"The Perfect All-in-One IDE for Solo Founders"

5/5

What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

As the founder of a tech startup, I need a lightweight yet powerful environment to manage my entire codebase. The best part about Visual Studio Code is its incredible library of extensions and the seamless integrated terminal. It allows me to write, debug, and instantly deploy my app code (like to Firebase) without constantly switching between different windows. It keeps my workflow extremely fast and organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

While it is a fantastic editor, it can become quite resource heavy and slow down at times. When I am running multiple workspaces for Whistter along with heavy background extensions for debugging, it tends to hog a significant amount of RAM on my machine. A built-in performance feature to automatically sleep or suspend inactive extensions would be a great improvement for developers dealing with large projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?

Building my startup, Whistter, means I have to manage the entire codebase alone. VS Code solves the problem of juggling multiple tools. With its built in terminal and Firebase extensions, I can write, test, and deploy my code all from one single screen. It literally saves me hours of manual work every week. "Lightweight, Powerful, and Perfect for Cross-Platform Development"

5/5

What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

Visual Studio Code is one of the most lightweight and powerful code editors available. It starts quickly, consumes minimal system resources, and still delivers enterprise-level features. The extension ecosystem is excellent—whether it’s Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud tooling, there’s an extension for almost everything. IntelliSense, Git integration, debugging support, GitHub Copilot, and the integrated terminal are smooth and well thought out. VS Code works consistently across Windows, macOS, and Linux, making it ideal for cross-platform development. I use it frequently for my daily coding tasks, and it does an unbelievable job. The documentation and community support are excellent and cover almost all my development needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

Handling extensions can be challenging, particularly when several of them offer similar functionalities. This overlap can occasionally result in conflicts, unpredictable behavior, or inconsistencies during coding. Maintaining a stable environment, therefore, demands attentive management of extensions. Furthermore, I find that GitHub Copilot in VS Code seems less dependable and provides fewer features than some other AI coding assistants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?

Visual Studio Code allows me to consolidate my workflow by providing a dependable development environment for a variety of tasks. I rely on it for scripting, web development, and data analytics that involve database integration, working with languages like PowerShell, Python, Bash, and Go. Its robust language support, real-time feedback, debugging capabilities, and extensive integrations all in one platform enable me to work more quickly and maintain my focus. I no longer have to switch between different editors or IDEs, which boosts my productivity and streamlines the process of developing, testing, and maintaining code. The interface is very user friendly. You will get enough number of extensions for your ease of coding experience. The best advantage is thar you can compile any code of any programming language you just need to install the dependencies. You can also change the theme of the Visual Studio according to your liking. This is one of the best product or tool for development in market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

There is no such as con's but there are a few things that can be impproved for example when sometimes you install some dependencies you set path in your PC but it didn't get retrieveed in VS code and the second thing that can be improved is when you get install update of app it get's crashed sometime . if these issues get solved it will be a Outstanding Product in its category. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?

the main problem that is being solved by Visual Studio Code is You don't need to install different types of software or platform to compile and run different programming language codes. Just do some steps and Your are good to go there. Since i am a web developer and a college going student. I required to code in different languages like C++, Python, Java and web technologies like Node.js and React so VS is the ultimate platform for all reducing headache of installing different platforms. "Effortless, Powerful Coding with Customizable Flexibility"

5/5

What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like most about VS Code is how easy and comfortable it is to work with every day. It’s fast, doesn’t feel heavy, and still gives you all the powerful features you need. The extensions make it really flexible, so you can set it up exactly the way you like for different projects. Things like IntelliSense, Git integration, and debugging just work smoothly and save a lot of time. Overall, it feels reliable and gets out of the way so you can focus on coding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

While VS Code is great overall, it can sometimes feel overwhelming because of the sheer number of extensions and settings. Finding the right extensions or configuring them properly takes time. Occasionally, performance can slow down when many extensions are installed, and some features rely heavily on plugins rather than working out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?

Visual Studio Code solves the problem of needing a fast, flexible code editor that works well across different languages and projects. It brings editing, debugging, Git integration, and extensions into one place, so I don’t have to rely on multiple tools. This makes development smoother, saves time on setup and context switching, and lets me focus more on writing and maintaining code rather than managing my environment. "LigLightweight, Powerful, and Highly Customizable Codeht, Flexible, and Feature-Rich"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like best about Visual Studio Code is its lightweight performance and flexibility. It starts very fast compared to traditional IDEs, and I can customize it easily using extensions. I especially like features such as IntelliSense, built-in Git integration, debugging support, and the wide marketplace of extensions that help me work with different technologies like .NET, Angular, and AWS. It improves my productivity because I can manage coding, version control, and debugging all in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

One thing I dislike about Visual Studio Code is that it depends heavily on extensions for many advanced features. Sometimes managing multiple extensions can slow down performance or cause conflicts. Also, compared to full IDEs like Visual Studio, it has limited built-in features for large enterprise projects, so additional setup is often required. However, overall its flexibility still makes it very useful for my daily development work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?

Visual Studio Code solves the need for a fast, lightweight, all-in-one coding environment. Rather than switching between separate tools for writing code, debugging, version control, and managing extensions, VS Code brings these workflows together in one place. It also supports a wide range of programming languages and frameworks through extensions, which makes it highly flexible.

For me, this translates into better productivity. I can write code more quickly with IntelliSense, debug with less friction, handle Git tasks without leaving the editor, and tailor my setup to match each project’s requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

I like VS Code because it's very light and fast also very user friendly. Vs code has a lot of extension that makes coding easy and clean code. The interface is so clean and friendly you will loved it. It also supports git so that you can update your code at same time. And it feels smooth even with large files. What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

The only thing i dislike about VS Code is there settings, it feels so confusing for new users and it also need some extra plugins for basic features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?

For me VS Code has solved a lot of problem of coding in many languages without any other app. Recently I had contributed in open source projects where VS was the main code editor. Vs code saves a lot of time, keep my work organised and updated and make the development so easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visual Studio Code – A Developer’s Everyday Companion"

5/5

What do you like best about Visual Studio Code?

What I like best about Visual Studio Code is how effortlessly it adapts to the way I work. It feels lightweight when I just need a quick editor, but the moment I dive into serious projects, the extensions and built-in features step up and make coding smoother. I especially love the IntelliSense and auto-suggestions—they save me from silly errors and speed up my workflow. The built-in Git integration is another lifesaver; I don’t have to juggle between multiple tools. It feels like everything I need is just a click away, yet it never overwhelms me Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Visual Studio Code?

What I dislike about Visual Studio Code is that sometimes it feels a bit heavy when too many extensions are installed. It starts off fast and lightweight, but after a while, the load time and performance can dip, which can be frustrating in the middle of work. Another small thing is that with so many extensions available, it’s easy to get lost choosing the right ones—you can spend more time tweaking your setup than actually coding. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I do wish it stayed just as snappy no matter how much I customize it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Visual Studio Code solving and how is that benefiting you?

Visual Studio Code is solving a big problem for me—having to switch between multiple tools for different tasks. Earlier, I needed one app for editing code, another for running a terminal, and yet another for version control. With VS Code, everything lives in one place. I can write, debug, test, and commit code without ever leaving the editor, which saves me a lot of time and mental energy.

It also solves the challenge of working across different languages and frameworks. Whether I’m building a frontend project in React, experimenting with Node.js, or even just editing JSON files, VS Code handles it smoothly. This flexibility means I don’t have to keep learning new tools—I can just focus on the actual work.

The biggest benefit is how it keeps me productive without overwhelming me. It feels like a workspace that grows with me, instead of holding me back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
