direct integration with Cox auto products

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good CRM and mining tool

  ### 2. Taking a picture of license and populates all info into crm

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Sales Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

When you download the app onto your phone you can take a picture of the clients license front and back to insert them into the crm system. The competitors out there have a much better system that focuses more on reaching out to the clients.

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

I feel the email templates that are on this system should be updated properly. I do not like the unmatched inbox I feel the system should look for similar emails. Many imporovements should be made where there should be more contact on clients birthdays.

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

Go see what systems are out there before comiting I'm sure there are better systems out there. Which will benefit your business. If you are using from your phone you do not need to manually enter clients if they have a license on them. Which also will show a picture from them and you can print in the future.

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits I have realized are being able to use my crm system from just about anywhere on my phone. I am a bit more productive because I can work from anywhere. I have realized that I can scan a vin number of a vehicle right from my phone and it will populate into the system.

  ### 3. Works better than some, but not the best for R&R

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Garry K. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2020

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

The general flow of the CRM process for this works well enough. Printing forms is pretty straightforward and the uptime of the software has been pretty good. A big key to how well this software will work for you is how much time you devote to getting the initial setups done correctly.

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

The way VIN Solutions handles email is pretty annoying. If you want your sales staff to have a functional email for "normal" use, then you're going to have to jump through some hoops to make that happen. The email client (very weak interpretation of an email solution) that's built into this software is a hassle to use to attach documents to, or view attachments. You'll want to maintain whatever you're currently using for an email solution in addition to what's in this software. In our case, I have our sales staff's primary domain email set to forward to a subdomain on another one of our domains which is the subdomain each of my stores in VINS are setup to use as their VINS email domains. (initial setup is messy) The added wrinkle to doing this is, VINS email is mainly setup to receive leads. So all emails that come into a salesperson's account, go into a "unmatched inbox" that everyone in the store can see. If the email is from that salespersons customer it will go to the salesperson as well. Yes, you read that correctly, anyone who has their email routing into VINS will have their email visible to everyone else in that store in VINS. It's an awful way of handling email and my suggestions to correct it have falled on deaf ears with support. R&R Contact Management's email actually functions like you would expect, at least in terms of john@dealer.com's email goes to John's email within Contact Management and no one else can see it except administrators. This email issue isn't really enough to NOT use VINS but it is something to consider in the bigger picture. Another issue you'll have if you have Reynolds as your DMS provider is the integration into R&R. VINS currently has an issue with pushing customers into the DMS correctly. We see a stream of duplicate customers coming into our DMS namefile regularly and even with name file services trying to clean them it's still a mess. We are a 9 store group with centralized accounting and while VINS is trying to build themselves up to be a large group player, they're really not quite there yet. Contact Management does a MUCH better job with Reynolds since it's their product. Also user management is a breeze with Contact Management compared to VIN Solutions. We allow our sales staff to cross sell at any of our other stores and this creates headaches in VINS when/if staff leaves. You have to go in and out of each store to redistribute their clients. (as opposed to Contact Management where you can do it all on the same screen) Once you do it 30+ times you realize how much of a pain it is in VINS. In our case, our sales managers across the group prefer VINS for the things they use it for so we have stayed with it.

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

Weigh out how important full integration vs partial/hostile integration to your DMS is to you and your company. Unless you have Dealertrack DMS, you won't have full integration with VINS, and at best you'll have close to full integration with CDK. With Reynolds it will be a hostile integration with them and it's 1 way on names, so your updates in R&R won't push back to VINS to correct issues.

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping sales staff manage their clients and start to build deals. It also will show the customer's "value" (ie: how much they've bought with the company) and that can help give staff a better picture of who they're dealing with. Their mobile app integration with VAUTO is a very nice bonus and our stores use it extensively. Also the built in call/text tracking on their mobile app helps us retain customers when staff leaves and also gives us a paper trail for the interactions.

  ### 4. Car industry been using VinSolutions for about a year

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles M. | Sales, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2019

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

I like how easy it is to print different forms

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

If you add a customer and their name is even close to another name already in the system, you have to get manager approval to actually add the new customer which can be a pain at times.

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

Its a decent program but my favorite is Dealer.com which I used at another company

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its just an easy way to keep track of calls I need to make and

  ### 5. kind of buggy out dated interface

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2018

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

unlimited contacts and easy to set tasks and appointments

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

the prospect area is cluttered and not easy to find. Im Not sure where to start besides the app on the phone is buggy and the website is worse. loading names is not great and it is always down when you need it. The updates are not enough to notice for novice users and doesn't add much for advanced users also.

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

be aware of the bugs

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

to expand my pipeline is a plus but falls short on finding the prospect faster and has alot of issues with duplicates and adding info in. also the email portion is spotty at best and a mess when it comes to origination. Overall it is a meh and would not recommend over other options.

  ### 6. vinsolutions

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2018

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

it stores everything you need and every employee can make notes on customers. it also has a lot of helpful settings.

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

the server goes down a lot and it does not record a lot of things accurately. When I worked as a service BDC in a car dealership it never recorded the amount of calls I made properly.

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

If you need some thing basic it is great. but if you need some thing complex and on point every day its not great. I would get in trouble a lot because this system did not record my calls properly. and the customer support team never resolved the issue.

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

if a customer calls in when their salesperson is not working, other people can check notes to get info on the customer.

  ### 7. Convenient, but buggy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2018

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

I like that I can access my account anywhere and use a mobile app.

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

How often the system crashes, the inability to input own templates.

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

Do your research

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can't think of any problems. The biggest benefit is convenience.

  ### 8. Great for CRM and useful in maintaining contact with clients

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2018

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

I like the systems ease of use and ability to push messaging to contacts. I like the ability to receive notifications from the system directly.

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

As an industry specific CRM it does not have some of the functionality other broader CRM systems have such as elaborate workflows and intergrations that would automate a lot of my tasks.

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software helped us more away from paper management of clients take and to a paperless system and automated a lot of functions we were doing previously by hand. It actually helped reduce paperwork time significantly.

  ### 9. Customer service with ease

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2018

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

The ability to find a customer, all the communications were listed so we could solve any issues that came up

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

The system would once and a while crash and our entire operations would be down but that was rare on occasion

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

Find search query tricks and shortcuts, saves time on searching for customers and their information

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to easily communicate within the company made our lives easier. We had such an easy way of communicating to one another with all the visual communication trails

  ### 10. Easy to use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2018

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

Hard to follow. Follow up sometimes are duplicates and difficult to close a lead

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Na

  ### 11. Overall Good Software, but lacking some major components

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2018

**What do you like best about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

The website application is overall easy to utilize. Offers call tracking. Some good reports. Lots of customization for the sales processes. Easy to send email campaigns or task campaigns.

**What do you dislike about VinSolutions Connect CRM?**

Mobile app is clunky. Hard to really accurately target your email campaigns without the add-on data mining upgrade. Integration when pushing information to CDK from desking can be frustrating (taxes, accessories, etc.) Pushes to Dealertrack when a Company or Co-buyer is on the deal is frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering VinSolutions Connect CRM:**

When setting up Vin, be sure to work with the set-up team with all your desking add-on codes for your CRM so they accurately push.

**What problems is VinSolutions Connect CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking customer contact from our sales department. Sending marketing campaigns. Sales processes. Finance Desking.
