## Vista Reviews
  ### 1. VP is easy to work with for cost/job accounting.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mining & Metals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Robust online help section and user intuitive. Easily handles multiple job functions and large equipment assets.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

So-so reporting, and it can be difficult to get data out in a meaningful way without using 3rd party software. There is also a big push to move to the cloud - which isn't practical for my organization.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Vista to keep track of job costs and equipment costs among our 5 quarry locations. We are able to view costs both at a high level and down to the nitty gritty.

  ### 2. Viewpoint - a true construction software solution and a great partner!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Craig L. | Finance Director/Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

They have many of the features and software functions that we need and love to use, however, when they don't have the answers and solutions we want, they work with us until we do!

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

It used to be customer service response time, but that has improve tremendously. Their TEAM offering is improving but still lags behind the competition.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

It is very affordable and feature rich. They know the construction industry very well and are on the leading edge of future technology and trends.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All aspects of construction - project management and financial controls.
More productivity, faster scalable implementation to support growth, better controls, more profitable

  ### 3. Viewpoint makes my accounting processes easier and more organized.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Viewpoint covers all aspects of our construction industry and provides us with flexibility across departments. The upsides of Viewpoint are that we are able to customize and create our own reports and have easy access to all of our accounting processes. I find Viewpoint to be a very user friendly product, with most of the programs requiring minimal training to learn how to use.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The least helpful aspect about Viewpoint is their customer service. Viewpoint's customer service is very slow as it sometimes takes days for someone to call me back about an issue I had. The Knowledge Base option on Clearview is good for some solutions, however there are many times where I won't see any solution for the issue that I have.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Viewpoint has made my work a lot easier, as it allows my to just utilize one piece of software to get most of my work done, rather than how I previously had to jump between 3 different types of software to do my job sometimes. One of the benefits of Viewpoint is that they are continuously looking to improve their product and are always open to customer suggestions.

  ### 4. Flexibility to work with your Businiess Processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve B. | Sr. Business Systems Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Many integrated tools serving needs of all levels of users. The ability to configure the system to our own busiiness requirements allows us to work the way our business demands rather than changing our business to meet the requiremenst of a software package.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Conversion to new licensing model took a while and was a bit of a struggle coming from grandfathered individual product licensing. In the long run, Viewpoint One licensing will be easier to manage.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Determine what are the requirements of your business, and then talk to Viewpoint to see how Vista can support that. Plan time to review all the capabilities in a testing environment. Spending time learning the capabilities allows for much better efficiency in what you implement.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting data from the field in a timely basis. This improves workflow, keeps more people informed of project status, and better documents changes on the project, which helps to justify change orders.

  ### 5. Sophisticated software that meets many of our requirements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Braxton T. | Accounting Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that I have the ability to pull reports on just about any set of data that I require. And if there isn't an exact report that fits my exact needs, I have the ability to create a custom report that does.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

It can be difficult at times to have functionality and usability improvements implemented. I believe that Viewpoint tries to listen to issues that many customers are having but smaller issues that are more isolated sometimes have difficulty gaining traction. This can require the use of other software or custom programming.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Ask to speak with a current user of Vista. Viewpoint will facilitate the meeting and many questions and concerns can be answered.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista has helped us grow as a company. Vista is engineered to accommodate high volumes of transactions between customers and vendors.

  ### 6. Horrible HR Module

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I do not like anything about Vista by Viewpoint.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Everything. It is very clunky. It is not user friendly and you can't store everything you need in there. To get a report is a daunting task. To scroll through screens is horrible. It just is not worth it. At least not the HR side of it.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Make sure you truly understand what you need. Vista will say they can provide it, but their software is still very old. They have not kept up with the change in technology.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not solving anything with Vista at this point. It only created more work.

  ### 7. Construction Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek M. | Student, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The ability to keep track of what's going on in the field where I work in the office. It's also great how interactive the developers at vista are with their customers.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There are so many different elements to it that I can't keep up with all of them. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, it can just seem a little over whelming at times.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a lot more frequent communication with the people in the field, making work more effective when we cut down on time waiting for responses.

  ### 8. Over 25 years with Viewpoint and Vista

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Our company has been with the company since it was Bidtek. that is over 25 years. when it was updated to a windows based platform was a good day. i like how functions similar to excel and word have been incorporated. i can customize my forms to make my data entry quicker and easier. We are now in the cloud and i don't have to think about server updates.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

When i purchased the HR module. i was given not support. i had to set it up all myself. to this day i feel I am not receiving the full benefit of the entire module.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Payroll runs smoothly. I have it fine tuned it with a checklist and if i have an issue it is usually because i have skipped a step.

  ### 9. Solid Construction Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcelo A. | Chief Financial Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The ability to work easily between modules. The search capabilities as well as the exporting abilities of all data.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The one drawback that Vista does have is in the Project Management modules. It has separate modules for Subcontracts and Purchase Orders, requiring additional steps which would be eliminated if the Project Management module was all inclusive. Right now its clunky to operate efficiently.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Vista is probably the leader in the construction software industry. It has always grown by acquisitions, which sometimes have replaced older versions of Vista for improvements. It has many great features and they have been innovative in their progress.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We love having the day to day data in our hands at any time. The updated information is crucial to meeting project budgets and deadlines. We have been able to have much more viable financial data across all fields of work.

  ### 10. Customization and flexibility for any construction business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darrell R. | Payroll/GL Accountant, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Want to break a project into multiple jobs and sub-jobs, and still have phase code-level detail? Want to have different pay rates - such as part-time foreman pay - on specific jobs and shifts? Vista can handle these types of flexibility and more. Having the ability to be so flexible allows for that inevitable "we never anticipated needing this info, but can you figure out how to get it?" that comes along eventually, for every business. And to be able to do it within the system, rather than dumping data into Excel and manually re-inventing the wheel saves so much time.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There seems to be a lot of critics of Vista, which I do not understand. It's not Quickbooks - it is much more complex of a tool than what some may be used to. But in the right hands, with the right level of vision and understanding, Vista can be a great tool that helps businesses to grow by uncovering areas of inefficiency.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Consider the 30,000 foot view of what you want from your accounting software. Vista may not do it exactly as what you are used to, but it can get to the same place in the end - financials, job cost reports, etc.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have increased the employee's visibility into their payroll records, with timecards and pay stubs for past periods always available. We have decreased the amount of payroll processing time via the KeyStyle additions.

  ### 11. Great HR Management and Field Management Tools

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that it is works well. I especially love what used to be called Keystyle. It is now Vista HR Management and HR Field Management. It includes an employee portal, a way to build online forms, and also you can do your whole hire process through the HR Vista Management Portal. We love that these tools are directly linked to Vista so there is no syncing or waiting for data to be uploaded. These tools are modern and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Vista works well; however, there are a lot of old fashioned type processes such as posting batches. I dislike that payroll has too many steps including posting as a batch every single change that is made.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Vista does work well and can be integrated with other products. The HR and Field Modules are wonderful, modern, and work very well.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us reduce paper and increase productivity and efficiency. We use the HR and Field Management Module for many things including online applications, pre-employment, and hiring process.

  ### 12. Strong Product that seems to be improving

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

This is something that has only changed in the last year, but the Viewpoint Support has become one of my favorite parts of VP. Support requests are handled promptly, there is a good knowledge database to access, and the chat support for quick solutions and ticket escalations is excellent.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

It seems that the product is only going to be advancing on the cloud side vs the on-premise side. I wish more features were included standard.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

We've evaluated other products on a routine basis and haven't come across anything that would suit us better with how we currently operate. What I mean is, there are other products that might have some desirable new features, but the core product hasn't been as strong as Vista.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is primarily used as our accounting platform. Vista makes it easy to access your data, so the biggest benefit is being able to access and create reports based on our data.

  ### 13. Vista

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that Vista is easy to use, has lots of help information on fields, is customizable and it's always being updated. You can offer enhancement requests and have other vote on them and Viewpoint is always looking at those. The support team is there to help with any issues they you may be having. Viewpoint also offers a wonderful annual conference to keep you updated on where they are taking their products in the future.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Some of the reporting isn't where it needs to be but we are able to create our own custom reports for this. Also, the Service Management module needs to also be able to run more like a small job cost area in regards to reporting. The HR module could also be enhanced more and the leave process could be enhanced as well.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We like that we are now only using the reporting in the system. In our old software we had a lot of access databases that were providing the reports. Here you can get real time information as soon as costs are posted. Our project managers are in the system being able to access their own data at any moment. Keeps them on top of their projects.

  ### 14. I've been using Vista for 11 years and I'm still learning

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Clearview and the Knowledge Base have been so helpful. When I first started using it, you had to just try everything out and learn from your mistakes.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

All the modules are connected so employees should have training in all the modules used because if you do something in one module, you don't know the impact you are making in another. It can be hard to find what is wrong but again the Knowledge Base can help. The search on the Knowledge Base needs improvement though, too many returns on specific error messages.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Being able to use it from anywhere will be so great. We will be upgrading to Viewpoint One soon so being able to access it from home will be super.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can pretty much use it for everything you need for your business but you have to learn all those modules to implement them and it's a lot to learn.

  ### 15. Good but a lot of work can be done

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sameer S. | Associate Application Specialist, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

It's pretty User-friendly, there's a variety of reports. New reports can be make by making adjustments to the ones already in place. Customizable modules are great too. Customer service is also amazing and always get back to me when I need them.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Sometime, the issues are not solved as quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

You have to be patient and it can do wonders for you

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to locate the information needed by our receiving and warehouse easily you don’t need to be a genius to use it cuts down time because I can ask the warehouse person to use this program while I do other things

  ### 16. Vista Viewpoint is so easy to use day in and day out.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting, project management, etc

  ### 18. G2 Crowd Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Engaging Software that allows you to use all its tools to maximize the information needed

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

User Interface feels dated, needs a Vista Interface reboot.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost Analysis, love the drill-downs and the flexibility of information they provide

  ### 19. Integration at its finest

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is a fantastic tool to integrate all aspects of the necessary software for the construction industry. The accessibility from any mobile device allows our field staff to easily access all facets of their projects and invoices so accounting and field can now stay connected to keep the budget in line.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Sometimes the training can be cumbersome for new hires but customer service is always right there to help.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Go with the whole package including Keystyle. You will not regret it.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to go virtually paperless in accounting and HR. The streamlined processes and easy to use interface helps to keep human error down when onboarding new employees.

  ### 20. Vista software for General Contractor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The ability to do all of my weekly meeting tasks in one piece of software. This includes RFIs, Submittals, CORs and Meeting Minutes. It's basically a one stop shop.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

I have had a few glitches in the past that had to deal with adding my name to a certain submittal, the team at Vista was unable to help with the problem. Only had this on one project.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Great product, take time learning all aspects of the software. Will help with time and convenience in the field.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their is not a need to use more than one piece of software, spreadsheets are easy to read.

  ### 21. We are over all happy with our experience partnering with Vista

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Norm B. | Owner , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is a one stop shop and they have a comprehensive package that integrates together from estimating, accounting, and project management. They also have a top notch support.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The bundling and changes to the modules- hard to know which module does what when trying to make a decision on purchasing

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The amount of time to run reports have been dramatically cut down. Powerful estimating software which communicates to the accounting

  ### 22. Vista

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Probably the best thing about Vista is that it is all rooted in accounting. Everything you do on the job cost side is reflected in the general ledger. Vista is also very customizable letting businesses decide which parts of Vista they want to use and how to use them.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Sometimes support isn't that helpful, especially the chat feature. If you get on a chat with them, it seems as if they are merely looking at cheat sheets rather than being fully informed about the product.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to integrate with other software so that time is maximized in the right areas.

  ### 23. Vista is a very outdated inadequate software

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber J. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

We just purchased and have transitioned into this program. I do not like anything about it

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Everything. The batch processing, approving, and then interfacing is a very outdated way to work. The processes are all very old and slow. Quite a bit of duplicate entry and no cohesiveness

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Look elsewhere this program fails to deliver on all fronts

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far I have not found any advantages. It was thought to be an all in one for construction management & accounting. It does not serve either side of our business properly

  ### 24. Be who you want to be.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I love the ability to add custom UD fields and user databases, and how it all just links together.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

They have grown so fast, that their customer support has not grown as fast with them.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

The great thing about Viewpoint is that if you do not see the function already built in, you can usually add it with the User Database functions.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Imports are a big time saver for us. We can bulk key something or download into Excel and then import into viewpoint on just about all forms.

  ### 25. Good Support and Good Product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim E. | Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like the constant updates, they seem to always be looking to get better.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Batch posting, seems like this could be improved. Would like a completely revamed user security process.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keystyle approval has been great.

  ### 26. You can keep track of anything in this program

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that this is easily customizable and that I can create different modules

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

This program glitches when I want to change my view it is sensitive when you want to change views in your module that can cause hang time

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

It’s worth it to be patient

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to locate the information needed by our receiving and warehouse easily you don’t need to be a genius to use it it cuts down time because I can ask the warehouse person to use this program while I do other things

  ### 27. Company is not what it used to be

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Software is very flexible and allowed us to customize it to fit our company. T&M billing is very powerful and the software when originally built was very solid and stable overall. Generally allows you to set things up like you want, but it does take time to do it and decide how to do it.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The company has changed dramatically since the buyout. Most people that truly cared and "owned" the software are gone. Software support has deteriorated tremendously to the point where we do not even try to call most times anymore. Software assurance fees started going up 5% every year and now have gone to 7% increase every year. Those that truly care have left or are leaving the company. It is a pure money-making machine at this point. They are buying up their competitors and jacking up the prices as they know they have people trapped. We no longer install an update when it comes out as we know the potential for major issues. We always wait until a number of patches have been released.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Thoroughly review the contract and lock in very long term pricing for software assurance, new users, upgrades, etc. before you sign,. Once they have you, they have you.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software generally runs our day-to-day business well and can be adapted to our needs.

  ### 28. Vista is a great asset

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is simple to use and provides simple reports.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There is not a large variety of reports and it is not easy to create a specialized report.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

It can b very beneficial.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is much easier to manage employee benefits with Vista, especially compared to our last system.

  ### 29. Not all I hoped for

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that F4 can be setup to grab from different places so I'm not constantly typing while entering work orders

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Not very user friendly. Fields require a lot of repetition and forms are not as clean as we would have hoped for.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Do your homework. Make sure this is going to be as efficient as you were told when you purchased the product. We have constant freeze ups of the program. Once this happens it locks up what you're working in. Certain functions require that you repeat them to actually make them work correctly.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to mainstream our accounting with our service management. This has been accomplished but not without

  ### 30. Vista - More Than You Could Ever Imagine

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

As a specialty sub contractor, Vista permits us to have a single ERP solution where we can link our payroll, fleet management, AP, AR and other aspects to manage our construction company.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

While Vista has a lot of functionality, it almost is too complex and very hard to fully grasp new trends.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to simplify one interface ERP system.

  ### 31. Integrative and Cloud Based Solution Helps our Project Management

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Having a software in the cloud is always a plus for us to be able to access it anywhere. Additionally, the software is roles based which helps us with access restrictions and ensuring the proper people are seeing our data.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The character limit on the fields hurts us to get all the information that we need.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using vista for project management. The benefits are numerous. There is easy look up information and the data integrates and transfers well as our projects develop.

  ### 32. WORST software I've ever used in my life.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that there are a wide variety of reports that pull different aspects of data and they can be useful for our population.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

God, where do I begin? There's virtually nothing automated under the HR modules. Just about everything is a manual process, system is super slow, functionality is both archaic and nonsensical and transmitting data into our payroll processes is so roundabout, it makes my head spin! With Payroll being completely separate from the HR modules, it's a constant battle to keep our system accurate and correct. Honestly, I could write a book on all things wrong with this crapware....but this is the gist.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

INVEST IN SOMETHING ELSE! For HR specifically, seek online on-boarding and automated functionality related to payroll and benefits. Viewpoint is not the way.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has increased a bit of our project and payroll visibility, which is helpful but that's about it.

  ### 33. Project Accountant

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Really like live updating an multi-user functionality.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Dislike AR entries and billings. Tracking equipment is cumbersome. Really dislike all ways of billing equipment to jobs/creating smaller profit centers in the company. The software seems completely contract focused, not conducive to spec homes.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Be sure to review all modules before implementation. Improper implementation can create long term pain of use. The customer service seems to have a hard time helping with quality implementation and suiting the software to your needs. Must be very self aware.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very strong reporting and cost analysis. Very easy and in depth to report costs in a variety of ways.

  ### 34. Viewpoint by Vista

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Viewpoint is a powerful tool, which if used correctly can greatly help a business in making informed, analytical decisions.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The platform itself is seriously dated and can be very unfriendly to the user.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Be patient!! Errors can be testing for the daily user. The logic used for general data entry is clunky and we have personally found the integration into an Australian business difficult at times.
To Viewpoint's credit, they did acknowledge some of these difficulties and tried very hard to fix problems.
Fixes and software updates are regular, which can be frustrating because they feel rushed and problematic at times.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project reporting and analysis, equipment management across multiple divisions, general ledger management.

  ### 35. Not as Good as Timberline

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that you can customize the reports in-house so you don't always have to wait for the help desk to respond

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

most everything else - mostly that it is not intuitive and doesn't speak to the other modules

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

get IN WRITING that it can do everything you need. Once you purchase it they try to sell you additional modules.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

honestly, not much. I thought Primavera was bad until I used this program...now I wish I had it back. I have had numerous problems with margins, modules not sharing information and a host of other issues. I feel it was way oversold to us.

  ### 36. Best system ever used!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The variety of modules we can use! I haven’t found a system that is user friendly and broad like this one.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Nothing, every role has controlled access which makes it great for users

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall financial data and HR

  ### 37. Great for large companies

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that we can create and store all information in 1 place.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Some of the setup is very time consuming and can be difficult to navigate.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Be patient.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We no longer have to manage multiple excel spreadsheets per project.
