## VirtualBox Reviews
  ### 1. VirtualBox excellent tool for testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angie L. | IT Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox is a virtualization software very easy to use and efficient, with VirtualBox you can create virtual machines from various Operating Systems, you can select the amount of disk, the amount of RAM memory and processor that will be assigned to each machine.

It is an excellent tool if you are testing with new Operating Systems, or simulating IP networks because you can create several virtual machines and run them simultaneously.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

What I don't like about virtualbox is that it has fewer tools than other virtualization software like Hyper-V or VMware.

VirtualBox is used to create virtual test machines, however if you want to create virtual servers to put them into production in the company is preferable to use other more complete virtualization software.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you want to create virtual servers to replace physical servers I recommend that you use more powerful virtualizers so you do not have performance problems

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With VirtualBox I have been able to create virtual machines to perform demos of various operating systems and devices.

VirtualBox is free which makes it accessible to everyone. Another interesting thing is that virtual machines can be migrated very easily, just copy and paste them in their new address, at the time of executing them will work without problems.

Virtual machines created with VirtualBox are very fast so you can run multiple VMs at the same time, this is ideal in a test environment.

  ### 2. Don't put anything at risk

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dayana S. | Abogado, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

The main feature of VirtualBox it's the capability of virtualize and give it a try to any environment or os without putting in risk any of your documents. It have a huge number of collaborators around the world who are constantly adding new features, improving the existing ones and support to new distros and os.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

Like i said, with VirtualBox you can try different os without risk but in exchange you have to give up a lot of resources, because the consumption of this tool sometimes can be huge and if you don't have a big specs pc the differents machines won't work correctly. Also the graphic aspect needs a wash and renew urgently, it looks outdated.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

This tool is excellent for educational purposes and for try codes, distros, os. Virtualize is a no time and a easy job with this software, this its the best and most known software of its type for a reason, it's so easy to use, gives you a lot of oportunities to users, count with many colaborators and the best part it's that it's free. And you don't put anything at risk.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VirtualBox came to solve my both problems, the business one and the personal one, for one hand i use VirtualBox almost daily to test the code that I develop, i really thank god and the VirtualBox guys every day, fr give me the chance to try my codes in a virtual environment without the risk of mess the thing off. And for the other hand, because i really love to try every new distro i foun.

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

It is an application that I use frequently to obtain virtual equipment within the same computer, this makes it easier for me to test operating systems that are suitable for office equipment, also, it allows me to test drivers so as not to damage equipment when updating them and so, We can implement improvements.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

The bad thing about using virtual box is that we need to have a large capacity of hard disk and ram so that the virtual operating system can run perfectly without errors or problems, since in the long run it can end up damaging the equipment that is being used at the time.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

It is a free program that can be used in desktop computers and laptops, also allows great functionality with other software of the same type! It is very easy to use.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to implement it on my computer and with colleagues, it has helped me solve problems about knowing if I can use a more advanced operating system or if something works, it is really very useful since it allows to have several instances of windows on a single computer.

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

First of all it is a free and open source software, with a simple and intuitive graphical interface that has the versatility of running on multiple platforms and operating systems.
The Snapshot tool is one of the most useful of the virtualizer, you can save the state of a machine at any specific time and being able to return to it whenever you want, this is very effective if you want to try, let's say a new software, first you save the state of the VM using the snapshot, then install the software, configured, test it and if there is any problem, you can use the snapshot that you created to return to the state in which the VM was before the installation of the program.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

When it comes to the management of the ip's pool of the dhcp server the software falls a little bit short, the release times of IP gets messed up, lost of connections with the virtual adapters is a constant problem with some of the OS on the market.
Another thing to point out is that the support for 3D graphics is not as good as other virtualization engines, which can be a problem if you are an advance user that needs all of the extra power the 3D engine can provide.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you are a novice-medium user and you need to test a program with inside of a specific operating system, Virtualbox is the option to choose, the simplification of configurations that made for the user makes it a very attractive option to test different types of software in an safe and controlled environment.
Since it is an open source software, the support it has for the community is huge, almost any problem that may appear in your way you will definitely find a solution with some clicks on the internet.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed to test a content management system (CMS) within a web server with specific configurations in a RedHat operating system. The ability to import an ISO and configure the virtual machine to suit my needs saved me a lot of time and troubleshooting with hardware compatibility , drivers, I/O devices that can happens installing an OS directly on your daily use host.

  ### 16. Amazing for program testing and preventing viruses

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex A. | Group CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox is great for testing programs. This is great for testing the performance of Java programs on lower end PCs. The best feature is that you can customize the amount of RAM and storage you allocate to the virtual machine. The program supports many different operating systems and you can easily install that with a .iso.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox can be laggy even when you allocate tons of storage, RAM, and cores. The mouse is controls are always delayed a little bit, same with the keyboard controls. The setup process isn't easy and does take a tutorial.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

VirtualBox is great for testing new programs and determining whether programs are optimized and cut out for low end computers. We prefer VirtualBox over any other virtual machine provider. Give VirtualBox a try, it is great.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

VirtualBox allows us to test our programs to ensure that they work as well with low end computers. We can also test other programs we are sent to modify to test if they contain any viruses or malware. One benefit of VirtualBox is that we don't have to pay a monthly fee for a virtual private server.

  ### 17. VirtualBox

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikita P. | freelance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

What I like most about Virtual Box is being able to create multiple virtual machines with different operating systems within my host computer. It is very easy to use and also free. It has nothing to envy from other solutions like VMware.

Additionally, it is possible to create multiple virtual machines with different operating systems, whether for practice or testing, or to have them in production working in a real way. The great advantage of doing it this way is that having virtual environments allows saving energy and hardware costs, since by running on a single real machine, the consumption will be much smaller.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

The worst thing about Virtual Box is that having multiple virtual machines running at the same time consumes a lot of resources from the real or host machine. You will need a lot of RAM and a good processor to be able to perform correct simulations. To be able to use copy-paste for both text and files from the host machine to the virtual one requires a somewhat tedious process of installing the Virtual Tools on the virtual machines to enable it.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

Highly recommended, it is free, easy to handle, and very useful for running multiple operating systems on the same machine.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our workplace, Virtual Box has become a very important program, as we use it to practice creating domains with Windows Server and several connected clients, all simulated from Virtual Box without having to resort to real environments, which would be more costly and laborious.

  ### 18. Virtual Machines in a simple application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** naveen k. | Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox is one of the best ways to play with operating systems. This saves you from having to buy an expensive computer that has a particular OS. It's free for anyone to use, and it is supported on many operating systems like MacOS, Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, etc.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

As a techie, there is nothing to hate about Virtualbox. It is the ultimate way to play with different operating systems locally. Running operating systems as a file in virtualbox makes it easy to go back to your original operating system in case you're multitasking.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you want to try different operating systems for fun, use Virtualbox. It is the best tool that is opens ou

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used this tool to experiment with different operating systems. For a techie like myself, I usually play with Ubuntu. Virtualbox has zero hassles in integrating different operating systems. I can mix different operating systems like Android in Virtualbox. The fact that it is free and open source makes it accessible and reachable to millions of people.

  ### 19. VirtualBox - My review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Detlef W. | Geschäftsführer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox is a program that allows you to create virtual containers on which you can run your chosen operating system. The main advantage is the fact that VirtualBox allows us to virtualize cross-platform virtualization so that on the selected system we can run the selected system (for example, on Windows we can run Linux). Another advantage is the fact that VirtualBox enables us to fully support the virtual system, including support for USB and iSCSI devices. It is worth mentioning that VirtualBox is isolated from the kernel of the main system so that editing the virtual system does not affect the main system, so we can investigate what impact the program has on the operating system.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

One of the drawbacks that I noticed is that some Linux systems running on VirtualBox have a problem with drivers for AMD graphics cards.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you are looking for a solution that will enable you to run a virtual system, you should consider trying out VirtualBox now, especially since this program is available completely free of charge.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By using VirtualBox on my computer I can run the chosen operating system to test the product, so I save on the purchase of VPS.

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox, is the tool that I have found so far the most effective with respect to home virtual machines it seems. It allows you to take different types of virtual machines and store them inside a single container, what I like is that it does not weigh much and additionally allows you to turn on several PCs at the same time. At the time of including all the parameters of resources of the prinicipal hardware is not oriented to stay hung

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

Of the tool, the only thing I do not like are its advanced functions, nor is it the tool of the century. However, if it helps to carry out the work but with certain functions. Additional that is installed correctly. It does not work in its entirety

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

I recommend, as I said, the tool is demand in this regard to create new configurations of virtual machines to perform in the environment where you are.

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox is my favourite tool I use to virtualise operating systems, and it allows me to test applications on different operating systems before implementing them. It is worth mentioning the fact that VirtualBox can work well between the host system and the virtual gives us the ability to copy files which is very useful and the ability to move the virtual machine to the memory so that we can move our virtual system to the workplace without losing the configuration.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

- A problem during installation of some operating systems.

- Problem with the sound drivers/USB 2. 0

- We need to enable virtualisation in BIOS.

- It can put a significant burden on weaker equipment.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you want to test another operating system or check the application before deploying it, you should consider choosing a VirtualBox, because it will allow you to test the chosen system without interfering with the files.

Virtual box is a free application and saves you the cost of running operating systems on different computers

  ### 26. Create Virtual machines of every OS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John C. | Web Designer, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

The possibility of configuring virtual machines as if they were physical equipment so that a USB memory connected in the Host OS can be redirected to the virtual machine and make it function as a USB in a native way, this applies to any type of device that uses a USB connection.

Also the possibility of installing the application in any operating system as it supports Windows, Linux or MacOS and in terms of virtualized systems it is possible to emulate even Android and iOS mobile devices. It is also possible to import or export the HDDs of each virtual machine of other people and use them as their own, thus facilitating the need to install from the beginning.

The application technically is not very attractive but works as expected without any type of bug or serious failure that prevents the installation or reproduction of the virtual machine even when using little known systems or recent implementation such as mobile devices.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

- The interface as well as the organization of the options could be improved, sometimes one must search long before finding what you are looking for.
- Many options that are not well understood what is their function so one should waste time trying one by one that makes each of these options.
- It would be very useful to be able to do without the VirtualBoxGuestAdditions and that these were installed by default in the virtualbox kernel.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

There is only one alternative to VirtualBox and as far as I know, it is necessary to pay for the application, I think this is enough reason for you to end up using VirtualBox but if it is not enough, you should know that this application is a pioneer in the world of Virtualization and manages each OS as if they were a real and physical equipment so the emulation is 100% accurate with what you find on any desktop or mobile.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a graphic designer of interfaces I sometimes work designing UI for Android and iOS and I need to test how they are in the device, so I turn to VirtualBox to virtualize these mobile operating systems and check how my UI works.

Offers the same feature set as early versions of VMware Workstation - with none of the accompanying licensing costs.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

As industry will seemingly never reflect the lessons learned from past efforts it was... disappointing... to note that interoperable file formats (and standards) took many years to arrive.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

Weigh the merits of a local distribution v/s a "cloud-based" configuration (e.g. standard AWS image) & plan to revisit the decision as factors change...

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standardizing a software configuration (consisting of complex, layered technologies - e.g. operating system, application server, browser, programming language/platform, etc.) for distribution to students can assure minimal difficulty with distractions & a maximal chance to learn.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

At my discretion, there was absolutely nothing that I did not like, on the contrary it has very good features and above all it is free software. the only thing that to be able to execute this application I recommend that you have a minimum of 2 Gb of ram so that it can be executed without any problem

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

very good tool to learn especially the installation of an operating system and its configuration also has an operating system inside your pc without restarting the computer you can open it and enjoy it with different configurations that adapt to the requirements of your pc what It is advisable to have a good RAM and a hard disk of good capacity so that you can work in sets both system

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

Easy to install with clear instructions. Open source and compatible with Ubuntu and Windows. For a single machine, runs fine.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

Cannot function properly with multiple Virtual Machines running at the same time. Do not like the interface. Not a big community forum available for support.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you are looking for something which is free and opensource, go for VirtualBox

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Used to install Kali Linux to perform penetration testing techniques on college websites and domains facing publicly. Checked for malware and bugs encountered in these websites.

Benefits of using Virtualbox over VMware is basically it is opensource and faster and not very heavy on the host computer. I could create a virtual environment for malware testing using the platform which would otherwise be harmful to run on the host machine.

  ### 30. All you requirement for virtualize your Operating System!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando T. | programador digital, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

I imagine that Virtual Box t is the best instrument for virtualizing working frameworks! Actually, as indicated by me, it is quick, simple to setup and with numerous customizations alternatives!

It's totally free, it is prompt to utilize just select the iso of the Operating System you need to virtualize, and VirtualBox will do all the rest!

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

I would prefere a superior User Interfarce, the present one is somewhat Spartan and frequently difficult to comprehend (it could be better composed and better overseen).

I detest the reality you have to download additional product (Guest-option) for oversee fundamental highlights like the full-screen alternative. On specific linux distro, Guest Additions don't work by any stretch of the imagination, and you have to blast your head a ton (with instructional exercise, gathering, and so on) to attempt make them work!

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Virtual Box enabled us to virtualize all Operating System that we need, liberating ourselves from the heaviness of introduce them on our pc. Time is cash and virtualbox has enabled us to spare a ton of cash. If there should arise an occurrence of issues, infections, and so on, with two or three ticks you can return to the past circumstance without stressing over designing, cleaning and so on.

  ### 31. Virtualize every OS with VirtualBox

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theresa H. | Software Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

I work from home as a freelancer and VirtualBox allows me to separate my work system with the OS that I have for personal use. In my work environment, that is, my virtual machines (I use more than one), I can test all the applications that I program by submitting them to different environments (Windows and Linux mainly).

The best thing about VirtualBox for me has been:

- Unlimited number of virtual machines (or as many as your HDD and RAM allow you)
- Multi platform application with support for Windows, Mac and Linux
- Support for USB rewrite (connect USB to your real machine and redigire the device to a virtual one)
- VirtualBox supports external plugins
- It supports every OS existing including old ones like MS-DOS

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

What I do not like is that Virtualbox does not limit your RAM consumption so that many times if you are not careful you will find that your computer and virtual machines are blocked and you must restart your computer.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

I recommend VirtualBox if you want to run different operating systems without having to leave your host system. If you have doubts you should know that VirtualBox is totally free.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed to keep my personal and work environment separate since I need to install many applications to work that are useless to me in the personal environment and with VirtualBox solve this. In addition VirtualBox is a free program.

Its my go-to software when ever I need virtualized OS, its easy to manage and configure. I usually import new vms from OVA of previously created vms and its quick as snapping finger. Another thing of Virtualbox advantage is its free and continuously evolving with new plugins and support.

It also support for other Virtualization technology like Vagrant is a plus plus for me.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

At times USB mounting become headache. other than that I don't think of any other issue.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

Its a best Virtualization software available, give it a try at least.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed vm for testing, deploying builds. Mostly builds required certain pair of application which required Linux OS, So a vm is the only option and Virtual box was our 1st choice.

Internal labs to investigate malware behaviour

  ### 34. VirtualBox, test your software in different environments.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominic D. | Software Engineer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

What we like most about virtualbox is that we can test the software we develop in our business for our clients in different operating systems quickly and safely because VirtualBox perfectly emulates all operating systems (and it supports all of them).

In addition VirtualBox is a free and open source solution backed by Oracle, also offers additional plugins that add extra functionality. We need USB 3.0 devices support in one of the virtual machines and it worked perfectly.

VirtualBox also offers a multi-platform environment with support for Windows, Linux and MAC. It is also updated constantly.

Other features:
- Very mature application which makes it very stable (It has never crashed)
- It's very fast
- Free, Open source and with a large community behind that supports it
- Snapshots support
- You can share the installation with other people as it allows you to import and export the virtual machines.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

There is a problem with the Linux version and it is that it requires an additional package called "Virtual Box Guest Additions" that adds features such as improved screen resolution and full screen but as I say, in linux sometimes it does not work properly and you have to Do some extra configuration. Because it is a known problem one can find help on the internet.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you need to virtualize operating systems VirtualBox does it perfectly and also does it for free unlike its competition.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a quick way to test in the software that our company develops for different operating systems and VirtualBox gives us a convenient, fast and free solution. Thanks to VirtualBox we no longer have to compile our software, copy it to USB and take it to another computer, with VB the software can be tested in the same machine in where it is developed.

  ### 35. A pentester's best friend!

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

If you're a penetration tester, VirtualBox is your best friend! I can easily create VMs to emulate targets and test payloads. I can also use the virtual machines for analyzing malware and their behavior. This would be impossible without VMs. And the best part is, VirtualBox is free!

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

I wish VirtualBox had a command line interface, so I could automate some of the virtual machine configuration.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With VirtualBox I can easily create VMs to test exploits and payloads.

  ### 36. Incredibly powerfull, yet free and opensource

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel T. | Programmer/Developer/Tech support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

VirtualBox is the Go-to software, when it comes to VM creation and configuration. It's easy, lightweight, and with A TON of features. It allows you to create VMs and configure them individually or by groups, import and export VMs, take and manage snapshots, among other configurations.

It also includes support for most Virtualization technology, like Intel Hyper-V, AMD-V, etc.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

The fact that the updates are too frequently. It would be better if they do like a rolling release for the bug fixes, and major release for the functionality updates. However, since it's a opensource application, it's understandable.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

Consider VirtualBox if you need a fast way to create VMs, and need to deploy them fast. Also be aware that, to get better performance, use a CPU that has proper support for virtualization, and a decent amount of RAM memory, since the guest systems are feed from the host system resources.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need of computers with mostly low level hardware (Low core count, <2GB ram). The biggest benefit is that, with one single computer of medium specs, we where able to deploy 4 VMs with more than enough capacity for the required task.

  ### 37. Everything you need to do software testing in a single workstation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

What I like most is that tool is free, easy to use and functional. These characteristics is what makes software distinguish from other similar ones. I also want to highlight its functions, such as: It allows installing virtually any operating system such as Linux, Android, Mac OS X, Windows, Chrome OS, etc; unlike others in the market.

It is extremely easy to create an environment for testing of all kinds. In this way we will easily obtain a test environment completely isolated from the rest of the systems.

Virtual machines and virtualization allow to use a single service per virtualized server easily and simply. In this way, even if one of the virtualized servers is dropped, the other will continue to work. Finally, the fact of virtualizing servers or operating systems can mean significant savings in maintenance and energy consumption.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

Directly on the software, I could not say that there is something that I do not like, it is quite efficient. The issue is, we must have a computer or workstation that is powerful, since, if we use 2 operating systems simultaneously we are using twice as many resources. In addition, it is also possible that sometimes operating systems and programs will run slower in virtual machines. This is because the virtual machines can not get an ideal performance of the hardware that we have in our team. The more powerful our computer is, the less you will notice the loss of performance.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

Nice free virtual machine tool to keep my primary workstation from getting too "cluttered"

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use VirtualBox almost daily to test the code that I develop. It is very useful to try your codes in a virtual environment before sending them to production, Specially if you are a linux user a need to test code on windows.

  ### 38. VirtualBox, Any OS you need

**Reviewed by:** Roberto G. | Software Programmer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2019

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

The installation of VirtualBox in Linux that is my main work environment is very simple under archlinux since I only have to execute a simple command to install the application, it does not consume too many resources unless you assign excess RAM to the virtual machines.

It is very easy to use virtual machines with internet access since VirtualBox configures us almost everything to work as if it were newly installed in a physical computer. The only thing that we must manually install in certain occasions are the additional drivers for the implementation of application that use 3D video. Finally the best of the application is everything it offers without asking anything in return, since the application is free.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

The only thing I do not like about the application is that by default it has activated the notifications that appear every time you start a virtual machine and that these notifications are really very annoying. Although it is possible to deactivate them manually I think that this option should be disabled by default.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

If you are looking for an application to virtualize operating systems that is free and multi platform, VirtualBox is your option because besides being one of the most popular applications of this type it has a lot of development time so it is very stable nowadays.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using VirtualBox to test applications in different operating systems since the projects we develop are usually multi-platform applications, so we need to test the applications in all the environments that the client needs.

**What do you like best about VirtualBox?**

Virtual Box is a software that, after its installation and enabling the corresponding option in your computer's BIOS, will allow you to enjoy the possibility of having several simulated machines with any operating system on a real machine, as long as you have an image of it and install it correctly. We could have different versions of Windows, Linux, etc., running in a different Microsoft environment. The advantages of virtual machines are numerous, among the main ones are:
- Create test environments with different operating systems from the original.
- Create independent and secure spaces. What happens in one will not affect another.
- Cost and energy savings, since if you want to have a server in Linux and another in Windows, instead of buying two machines and maintaining them, you only have to worry about the original machine.
Additionally, Virtual Box is cross-platform and free.

**What do you dislike about VirtualBox?**

The worst thing about VirtualBox is that it requires a significant investment in high-end hardware if you want the simulated machines we are going to create to function efficiently, and even then, they will never work like real ones. But this is another issue, it's not VirtualBox's fault, the program is excellent.

**Recommendations to others considering VirtualBox:**

Virtual Box is free, intuitive, and with multiple options that will make the art of creating virtual machines a completely positive experience.

**What problems is VirtualBox solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Virtual Box as a teaching and learning method because it is free and very useful for showing students how a Windows server works with multiple clients, using domains and active directory. Something that would be completely impossible to analyze in a real environment and thanks to virtual machines is very simple.
