Even if you are not a hardcore diagram composer, I would recommend Visio for your corporate needs. It can indeed produce slick, functional diagrams of all types. These can provide the professional look you want for presentations, reports, audits, building plans, floor plans, documentation, and modeling better ways to do things.

What problems is Visio solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a Project Management firm, we were using Balanced Matrix for our project and functional departments. With Visio, we solved the complex hierarchy of our matrix management. Apart from making flow charts, complex organograms, data flow diagrams and data flow diagrams, Visio can pull in live information from Excel sheet or Access database making the diagrams functional and current.
