Easy to use NPL aids speedy creation of test scripts as does the prompting of syntax. Repeatable test scripts. Reuseable checkpoint libraries will speed up test script creation and maintenance. Realistic, pretend test data accessible via APIs. Well presented and recorded test execution and history showing test coverage. **What do you dislike about Virtuoso QA?** There are some complex areas to navigate, especially within the Advanced Mode, Dev Tools and Inspections functionality. These were covered very quickly in the demos. I had to re-review the course, trial and error to find what I needed or ask the support team, which thankfully were very helpful. The course assumes trainees knowledge of Java. The final module asks the trainees to create goals, journeys and test scripting for any public-facing applications. I tried Tesco's until I got a permission error, then asked support who sent me the opencart.demo to use. I now also have Santander Banking but it would be good to give these and/or other examples rather than always using the rocketshop.virtuoso.qa. What are BDDs? Not in the course however was requested to import them for the final module. Again support provided a couple of these but BDD didn't look how I am used to seeing requirements. **What problems is Virtuoso QA solving and how is that benefiting you?** A repeatable, efficient, comprehensive, standard set of regression test scripts that will provide evidence that testing has been completed successfully or not. With the self-healing feature, we were able to get a framework established to test 13 different domains/languages quite quickly without having any major issues. The speed might be the most surprising part, not just the execution speed, but the speed at which we can develop new scripts. The visual testing capabilities also open up new doors for our automation testing and make our scripts even stronger and better at finding defects. Pair all these features with an incredible team that supports our automation journey every step of the way and it makes the choice of automation tools quite easy. Pick Virtuoso!! **What do you dislike about Virtuoso QA?** The fact that you are unable to share checkpoints across multiple goals is not ideal. 90% of our tests revolve around one functionality, booking a car rental. This means that the entire workflow of renting a car needs to be duplicated across multiple goals which will make maintenance of these checkpoints slightly more time-consuming. Things would be much simpler if I could create the steps in one goal and then access those steps from any goal within the project. Not being able to select specific rows from a test data sheet when executing a journey outside of an execution plan is limiting. There are plenty of instances where I need to make tweaks to a test case due to issues with one or more rows in the test data sheet, and being able to only execute the rows I need to from the journey or goal view would make things much simpler. **What problems is Virtuoso QA solving and how is that benefiting you?** Virtuoso is solving our automation problems. This saves a significant amount of time building tests. The screenshots of failed tests are also extremely helpful when debugging live issues. The user interface is nice although it can be quite hard at times to navigate around when configuring a goal and viewing results of a test. It would be nice to have more basic navigation buttons or breadcrumbs. **What do you dislike about Virtuoso QA?** Not being able to create components of user journeys to reuse is very frustrating. It means having to often repeat the same steps across multiple goals. Probably the biggest issue by far. It would be nice to be able to run multiple goals within a test plan as goals would ideally test a single feature of the system. Regression testing on the platform may require multiple tests to be fired at once. **Recommendations to others considering Virtuoso QA:** Whilst the majority of the core functionality is there, there are still situations that require the support team to aid in overcoming. There are always going to be pain points when developing automation like this, e.g sometimes finding dynamic components is annoyingly difficult, but when isn't it. **Recommendations to others considering Virtuoso QA:** Really understand what you need to automate, speak to the team at virtuoso and iron out an implementation plan. The only minor thing I can think of is that sometimes it's a bit frustrating when using Live Authoring that you have to re-run the test all the time. All responsibility falls on the small team of Engineers. While we already use various other types of testing, we wanted to reduce some of the manual testing overhead and increase our test coverage. Since implementing Virtuoso, we are flagging new issues before they go live and saving time in regression. The natural language syntax it uses for writing tests, along with shared checkpoints and self-healing, means it's easy to write tests and maintain them. You don't need to have coding knowledge which means more people can pitch in and add coverage. I almost forgot the mention the before and after interaction screenshots! You can write tests based on acceptance criteria before the product is built and then just tweak as the product becomes live for effectiveness. It can explore every path on your site to show you every conceivable joruney through your website. The only problem it doesn't solve is world peace, and honestly just set Virtuoso's product engineering team on it and they could probably solve that, too.
