## Virtuozzo Reviews
  ### 1. Clusterization features offered by Jelastic for our MariaDB instance are superb for Auto-replication

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikitha S. | Cloud Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

We utilize MariaDB-as-a-Service from the Jelastic cloud platform as it doesn't require any deep knowledge for its installation & all its deployments are fully automated.

It effectively eliminates the ris of having downtime through its multi-instance database structure implementations for our demands.

With only a few clicks, we are able to start up with our fully functional MariaDB database which is convenient for us to focus more on working with our customer data rather than worrying about its infrastructure dependencies.

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

Jelastic platform provides crucial functionalities such as cluster management, optimization and auto-replication by default in all the deployments so there's good reliability.

Further, we can also customize our configurations based on our environment specifics in order to make sure that we have the best cluster performance.

Its services excel in cases where associates of our team who are new to cloud database management find the ease to work in its DBaaS platform & make use of its quick deployment solutions for our project requirements.

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jelastic platform benefits our database clusterization to deliver highly loaded production applications that require high data availability & performance.

Configuration of database clusters can be quite challenging as it involves a lot of dependencies and administration but with clustering features offered by Jelastic, we are able to facilitate our deployments without those complexities.

Once when we enable its auto-clustering option, it provides a highly available ProxySQL load balancer for providing high availability, automated cluster replication and cluster isolation.

We can also control the node access with its Shared Load Balancer (SLB) feature as we use external applications and we don't wish to expose our clusters outside our organization for security governance.

  ### 6. Great virtualization platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ghassan A. | Senior Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

The creation of containers for different requirements and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

No major flaws. Overall it's a great platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Virtuozzo:**

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 7. OpenVZ - mostly gets you there

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

Once you get familiar with it, it is a pretty capable and easy to use platform. It allows you to quickly get an overview of how the system in whole is behaving, and to jump into a container causing issues for other containers on the host, and resolve the issue.

The provisioning of the containers is pretty fast, allowing quick delivery time for new clients.

It is a free solution (which allows to ignore some of the potential issues which come with using it).

When setup with a proper backup solution, it becomes a pretty sturdy solution for what it does.

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

Aforementioned "issues for other containers on the host" are the biggest issue - one misbehaving container on the host can cause headache for all other sharing clients, which in worst case scenario makes them regret moving from shared hosting to higher price solution, to again be greeted with the same issues.

High number of active containers on the host can lead to disk IO issues, slowing down all containers.

Occasionally network issues arose (interfaces missing, IPs being lost, connectivity problems).

**Recommendations to others considering Virtuozzo:**

If you are not ready (or finances do not allow) to go with cloud solutions, the containerization which OpenVZ offers is a pretty stable solution, and you might have a pretty good uptime score.

It is worth to take into account the issues which might arise with shared responsibility for the underlying host stability, when you host multiple clients, but with a proper monitoring and backup systems in place you should be ok.

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In what it does it is pretty good - servers are not being underutilized when multiple containers are running on them.

The clients have more freedom in choosing what kind of OS and environment would they like to use.

With SolusVM in the mix the managing and provision of the new containers was a breeze.

  ### 8. Review by Imtiaz on OpenVZ

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

openvz uses less resources as it does not do a complete hardware virtualization like VMware. It acts like a container like LXC. Low overhead.

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

Configuration of hardware resources are cumbersome, specially the container memory params. I had to calculate and understand all those parameters.
More user friendly template based configuration would have helped.

I used to do it few years ago and every time I had to read and understand "Container Memory Parameters".

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using one server hardware to create multiple VM instance per customer. So, they need to be as low resource hungry as possible.
We have achieved quite a bit of VM density with this model.

  ### 9. Great Product, But not keeping up as well with the times

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua B. | Director of Managed Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

Easy all-in-one management, control panel integration

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

Not keeping up with the times of supported OS's etc...

**Recommendations to others considering Virtuozzo:**

Licensing is a pain, but product is still good

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have switched away at this point

  ### 10. Great alternative

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael W. | Trust IT Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

The ability to easily manage and create containers.

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

None, virtuozzo is going to strength to strength.

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storage space saved based on using containers.

  ### 11. Openvz is good tool to manage containers. I highly recommend to others

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

No additional layers in architecture so less resources will be used

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

Manual or customise OS installation not there

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using for Development application on local machine

  ### 12. OPenVZ

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Virtuozzo?**

OpenVZ is more manageable from the back end compared to the other virtualization platforms.

**What do you dislike about Virtuozzo?**

OpenVZ is not efficient isolating the containers from one another.

**Recommendations to others considering Virtuozzo:**

use scripting to manage openvz

**What problems is Virtuozzo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management of OpenVZ where the multiple tenant VMs are running without over consuming the resources.
