44. User Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

When starting out, we tend to prefer tools that are easy to use. VS Code is one such tool that offers all the features beginners need. It encourages us to consistently open it up and start coding and developing. My favorite feature is the extensions, which allow us to easily improve the appearance of our code or fix errors by helping us identify mistakes during development. The customer care support is very awesome, when windows/macOS reports some error it quickly get fix. All installations of tools are very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

I feel when we up the Live Server it sometimes got crash and giving some wierd error. Though after restarting it got fixed but this can be better.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My Coding Problems which I do daily is in VS code. So I haven't tried much extension because it dosn't give me chance to switch to some other IDE.

  ### 45. VS Code is best in class

  ### 46. VS Code:-A coding platform that developer needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hardik V. | Software Developer, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

For the past six years, I've been using Visual Studio Code to code in multiple languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, and more. One of the standout features that I absolutely love about VS Code is its extensive range of extensions. I rely on over 30 extensions in my daily coding routine to significantly enhance my productivity. Its simple user interface creates an optimal workspace, setting it apart from many competitors. Additionally, the direct integration of tools like Git, Docker, Atlassian, and Postman within the workspace is a huge productivity booster, simplifying developer tasks and making the coding process seamless since I integrated Git with VS code I never used a terminal afterwards because I can do everything within vs code.

Speaking of customer support, I've found it to be exceptional. I've never encountered any issues when seeking assistance. While I've experimented with other coding workspaces like Sublime or Notepad, I've found VS Code to be exceptionally smooth and user-friendly. Furthermore, I've customized numerous shortcuts in VS Code that have further amplified my productivity. In summary, it's an outstanding platform for coding

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

When I mention the downsides, having lots of helpful extensions can actually make a developer a bit lazy. I start depending too much on these features, which can lead me to forget simple coding rules and make silly mistakes. So, while it's a good thing to have those helpful tools, they can also have a downside because they might make us a bit forgetful about the basics. Other than that, I haven't really experienced many drawbacks

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

so which things developers need, they need a good workspace and tools that make life easier to code. That's where VS Code comes in. It gives us both: a great workspace and lots of helpful features. Ever since I started using VS Code, I haven't felt the need to switch to any other text editor because it gives me everything I need.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

I often face noticeable lag issues when I code. this lag can ruin coding experience and productivity, especially if you are working on large or complex projects. It can also cause errors and bugs in your code due to the delay in syntax highlighting, error checking, and auto-completion.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding a code editor that can code editing, debugging, IntelliSense, and version control that is compatible with different languages and is free, You can benefit from this, you can save money and time.

  ### 48. Boost productivity with Visual Studio Code

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shernan Jenesis M. | Design Engineer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

Visual Studio Code is a big part of my everyday coding. It’s super easy to use, the screen looks nice and simple, so I can focus on coding without getting mixed up. Setting it up was smooth for me because it works with lots of different programming languages and stuff right away. I hardly ever need to ask for help, but when I did, they knew their stuff and helped fast. I use VS Code a lot, like hours at a stretch, and it’s always working fine. It has lots of cool things like IntelliSense, debugging, and extra stuff you can add, which really helps me work faster. Overall, VS Code is a strong editor that I’d recommend to any coder looking for a powerful, feature-packed coding setup.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

It's pretty great how well it connects with other tools, but every now and then, I have to put in extra effort to make sure all the add-ons work just right. That part takes a bit more time than I'd like, but once it's set up, it usually runs smoothly.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visual Studio Code solves a couple of key issues that benefit me in my coding work. Firstly, it provides a clean and intuitive interface, which minimizes distractions and allows me to focus on writing code efficiently. Secondly, its extensive support for various programming languages and frameworks out of the box makes it easy for me to switch between different projects without hassle. Lastly, its features like IntelliSense, debugging tools, and a vast extension marketplace significantly enhance my productivity by streamlining the coding process and offering useful functionalities.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamal Dyne N. | Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?**

Its strengths are primarily its accessibility for beginners and its great freedom of customization thanks to extensions. The clean interface and support for modern web technologies make it easy to use. The open-source version also ensures longevity and transparency.

**What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?**

However, VS Code lacks advanced features for managing very large projects, which are offered in more comprehensive development environments like IntelliJ IDEA.

**What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VS Code helps me enormously on a daily basis thanks to its quick launch and responsiveness. The editor opens almost instantly and I can start working on my code without wasting time.

The auto-completion of command lines and extensions also speeds up my productivity. I save valuable time by not having to remember all the syntaxes or search for documentation. A few letters are enough for VS Code to suggest the available options.

On the ergonomics side, the French localization of the interface allows me to quickly find my bearings and focus on my code.
