Virtual patching is the practice of protecting a vulnerable application from exploitation without applying the vendor patch; Mimic's Virtual Patching does it by enforcing the application's known-good baseline at the kernel, so a zero-day is covered with no prior knowledge of the exploit and no vendor fix, and systems patching can't reach are covered the same way.
